WWE Smackdown 9/19/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/09/wwe-smackdown-9122025.html

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/09/wwe-smackdown-9262025.html

We are in Toledo, Ohio. Corey Graves and Michael Cole are on commentary.

We see various wrestlers arrive. The commentators talk and Cole told Brock Lesnar wants to do an interview right now.

Cole heads to the back and Brock comes out to meet him in the aisle. Brock picks up Cole on his shoulder. He carries him into the ring and pushes him down. Cole begs and Brock grabs him by the tie. Corey Graves comes in and tries to stop Brock. Brock F-5's Corey and leaves him laying. Brock grabs the camera and says he's coming for Cena. He says it's D-Day tomorrow and he's coming for blood.

Brock throws around the Prime Hydration Station. Refs come to check on Corey and Brock scares them away. Brock then F-5's Corey and leaves.

Thoughts: This was something different and a way to get Brock some heat. It worked and made him come off as unpredictable.

Corey is out of it and ref and officials come out to help him.

Brock runs into Paul Heyman and The Bron's in the back. Brock tells Paul they should talk and pats him on the chest.

Nick Aldis walks by. He tells The Vision that today is not the day. He says he needs 2 signatures for the main event of Wrestlepalooza and he doesn't need any more programs. Paul says he came to breaker a peace between The Bron's and The Uso's. Paul asks where The Uso's are and Nick says they aren't here. Paul sucks up to Nick and says they will just enjoy the show.

Cole comes back to commentary alone. Cole says he's been doing this a long time and has never felt as helpless as he did out there tonight. He says if that's awaits Cena tomorrow, he doesn't know if Cena has answers.

WWE Women's Tag Titles - Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss (c) vs The Secret Hervice (Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre)

Flair armdrags Green off the lock up. Green cheapshots Bliss on the apron then is forearmed down by Flair. Bliss flipping sentons Green then Flair shoulders Alba over. BLiss flipping sentons Alba. Bliss is tripped and basement dropkick by Green. Bliss' head is banged off the post.

We go to PiP break and return. Bliss knees Green in the face. The Miz has joined Cole on commentary. Bliss goes for the tag and Flair is pulled down. Green bangs Bliss' face off the mat. Bliss' head is banged off the buckles. Green hits corner spears on Bliss. Green misses a conrer charge.

Bliss tags in Flair. Flair lariats Alba twice and chops her. Flair forward handspring lariats Alba. Flair facekicks Green off the apron. Alba rolls up Flair for 2. Flair superkicks Alba. Flair sends Alba into the buckles.

Alba superkicks Flair. Green sliding lariats Flair from behind. Alba top rope swantons Flair for 2. FLair stops a double suplex then Flair and Bliss hit stereo natural selection's to win.

Thoughts
: The Hervice had no chance here and it was just a matter of how quickly they lost. The faces didn't get a ton of  offense in on this one and it was just a shorter match.

B-Fab tries to make peace between The Street Profits. She says if they want tag gold, they gotta get past whatever this is and get to whatever is best for The Profits. Michin comes in. She says Nick is ready to talk to them about the women's tag title match and takes Fab away.

The girls leave. Ford says they will always be good and says he will ask Aldis how they can get their tag titles back. They then do a handshake.

Bo Dallas comes up behind Dawkins. He says Ford doesn't want to hear what he has to say but he will listen. Ford grabs Bo and asks what he's trying to do. Bo says he's here to guide lost souls on a quest to find the right path. He then laughs. Erick Rowan then drops The Profits with shots to the body. The Wyatt's then leave.

R-Truth is running a merch stand in the back with ESPN on a sign. He talks to Los Garza. Angel asks what he's doing. Truth says he's a tech guy and is showing people how to use the ESPN app to watch Wrestlepalooza. Berto asks where he can find the app and Truth shows him how to use it. Angel says what if he has already has ESPN with his cable and Truth tells him to use his cable log in (that wasn't true if you had some providers as of yesterday). Berto asks what if you don't have cable and he tells him where to go. He says he will then show them how to turn a microwave into a hot spot.

Thoughts: Yeah, this was what it sounded like and was very obvious shilling. The main problem is that they were pushing that people with cable can just sign in to watch ESPN+ for free but that's not true for millions of people. It definitely will affect tommorrow's viewership numbers and get a lot of people mad.

Fraxiom come out for a match and The Vision jumps them and throws them out. Paul Heyman then talks. He says Fraxiom reminds him of The Uso's - down, out and flat on their back. Paul then talks in Samoan. Fraxiom then attack The Vision and do topes outside. Nick Aldis comes out and says Paul's crew has their hands full. He says if you start a fight on his show, you finish it and he says they will fight now.

The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed) vs Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom)

This started during the break. Bron needs Ax in the gut. Bron overhead throws Ax. Bron running lariats Ax. Reed headbutts Ax then slams him. Reed sentons him. Bron suplexes Ax.

Ax dropkicks Bron. NF gets in and hits Reed with forearms. Reed misses a corner splash and is stunnered over the top. NF springboard dropkicks Reed then superkicks him. NF top rope splashes Reed for 2. NF misses a phoenix splash and takes a death valley driver. Reed goes up top and is enzugiri'd by Ax. Ax is thrown off the top into a Bron spear. Reed top rope splashes NF and pins him.

Thoughts: It was essentially a quick squash here with The Vision winning as expected. Ax getting thrown off the top into a spear was cool. Fraxiom were so fast here.

Paul gets on the mic after and announces his men as winners as a spoiler for Wrestlepalooza.

The Uso's appear on the tron. They are at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They say they are going against the best team in the game tomorrow and say welcome to the Uso Penitentiary.

We see clips of various WWE wrestlers on ESPN.

Nia Jax comes out to talk. She says she's sick of being in Toledo. She says it's embarrassing that the women call themselves the alpha females when she is the alpha female. She says Tiff Stratton is annoying and that's why she got put in a Tiffy time out. She says that's why she didn't make NXT Homecoming.

She says if she could trade appearances with anyone, it's Jade. But she says if Jade could trade in-ring ability with anyone, it's her as Jade could use it. She says Jade is fantastic until she has to get in the ring. She says she's the most dominant and the alpha. She says she will annihilate the storm any time.

Tiffany Stratton comes out. She says everyone is sick of Nia running her mouth about her. Tiff says nobody wants Nia near the title. She says Jade can take the cape off as she isn't a superhero or here to save anything. She says she's the one and only women's champ and there's nothing Nia can do about it. Refs then try to stop Tiff from coming down.

Jade Cargill comes out and hits the ref. Guards try to stop her. Nick Aldis comes out and says there will be severe consequences if another punch is thrown. Nick says next week, the title will be on the line in a triple threat match.

R-Truth tells Rey Fenix and The Motor City Machine Guns how to download the ESPN app for Wrestlepalooza. Truth then looks at his phone in a toaster.

WWE United States Title - Sami Zayn (c) vs Carmelo Hayes

Sami wristlocks Melo. Melo reverses it. Sami throws Melo over by the arm then side headlocks him. Melo dropkicks him. Melo pounds on him. Sami drops him with a punch. Sami hits mounted corner punches.

Melo's throat is pulled down over the top rope. Melo hits the blind springboard legdrop over the 2nd rope on Sami. We go to break and return. Melo back elbows him and legdrops him for 2.

Melo hits forearms and chops. Sami lariats him. Sami 2nd rope double axe handles him. Sami hits mounted corner punches. Sami tornado ddt's him for 2. Sami michinoku drivers him for 2.

Melo pumping knees Sami. Melo goes for a top rope frogsplash and Sami gets his knees up. Melo superkicks him. We go to break and return. Melo superkicks him.

Melo blocks a corner exploder. Melo slingshot ddt's Sami on the apron. Melo top rope forgsplashes Sami for 2. Melo jumping codebreakers him for 2. Melo suplex lifts him into a cutter. Melo does a blind springboard ddt. Melo misses a nothing but net. Sami facekicks him and blue thunders him for the win.

Thoughts: It was a decent match. They both flew around a lot and kept a fast pace. This was a junior heavyweight style match and they did a good job with it. Sami won but it seemed like Melo had a shot at taking this at times. One of these days...

Kit Wilson talks to Nick Aldis. Damian Priest comes in and asks where's Aleister Black. He says Black attacked him as he entered last week. He says if he wants the real him, he's got him. DP says Nick and everyone else will deal with a punisher if he doesn't get Black. Kit talks about DP having a fragile ego and says DP is toxic. DP then throws Kit through a wall. He tells Nick to give him Aleister Black. Nick then talks on the phone and says he will need medical.

We get a video on Brock vs Cena with them talking about their histories.

Solo Sikoa talks. He talks about Tonga Loa being the only loyal soldier he has left who has never betrayed him. He says he sacrificed his body and is the son of Haku. He says Haku is the most dangerous man on the planet and it makes Loa dangerous. He says he owes it to him to make him a champ and let him down. He says the loyalty will be rewarded as long as he is part of his family tree. Loa says, "I love you, Solo".

Nick Aldis is in the ring for the contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. Drew comes out and goes to talk. Cody comes out before he can say anything.

Cody asks if Drew knew what happened on this day 15 years ago? He says they won the tag titles. He says nobody talked about it backstage. He says the world doesn't revolve around them. He says its not his or Drew's story but the fans' story. He says sometimes fans don't know the lore and want to see the best fight.

Cody says in the Drew slayed the beast and is the Scottish warrior. He says lately, he's just been a keyboard warrior. He tells him to pull his phone out. He tells him to make a post on social media and get one over on him. Drew then tweets, "Thank You, Cody". He shows him it. Cody asks what it means.

Drew says all he wanted was a shot at the title. He says Cody is a company guy and a fighting champ. He says Cody thinks for the company and is the corporate champ. He says that used to be a bad thing. Drew says the fans will turn on Cody and move onto the next flavor of the month. He says Cody will sit in Drew's chair and say Drew was right.

Cody says say Drew is right and wrong. He says his legacy could become the man who lost to Cody. Cody signs the contract then Drew does as well. Drew then headbutts Cody down. Drew flips the table and Cody goes out. Drew hits punches on Cody and bangs his head off the commentary table.

Drew goes to kick Cody's head into the commentary table but tells him he won't. He says the match is happening tomorrow and he's taking the one thing that means the most to him - his title. Drew and Aldis argue in the aisle. Cody hits punches on Drew in the aisle and refs and officials try to break it up. Drew running facekicks Cody outside and stomps him in the face. Drew says to sleep with the title as it is the last night he will have it for a long time.

Thoughts: They didn't have much time for this and it wasn't very noteworthy with Drew dropping Cody.

Overall thoughts: It's the last SD before a PLE and generally, these aren't that notable. That was the case here. We only had three matches here and one was just a little above a squash. Kit Wilson got thrown through a wall by Damian Priest. They set up a women's 3-way title match for next week. The Miz did commentary and they did some very blatant and partially incorrect shilling for the Wrestlepalooza show on ESPN which many people won't have access to. Brock Lesnar also beat the crap out of Cole and Graves. I'd give this a 4 out of 10. It was a very skippable show, as a lot of Smackdown's have been lately and there was absolutely no reason to watch this.
