#1 Contender to the NXT UK Women's Title - Jinny vs Piper Niven

They trade strikes to start. and Niven stomps on her in the corner. Jinny then fires off in the corner. Niven drops her body on Jinny and Jinny rolls out. Jinny gets thrown hard into the barricade. Piper goes hard into the ring post and when she gets in, Jinny pounds on her. Jinny hits a great forearm and drops her.

Piper gets put in an octopus stretch but won't submit and she eats more forearms and knees. Piper puts her on her back and drops.

Joseph Connors comes out to watch. Jinny goes for a lariat and gets backdropped then Piper hits some sledgehammer shots and a crossbody. Jinny gets set up for a dive by Piper, but Connors moves her out of the way and takes it instead. Jinny jumps off the 2nd rope and gets caught and Connors trips Piper in the corner for the Jinny win. Without the interference, this was pretty good with both bringing stiff strikes.

Pretty Deadly says Gallus put a target on their backs and says they are scared.

Aoife Valkyrie got a vignette about birds and flying, saying they don't try to be perfect, they just are.

Tyler Bate said his loss against A-Kid in the Heritage Kid was a way for him to learn. He said Bruce Lee changed his art and he wants to do that too. He said if he acts in full self-expression, everything will come into place.

Sam Gradwell wasn't impressed by that promo and neither was I.

We got Supernova Sessions with Noam Dar. He talked about his ambitions for the year which was winning every title and award he could get. 

Ben Carter was brought on. Dar thought he was Ben Carpenter and asked him about carpentry. Carter said he was happy to be in NXT UK but he wasn't just happy to be here and wanted to face the best. Jordan Devlin then came out. He didn't like Ben being on the show instead of him. He said he's the NXT UK Cruiserweight champ and should be on but Dar said he was just the interim champ.

Carter then said he agreed with Devlin. He said Devlin is the gatekeeper and great and he should have no problem competing against him for the title. Devlin said even though he's supposed to debut next week, why doesn't he take him on tonight? Carter of course agreed. The assistant GM then came out and made it official.

They announced Walter vs A-Kid for next week.

Kay Lee Ray did a promo. She said Jinny gets what she wants all the time, but her title is one thing she can't buy. She said the NXT UK Women's Title belongs to her.

We saw clips of the Huxley handicap match from last time and we saw Mastiff take out Huxley.

Dave Mastiff vs Saxon Huxley

The two trade some shots to start. Mastiff hits a knee and a senton. Huxley does his Lou Thesz press but barely gets Mastiff down then drops a big elbow. Huxley hits a mafia kick and a facewash kick. Mastiff's head is on the bottom rope and Huxley does a flying knee to him. Huxley then does a top rope crossbody on him.

Mastiff hits a quick back body drop and some strikes on Huxley, then he runs his body into him. Mastiff hits a wrist clutch exploder for 2. Huxley comes off the ropes and takes a big lariat then gets cannonballed into the corner for the win. This was kind of disappointing as Huxley didn't get a lot in and they only had a few minutes to work with.

We got a video package for A-Kid vs Walter. 

WWE NXT UK Cruiserweight Title - Jordan Devlin vs Ben Carter

 

I don't like this whole set-up here. Ben's getting pushed real fast, real soon and he pretty much has to win here or get screwed out of winning. I also worry they are hyping him more than he can match the hype.

Carter tries to armdrag Devlin but Devlin hangs onto his wristlock. Carter does the usual cartwheel out of a Devlin wristlock. Ben hits a dropkick with some impact knocking out Devlin. Devlin gets back in and hits a choke slam and a standing moonsault. Devlin then takes over.

Ben rolls up Devlin for 2. Ben comes off the ropes and Devlin pops him up and slams him down. Carter springboarded, Devlin did a premature dropkick and Carter dropped down, then springboard dropkicked him. Ben sits on the top rope and gets knocked down to the floor. Ben gets thrown into the steps and brainbustered.

Ben and Devlin run the ropes and both crossbody each other hard in a cool spot. Devlin ducks some high kicks and punches Ben in the face. Devlin slides under Ben on the apron then Ben moonsaults on him and slices him with a lariat. Devlin gets thrown in and Ben hits a twisting suplex. Ben goes up for a twisting moonsault but nobody is there and he rolls out then Devlin comes back with a standing spanish fly. Devlin jerks Ben up and gets caught in a snap code red. Ben springboard dropkicks but Devlin catches him and hits the texas cloverleaf but Carter hits the ropes. Devlin pulls him off and Carter goes to the other ropes.

Devlin hits some Kawada kicks and pulls up Carter into a Saito suplex for the win. There was a little bit of the vet vs rookie storyline going on here and this was good overall. Ben looked like he belonged and we will have to see where he goes from here.

Overall thoughts: Pretty good show overall with 2 good matches. I wasn't a fan of the Noam Dar talk show but I guess it fulfilled its purpose.
