Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling TV 1/18/2026

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling TV 1/18/2026

Note - This is the first episode of this year with new matches.

Herb Simmons and Drew Abbenhaus are on commentary.

Cannonball Matthews and Steve Fender vs Mike Devine and Tim Roberts

Tim is in the black and red. Mike is in the blue. CM and SF have Lucky P. Larson with them.

Tim side headlocks SF then shoulders him over. Tim shoulders him over and hits him in the gut. Mike hits SF in the gut and the spine. Mike side slams SF for 2. Tim bends over and SF kicks him. SF rams him into the corner. CM corner splashes Tim. CM suplexes Tim.

CM chinlocks Tim then Larson chokes Tim on the ropes. SF boots and chops Tim in the corner. He then elbow drops him a few times for 2. SF stomps Tim. CM and Mike get in. CM misses a corner splash and is neckbreakered for 2.

Mike comes off the 2nd rope and CM gets his boot up. CM michinoku drivers Mike and pins him.

Thoughts: There were a couple sloppy moments here and it was average for the most part. CM and Steve won this one as expected since they are regulars.

Bobby D does a promo on Brandon Baretta. He says SICW fans don't cheer cowards and don't call thieves champs. He says that's what Brandon was when they fought. He says his title should be his. He says he's not champ as the ref couldn't see it. He says Brandon went low and tried to drive his face into the title. He says he did hit him with the title and doesn't regret it. He says you get what you earn with him and he says Brandon earned that. He says he saw him laughing after. He says the only thing keeping the title off of him is Brandon's fear of nearly losing again. He says the title is his title and challenges him.

Trent Daniels vs Sebastian St. James

They lock up and SJ clean breaks him in the corner. SJ waistlocks him. TD boots him in the corner and bangs his head off the buckles. SJ 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him for 2. SJ dropkicks him. SJ hits a corner spear.

TD boots him in the corner then foot chokes him. SJ northern lights suplexes him for 2. SJ is sent into the buckles and TD running facekicks him. TD picks up the win.

Thoughts: It was an average match for the most part. TD was the favorite going in and pulled it off as expected.

Brandon Baretta is interviewed by Drew. Drew says Bobby D wants a rematch and isn't happen. Brandon says all that matters is that the promoter is happy in this company. He says he thinks Herb Simmons is the happiest man as Brandon is the top guy in any locker room he heads into and has SICW on his back. He says he whooped Bobby's @ss. He says Bobby can hope or dream but that the obligated rematch and it's done. He says if Bobby and Herb can come up with a big financial proposal that is worth his while, he will do it. Brandon says he's in demand but is ready to do business if it's fit.

Nasty Talk with Glenn Williams

Glenn says since he won so many titles, he thinks he knows what is hot and what's not in 2025. He says Billy McNeil and Curtis Wylde are not hot. He says he beat them with Super Assassin for the tag titles. He says they listen to weird music and dress weird. He says the crowd should chant, "let's retire" to them. He says what's not hot #2 is The Gateway Saints. He says he can't stand that team. He says they are on a nostalgic run but it's 2026 and he's kind of the mountain. He says isn't it crazy that Sean Vincent's knees have more snap, crackle and pop than cereal. He says what's not hot #1 is JBL. He says JBL won't accept his challenge. He says he's good enough and entertaining enough for JBL to face him but he won't give him his flowers. He says JBL has talked about getting back in the ring but asks what he will do with it.

He says what's hot #3 in 2025 is him and The Super Assassin. He says they beat Wylde and McNeil and calls them idiots. He says what's hot #2 is Brandon Barretta. He says he's been around and is a top guy everywhere. He says he goes and wins titles everywhere. He says what's hot #1 is him. He says nobody is on his level. He says he was a double champ that got screwed and said he hit a million views across all platforms. He says he's viral and has the momentum. He says he's what's hot now and forever.

Glenn then says he's used to be in the main event and wants to taste the next level. He says JBL won't accept his challenge. He says he needs Herb Simmons to quit being a coward and do his job. He says all Herb has to do is make the match. He asks what Herb is protecting and says it's not him. He says he's not scared of the wrestling god and says it's him. He says all he does is win and tells Herb to make the announcement. He says he will put the Central States Title on the line and says he will do whatever it takes. He says things may have to get worse around here if that doesn't happen and tells Herb to make the match.

James Jeffries is interviewed. He says it's great to be back. He thanks Curtis Wylde for having his back. He says he got beat last night. He says he has never felt anything so devastating like Super Assassin's heart punch. He says it's no joke and as tough as it comes. He says he's pumped to be back here tonight and says there' an opportunity to bring more hardware home tonight. He says he needed to find a partner and found Gary Jackson. He says he hopes they take home the tag titles.

The show and old Kerry Von Erich vs Greg Valentine match from Wrestling at the Chase.

SICW Tag Titles - Glenn Williams and The Super Assassin (c) vs Gary Jackson and James Jeffries

Gary and SA go at it. Gary ducks a lock up and hammerlocks him. SA wristlocks him. Gary elbows him in the arm and JJ then works the arm. JJ wristlocks SA. JJ bangs on SA's arm. Gary bottom rope double axe handles SA's arm.

SA eye rakes JJ in the corner. He forearms him from behind. JJ hits some bootes and punches. Gary works the arm and is pushed into the corner. Gary is double booted in the corner. Gary is then held for shots from Glenn. SA running back elbows Gary in the corner and hits punches.

SA hits corner spears and they trade punches. SA lariats Gary for 2. Glenn suplexes Gary. Glenn bends over and Gary swinging neckbreakers him. JJ gets in and hits shots on the heels. JJ discus punches Glenn. JJ top rope crossbodies SA for 2. Glenn throws JJ over the top rope and is DQ'd.

Thoughts: The faces weren't moving that well here and we had a DQ, so this wasn't the greatest. Glenn throwing JJ over the top the should lead to something though.

The heels beat up Gary and JJ after.

Overall thoughts: We had 3 new matches here and one longer segment with Glenn Williams trying to set up a match with JBL. The 3 matches were all on the shorter end and weren't must see. I thought it was an average episode overall but they made it clear where things are going in the future - Glenn Williams/JBL and Bobby D/Barretta.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 8/10/2025

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 8/10/2025

Herb Simmons and Drew Abbenhaus are on commentary.

Super Assassin vs Joe Venetti

They lock up and Joe is pushed in the corner. SA misses a corner charge and is hit with punches. Joe side headlock takeovers him. SA hits punches and chokes him. SA side slams him.

SA does a trapezius hold. Joe jawbreakers out and corner splashes him. Joe codebreakers him. Joe goes up top and top rope dropkicks him for the win.

Thoughts:
It was a shorter on here with Joe winning as expected.

We see:

Strap Match - Lilith Khan vs Ms. Hyde

We join this in progress. Khan fallaway slams her and headbutts her. Khan hits another fallaway slam. Hyde basement dropkicks her. They go outside and Khan is pulled into the post with the strap. Khan is tied around the post and hit with the strap.

Khan is pulled into the post. Hyde chairs her. They tug of war over the strap and Khan sends her into the post. Khan gets a 2 count. Hyde is sent into the corner and runs into the ref. Hyde stunners her but the ref is down and can't count.

Travis Cook comes to ringside and gives Khan a weapon. Khan punches Hyde with it and wins.

Thoughts
: What we saw of it wasn't bad. They used the strap quite a bit here and spent a lot of this brawling outside before the finish. They also definitely laid into each other a bit on the various shots.

Brandon Baretta is interviewed by Drew. BB asks what is controversial about his win over Gary Jackson. Drew said he low blowed him. BB says the ref counted the 3 and says it was just strictly business. He says he will take what he wants, when he wants from whoever he wants. He says that is strictly business. Drew wants to talk about Bobby D and BB says who cares?

The Big Texan and Bobby D are interviewed. Bob says he didn't think much of Baretta when he first saw him. He says Baretta hit the gym and uprooted his life to get better. He says he doesn't respect how he got his wins lately though. He says Baretta will find out why he's champ next week.

They talk about The American Giant. Texan says it's not often he has to look up to someone bigger than him but he's glad he's on his side. He says they will take down Devastation Inc tonight. Bob says Devastation Inc has been a pain in his butt for a long time but he has two colossals on his side and he feels good.

Brandon Baretta vs Billy McNeil

BB waistlocks him and side headlocks him. BB wristlocks him. BM kips up and waistlocks him. BM jack knifes him then backslides him. BM side headlocks him then is pulled down by the hair. BB kicks him in the gut.

BB chops him in the corner and piefaces him. BM is thrown hard into the corner then BB knee chokes him. BB exploders him then hits mounted punches.  BM chokes him on the ropes and euros him. BB deadlift germans him then knees on his throat for a pin attempt. BB cravates him. BM hits forearms. BB hits a running facekick then sentons him for 2.

BM facekicks him then lariats and back elbows him. BM jumping knees him. BM flying lariats him. They fight on the buckles. BM gordbusters him off the top. BM misses a top rope swanton. BB headlock drivers him and wins.

Thoughts: I liked it. Brandon looked good as a more serious and heelish wrestler and Billy sold well for him to get him over.

Devastation Inc. is interviewed by Drew. Travis Cook says Stephen E. is in Istanbul and he's making a statement for him. They say Kenny Kingston is a new member of the group. Cook says King had a lot of interesting training, weapons training and paramilitary style training. He says he's known as being a mercenary in the underground as a guy you want when there's a fight. He says he could be fighting in Rhodesia or Russia and says he fights for whoever pays him. Cook says they paid him well and he's glad he's here with them. He says King is here for when you need to win a war.

Cook says there's a women's cage match on 10/4. He says women's cage matches are rare which is weird as he says women usually hate each other. He says it'll be Ms. Hyde vs Lilith Khan. He says he knows Hyde has probably knocked out some girls, been in fist fights and been in mosh pits. He asks what she will do when she's in a cage and there's no way in or out? He says he knows Ms. Hyde thinks she's tough but she cannot last with Khan.

They showed some old matches including Jack Brisco vs Bill Irwin, Tim Leonard vs Kerry Von Erich and Bobo Brazil vs David Price.

The Big Texan, Bobby D and American Giant vs Devastation Inc. (Kenny Kingston, Peyton Ayres and Atila Khan)

Texan locks up with Peyton then hits him in the gut. Peyton hits forearms. Texan chops him. Giant comes in and double axe handles Peyton.Texan hits corner spears on Peyton then knees him in the gut. Bobby chops Peyton and suplexes him. Giant chokes Peyton in the corner and chops him.

Texan knees and clubs Peyton. Peyton's head is banged off the buckles. Giant chokes Peyton the bangs Peyton and Kenny's heads together. Texan bangs Peyton's head off the buckles. Texan misses a corner splash. Kenny comes in and hits punches on Texan. Kenny then slaps him down.

Kenny stands on Texan. Khan hits Texan while he's on the ropes then he chokes him. Kenny hits a big splash on Texan. Peyton comes in and splashes Texan for 2. Peyton pulls on Texan's nose then he chokes him on the ropes. Kenny chokes Texan on the ropes. Texan suplexes Peyton.

Khan comes in and beats up on Texan. Khan throws Bobby D out then the heels stomp Bobby outside. Khan hits Texan in the throat with a fork then pins him.

Thoughts:
It was simple and it was acceptable. There wasn't anything too crazy here but we got a bunch of splashes. Giant couldn't really move that well but we knew that going on. Peyton took an impressive suplex bump.

Overall thoughts: We had 3.5 new matches and the usual interviews. There was nothing must see wrestling wise but it made sense and the faces and heels did their roles. Brandon Baretta had a good showing here and Travis Cook was entertaining on the mic as usual. It was nice to get a pinfall finish in the main and the commentary was good as usual. I enjoyed the show.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 12/8/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 12/8/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/12/southern-illinois-championship.html

Herb Simmons and Drew Abenhaus are at the studio tonight.

They talk about the outcome of the Team SICW vs Devastation Inc match with SICW on the line. They say SICW won't have any new shows in December but will return on January 10th, 2025.

Drew says he doesn't think Stephen E's crew is going anywhere. Herb says Stephen E talked to him. He said E told him mistakes were made and he wants to sit down and talk.

They say there will be new announcements, new wrestlers and returning wrestlers next year.

They talk about the upcoming SICW Fanfest and tell us Nikita Koloff, Tito Santana and Missy Hyatt will be there. They say Butch Reed will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Drew puts over Butch as being great. They mention that Butch had his last match for SICW (5/18/2013 with Flash Flanagan and Ron Powers vs Bob Orton and Butch Reed).

We go to a match from November 23rd.

SICW Central States Title - 2/3 Falls - Glenn Williams (c) vs Bobby D

Sean Vincent does the intro for Glenn. Glenn gets on the mic and tells Bobby to shut up. Glenn says this place smells like a toilet. Glenn says tonight is about him. Glenn says he will forever be the Central States champ.

1st Fall - Bobby shoulders Glenn over. Bobby waistlock takedowns him and side headlocks him. Bobby backdrops him and Glenn goes out to stall. Bobby chops him outside. Glenn is backdropped on the apron. Bobby legdrops him on the apron. Bobby chops Glenn up and hits some forearms outside.

Glenn boots Bobby in the gut and hits some shots which eventually knock him over. Glenn hits some punches. Bobby back elbows him. Bobby germans him and pins him to win the fall.

2nd Fall - Bobby splashes Glenn in the corner and hits chops. Glenn pulls Bobby down backwards by the hair. "Trending" Trent Daniels comes out to cheer on Glenn. Glenn boots Bobby in the corner then clubs and stomps on him. Sean then helps stomp on Bobby. Glenn pump kicks him for 2. Glenn hammerlock ddt's Bobby then stomps on him.

Bobby is tied up in the ropes and Glenn clubs on his chest. Sean then gets a shot in on Bobby. Bobby suplexes Glenn then lariats him down. Glenn jawbreakers him. Bobby catches Glenn with a crossbody. Glenn goes over the top and Bobby gets DQ'd for throwing Glenn over the top. Glenn Williams wins the 2nd fall.

3rd Fall - They trade shots and Glenn uranages him for 2. Bobby crucifixes Glenn for 2 then exploders him for 2. Glenn eye rakes him then suplexes him. Glenn hits a nice flying shoulder. Glenn comes off the 2nd rope and is atomic dropped. Bobby works the leg and puts Glenn in a sharpshooter. Sean Vincent gets in and tries to interfere but is stopped by the ref. Trent comes off the top rope and double axe handles Bobby. The ref sees it and DQ's Glenn. Bobby D wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: The crowd was hot for this but I thought it was an average match. The ending wasn't that great here but the big thing to keep in mind is that while Glenn lost, he retains the title by DQ. Glenn was also about to lose so it wasn't a bad outcome for him.

Sean Vincent gets on the mic after and puts over Glenn. Glenn gets booed as he leaves and the ref has to hold Bobby back from going after Glenn.

Drew interviews Bobby D in the ring and says what happened sucks. Bobby agrees. He said he got the win and will get a rematch. He says he hopes Team SICW beats Devastation Inc. tonight (this was taped the same night as that match).

We go back to Drew and Herb in the studio. Drew says Bobby got the win but the final fall had to be decided by pin or submission, so Bobby didn't win the title. Herb says Bobby is on a roll and says he doesn't get why Glenn teams with Sean Vincent.

They talk about some of the places SICW went to this year. Herb thanks all the groups that book them year after year.  Herb says to come see their show live if you like what you see on Youtube.

We go to break and return. Herb says they have a match for January 10th and it'll be Kowalski and Glenn Williams vs Bobby D and Big Joe Helms. Drew and Herb say it'll be a great match. They say anything can happen with 2 champs involved in that match. Herb says Joe better be careful going against Dogtown Underground.

They announce "Yabba Dabba Daddy" will make his debut and Danny Dollar with return to SICW. They say Austin Mulitalo will return as well. They also announce TV tapings for January 11th and close the show.

Overall thoughts: There was only one new match here. It was average. It's a smaller indy and they don't have big TV budgets so we are lucky to get what we get. This one wasn't must see but they have to work within their budget.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 12/1/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 12/1/2024

Last week's show did not have any new matches so I didn't cover it. The show from 2 weeks ago is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/11/southern-illinois-championship_18.html

Herb Simmons talks about the recent match from 11/23 where SICW was on the line against Stephen E and Travis Cook. Herb says Team SICW won. Herb said he was worried and said Team SICW was in trouble multiple times during the match. We then cut to clips from 11/23/24.

Control of SICW - Stephen E is handcuffed to Bob Orton Jr. - Haku, The Barbarian and Atila Khan vs Danny Bow Hawkins, "Night Train" Gary Jackson and Ron Powers

The match starts before the bell rings. Ron and Khan go outside. Khan is sent into the ring and a table. Gary and Barb fight outside and Danny fights with Haku. Haku and Barb get their heads banged together. Ron chairs Khan. Haku throws a chair in and it somehow hits Gary. Gary's in pain over it. Haku bangs Gary's leg off the apron.

The teams get in their corners and Danny squares off with Barb. Barb hits a boot to the gut and hits chops in the corner. Barb chokes Danny. Danny corner lariats him then flying lariats him. Gary and Haku go at it. Haku wristlocks him and Gary reverses it. Haku chops Gary in the head and Gary hits chops. Danny comes in and dropkicks Haku. Danny crossbodies him but just gets knocked back.

Haku headbutts Danny. Ron gets in. Ron hits punches on Haku then Khan hits shots on Ron. Ron back elbows Khan then lariats him over for 2. Gary comes in and hits forearms on Haku. Haku blocks his sunset flip and double chops him in the neck.

Gary gets his legs split by the heels and Khan gets his head banged off the steps. Khan is busted open. Barb single leg crabs Gary and Gary rope breaks. Khan hits shots on Gary then Barb and Haku choke Gary in the corner. Khan stabs Gary with a fork and knee drops him.

Khan clubs Gary then Gary crossbodies Haku for 2. Gary's head is banged off Barb's head by Haku. Gary takes a double clothesline then Barb elbow drops him for 2. Barb chinlocks Gary.

Barb chops Gary in the throat. Haku misses a headbutt drop on Gary and takes a jawbreaker. Gary goes for the tag and Haku grabs Gary by the trunks to stop him, pulling them down. Haku chops Gary then Khan gets chops and punches on Gary. Khan slams Gary then fsit drops him. Khan misses a corner splash. Ron hits punches on Haku. Ron beats up on all 3 opponents. Khan hits Ron with something in the mouth and the other 4 fight outside.

Ron taks a shot from Khan then Khan headbutt drops him. Khan misses a 2nd rope diving headbutt. Ron sleepers Khan then Khan pulls the ref into Ron to break the hold. Travis Cook comes in. He tries to use a golden spike on Ron but nails Khan with it. Khan then punches Cook out. Ron does a head and arm choke on Khan. Khan is out and Ron picks up the win.

Thoughts: It was nice to see this match. It had been built up for a while and they definitely needed to show this one. Thankfully they did. There were some limitations due to some of the wrestlers being older but Barb, Ron and Haku worked well. But it was a fun match with the crowd being really into it and them doing some brawling and face vs heel work. I thought the finish could have been built up to a little better and maybe could have used some more nearfalls. I liked the match though and thought it was good.

Khan is buried under the US flag after. We go to break and see Gary Jackson talking. He chants "USA". Drew starts an "SICW" chant. Herb Simmons gets on the mic after and they have words for Stephen E. Stephen E is shocked they lost and Travis Cook is in pain. A bunch of people are in the ring. Gary says Stephen E has money but could not buy SICW. Ron thanks everyone and says SICW is staying here. Danny says they proved you can use brains over brawn. Some of Herb's family members talk on the mic.

Gary says Herb came up with the plan and they executed it. Herb says Stephen E can get on his camel and hop off. Ron says htye have a good family here and came together then kicked the heels @sses. Herb says to stay tuned as he has decisions to make.

We go to break. We then see the SICW roster popping champagne and celebrating in the back. Everyone gets sprayed with it. They cheer for Team SICW winning. Herb says his team proved they will defend SICW. Herb says Haku and The Barbarian couldn't get it done. Gary says they had back-up tonight from the SICW roster. Danny says they proved if you have heart and determination you will always come out on top.

Herb says there will be SICW Fanfest III on May 16th and 17th. Herb says Nikita Koloff will be there.

Herb then closes the show and says we'll see more clips from the 11/23 show next week.

Overall thoughts: There was only one new match here but it was the big one so it's hard to complain. They didn't have to show it but they did and it was nice to get some payoff to the long SICW vs Stephen E feud. The one match was good and heated and it's always nice to see Haku and The Barbarian get in the ring. I thought they did a good job of putting over the victory and making the match feel important. I enjoyed this one and it's definitely one to see if you follow SICW.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 11/17/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 11/17/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/11/southern-illinois-championship_11.html

Drew Ebenhaus and Lucky P Larson welcome us to the show. Drew runs down the card. Larson suggests it could be the last time we see Drew on commentary if Team SICW loses control of the company at the next big show.

Richard Shaw vs Jaquan Wright

JW = Jaquan Wright

Shaw pushes JW over and poses. JW wristlocks him then Shaw reverses it. JW rolls and flips through it then reverses it. Shaw hits a uranage for 2. JW is thrown hard into the corner then Shaw side slams him for 2.

Shaw misses a corner charge. JW running euros him in the corner. JW hits corner punches. Atila Khan runs out and nails JW. Atila then nails Shaw as well. Khan double throat thrusts Shaw then slams JW. Shaw takes shots then The Big Texan comes in. Texan and Khan trade shots. Peyton Ayres then comes out and pounds on Texan as Wright and Shaw leave.

Peyton and Khan choke and pound on Texan. Bobby D saves Texan and hits shots on Ayres. Texan throws Khan out then Ayres is thrown out.

Thoughts: I thought for sure Shaw was going to get his first win in a long time on this one but it was not the case. It was a shorter match but it was nice to see one that was a toss-up result wise. The brawl after was fine and something a little different. It's not often that the first match breaks out into a wild brawl.

"Big" Joe Helms and Bobby D vs "Roughcut" Rick Ruby and "Superstar" Steve Fender

Steve nails Joe while he's on the apron. Joe asks for Bobby to tag him in. Steve boots Joe in the gut then side headlocks him. They shoulder battle. Steve slips out of a slam then Joe shoulders him over. Steve crawls to the corner and Ruby tags in.

Bobby and Ruby go at it. Bobby hammerlocks him then dropkicks him in the arm. Joe clubs on Ruby. Joe and Ruby collide and Ruby hits punches and kicks. Joe corner lariats Steve then stomps on him in the corner.

Bobby airplane spins Steve then fights with Ruby on the apron. Steve atomic drops Bobby and kneelifts him. Ruby suplexes Bobby and foot chokes Bobby. Bobby sunset flips Steve for 2. Steve knees Bobby in the gut then russian legsweeps him for 2.

Ruby hits a shot to the gut of Bobby then rakes his eyes on the ropes. Bobby spinning heel kicks Ruby. Joe is tagged in. He lariats Ruby over then corner splashes him. Steve corner splashes Ruby on accident. Ruby takes a bubba bomb then a sliding lariat from Bobby. Bobby pins Ruby and wins.

Thoughts: Poor Rick Ruby really got run over here a couple of times. It was a decent tag here with a hot tag spot and a clean finish. Ruby had a decent showing here and they used Joe well for this.

Joe hits shots on Steve after.

Drew interviews Stephen E., Peyton Ayres, Atila Khan and Lillith Khan. E says he begged Herb Simmons to take the contract a few weeks ago but he spit in his face. He said Herb told him to get out of town and he did, but he's back. E says his investors aren't happy and when they aren't happy, no one is happy. E says we've got a big match on 11/23. He says Devastation Inc walks out with SICW. E says SICW will be his and the Public Investment of SICW. E says when he controls SICW, Drew will be fired. He says Travis Cook will be appointed Director of Wrestling and says they will do things that has never been done before. E says he'll be the one calling the shots here and says he will control SICW. E says ask Lillith Khan and Drew asks if he can. E says you can't say nothing to her.

Khan grabs Drew's tie and Drew says, "please don't kill me". Drew talks about E being handcuffed to Bob Orton Jr. during the match. E says you can stack the deck against him but it won't work. E says Orton can't even stop his team.

E then shakes hands with Travis Cook.

Travis Cook does a video at a poker table. He says SICW's show will look different next week. He says we'll see new lighting and graphics. He says we'll see some changes in talent. He says there's always been local guys who don't move the needle like Big Texan, Jayson Breed and Curtis Wylde. He says the locals like them but they don't move the needle nationally. He says we'll see new talent that is marketable and talented. He says the staff on the show will see changes too. He says Drew Ebenhaus is not a classically trained broadcaster and says there's play-by-play announcers all across the country and said they will search for the new voice of SICW. He says he may have to step in to do commentary. He then brings up Destiny Lynch and says she looks like a deer in the headlights sometimes. He says she'll be replaced. He says there will be a lot of changes happening but it'll be exciting. He says we'll start next week on the new SICW All-Star Wrestling.

Thoughts: Gotta love it. Cook had a nice cheesy smile at the end of this too.

Billy McNeil vs Kaelin Thomas

Billy's hair has grown out a little and it's not looking bad. Billy side headlocks him. KT side headlocks him. KT armdrags him and Billy back elbows him. Billy bangs KT's head off the buckles and hits forearms. KT trips him and hits a double stomp. KT step up enzugiri's him for 2.

KT hits a nice dropkick then hits forearms. Billy forearms him back. They compare KT to Matt Sydal and Lucky says that makes him almost as athletic as him (Lucky). KT hits a crossbody off the buckles on Billy. Billy high kicks him then hits oblivion. Billy then top rope elbow drops KT on the back of the neck and wins.

Thoughts: It was a little more action packed than the usual offerings as both are smaller guys. We got a little flying here which was nice.

Danny Boy Hawkins, Drew Ebenhaus and Herb Simmons have a sitdown discussion. Drew says the time is up and everything has led up to this. Danny says it was one year ago that he went to an event as a spectator. He said he never would have believed we are at this point. He talks about Stephen E. bullying Herb and said Herb invited him to watch. Danny said that's where he offered a hand. He said that's how he started getting involved. He said all the interference that happened is when he knew he had to step up. He says Herb is like a second father to him.

Herb says the battle is over and it's time for war. Herb talks about how evil Stephen E is. He said Stephen E tried giving gifts to his wife and some of the production staff. He talks about Sam Muchnick and then mentions Stephen E's bad deeds. Herb says there isn't much he hasn't seen during his time in wrestling.

He says the war is on November 23rd. He says Gary Jackson hasn't forgotten about what he has been taught. Drew says this could be Herb's last time as the promoter and asks for Herb's message to the fans. He says the war happens on 11/23 and says if things don't go as planned then he has made a mistake. He reminds Stephen E that he will be handcuffed to Bob Orton Jr and won't be able to get involved. Danny says he's been in the ring with the best. He says he's not here to prove but to protect the promotion. He says SICW gave him a chance at 17 and will give the next 17 year old a chance as well. He says the promotion won't be destroyed by evil but by those who stand back and do nothing. Drew says 11/23 is the biggest event SICW has ever had. He says it'll either be a new day for SICW or the end of SICW.

"Night Train" Gary Jackson vs Payton Ayres

Gary is baked up in the corner off the lock up. Payton pounds on him in the corner then stomps and chokes him. Gary armdrags him then Payton shoulders him over. Payton hits a big splash for 2.

Gary double boots him out of the corner and hits forearms. Gary hits headbutts to the gut then Payton lariats him out of the corner. Stephen E punches Gary while he's on the 2nd rope. Gary back elbows him.

Payton clubs on him then stands on him. Stephen E chokes Gary with the flag outside. Payton slams him then headbutts him. Payton backdrops him. Payton front facelocks him then hits a big boot. Payton side headlocks him then Gary hits a jawbreaker. Gary does a cloverleaf on Payton. Lillith Khan comes in and eye rakes Gary for the DQ.

Payton nails Gary from behind. Payton chokes him. Stephen E joins in then Big Texan joins in. Atila Khan comes in then Danny Boy Hawkins comes in with a baseball bat. The heels then run off.

Thoughts: It was a pretty one-sided match here with Payton getting in almost all of the offense. Gary got a little in at the end before the dirty finish. It was what it was and wasn't just average.

Overall thoughts: This show was all about building up the 11/23 show. Pretty much everything was built around it. They did a good job of making me want to see the show so that was a success. I liked the tag match best on this one.I enjoyed the show though the in-ring work isn't always the best.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 11/10/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 11/10/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/11/southern-illinois-championship.html

Drew Abenhaus and Lucky P. Larson welcome us to the show. Kowalski vs Jayson Breed for the SICW Classic Title is the main tonight. Drew says things are picking up here and Larson says 11/23 is the last day we have to deal with Herb Simmons.

Curtis Wylde vs Jaquan Wright

Curt has Wildfire with him as usual. Curt is put in a waistlock and side headlock. JW side headlock takeovers him. Curt side headlocks him then headlock takeovers him. Curt side headlocks him and wristlocks him. JW rolls through it and headflips out. JW wristlocks him back and Curt armdrags him.

Curt hits punches then JW dropkicks him. JW trips him, handstands on his back and pendulum double knees him. Curt hits a big spear for 2. Curt does a low crossbody for 2. JW jawbreakers him and hits some forearms. Curt hits a spinebuster and picks up the win.

Thoughts:
It was a lot more even than I expected and a full match instead of a squash. This was a decent opener. Curt had a nice spear here and JQ was moving around well.

They shake hands after.

We then go to:

Loser waves the flag match, winner gets to choose the stipulation for 11/23 - Atila Khan vs Gary Jackson

We join this in progress. Khan is busted open and powerslams Gary. Khan fist drops him. Gary hits some punches then neckbreakers him. Gary hits some more punches and is tripped from the outside. Stephen E and Danny Boy Hawkins argue outside. E waves the flag at Danny as they argue and E drops the flag. The ref thinks E waved the flag and declares Gary the winner.

Danny Boy gets on the mic after and says E is dumber than he looks and says he pulled a fast one on him. He says Herb Simmons gets to name the stipulation for the 11/23 match. He says E should be handcuffed to Bob Orton Jr. during it. E tries to bribe Herb. Herb doesn't give in and says every fan wants to see him kicked out of town.

Drew interviews Danny Boy Hawkins. Danny says him, Herb, Ron Powers and Gary Jackson have been doing this for a long time. Danny says they executed their plan at the loser waves the flag match. Danny talks about Bob Orton Jr. being handcuffed to Stephen E. He says E has interfered in a bunch of matches. Danny says they will execute the plan in the next match as well. Danny says the match on 11/23 will be the most important match he has ever been in. He says they are considered the underdogs but they will not be beaten.

Herb talks to Chris Blair (racetrack owner) at the last SICW show. Herb talks about how fun it was to be at the racetrack. Herb then hypes up the 11/23 match and says SICW will bring the best in racing and wrestling in 2024.

We then cut a Lillith Khan match from the last show. Unfortunately, they don't tell us who her opponent is but she has Ms. Hyde written on her tights. The match is joined in progress and both girls get DQ'd. Stephen E comes in and complains.

Destiny Lynch interviews Kowalski and Lucky P. Larson. Lucky says Lillith Khan is good but says Kowalski is 7,000 tons of walking mountain. He says all Kowalski needs to do is hit one shot. He questions Jayson Breed wanting a match with Kowalski. He tells him to pay his life insurance and pre-pay his hospital bill because he will not walk out on his own power.

Glenn Williams vs Cade Maxen

Sean Vincent is with Glenn Williams. Cage step up knees Glenn in the corner and hits a slingblade. Cade hits mounted punches. Glenn back elbows him out of the corner and lariats him over. Glenn bots him in the corner and Sean hits a cheapshot on Cade. Glenn camel clutches Cade on the ropes and Sean poses. Sean then hits another cheap shot.

Cade ducks a lariat then neckbreakers Glenn for 2. Cage clubs on Glenn. Glenn knees him in the gut and Sean trips Cade as he runs the ropes. Glenn pulls Cade down from behind for 2. Glenn hammerlocks Cade then hammerlock ddt's him.

Cade misses a pepsi twist lariat and Glenn uranages him for a close 2 count. Glenn does a cobra clutch russian legsweep and gets the pin.

Thoughts: It was alright with Cade getting some offense in, making us think he had a shot here. Glenn then put him down as expected.

Drew interviews Glenn and Sean after. Glenn says if Cade keeps fighting like that, he has got a future. Sean talks about Glenn being the Central States champ forever. Glenn is asked about only defending the title once every 30 days. Glenn says there's contract laws and says he got a new contract when he won the title. He says his contract states he only has to defend the title once every 30 days. He says he's the one true star here and says if you want to see the title get defended, you have to pay the money to buy a ticket to see him. He says you won't see him defend it on the tapings because they are free.

Drew says Glenn has lost 2 non-title matches. Sean blames dirty refs for it. Glenn talks about an upcoming match with Bobby D. He said he beat him in a cage match and wonders how he is getting another shot at him. Glenn says he's the man and the cards are always stacked against him. Sean says the next match with Bobby D is it. Glenn says he wants new challengers after Bobby. He says to bring on new challengers or some legends. He then says he didn't forget about Orton or Buff hitting him. He says he's the champ around here and says he runs this place.

Promoter's Corner

Drew is in an empty ring and says we will see a different side of him. He talks about his history in SICW. He says wrestling has saved his life multiple times. He says Herb Simmons gave his card after his grandmother died. He says he still keeps the card. He says his mother passed away. He said he had health and girl troubles. He says he watched things he cares about being threatened by outsiders.

He sys he learned everything he knows from Herb and Larry Matysik. He says being close to Herb's family has saved his life. He says wrestling is the only good thing about him. He says SICW isn't what he does, it's who he is. He says Stephen E and Travis Cook told him he's gone if they win control of SICW.

He says he doesn't know what's next for him and says he hopes we will see him again. He says he wants to thank everyone if this is it. He says he's afraid of the locker room and even Destiny. He says 11/23 is a war for SICW. He says everything is at risk. He says SICW is the greatest thing that ever happened to him and says it will be devastating if Devastation Inc wins. He says he hopes everyone will be there to be with them.

SICW Classic Title - Kowalski (c) vs Jayson Breed

Lucky P. Larson distracts JB and Kowalski nails JB from behind. Kowalski hits him in the head then stands on his face. Kowalski clubs on him and hits a big slam. Kowalski chokes him then hits some crossface shots out of the chinlock.

Kowalski hits headbutts. JB comes back with punches and gets his eyes raked. Kowalski sits on him on the bottom rope. Larson chokes JB from the outside. Kowalski euros him.

JB hits shots to the but and hits some elbows to the head. JB has his crossbody caught and he takes a backbreaker for 2. JB boots him out of the corner then 2nd rope dropkicks him. JB flying shoulders him.

JB 2nd rope diving lariats him and clubs on him. Kowalski double axe handles him. JB flying kicks him then flying lariats him twice. Kowalski goes down. Larson hands Kowalski a tire iron. Kowalski nails JB with it and picks up the pin.

Thoughts: It was fine but had a dirty finish. Kowalski was the favorite here and pulled this one off as expected. JB didn't have a bad showing before going down.

Kowalski heads to the back and The Big Texan hits him. they get into the ring and fight. Texan hits a nice lariat and pins him even though this isn't a match. Kowalski wakes up after with a busted lip and the fight continues.

Drew interviews The Big Texan. Texan says what he did was to prove he can beat Kowalski. He says he got his blood on his arm. He says November is his birthday month and says there's no better present than winning back what is his - the Classic Title.

Overall thoughts: This was all about the big push for the 11/23 show. And they did a good job of making it feel important. The matches got a little more time than usual which I liked and they weren't completely one sided which I liked. It was a decent hour of wrestling as usual and I liked the show.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 11/3/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 11/3/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/10/southern-illinois-championship_29.html

They are not in the studio today and are showing matches from some of the recent events. Herb Simmons is on commentary alone.

Curtis Wylde vs Waco

Waco backs him up in the corner. CW then does it to him and Waco complains CW pulled on the mask. Waco hits some punches and CW fires back. CW lariats him the nback elbows him. Waco then goes out to stall.

Waco wants to test strength but Waco boots him. Waco drops down on CW's knee. Waco butt drops the knee. Waco leg lariats him on the ropes. Waco chokes him with the knee then knee drops the knee. Waco pulls on the leg. Waco chops him in the corner.

CW back elbows him and boots him out of the corner. Waco misses a corner charge and takes punches from CW. CW elbows him in the head. Waco eye rakes him and CW hits a uranage. CW then gets the win.

Thoughts:
It was an okay match here with Waco doing the usual heel stuff and CW making his comeback to win. The crowd was a bit into it which was nice and CW did a good job here as a face.

"Big" Joe Helms vs Shogun

Joe throws him off the lock-up. Shogun tries some chops then Joe clubs him. Joe hits chops in the corner then hits a corner splash. Joe hits a big boot then legdrops him for 2. Joe suplexes him. Joe does a cartwheel into a lariat.

Joe hits corner chops and misses a corner splash. Shogun hits some shots and Joe shoves him down from behind. Joe atomic drops him and back elbows him. Joe hits a TKO. Joe goes up top and diving shoulder blocks Shogun. Joe hits a chokeslam and gets the win.

Thoughts:
It was nice to see Shogun get some offense in for a change and not be immediately squashed. It was about average overall with Joe winning as expected.

"Roughcut" Rick Ruby vs Joe Vinetti

They lock up and Rick clubs on him. Rick hits chops. Joe ducks clotheslines and hits his own flying clothesline. Joe dropkicks him. Joe is sent to the apron then he slingshot rolls into a flatliner.

Rick chokes Joe then hits an overhead belly to belly suplex.

Rick leg lariats Joe on the ropes then misses a splash. Rick chokes Joe then foot chokes him. Joe hits punches then is knocked over. Rick hits corner lariats. Rick misses a corner splash and Joe top rope dropkicks him for the win.

Thoughts:
It was about average. Joe didn't get a ton of offense in on this one but did win here as expected as Rick doesn't usually win a lot.

Glenn Williams vs Jayson Breed

Sean Vincent is with Glenn as usual. JB wristlocks Glenn. Glenn reverses it and JB hammerlocks him. JB side headlocks him then shoulders him over. JB hits a cannonball in the corner. Glenn and Sean talk outside and JB goes after them with a cane.

Glenn stomps JB as he gets back in. Glenn hammerlock ddt's him. Glenn pounds on JB then camel clutches him around the middle rope. Glenn boots JB in the corner. Glenn suplexes him. Glenn sleepers him and JB running knees him.

JB corner splashes Glenn then misses a splash. Glenn then pins him with his feet on the ropes.

Thoughts: It was shorter than you would expect here. It wasn't much of note here with Glenn winning as expected.

Sean Vincent gets on the mic after and puts over Glenn. He says to stand when your champ is in the ring. Glenn gets on the mic. He asks Buff Bagwell if he's lost. Buff gets in the ring and says nobody knows or cares who Glenn is. Buff threatens him and they end up fighting. Glenn gets knocked down and the segment ends. It was really hard to hear most of this.

AIWF Title - Strap Match - Steve Fender (c) vs Gary Jackson

They have to touch all four corners to win here.Steve attacks Gary as he enters. They trade shots at ringside. Gary's head is banged off the apron. Steve's head is banged off the steps. Steve hits chops and punches. They get in and Steve whips Gary with the strap.  Gary is tied up in the ropes then Gary hits some punches and elbows back.

The ref is knocked over on accident but gets back up. Steve hits corner punches. Gary hits some punches and Steve fires back. They go outside and Steve is pulled into the post with the strap.

Gary chinlocks Steve. Gary rolls him up for 2. Steve stomps on Gary. Gary pulls Steve's neck forward. They fight over the strap. Steve hits chops and touches 3 of the buckles but is pulled back.

Gary back elbows him out of the corner then backslides him. The ref tells Gary there's no pins though so it doesn't matter. Gary elbows Steve in the neck then Gary hits Steve with the strap. Steve chokes Gary with the strap.

Steve whips Gary with the strap. Steve tries to hang him with the strap and chokes him as he touches the buckles. Gary touches the buckles as well with Steve not noticing. Steve goes for the last one and Gary stps him. Gary gets booed into the corner and touches the last buckle as he goes in. Gary wins the match.

Thoughts: It was mostly all punches, elbows and chops. They looked fine and all but there's only so much excitement in it. The finish could have been a little better.

Overall thoughts:
This show only had some matches from a past event. The big issue was that they didn't recap what lead up to the matches so it was hard to get invested and the matches came across as almost random. They also filmed the show from the balcony so we only got an overhead view of the action. While we could see everything, we couldn't get any close-ups or anything. I wouldn't recommend this one and found it to be tough to watch.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 10/27/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 10/27/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/10/southern-illinois-championship_21.html

Drew Abehaus and Lucky P. Larson welcome us to the show. Larson brags about managing the SICW Classic champ.

Joey Vinetti vs Jaquon Wright

JW = Jaquon Wright

Joey and JW lock up. Joey wristlocks him and JW reverses it. Joe side headlocks him and wristlocks him. JW rolls out of it and headflips out. Joe armlocks him then shoulders him over. JW trips him then does a handstand pendulum knee on Joe's ribs.

JW side headlocks him and Joe hits a lariat. Joe codebreakers him then hits a top rope dropkick to win.

Thoughts: This was a short but okay opener. JW's handstand pendulum double knee was neat and Joe's dropkick off the top looked stiff.

Brandon Baretta is interviewed by Drew. He says Glenn Williams lucked out last week, retaining his title after getting hit with a chair. He says it would only be right if he got another shot at Glenn's title. Brandon says he's coming for the title and says it will be on the line down the road.

Brandon says you gotta be a champion to get further in this business. He says what goes in the ring is on him and says next week is just a taste of what he has got for him.

Promoter's Corner

We cut to a clip from a show and someone named Brian Walsh is interviewed by Drew in the ring. Brian walks about the high school wrestling team and says this event helped raise some funds for it. He brought out some of the wrestlers and thanks everyone. Drew then talk about a person named Don Hyman who help put this together and leads a chant for him.

Cage Match - Special Ref: Bob Orton - Bobby D vs "Trending" Trent Daniels

Bobby hits Trent from behind to start then hits chops. Trent's head is banged off the buckles. Bobby snapmares him then slams him. Bobby double chops him. Bobby dragon screws Trent then suplexes him.

Bobby climbs the cage and misses a dive off of it. Trent sends Bobby into the cage head first. Trent stomps on Bobby then Bobby blue thunders him for 2. Bobby gets busted open and Trent foot chokes him. Glenn Williams comes down.

Trent climbs the cage and Bobby catches him. They fight on the top rope and Bobby gets crotched. Trent shakes the ropes up and down with Bobby on it. Trent clubs on him then hits a single leg codebreaker. Trent foot chokes Bobby on the ropes and climbs the cage. Trent takes a suplex off the cage.

Bobby hits punches and bangs Trent's head off the cage. Bobby powerslams him for 2. Trent tries to use brass knuckles. Orton stomps him then Bob pins Trent with a death valley driver.

Thoughts: I didn't like the finish. It's a cage match. You can't really get DQ'd or cheat. It doesn't make sense for Orton to take away the brass knucks in a match like this. Both guys took some big bumps here with Bobby missing a dive off the cage and Trent taking a suplex off the cage. I thought the selling could have been a bit better here but they did squeeze in a lot in a short time span.

Glenn Williams comes in the ring after and complains to Orton. He tries to punch him. Orton blocks it then nails him. Orton nails Trent too and Orton sends Glenn into the cage. Bobby then sends Trent into the cage. Orton and Bobby D then celebrate.

Curtis Wylde and Wildfire are interviewed. Curt says some would say the Classic Title should still be his. He says Atila Khan dodged him every chance he had when he had the belt. He said Big Texan deserved to hold the title and is a stand-up man. He says Kowalski has no morals or fear. He said Kowalski used to be his lackey and says he will understand why he always second fiddle to him. Curt says we are looking at the next SICW Classic champ.

Curt says he's ready for a fight and ready to make his prey his victim. He says he taught Kowalski a lot of things he knew and said he has two shoulders - one for his belt and one for Kowalski's belt. He says he will be a 2x SICW Classic champ tonight.

Drew interviews Danny Boy Hawkins and Ron Powers about the coward waves the flag match. Danny says he will not surrender and says they will have to kill him to make him surrender. He says there's a huge coward in this promotion and it's Stephen E. He says they will put him down.

Ron says glory walks hand and hand with Doom. Ron says Danny has Gary Jackson's back in the flag match. He says they know they are the underdogs. He says they've gotten the crap beaten out of them before but they stood up before. Ron says they will come to the match with a plan and says they will have a big surprise. Ron says Haku will never find anyone with more tenacity and guts. He says he doesn't care if Haku fought Orndorff or Hulk Hogan, he never fought them.

"Roughcut" Rick Ruby vs Bobby D

Bob grabs the leg but takes a coconut crush. Bob side headlocks him then Ruby backdrops him. Ruby clubs on him and bangs his head off the buckles. Ruby hits some shots then eye rakes him after they trade. Ruby back elbows him and elbow drops him for 2.

Ruby chokes him on the ropes with his leg. Ruby misses a legdrop and Bobby low lariats him. Bobby then crossfaces him and taps him out with it.

Thoughts: It wasn't that good and Bobby won as expected.

Destiny Lynch interviews Stephen E. E says Destiny is showing too much skin and needs to cover her face like Lillith Khan. E says everyone knows they aren't cowards. He says he is not waving the flag. He calls Gary Jackson a bum and says he will lay bloody in the ring if nobody waves the flag. He says they will walk out with their hands held high in the coward waves the flag match. He says he won't wave the flag if Atila Khan is bleeding or if his back is broken. He says all hell breaks out at the show.

SICW Classic Title - Kowalski (c) vs Curtis Wylde

Travis Cooke is on commentary for this one. Curt hits a bunch of punches on Kowalski and has him rocking on the ropes. Kowalski chokes him in the corner. Lucky P. Larson chokes Curt on the ropes then Kowalski chokes Curt there too. Kowalski stands on Curt's hair and pulls on his chin. Kowalski chokes Curt with his own hair.

Kowalski headbutt drops Curt for 2. Kowalski pounds on him. Curt back elbows him then knocks him over with punches. Curt chinlocks him. Kowalski then crossfaces him.

Curt step up enzugiri's Kowalski. Kowalski corner splashes him. Kowalski headbutt drops him. Curt hits some punches and elbows him in the head. Kurt hits a spear. Larson gets on the apron. Kowalski grabs a tire iron and hits Curt with it. Kowalski then pins Curt.

Thoughts: They moved around pretty well here and made it looked like they were going at it. Curtis showed some good fire and threw some good punches here as usual. I was fine with this one.

Overall thoughts: There was nothing must see here. I liked 2 of the 4 matches. The cage match had some bad logic to it but Trent and Bobby D took some good bumps in it. It was also nice to see something from a live event since anyone not in the area really only gets to see the build to the show only. The main was easily my favorite match of the night. It was an okay hour of wrestling here for SICW standards.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 10/20/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 10/20/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/10/southern-illinois-championship_14.html

Drew Abenhaus and Steve Fender welcome us to the show. Drew runs down the card.

Waco vs Atila Khan

Stephen E and Lilith Khan are with Khan. Waco hits a punch, Khan no sells it and Waco tries to beg off. Waco gets punched and foot choked in the corner. Khan double axe handles Waco as he hangs off the apron and Waco's head is banged off the apron.

Khan hits a fist drop and a headbutt drop on Waco. Khan cranks Waco's head then foot chokes him. Khan hits a double throat thrust then taps him out with a grounded cobra clutch.

Thoughts: It was a quick squash here with Khan getting the win as expected.

Khan and E put the Saudi flag on Waco after. Khan foot chokes Waco then chokes him with his hand.  Lillith Khan then gets some shots in as well as they leave.

Destiny Lynch interviews Brandon Baretta. He says he's been busy but is happy to be back. He says business has been picking up and going strong as he mentions going to OVW, the NWA and other promotions. He says his future starts today as he challenges Glenn Williams. He says Glenn did the unexpected and won the Central States title. He says Glenn won the title and now he's getting a shot. Brandon says he's been learning from world champs and becomes one tonight.

Payton Ayres vs Jayson Breed

Lillith Khan and Stephen E are with Ayres. PA backs up JB in the corner and misses a shot. They lock up and PA gets a punch in. PA eye rakes him then back elbows him. PA chest clubs him and I think Stpehen E gets a cheap shot in. PA chest clubs JB then Lillith rakes JB's face.

JB crossbodies him and is caught with a fallaway slam. PA chokes him. JB hits shots to the gut then punches. PA facekicks him for 2. PA chinlocks him. JB gets out with shots to the gut then hits punches on PA. JB corner splashes PA.

PA knees him in the gut and hits a double axe handle. PA rakes JB's face on the ropes. PA misses a charge in the corner. JB hits some lariats. Stephen E trips JB. PA hits a world's strongest slam and wins.

Thoughts: JB didn't have good strikes here on this one and it wasn't really what it should have been. It did get enough time though and the kids in the front row got into this.

We see clips of a Big Texan and Bobby D vs Atila Khan and Kowalski match with Danny Bow as the special ref. Khan throws D over the top and is DQ'd. Khan pounds on Texan then The LA Hustlers helps out. They handcuff Texan around the post. Danny starts fighting and is beat up on by all the heels. Haku comes out seemingly to make the save and he butts heads with Khan. Haku shoves him then they double lariat Danny. Khan and Haku then pound on Danny. Dany gets beat up on by all the heels then takes a kick from Haku. Various wrestlers then come out to help. Travis Cook gets on the mic say they buy what they want and take what they can't buy.

We then see the Travis Cook promo with Devastation Inc from weeks ago where he talks about promotions trying to fight Vince and not taking the buy out.

They talk about an upcoming Captain's Falls match on November 2nd and a 6-man tag on November 23rd. They say the 11/2 match is a match where the corner man of each wrestler feels their man can't go anymore, they wave the flag and end the match. Atila Khan has Stephen E. in his corner and Danny Boy will be in Gary Jackson's corner. The winner decides the stipulation for their team on 11/23.

Herb says it's like a last man standing match and says it'll be an all out brawl. He says we will find out who the tougher of the two men is. He says one of the people in the 11/2 match may not even make it in the 11/23 match. Herb says he has got a lot to lose on 11/23 and Drew says he hopes he knows what he is doing.

Promoters Corner

We see clips from a show where Buff Bagwell is brought out. Drew interviews him on the stage. Buff talks about the place being respectful but then says they can f**king smoke in here. Buff talks about getting paralyzed. Buff says he's 2 years sober. Buff talks about wrestling in St. Louis. He says he and Scott Steiner wrestled and talked about them burning a St. Louis Cardinals jersey and Drew asks how he left St. Louis alive. Buff then talks about where you can find him online.

Lucky P. Larson and Kowalski are interviewed by Drew. Larson says Kowalski may hold the Classic Title 500 years. He talks about the various titles Kowalski won and says he's a triple crown champ. He said he walked through Big Texan like a knife through butter. He said he did it all on his own and said he walked through Big Texan. He tells Curtis Wylde to bring a howitzer if he wants to shoot his shot at Koawalski. He says he aill avalanche all over him.

Kowalski says he is a walking hell and said he told Texan to count his days as champ. He says no one takes down The Kingpin.

Glenn Williams vs Brandon Baretta

They lock up then lock up again but still get nowhere with it. Glenn side headlocks him then Brandon reverses it. They shoulder battle. Brandon flying shoulders him three times then corner pslashes him. Brandon then bulldogs him. Brandon charged him in the corner and goes into the buckles when Glenn moves. Glenn stomp flurries him then hits punches in the corner.

Glenn corner facekicks him and boots him out of the ring. Sean Vincent bangs Brandon's head off the steps outside. Glenn overhead suplexes him. Glenn hammerlock ddt's him. Brandon hits some shots out of the corner then 2nd rope diving shoulderblocks him. Brandon is rammed into the ref on accident. Glenn then nails the ref on accident and Glenn is sent into the ref on accident. Brandon TKO's Glenn and the ref is still down.

Brandon tries to wake the ref up and takes a low blow from Glenn. Bobby D comes in and ends up using a chair on ref. The ref sees it and DQ's Brandon. Brandon is confused and argues with Bobby about it.

Thoughts:
Brandon looked good here. This had a messy finish and some of the ref bumps weren't done that well. I'm curious as to where things go with Bobby D and Brandon as they were having issues after Bobby ran in and it felt like something is going to happen there.

Overall thoughts: They replayed some footage from prior eps so there wasn't as much new content here as usual. The main had a messy finish and everything was about average here. I wouldn't recommend this one though I didn't mind watching it.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 10/13/2024

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 10/13/2024

Last wee's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/10/southern-illinois-championship.html

Drew Abenhaus and Lucky P. Larson welcome us to the show. Larson has the SICW Classic Title and is showing it off as we learn Kowalski beat The Big Texan for it. Larson says Kowalski is a triple crown champ in SICW and says he has won all titles in SICW.

They run down the card.

Joey Vinetti vs Cade Maxen

Cade waistlocks him and Joey throws him off. Joey armlocks him and Cade ropebreaks. Joey side headlocks him then shoulders him over. Cade leapfrogs and Joey hiptosses him.

Joey armdrags and dropkicks him. Cade ducks a lariat and hits a slingblade. Cade step up knees him in the corner then running neckbreakers him for 2. Cade hammerlocks him then misses a lariat. Joey hits some lariats. Joey top rope dropkicks him and gets the win.

Thoughts: It was a quick one here with Joey losing as expected. They kept it moving and Cade got some offense in before going down.

Joey offers a handshake after and Cade ignores it.

Drew interviews Herb Simmons. They say Glenn Williams is the new Central States champ, beating Bobby D and Herb congratulates Herb. Herb says Bobby D has nothing to be ashamed of and will be back in the title hunt soon.

Herb implies Big Texan wasn't focused leading up to the Kowalski match. He says if they hadn't had the contract signing, maybe he would have won. Herb says Texan will be chasing the title again though.

They talk about a contract signing for a match involving Danny Boy Hawkins, Ron Powers and Gary Jackson vs Khan, The Barbarian and Haku at a recent show. They also talk about a coward waves the flag match coming up and say they will discuss it later. Herb says he has put the fate of SICW in the hands on Ron, Danny and Gary.

"Roughcut" Rick Ruby vs J'quan Wright

I've seen Wright's name spelled two different ways so I don't know which is correct. Ruby misses a charge and takes a bunch of forearms. Wright lariats him then hits a nice dropkick. Ruby lariats him over then clubs Wright. Ruby leg lariats him on the ropes. Larson makes fun of Drew for saying Texan held the title for 500 years earlier.

Ruby suplexes Wright then clubs on him. Ruby hits a backdrop into a uranage. Ruby hits a nice legdrop and gets the win.

Thoughts: It was a decent squash here with Wright showing some fire and a dropkick and Ruby bringing some heavy offense.

Travis Cook and Stephen E are interviewed by Destiny Lynch. E says today isn't a good day as the contract signing didn't go the way it was supposed to. He says his investors have more money than anyone in the state. He said Herb had him sign a contract for the Barb/Haku/Khan match. E says they will take the company during the match.

Cook says brings up that it would have been Skandor Akbar's 90th birthday recently if he were still alive. Cook says Akbar formed Devastation Inc in the 80's. He said Akbar mentored E as a wrestler and a businessman and eventually sent it over to him. Cook says expansion is everything in the world of business. He says Devastation Inc is expanding into promotions and says SICW will die if it doesn't expand.

Cook says they weren't prepared for what happened at the contract signing. He rips Gary, Danny Boy and Ron Powers. He says the three of them face Khan/Barb/Haku. Cook says if this is going to be a war then it will be a war. Cook says they gave him a chance to do this the easy way and they turned it down. Cook says they will own SICW and replace Destiny with someone who doesn't show as much skin as she does.

We join this in progress and Glenn hits a big uranage. Glenn hammerlocks Bobby then hammerlock ddt's him. Glenn pump kicks him for 2. Bobby hits gutwrench suplex for 2. Glenn goes out and gets chopped by Bobby. Glenn is backdropped on the apron and Bobby legdrops him there for 2.

Thoughts:
We only the tail end of this one as it was joined in progress but what we saw didn't look bad. The crowd really liked it.

Glenn Williams and Sean Vincent are interviewed by Drew Abenhaus. Glenn says "what a time to be alive" and shill an energy drink. Glenn says he earned the sponsorship like he earned the title. Glenn says he wasn't shocked he won. He says him and Bobby D have been going back for months. He says it's poetic that he is holding a title that Sean Vincent made so famous.

Glenn said he took Bobby D to his limit and Drew says he took a pedigree on a table. Glenn says he slipped. Glenn said Bobby slipped into their trap in their match. He says he's the rookie of the year and is the SICW Central States champ. Glenn says it's The Big Nasty Era and says he's running The Big Nasty Era's Tour. He says to feed him anyone and says he fears no man. Promoter's Corner

Drew Abenhaus is with Bobby D. They talk about Bobby's upcoming match this Saturday in a rematch against Glenn Williams. Bobby says his foot was in the ropes and Sean Vincent interfered. He says The Shriner's want a cage match and asks to have their match become a cage match. Drew says it'll be up to the booking committee. Bobby says no one can run or interfere and it'll be a clean match.

Drew interviews Glenn Williams. Glenn says he got sponsored last year and says with great power comes great responsibility. He says everything is done on his terms. He says he has never done a cage match. Glenn says "sure" to fighting Bobby in a cage but wants to make it interesting. He says let's go old school with it and make it escape rules only. Glenn says he will be the winner. Drew says they don't usually do cage matches under those rules. Drew says it sounds like Glenn is trying to run from Bobby D. Glenn says he's a trendsetter and wants to do something for the first time in SICW. He says it's the only way Bobby gets a shot at his title.

Drew interviews Herb Simmons about the possible cage match between Glenn Williams and Bobby D. Drew asks what he thinks about making it official. Herb says if Shriner's want a cage match, they will give them one. Herb says if Bobby wants that, he will make the match. H e says Bobby wants to whoop the tail of Glenn Williams and makes the match official.

We go back to the studio/arena and Drew interviews Bobby D. Bobby said he had Glenn tapping out in the sharpshooter then Sean interfered. He said his foot was in the ropes too. He said what is done is done. He says he's been watching and studying Glenn and will beat him. He says he will be on point like a pencil and take his title back. Bobby says he's mad and he doesn't care who he has to take it out on in his match tonight.

Bobby D vs Peyton Ayres

Bobby waistlocks him and Peyton rope breaks. Bobby side headlocks him then works his arm. Peyton forearms him over. Stephen E chokes Bobby on the ropes. Peyton misses a move on the ropes then takes a dragon screw on the ropes.

They fight over a suplex and Peyton suplexes him. Peyton chokes him in the corner and rakes Bobby's back. They say Lillith Khan will make her in-ring debut this weekend. Bobby dropkicks Peyton in the knee and works the foot.

Peyton misses a corner charge then Bobby rolls him up for 2. Bobby clubs on him then ddt's him. Bobby kicks him in the leg and dragon screws him. Bobby sharpshooters him. Stephen E interferes and hits Bobby with the riding crop. Peyton Ayres is DQ'd.

Thoughts: Bobby worked the leg some up until the dirty finish. It made sense but the finish brought it down.

Overall thoughts: They talked a lot about a contract signing that set up stipulations for a later show but we didn't get to see the contract ceremony, which made that tough to follow. They hyped up some stuff for the show this weekend and we got a lot of interviews. There was nothing must see wrestling wise on this one. The commentary was good as usual and while I enjoyed it, I wouldn't recommend it.

Drew Abenhaus and Glenn Williams welcome us to the show. Glenn shows off Billy McNeil's hair that he has in a bag. Drew runs down the card.

JB is really getting fit and is turning into a tank. Cade slingblades him to start for 2. JB rolls him up for 2. Cade hits forearms in the corner and a step up knee. Cade neckbreakers him for 2. Cade knees him in the gut. JB blocks a sliced bread and hits a ddt for the win.

They shake hands after.

Thoughts:
They had some sloppy moments here. I think they had the right idea but it was just not their night. Breed should have thrown Cade around a bit more.

Trent Daniels and Glenn Williams are interviewed. Trent talks about Glenn winning against Billy. Glenn syas he always gets called a cheater and Trent asks how can you cheat in a No DQ match (referencing the one he had with Billy). Glenn says they got some wins lately and wonder when they will get their tag title match. Glenn says he has Billy's hair and wants his title. He also shouts out Sean Vincent who he says is suffering from "Canadian poison ivy".

Gary misses a corner charge then running facekicks him. Trent snapmares him for 2. Trent is taken over by the leg and then Gary does a texas cloverleaf variation. Gary then picks up the win via submission.

Thoughts: It was pretty average for the most part. There was nothing that particularly stood out here.

Glenn Williams threatens Gary from the commentary desk after. Glenn calls the crowd alcoholics.

Drew interviews Stephen E., Lucky P. Larson and Lillith Khan. E says Devastation Inc and Dogtown Underground are on top of the ladder. E says Herb Simmons needs to sign SICW over and get it over with. E promises to take over and do big things. Laron says him and E have taken over SICW. He tells Herb to sell the company to them. He says the company can only improve if E runs things. Larson says Lillith Khan is on every magazine in the middle east including "Ankles Monthly" and "Mongolia Yearly". Larson offers his legal advice in the sale of SICW to Stephen E. E says Larson will be the legal advisor for this company when this deal is done.

E says Drew will be fired and says Glenn Williams will be the head commentator. Larson says him and Glenn will make the ratings explode. E says they will bring, smoke, pyro and move the company to Dubai.

Thoughts: As expected, this a fun promo.

Big Joe Helms vs "Roughcut" Rick Ruby

Ruby charges him and hits boots. Joe's eyes are raked on the ropes. Joe ducks a lariat and then hits his own.  Joe clubs on Ruby then hits punches and chops. Joe corner splashes Ruby and hits corner spears.

Ruby lariats Joe in the corner then running knees him. Ruby foot chokes Joe. Ruby back elbows Joe then elbow drops him for 2. Ruby foot chokes Joe in the corner. Joe hits an impressive bubba bomb. Joe hits a nice top rope diving shoulderblock and wins.

Thoughts: I liked the finish here and the bubba bomb onto Ruby looked good. Joe threw some really bad strikes here though that need to get fixed.

SICW Classic Title - The Big Texan (c) vs Waco

This is from one of their recent racetrack shows and is outside. This is outside so we get someone performing in the background.

Waco is backed up and yell at the ref to get Texan off. Waco slaps him. Waco tries it again when he backs him up but Texan hits punches. Texan hiptosses him then corner splashes him. Texan chops Waco up outside.

Texan clubs on him. Waco hits a double throat thrust and chokes him on the ropes. Waco leg lariats him on the ropes. Waco chokes him with tape. Waco hits shots from the buckles then is pulled off off them into a lariat for the win.

Thoughts: This was unusual with someone playing a song over the match. The match wasn't bad and was definitely stiff. You could really see the shots connect and they timed it about right.

Kowalski runs in after and beats up on Texan. Kowalski misses a splash and stands on him. Kowalski pounds on him. Kowalski eye rakes him then misses a vader bomb. Kowalski runs away as Texan goes for a lariat. Texan hits some shots outside and hits him with a title belt.

Peyton Ayres and Kowalski vs The Top Guns (Brandon Beretta and Joey Vinetti)

Stephen E and Lucky P. Laron are with the heels. Joey and Ayres lock-up and Joey is put in the corner. Ayres throws Joey across the ring and hits a nasty forearm. Ayres chokes him. Kowalski corner spears Joey then double throat thrusts him.

Kowalski pounds on Joey in the corner. Kowalski presses the ropes into Joey then Lillith Khan chokes Joey. Joey's neck is catapulted into the ropes. Ayres and Kowalski choke Joey in the corner.

Kowalski throws Joey and we are told Stephen E and Herb Simmons shook each others hands at ringside. Kowalski splashes Joey then hits a nice chokeslam. Ayres almost nails Kowalski on a failed double team. Joey rolls up Ayres then crucifixes him.

Joey slingshot sunset flips Ayres. Joey rolls at him and takes a big uranage. Ayres steps on Joey. Joey step up enzugiri's him. Brandon is tagged in.

Brandon hits a nice flying lariat on Ayres then Joey is dropped onto Ayres. Ayres takes a double shoulderblock then Brandon sentons Ayres. Brandon suplexes Ayres. Ayres takes elbow drops.

Kowalski stops a rocket launcher. Ayres throws Brandon out and nails Joey on the apron. Brandon's head is banged off the apron. Kowalski does a wrist-clutch half-nelson suplex on Brandon then misses a splash.

Brandon 2nd rope diving shoulders Kowalski. Joey dropkicks Kowalski three times but he won't go down. Joey misses a top rope dive and Kowalski hits a vader bomb on Joey to win.

Thoughts: I liked this one. Ayres had a good showing here with some nasty forearms and Kowalski moved well. I think something went wrong on the rocket launcher spot but it wasn't a big deal. It was a solid main.

Ayres beats up on Brandon outside.

Overall thoughts: I liked the main and Waco/Texan here. They continue to focus on the storyline of SICW maybe being sold to Stephen E. I was expecting a bit more out of Helms/Ruby but at least the finishing stretch was nice. It was an easy to watch show and it was fine overall.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling 9/29/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/09/southern-illinois-championship_23.html

Drew Abenhaus and Lucky P. Larson welcome us to the show and run down the show.

Sean Santel vs Bobby D

They lock up and Bob wristlocks and headlocks him. Sean wristlocks him and Sean fireman's carry takeovers him. Bob armdrags and armlocks him. Sean side headlock takeovers him. Bob hammerlocks him and Sean reverses it. Bob fireman's carry takeovers him. Bob lifts him up by the arm then Sean does a shoulder throw on him.

Sean does an armlock and Bob side headlocks him. Bob hits a fisherman's suplex out of nowhere and wins.

Thoughts: It was a little slow but they had a technical match with Bobby winning with a surprise move. I did like the finish here and technically it was fine.

Curtis Wylde and Wildfire are interviewed. Curt says Billy McNeil isn't out here as he is getting focused in the back. He says Billy is described as fun loving and crazy but says Billy is violent tonight. He says Billy isn't happy about the haircut. He says he didn't come out with Billy during his hair match as Billy's a man and had a beef to settle. Curt says Glenn Williams couldn't get the job done by himself. He says when you take a man's hair, you take some of his identity and manhood. He says revenge will be sweet as they pick Glenn and Trent apart. He says tonight is personal and says they take their identity and manhood. He says tonight they get good for Billy.

Thoughts: This was a really good promo here by Curt and put over Billy getting his hair cut well.

The Big Texan vs Richard Shaw

Shaw nails Texan as he poses then he pounds on him in the corner. Texan hiptosses him and slams him. Texan stomps on him and throws him out. Kowalski comes out and slaps Shaw to try and hype him up. He asks him what he's doing and Shaw fires up.

Shawn runs in and flurries on Texan, then bites him. Texan boots him out of the corner and hits a big lariat to win.

Thoughts: It was short but fun with Shaw hyping up and then getting stopped right after. Poor Richard Shaw man.....one of these days he's gonna get that W.

Promoter's Corner

Herb Simmons interviews The Big Texan. Texan says there's some kind of contract signing on October 5th. He says he feels like he has been doing great things for SICW. He says it's a great company and says he heard Stephen E. is getting his claws into Herb. Texan asks him what he's fighting for and what's going on.

Herb says there will be an agreement. He says E doesn't have his claws in him and Texan asks about the photos online of Herb shaking hands with Stephen E. Herb says his health hasn't been too good and said he missed his first show recently. He says everyone reaches a point where they have to make tough decisions. Herb says he's getting hit from all directions. He says an NDA has been signed. He said sometimes you have to make a deal with the devil to better what you have. Texan asks if him if that's why he gave Herb's wife a bracelet.

Herb says that was a surprise. Herb says he can't disclose everything and said a lot of people are calling him about this. He says he's not giving in but says SICW has to continue and says it will continue on. Texan isn't happy with the response. He says he won't be so proud of SICW if a guy who throws fireballs and injures wrestlers at the helm.

Herb says his attorney will be there and expects Lucky P. Larson to be there for Stephen E. He says to concentrate on his match. Texan says it will be hard to do that until he knows his situation. Texan says many people have Herb's back.

Herb talks about an agreement being signed on 10/5. He says everyone will have time to take it in and says Texan will have time to take it in. Herb tells him to concentrate on his match and said he hopes everyone will understand if it happens the way it is supposed to happen. He says everyone makes wrong choices and if this is one of them, he has to live with it.

Texan tells him to think long and hard before the decision comes out and tells him to think long and hard about this. Herb says SICW needs a champ it can be proud of.

Thoughts: A little lengthy but it definitely made you want to see what's going to happen on 10/5.

Kowalski, The Professionals and Lucky P. Larson (The Dogtown Underground) are interviewed. Larson says Big Texan has run as far as he could but the big iron man has caught up with him. He says the Classic Title is coming home to The Dogtown Underground. He says Texan tried to escape last time and can't run this time in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Larson says he knows Kowalski is the next SICW Classic champ. Larson says he doesn't want to talk about being handcuffed to the ring during it and tells Herb to extend the belt so it can fit around Kowalski's waist.

SICW Tag Titles - Curtis Wylde and Billy McNeil (c) vs "Trending" Trent Daniels and Glenn Williams

The faces jump on the heels to start and the four pair off to fight. They all go outside and Glenn/Trent are sent into each other. Billy chokes Trent with his knee and hits forearms. Curt boots Trent in the gut then slams him. Billy elbows Trent off the buckles in the bck of the neck.

Billy goes after Glenn and gets him from behind by Trent. Glenn sliding lariats Billy and Trent pounds on Billy. Trent pulls Billy's arms back. Glenn single arm ddt's Billy. Trent footchokes Billy in the corner and chops him.

Glenn works on Billy in the corner and Trent chokes Billy there. Billy pumping knees Glenn. Trent suplexes Billy then Billy hits a step up enzugiri. Curt hits punches on Trent then back elbows him. Billy suplexes Trent.

Billy uses the ropes to bulldog Trent for 2. Trent eye rakes him then takes a chinbreaker. Curt spinebusters Trent for 2. Curt spinning backbreakers Trent. Billy ha Glenn tied up in the ropes. The ref tries to stop it and Billy pushes the ref, causing a DQ. Billy beats up Glenn while he's tied up in the ropes then stands on his neck. Glenn is laying on the 2nd rope and Billy elbow drops him off the buckles as another ref comes down to stop this.

Billy attacks Glenn more after.

Thoughts: They got this one right here with Billy going after Glenn and being willing to be DQ'd for it. It made sense and fit the storyline of Billy wanting revenge on Glenn for the haircut.

The Big Texan is interviewed. He has 2 belts here as he's the SICW Classic champ and the Shriners champ. Texan says he's been the face of SICW for over a year and did it without cheating, stealing or lying. He says anything goes on 10/5. He says when you are the champ, you gotta stay on top of the mountain and he's not falling down. He says he will pin Kowalski like he has done many times. He talks about the contract signing that Herb is doing.

He says he's been kicked out of many companies but Herb let him in. he says he can't imagine working for someone else. He begs Herb not to do anything with Stephen E. Texan says he doesn't want to work for Stephen E. and may be a disgraced champ if that were to happen.

Kowalski vs "Night Train" Gary Jackson

Gary ducks Kowalski to start. Gary hits elbows to the head and headbutts him. Kowalski misses a corner splash and Gary hits more shots to the head. Gary jawbreakers him and hits forearms. Kowalski blocks an irish whip and lariats him. Kowalski misses a big splash then Gary rolls him up for 2.

Kowalski rams him in the corner then Lucky P. Larson chokes Gary from the outside. Kowalski chokes Gary and hits a big slam. Kowalski legdrops Gary's arm then stands on it. Kowalski his double throat thrusts then hiptosses him.

Gary hits shots to the gut. Gary gets his knee up on Kowalski's corner charge then chokes him on the ropes. Gary coconut crushes him then dropkicks him in the corner. Gary knee drops Kowalski. Gary gets his feet up on Kowalski's charge. Kowalski goes back and falls into the ref.

Peyton Ayres and The Professionals come out to beat up Gary and triple stomp him. Big Joe Helms comes out to help Gary. Ron Powers and Danny Boy Hawkins then come out with chairs and the heels leave.

Thoughts: It was a simple, slower paced match and wasn't too interesting. It was pretty much there to lead to the faces chasing off the heels at the end.

Drew interviews Gary, Danny, Ron and Joe. Ron says he doesn't know what he will do at this point but tells Herb to watch what he signs and to watch his back. Danny says we've got unity and says they've got the equalizers in chairs for the heels. Danny says he will be there for Herb. Gary runs down his rules saying they will win, won't lose and will be there for Herb then says "don't forget the rules". Gary says they have Herb's back and will take him to the promised land. Joe agrees and says tells Herb to watch what they are signing. Ron says to line them up as they will knock them down.

Overall thoughts: It was a good show. They really hyped up the 10/5 show well and made you want to know what the announcement is going to be. I liked the tag title match best here and the Shaw/Texan match was entertaining.
