WOW Women of Wrestling 11/30/2024 Season 5, Episode 12

Dave McClane shows us footage from The Beast last week. Dave is in the ring and says the WOW Title is vacated. He says WOW will hold a 12-person battle royale to decide the new WOW champ.

We see clips of Terri Gold winning the WOW Title in a battle royale from 20 years ago.

Magnificent Miranda Mirage says she has plenty of tricks up her sleeve. She says only a performer as magnificent as her can own the stage and dominate at the same time. She says if superheroes plan on facing her, she will make them disappear.

WOW Title Battle Royal Qualifier - Xena Phoenix vs "Magnificent" Miranda Mirage

MMM = Magnificent Miranda Mirage

This is Miranda's WOW debut. I think this is only Xena's 2nd WOW match. MMM is a magician. Xena wristlocks her and MMM reverses it. MMM takes her down by the arm and Xena waistlock takedowns her. Xena rolls her up for 2 and tries a jack knife pin. Xena suplexes her for 2. MMM side kicks her and hits kicks to the bak and front. MMM legdrops her for 2.

MMM hits corner spears and chokes her with her foot. MMM snapmares her and chinlocks her. Xena bridges out of a shot and hits a kick from it. MMM boots her over then bangs Xena's head off her foot. MMM chokes her with her leg on the ropes.

MMM hits a bad spin kick to the gut. Xena codebreakers MMM's arm and hits a japanese armdrag. Xena armdrags her then armbars her but MMM breaks it. Xena legdrops the arm and does another armlock. MMM ropebreaks. Xena does another armbar and taps her out.

Thoughts: I didn't like MMM losing in her debut here. There's no reason for that. MMM has some bad kicks and is still pretty green. Xena had a decent showing here though and seemed to have the right idea with this with the arm work. It started off well, went downhill during MMM's section and got a little better towards the end.

We see a video of the Top Tier vs Dojo Defenders and Valentina Diamante feud. The faces train together in a kickboxing gym. Valentina says let's see how good Top Tier is. The Defenders say let's how good Top Tier is when the odds are even. 

Top Tier (Coach Campanelli, Gloria Glitter and Kandi Krush) vs Dojo Defenders (Kara Kai and Tara Strike) and Valentina Diamante

Kara is in the black and Tara is in the white. The faces attack before it starts. Val rolls up Coach then Krush and Gloria are sent into each other outside. Val la magistrals Coach for 2. Kara PK's Coach for 2. Kara hits leg kicks then shots to the gut. Kara boots her out of the corner and headscissors her.

Gloria gets in and held for shots from Tara. Tara chest kicks Gloria. Gloria sliding lariats Tara in the back. Krush jumps off of Gloria's back and hits Tara then Coach and Gloria also do this. Krush drops Tars with a chest forearm and elbow drops her for 2. 

Krush stands on Tara on the ropes. Gloria knees on Tara on the ropes. Coach throws Tara into the corner then kneels on her back. Gloria corner spears Tara and hits knees to the gut. Tara upkicks Krush. Coach pulls Kara off the apron and bangs her head on it.

Val gets the hot tag in and hits shots on Krush. She then crossbodies her. Tara and Gloria are sent out. Krush hits an AA on Val and wins.

Thoughts: It needed a bit more time. It was average for the most part with the teams getting equal amounts of offense before Top Tier won as expected.

Top Tier does a promo after. She says they have done nothing but rigorous training since she put the team together and says they have been delivering excellence. She says Krush and Gloria are living up to Top Tier potential. Krush grabs the mic and Coach yells at her. Coach says they are the top team in wrestling and are still Top Tier. 

"Vicious" Veronica Varoom vs Tiki Chamoro

This is VV's debut. She's said to be a comedian and a roller derby player and is said to be from New York. 

VV boots her. Tiki throws her in the corner. VV pulls Tiki's throat down over the top rope then she bangs her head off the buckles. VV hits corner spears.

VV stomps on her in the corner and slams her for 2. VV camel cluthes her. VV bangs Tiki's head off the mat. Tiki lariats her. Tiki pounces her then headbutts her. VV eye rakes her, grabs the tights and rolls her p to win.

Thoughts: VV thankfully won here in her debut. It wasn't that good. VV is pretty limited and new.

VV says we need to show respect for NY's finest. She says she will intoxicate, annihilate and obliterate anyone who gets in her way. She says we will remember her face and name and says she's the show.

WOW Tag Titles - Jones and Betty leave WOW if they lose -  Miami's Sweet Heat (c) vs Big Rigs and Bourbon (Jessie Jones and Big Rig Betty)

Lindsay is the blonde and Laurie has the black hair. The faces have matching gear on. They take down MSH and pound on them. MSH gets their heads banged off the pot and apron. Laurie's head is banged off the rails. Jones knees Laurie in the gut and MSH is whipped into each other outside.

Betty gets hold of Holly and spanks her. Jones goes into the post when Lana Star pulls Laurie away. Betty backhands Lindsay for 2. Betty headbutts her and is knocked over by Laurie from behind. MSH hit corner spears on Betty. Betty gets foot choked in the corner.

Betty takes a double back elbow then a rolling senton + fist drop combo. Laurie chokes Betty on the ropes. Lindsay and Holly pound on Betty when the ref isn't looking. Betty is bridged on the ropes and Laurie top rope double axe handles her in the gut.

Lindsay sleepers Betty. Betty takes a double boot in the corner then Laurie foot chokes her. Laurie catapults Lindsay into Betty, having her headbutt her in the gut. Lindsay and Betty trade. Laurie nails Lindsay on accident then Jones is tagged in.

Jones lariats and back elbows Laurie. Jones hits a stroke on Laurie for 2. Laurie backdrops Jones. Betty stunners Lindsay. Holly tries to hit Betty with a sock filled with rocks but she nails Laurie instead. Jones then pins Laurie. Jones and Betty win the tag titles!

Thoughts: It was a solid match here. We got some outside brawling to start. Betty got whooped for a while and evened up in the last part of this. Holly then cost her team the match on accident and the faces capitalized to win. Jones and Betty couldn't really lose here due to the stip so it made sense that they won. It'll continue this feud with Holly and MSH as well and give some standing to the Jones/Betty team so that's good. 

Overall thoughts: We had 2 new debuts here, a title change and the world title getting stripped from The Beast. It was a notable episode here and definitely one you'll have to check out. Quality wise, it was about average overall but they are making the right moves. I'd give it a 5 out of 10.
