WOW Women of Wrestling 5/31/2025 Season 5, Episode 38
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/05/wow-women-of-wrestling-5242025-season-5.html
Samantha Smart and Abilene Maverick run into each other. Ab says Paola Mayfield got a match with The Classmaster tonight and calls her "little". Smart says Class is 6'2 and says Ab will lose. Ab says she's wrong. Smart puts her ruler up against her and Ab breaks it then leaves.
WOW Trios Title - Top Tier (Coach Campanelli, Gloria Glitter and Kandi Krush) vs Xena Phoenix, Sugar and Kara Kai
The heels attack as it starts. Xena boots over Coach then they trade waistlocks. Coach flips her and is rolled up for 2. Krush and Sugar get in. Sugar's head is banged off the buckles. Krush clubs on her. Glitter gets in and Sugar armdrags her. Sugar side headlock takeovers her then basement dropkicks her for 2.
Glitter is snapmared into a Kai PK. Kai hits kicks and corner meteora's her for 2. Glitter double throat thrusts her. Kai sends Coach into the buckles then has her head banged off the buckles by Krush. Krush armlocks her.
Glitter full nelson's Kai then backrolls her into a half-camel clutch. Coach abdominal stretches Kai and holds onto her partner's arms for leverage. Kai hiptosses her.
Sugar gets in and lariats Krush and Glitter. She hits polish hammers. Krush bites Sugar's ear then Xena takes a double hiptoss. Coach goes for the pin but isn't legal. Kai hits a reverse psycho trap on Coach then Krush AA's Kai. Glitter pedigrees Sugar then Xena flying knees Glitter. Coach swinging neckbreakers Xena.
The 6 girls fight then Top Tier blocks triple sunset flips and Coach picks up the pin on Xena.
Thoughts: They had a few moves that weren't hit the best but it was an okay match here with the heels being heels and the faces being faces. Top Tier winning wasn't much of a surprise since the faces are made up of people whose partners are out or injured. I do wonder if this feud ends here or keeps going.
Sylvia Sanchez vs Santana Garrett
SG wristlocks Syl then Syl reverses it. SG rolls out and kips up. SG side headlock takeovers her and is put in the headscissors. They lock up and test strength. SG monkey flips her and tries pin attempts.
SG walks up the buckles and armdrags Syl. She then does an indian deathlock without the legs tied up. Syl ropebreaks. Syl powerslams her for 2. Syl hits a big slap. SG does a handstand hurricanrana on the ropes and wins.
Thoughts: It was short and okay. SG's been featured a lot and Syl hasn't so her winning wasn't much of a shock.
Fury, Chainsaw and Daisy Lane vs Spring Break 24/7 (Crystal Waters, Brittany Bay and Sandy Shore)
Waters is in the blue and orange. Shore is in the green and blue.
Shore side headlocks Daisy and Daisy wristlocks her. Daisy bites the wrist then Shore sunset flips her for 2. Daisy boots her in the gut then shore slingblades Fury. Shore spin kicks Fury then flipping neckbreakers her. Chain gets in and slams Shore.
Chain hits a double chokeslam on Bay and Waters. Chain drops Daisy onto Shore with a splash and Daisy wins.
Thoughts: It was a quick one here. I know 24/7 isn't the best, but they don't have a huge roster and the match should have run a bit longer so the loss wouldn't look as bad here. They said that Fury, Chain and Lane are forming a group.
Sibley Scoles is in the locker room and talks about the Lauri vs Lindsay Carlson match last week. She says the twins are reunited but doesn't think Lana Starr has the same feeling.
We see Lana Star, Holly Swag and Penelope Pink in the back. Holly thinks her nose is broken. Pink says The Carlson's don't want to mess with her (Pink). Holly says they don't want to mess with "us". Holly says they are the best and Pink says they are on the same page.
Samantha Smart and The Classmaster talk. Smart says studying opponents isn't about winning, it's about dominating. She says it's about turning their strengths into weaknesses and their weaknesses into oblivion. Smart says Paola and Abilene have turned their intelligence into instagram likes.
Paola Mayfield and Abilene Maverick talk in the hall. Paola says she's much better than The Classmaster.
The next episode of WOW has Santana Garrett vs Reina del Rey.
WOW Title - The Classmaster (c) vs Paola Mayfield
Abilene Maverick is handcuffed to Samantha Smart and the post outside.
Class boots PM then waistlock takedowns her. Class misses a corner charge. PM dropkicks her into the corner. PM corner spears her then clubs on her. PM wraps Class' leg around the rope and pulls. PM pump kicks Class then botches a 2nd rope move.
Class bangs PM's head off the mat then suplexes her. Class hits corner spears. PM's head is banged off the buckles then Class throws her by the hair. Class crabs her then stf's her. Class bangs PM's face off the mat.
PM hits knees to the gut then suplexes her. Class armbars her then hits mounted forearms. Class chinlocks her. Class stomps PM's knee and slams her for 2. Class knees her in the gut. They go into the corner with the managers. Class grabs Ab and Smart pulls on PM's hair.
They trade forearms. PM knees her in the gut. Class is almost thrown into the ref. PM splashes the ref on accident. Class clubs PM. Smart gets out of the handcuffs and taunts Ab. Smart throws in her book. Class wasteland's PM on the book and the ref counts the pin.
Thoughts: It was a heel vs heel match which was a little unusual. PM wasn't good here. She had a lot of sloppy moments and the work wasn't anything too special. Class won as expected. I'm not sure where this leaves PM though. Like Santana Garrett, she has taken a bunch of losses lately.
Smart handcuffs her back to the post as the officials wake up. David McLane says this will have to go under review.
Overall thoughts: The opener was alright. The 2nd and 3rd matches were short and not much. The main wasn't that good with Paola having a lot of sloppy moments and losing as expected. It wasn't my most favorite episode of WOW as there weren't a lot of storyline developments and the 2nd and 3rd matches needed more time to play out. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 overall and wouldn't recommend it.
