AEW Collision 6/11/2025 Summer Blockbuster

AEW Collision 6/11/2025 Summer Blockbuster

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/06/aew-collision-642025.html

This aired at 10PM on Wednesday. Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone are on commentary.

Kyle Fletcher vs Anthony Bowens

Adam Cole is on commentary. AB and KF lock up. KF poses and tells Billy Gunn to suck it. AB side headlocks him. KF shoulders him over. AB rolls him up for 2 then superkicks him in the gut. AB hits a unique looking wrap around ddt that was a botch but looked cool.

AB hits a corner splash then olympic slams KF for 2. KF flying kicks AB off the apron. We go to PiP break and return. KG hits knees to the body. AB hits kicks then gordbusters him. AB hits an over the back fameasser for 2.

AB pump kicks him then KF hits a suplex on him. They go outside and KF is dropped face first on the apron. AB is on the buckles and gets kicked. KF is stuck on the 2nd rope and AB hits a bridging twisting ddt for 2.

KF forearms him and facekicks him. AB superkicks him. KF then superkicks him and sitout powerbombs him for 2. KF corner facekicks him then AB hits the arrival for 2. KF goes out and AB top rope dives on him outside.

Lance Archer beats up Billy Gunn outside. KF running facekicks AB then brainbusers him for the win.

Thoughts: It was pretty much all moves here. It was okay enough as they didn't overdo it, but it was a bit longer to start this one. This is the longest we've seen Bowens wrestle in singles and they matched up okay.

We get a video on the MJF vs Mistico match.

Carlos Cabrera, who is an AEW Spanish commentator, is in the ring. He talks about the show in Mexico. He brings out Atlantis Sr. Atlantis Jr. comes out with Atlantis Sr.

FTR come out before anything is said. Carlos had called Atlantis Sr a living legend and Stokeley Hathaway complains. He says either Sr. is excited or he's so old and about to defecate himself on TV. He says Sr. is scared. He talks about FTR taking out Nigel and The Rock and Roll Express. Stoke says Nigel has been popping pills in the hopes of going back to 2002. He says Daniel Garcia has contemplated retirement and says his onlyfans link will pop up anytime. He says Cope is staring at a will and his brain is sizzling like a fajita plate from Chili's.

He says FTR doesn't have a match for Mexico yet but wants it. Dax says he's excited about the AEW/CMLL partnership. He says CMLL is the oldest company and says we have the oldest wrestler in wrestling. He asks Atlantis how they would have fared if they wrestled in the 30's like him. FTR says they would have beaten Panther, The Villano's and Santo. He insults Sr and The Atlantis' attack FTR. They fight and Sr gets double teamed. Adam Cole then comes out to help Sr. The Don Callis Family then comes out and beats up Cole. Bandido and Templario then come out and get stomped on. Brody King then comes out to help. The faces get the advantage. Band topes out and Temp top rope plancha's out. Dax gets psinebusterd by Sr then Sr chases him around outside and hits him. Dax runs into the crowd to escape but Sr bangs his head off a chair.

Big Bill and Bryan Keith are interviewed. Bill says they cracked skulls and racked W's with Gates of Agony. BK says he didn't think he'd make it through that match. Bill assk if there's another team out there. The Workhorsemen then randomly show up. JD says failure isn't an option where they come from and say it's time to punch in and knock out. Bill says if they wanna get their skulls cracked, then all means. BK says, "crack, crack".

Thoughts: The Workhorsemen haven't been around in so long that I forgot JD's name.

Toni Storm vs Julia Hart

Mercedes Mone is at ringside with a bunch of food and a table. Skye Blue is with Hart and nails Toni from behind. The heels then beat up Toni and the ref makes Skye leave.

Toni gets up and gets in and the match starts. Hart beats up on Toni and stomp flurries her. Hart hits a top rope moonsault, but just kind of lands on her feet and then drops down. Toni shotgun dropkicks Hart then hip attacks Hart off the apron.

We go to PiP break then full break and return. Hart wristlocks Toni. Hart rope walks and is crotched on the top. Toni then shakes the ropes into Hart's crotch and germans her. Toni backdrops her then fisherman suplexes her for 2.

Hart does a tarantula variation on Toni then does an octopus to her. Toni hits a sky high for 2. Hart STO's her then misses a top rope moonsault. Toni cradles her and wins.

Thoughts: It was pretty standard stuff here with Hart beating up on Toni, messing up and Toni winning. It was fine. Toni won as expected here.

Mone gets in the ring after while Toni is recovering. Mone kisses her, because every woman in AEW has to act like a lesbian then she throws her down backwards and pounds on her. Mina Shirakawa then saves Toni.

Mone then pounds on Mina and throws her out. Mone rubs Toni's face in the title and says, "kiss this title goodbye".

Ricochet is interviewed. He says he's searching for the perfect group of individuals to help get him gold. Lee Johnson and Blake Christian come in. Lee says they know Ric saw what they can do. Blake says they don't need something but need someone. Ric says it's embarrassing to watch two men play make believe Ricochet every week. Ric says there is still something that they are missing.

Thoughts:
This was a burial because it was essentially true.

Mark Briscoe, Tomohiro Ishii and Willow Nightingale vs MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden) and Taya Valkyrie

This is random. TI and Mansoor shoulder battle. Taya gets tgged in and bumps chest with Ishii then she chops him. Willow is tagged in and she chops Taya. Willow slams Taya then low crossbodies her for 1.

Madden and Mark go at it. Mark hits shots and flying forearms Madden. Madden leg slices Mark. Mark takes corner attacks, an atomic drop then a hip attack. Willow hits lariats on Taya. Willow hits a top rope dropkick on Taya then apron cannonballs her.

Madden takes chops from the faces and a double shoulderblock. Mark is bridged on the ropes and takes a senton to the back. Mansoor sunset bombs Mark off the ropes then Willow spears Mansoor. Madden takes a double superplex then Mark top rope elbow drops an opponent. Willow doctor bombs Taya and wins.

Thoughts: It had the usual issues intergender matches have with the heels being morons and not going after the weak link Willow. At least it was brief and they didn't go too far, but no intergender matches please.

We see Kris Statlander get interviewed last week after Fyter Fest. She says Willow is done with her and she's done with that. She says there's no other person on the roster who is like her. Wheeler Yuta comes up to her and says he knows it has been tough. He said he had to make tough choices to get where he's at and says he's here if she has advice. She backs him up. Yuta says to forget about Willow and make your own choices. She then shoulders Yuta as she exists and stares down Marina Shafir.

Thoughts: I really don't get this whole Kris Statlander saga. She turned on Willow, tried to make friends wither her and be a face and now looks like she is going to be a heel again.

The Beast Mortos vs Bandido

They say this is a stand-by match as Komander was beaten up.

Mort shoulders over Band then throws him around by the hair. Mort blocks a flying headscissors then headbutts him. Mort jumps up onto Band and is flipped over the top. Band then topes him.

Band misses a top rope splash and Mort spears him. Mort tries to rip up Band's mask. Mort tornillo topes him outside. We go to PiP break and return. Mort basement dropkicks him. Mort misses a corner splash and Band facekicks him. Band double boots him out of the corner.

Band spinning headscissors Mort. Band gorilla presses Mort then top rope frogsplashes him for 2. Mort crucifix bombs and pop-up samoan drops Band. Band does a tilt-a-whirl cradle then rolls him up for 2. Band hits a go to sleep.

Band is crotched up top. They fight on the buckles and Band hits a top rope moonsault fallaway slam to win.

Thoughts: I thought it went a little longer than it needed to here but the work as okay and it was full of action as expected.

Mercedes Mone is interviewed. She is asked about what she whispered to Toni. Mone says she will get the AEW Women's Title and Renee brings up her saying she wants the CMLL Women's title. I think Zeuxis comes in, says the challenge is accepted and forearms Mone.

The Bucks and Page argue. Nana watches from a door. The Bucks say they cleared the path for Page to win The Owen and say he has to win the title and bring it to The Elite, the real plan. Page says there was no plan. Page says to stay out of his business and Swerve's business. He says if they don't, if he burns down a home again, it'll be because he trapped the two of them in it first.

Nana then asks if Swerve heard that and she says every word.

Thekla vs Queen Aminata

Queen waistlock takedowns Thek. Thek armdrags her and Queen avoids a kick. Queen wants to do a test of strength but is slapped. Queen slaps back and hair snapmares her. Queen double chops her then running knees her.

Thek stalls outside. Queen hip attacks her as she comes in. Thek flying headscissors her. Thek running facekicks her twice on the ropes. We go to PiP break and return. Thek does a hanging headscissors on the ropes.

Queen jack knifes her for 2 then back elbows her. Queen hits short arm clotheslines then suplexes her. Queen running facekicks her in the corner. Queen then sits on her thigh and tries to pin her.

Thek hangs on the ropes and kicks Queen. Queen headbutts Thek down. Queen bangs Thek's head into her butt. Queen top rope double stomps Thek for 2. Queen hits forearms. Thek rolls her up for 2. Thek hits a forearm and does the spider walk. Thek spears her then submits her with the death trap to win.

Thoughts:
The booking was awful here. Thek's new and instead of getting put over strong here, Queen just absolutely dunks on her the whole match. She slapped Thek around, she rubbed Thek's face in her butt and did anything but make Thek look good. And it's not like Queen is some bigwig in the division, she's a jobber that can't make TV most weeks.

Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne are interviewed. Nick asks Kip where Christian and his mom are. Kip says Christian said Nick needed space and says they have a big surprise for him - it's a highlight video from Best of the Super Juniors. Nick loves it. Kip says he doesn't know where either one of them would be without Christian.

We are told Kenny Omega was taken to the hospital but he's still set to face Okada.

Paragon (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly) vs The Don Callis Family (Lance Archer, Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander and Hechicero)

KT = Konosuke Takeshita

DG wristlocks Hech and is taken down. Hech rolls him around and goes for a pin then poses. DG then does his dance. DG is pulled down by the leg. Hech step up knees him in the corner. KT yanks on DG's arm. Cole hits forearms on KT and is eye raked.

Cole forearms KT then KT facekicks him. Cole hits a back enzugiri on him. KT takes a backbreaker + 2nd rope knee drop combo. Strong's knee in blocked in the corner and KT alley oops him into the buckle.

Lance takes a double knee to the gut. Kyle hits leg kicks on Lance. Lance black hole slams Kyle. We go to PiP break and return. Josh and Kyle trade then double clothesline each other. DG hits running lariats on KT. KT facekicks him then DG running lariats him.

DG hits mounted corner punches on KT. DG tornado suplexes KT then hits a twist and shout for 2. KT tries to blue thunder DG but takes a headlock takeover. Josh running facekicks DG. Strong comes in and leg lariats Josh then olympic slams him.

Strong dropkicks KT then dropkicks Hech through the ropes. Strong fireman's carry gutbusters Josh then sick kicks him. Strong texas cloverleafs him. Strong's team then all puts submissions on at the same time.

Lance is knocked off the apron. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero come down to help but get thwarted. KT forearms Strong then Josh germans Strong to win.

Thoughts
: It was your usual 8-man. There were more people involved in this one than time and it wasn't too much of note. It was fine and all but not much more.

Overall thoughts: It was your usual filler episode of Collision where the stars weren't around. Doing it at 10PM after 2 hours of wrestling was brave. The matches were mostly all random and nothing of note really happened here. Thekla's match was awful though with Queen Aminata dominating the whole time for unknown reasons and doing little to put Thekla over. It'd give it a 4 out of 10 as no real effort was put into this. I would not recommend it
