Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/06/wwf-superstars-of-wrestling-3141992.html

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/06/wwf-superstars-of-wrestling-3281992.html

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and Sgt. Slaughter vs Bob Avery and Mark Avery

Jim bangs a twin's head off the buckles then lariats him. Jim slams him. Perfect says Mania will be Hulk's last match and Vince said he heard that too. Sarge hits a backbreaker and a slam. Jim and Sarge do an inset promo about the 8-man at Mania. Jim says they are just glad to be taking part at Mania.

Sarge short arm clotheslines a twin then hits a back body drop. A twin is thrown into Jim's lariat. Jim then picks up the pin.

Thoughts: It was a quick squash. They didn't bother figuring out which twin was which here and the faces won as expected. The focus was on them talking about Mania being Hulk's last match.

WWF Update

Mean Gene Okerlund talks Wrestlemania VIII. We see Gene try to interview Ric Flair on a yacht. Gene checks out the boat and Flair welcomes him aboard. Flair says Macho is in a state of denial about the Liz photos. He asks if pictures lie. He says Macho is trying to buy every magazine up. We see more photos of Flair and Liz.

Flair says Macho will be damaged goods 2 weeks from now. He says Macho will face the most dangerous wrestler alive today. Flair says he's Ric Flair and Macho is not. Flair says he will dump Macho just like he did Liz. He says he's riding high.

We see clips of Macho saying the photos aren't real.

Owen Hart vs Doug Somers

Now this is definitely the Doug Somers unlike last time. Owen wristlocks Doug. Doug flips him by the wrist and Doug bangs Owen's head off the buckles. Owen flips over him then Owen back body drops him. Owen hits a suplex and a legdrop. Skinner does an inset promo. Owen hits a nice belly to belly suplex. Owen then hits a top rope splash for the win.

Thoughts: Owen looked good as usual here and Doug's a solid hand. Owen is again without Jim Neidhart who was released last month. They spent a bunch of time talking about Hulk maybe retiring.

WWF Event Center

Sean Mooney hypes up the 3/28/1992 Boston Garden show. Jake Roberts does a promo behind a cage on Macho Man. He says the worst thing that can happen in a cage is if you start acting like a monkey. He says maybe you climb up top then fall down 15 feet.

He says Macho has gone down further than that with the pictures. He says he wants to take care of Macho then Taker.

Macho Man does a promo behind a cage. He says he's gearing up for Mania. Macho says he's double trouble and will look at him like Flair. He says this is a stepping stone to Mania. He says he has the power and says nobody is as dirty as Jake and Flair. He says the cage will tell the truth.

The Mountie & The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs & Jerry Saggs) vs Bill Wood, Dale Wolfe & Scott Summers

The Mountie debuted his "I'm The Mountie" song here. Knobbs hits punches on Dale, throws him down and elbow drops his back. Saggs elbow drops the back as well. Mountie flying back elbows Dale. Dale takes a pit stop from both Nasty Boys then is slammed by Saggs. Saggs elbow drops Dale.

Saggs runs over a jobber with a forearm then Knobbs running splashes the jobber in the corner. Knobbs hits a powerslam on a jobber then Saggs hits a top rope elbow drop to win.

Thoughts: It was all squash here with the heels keeping things moving en route to a quick win.

The heels beat up the jobbers after.

We see clips of Sid beating up Virgil last week.

Hulk Hogan is interviewed by Mean Gene on the stage. Hulk says the 2 weeks until Mania sound like an eternity to him. He says this is different from other Mania's as Sid is out of control. He says he sees Sid's ice cold stare. He says he saw the same look at the press conference. He says Sid is demented and worried about what would have happened if Sid did that to Brutus' face.

He says Sid may rule his world but in the ring is where he rules. He says he will prove to Sid the power of Hulk and asks what he will do when he does his own brand of justice on him.

Rick "The Model" Martel vs Robbie Sampson

Rick does an inset promo. He says he will be dressed for success at Mania and says he will be successful at Mania. Rick misses a corner elbow and avoids Rob.

Rick lariats Rob then slams him. Rick stun guns him then backbreakers him. Rick then submits him with a crab.

Thoughts:
It was a quick squash here and not much more. Rick backed away from Rob and sold his elbow some after missing a corner charge.

Tatanka vs Pete Sanchez

Rick runs into Tat as he enters. Rick teases spraying him with Arrogance but Tat hits him and they fight. The refs and Robbie Sampson try to break it up.

Tat shoulders over Pete then hiptosses him. Tat knees Pete in the gut then powerslams him. Tat then samoan drops him for the win.

Thoughts:
It was a quick squash like the last with Pete getting nothing in.

WWF Event Center

Sean Mooney hypes up the 3/28/1992 Boston Garden show.

El Matador does a promo on IRS. He says IRS is flying high with the tag titles and Jimmy Hart. He says this isn't a tag match. He says IRS will find out about the training he went through and says IRS will know The Matador.

Shawn Michaels and Sensational Sherri do a promo. Shawn asks what Virgil is doing with his facemask on. He as they will play a game and it's doctor. He says he will break Virgil's nose, reset it and break it again.

Virgil does a promo with a nose/face guard. He says Sid broke it. He says Hulk will get even for him. Virg says Shawn needs an attitude adjustment and he will give him one.

Wrestlemania VIII Report

Mean Gene says Hulk indicated this will be his last match. Sid Justice and Harvey Wippleman do a promo. Sid asks Virgil how it feels to breathe with the broken nose. He says he suffered the consequences of getting in  his way. He says Mania will be the death of Hulkamania because he rules the world.

Bret Hart does a promo on Roddy Piper. He says we won't worry about their friendship. Bret says an old wrestler told him Piper was one of the toughest fighters but says a good wrestler can beat a good fighter anytime. He says his father says that and he will take the title back at Mania.

Piper says it's 2 weeks to go. He says they can still be friends if Bret backs out now. Piper says he pulls no punches and feeds his family this way. He says we will see how much heart Bret has.

Money Inc do a promo. Ted says The Disasters are seeking revenge but were just stupid. He says the only thing shaking will be their knees. IRS says April is his favorite month and says The Disasters will have to pay their taxes then.

The Natural Disasters talk. Quake says Jimmy Hart brought himself into the disaster area and will feel their full wrath. Typhoon says they will audit the IRS and clean out Dibiase's account. He says they will step on the cockroach Jimmy Hart.

We get a Nailz video. He says it's another day closer to get out of prison and coming for The Big Boss Man. We don't see Nailz in this promo, just his jail.

The Undertaker vs Lee Thomas

Taker basically is a face now and is actually getting pops which is interesting.

Taker clubs on Lee then punches him down. Jake Roberts does an inset promo. He says Mania is coming and says they shoot horses at Indianapolis don't they? He says it's the humane thing to do and he'll do it. Taker flying lariats Lee.

Taker rope walks and clubs Lee's arm. Taker then gets the win with the tombstone.

Thoughts
: It was the usual squash. Taker might be a face now but he's not wrestling like it.

Taker puts Lee in the bodybag after. Some face he is.

WWF Event Center

Sean Mooney hypes up the 3/28/1992 Boston Garden show. Jimmy Hart and The Mountie do a promo. Jimmy asks when Bret will get that he can't beat Mountie? Mountie says he was preparing for months to wrestle Bret then Piper stole the belt. He says he will go through his skull again if he has to as The Mountie always gets his man. We saw this promo already

The Bushwackers do a promo about fighting The Smith Brothers, which we also saw already.

Vince and Perfect close the show. We will get more evidence from Flair, The Big Boss Man and an interview with Sid Justice.

Overall thoughts: There wasn't a lot of news here outside of Mountie getting a new theme and Virgil having to wear a face guard. There was also a lot of talk of Hulk possibly retiring which Hulk hasn't really brought up and which isn't going to happen. This was all about hyping up Mania, and rightfully so with only a few episodes to go before it. I wouldn't recommend this one as there was little going on in or out of the ring.
