She says AJ is forgetting who she is and says she was a Diamond's champ. AJ says it's different being behind the desk. Kirby and Sammy K are on commentary. They run down tonight's show.

King of the Summer Battle Royal

Note
- They had no intros for some of the wrestlers here and a lot of people I hadn't seen before.

Genesis holds up the book of Genesis and is thrown out. Richard Holiday gets some chops in the corner. Someone named Bud Gator is sent out. Hans Steel is superkicked off the apron by Javi. A Canadian wrestler is sent out. Holiday tries to send Javi out. Vaquero is then thrown out by Savage King.

Chad Sky Walker stands on Holiday in the corner. Savage King hits corner spears on Rudy Garza. Quentin Wynters sends out two people at once (Johnny Lyons and Ajax). Savage King chops up Sky Walker. Javi sent over the top but holds on. Will Austin tornillos off the buckles then is facekicked out by Wynters.

Cam Cole pulls out Sky Walker. Savage chops up Wynters in the corner. Cam Cole piefaces Javi and is shoved. Cam double throat thrusts him. They trade shots. Cam runs into his boot and takes a half-nelson suplex. Javi lariats him, can't get him over and throws him over the top. Cam then pulls Javi out under the bottom rope and sends him into the post.

Holiday hits Savage while Wynters hits Garza. These are the final four. Rudy comes off the buckles, is caught and pulls down Wynters with a flatliner. Holiday double underhook backbreakers Rudy and sends him to the apron. Savage spinebusters Holiday and Wynters.

Savage throws Rudy out. Wynters dropkicks Savage to the apron. Wynters misses a facekick on the ropes and they fight on the apron. Savage knocks Wynters down to the floor. Holiday thinks he has thrown Savage over the top but he hasn't. Savage spears Holiday. Holiday then throws him out using the mask.

Thoughts
: It was your usual battle royal and it wasn't anything too great. A lot of people had trouble making it over the top rope for some reason here which hurt some of the eliminations.

Clay Roberts is interviewed. Clay says he's undefeated at Summer of Champions. He says these are the moments he's born for. He says people are worried about numbers in the best of 5. He says this is about something bigger than the numbers. He says wrestling used to be about being your own person and now it's NIL. He says the men behind him understand and says they are focused on the results. Clay says he and his crew will find a way tonight. He says the numbers aren't in Semsei's favor. He says, "We are TAP and you will tap".

Best of 5 Series, Match #5 - Semsei vs Clay Roberts

They lock up. CR shoulders him over and goes for a pin. Sem side headlocks him then shoulders him over for 2. They each hit chops. Sem goes up and over then armdrags him.

Sem walks up the buckles, rope walks then diving armdrags CR. Sem dropkicks him. CR is thrown out. They fight on the apron. CR suplexes him in. Sem is laid on the top rope and dropkicked out. CR rams his back into the apron edge.

Thoughts
: I thought it was just average and just didn't love this one. I thought it could have maybe used a little more time.

Gaspar Hernandez arrives. He says his opponents aren't ready for him and the belt is coming home with a real Texan. Max Castellanos tells his girl that after he wins the title, they will head to Cancun and get the hell out of Texas. Matty Ice says everything comes together tonight. He says Texas is his home away from home and the people of Texas and ROW are his people. He says he wants to let his actions do the talking and says let's go to work.

ROW Texas Title - Gino Medina (c) vs Matty Ice vs Gaspar Hernandez vs Max Castellanos

All 4 fight to start. Gas is hit with a corner spear then Ice splashes him from behind. Gas hits a double suplex on Gino and Ice. Gas misses a facekick then is dropkicked and basement dropkicked off the apron. Max is then thrown onto him.

Gino and Ice trade forearms. Gino backrolls him for 2. Max then lariats Ice. Max powerslams Ice for 2. Ice running brainbusters him. Gas corner splashes Gino and corner lariats him. They botch a chokeslam counter and Gino takes a wild looking fall into the mat. Gino enzugiri's Gas out.

Gino and Max trade. Gino diving headscissors Gas from the apron. Gino tope con hilos all 3 opponents outside. Gas facekicks Gino. Gas slams him for 2. Max pulls the ref out on the count then backcrackers Gas.

Ice rock bottoms Max. Ice hits an elbow drop. Gino superkicks Max then Gas lariats Gino. Ice rock bottoms Gas then elbow drops him. Ice spinning samoan drops Gas for 2. Max spinning ddt's Ice then pins Gino holding the tights.

Thoughts
: They didn't hit some of their spots clean here and as with most multi-man matches, there were a lot of people coming in and out at a fast pace. I think it was still acceptable in the end though I do think it also needed more time.

Richard Holiday celebrates outside. He says that's how he does it. He says this has been his summer all year long. He says he's the best wrestler on the indies. He says he's the man and you can't argue that. He says he gets a title shot of his choosing and pities the current champ. He says the title is on layaway and they are just renting it.

ROW Glory Title - Steel Cage Match - AJ Francis (c) vs Chandler Hopkins

This has escape the cage rules.

They talk trash and lock up. Chan is pushed in the corner. AJ ries to escape and is pounded on. Chan hits leg kicks and dropkicks him. AJ pops him up in the corner and Chan tries to escape. Chan's top rope moonsault is caught. Chan runs at him and is sent into the cage. Chan then gets rammed into the cage twice.

AJ splashes him against the cage twice. AJ then presses Chan's face into the cage. AJ misses a splash and goes into the cage. Chan jumps off the top onto him, gets caught and hits a swinging flatliner. Chan rolls and gets caught.

AJ suplexes him into the cage then holds on to turn it into a gordbuster. Chan superkicks him in the gut, handsprings and is caught with a spear. AJ is hurricanrana'd into the cage then Chan rolls into a flatliner on him.

Chan tries to crawl out of the cage. AJ grabs him. Chan brings his lasso with him inside. AJ swings at him and Chan lasso's him. Chan handspring enzugiri's him then buzzsaw kicks him. Chan tornado bulldogs him using the cage. Chan climbs up top and is pulled down with a powerbomb.

They fight on the top rope. Chan bangs AJ's head off the cage then sunset bombs him down. Chan hits a top rope ssp on AJ. Chan climbs the cage and Quentin Wynters climbs the cage. Wynters punches him up top. Chan enzugiri's him off the cage. Chan gets up on top of the cage and does a top rope ssp.

Chan crawls out the door then Josiah Jean hits him in the head with the steel cage door. AJ grabs Chan and chokeslams him down. AJ then walks out of the cage and wins.

Thoughts: It was a great cage match here. They came up with some creative spots like the tornado bulldog off the cage, AJ getting tied up with a lasso, a suplex into the cage into a gordbuster and top rope ssp. Both guys took big bumps and the crowd was really into it. Chan lost due to the heels cheating so this is probably leading to a rematch down the line. I really liked this and I definitely think this one is worth checking out.

Overall thoughts: The main event was the only thing that really delivered here but if only one match is going to deliver, you want it to be the main. The main is definitely worth going out of your way to see as they came up with some creative spots and had a great cage match. The battle royal didn't really fo it for him and neither did Semsei/Clay. The four-way was acceptable but it was limited by the format. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall, most for the main.
