AEW Dynamite 9/24/2025

We are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Adam Page does a promo. He says Kyle Fletcher took him to his limit at the PPV. He sys he's still the AEW champ. He says he will be watching to see what Kyle does with this moment. He says he will fight the best wrestler Pittsburgh has to offer - Lee Moriarty. He tells Lee to bring his A-Game.

AEW Tag Title - Bandido and Brody King (c) vs The Gates of Agony (Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun)

Ric's crew does an inset promo. He says they put The Hurt Syndicate down. Ric says the trios were going to be next but Shibata is out, so they get a tag title shot instead.

Band gets up in Toa's uh chest. Band hits chops. Band dropkicks Toa twice. Band chops Kaun. Band its knocked down with a punch by Kaun.  Kaun suplexes Band. Kaun slams Band then Toa slams him too. King comes in and chops GoA. He forearms Kaun down. King pushes Toa into the post. King running lariats Kaun for 2. 

King is in tree of woe and is speared by Toa. King takes a backstabber into a 2nd rope diving headbutt. We go to PiP break and return. King takes a double backdrop. GoA senton King for 2. Kaun beats up King in the corner. King send GoA into each other in the corner and splash both. King cannonballs Toa. Band hits shots on GoA. He kicks down Kaun and evades Toa's punches in the corner before doing the macarena. Band corner dropkicks Toa. 

Band gorilla presses Kaun into Toa in the corner for 2. Toa butt drops Band off the bottom rope. Band takes corner attacks. King double electric chair drops the heels. Band misses a top rope splash and Toa throws King over the rail onto a table. Ricochet tries to use a chair and is ejected by the ref. 

Band is hit with a double spinebuster for 2. King topes out and Band does a 21plex on Kaun to win.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. Band really looked small here against GoA and him trying to muscle them around just didn't look right. It was a bit long for an opener and not really as good as it should have been. I don't quite get the logic of how a trios title shot can be turned into a tag title shot like we were told here since those are 2 different divisions.

The Conglomeration are interviewed. Mark tells Don Callis to bring his big guns and heavy hitters. Mark says they are about to whoop some @ss. Mark is asked who his partner is today. He says it's a mystery partner (and mystery is the word of the day). He makes an orange joke then a joke about putting on shades. 

Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron are interviewed. Harley does a big intro for Kris. Kris says she is beat up and a fighting champ. She says she loves Mina but someone has to be her first. She is asked about her association with The Death Riders and Kris says things can move fast when you make decisions. Kris then stares down Renee.

We get a video on Lee Moriarty.

AEW Title - Adam Page (c) vs Lee Moriarty

Another random one here. They shake hands. Lee escapes a hammerlock. Lee side headlock takeovers him. Page headscissors him and side headlock takeovers him. Page escapes a headscissors. Page pushes Lee down with a double knuckle lock. Lee snapmares him and rolls and headflips out of a wristlock. 

Lee back elbows him in the face. Lee side headlocks him then Page shoulders him over. Lee jumps up and is caught with a slam. Page running facekicks him. We go to PiP break and return.  

Lee chops Page. Page's neck is pulled down over the top. Lee springboard lariats him for 2. Page back body drops him and hits shots to the head. Page fallaway slams Lee then death valley drivers him for 2. 

Lee running euros him in the corner then does an octopus in the air. Lee does a border city stretch. Page hits a big lariat then wins with deadeye.

Thoughts: It was mostly technical wrestling here. The work was fine and Lee lost as expected in this random one. This wasn't too much of note and I doubt it'll lead anywhere.

We see a Cope and Cage interview from All Out. Cage has ice on the back of his head. Cope says he can't keep doing this as it is affecting his family. He says he can't keep doing it to them. He says he has to go and he doesn't know if he will come back. Cage says he doesn't have a family and tells him to take care of his. Cope says he does have a family and shakes his hand.

Tony Schiavone interviews FTR in the ring. Tony says they beating up Beth Phoenix was the worst thing he saw in an AEW ring. Cash says what happened at All Out kept him up at night. Cash blames Cope for bringing his friends and wife into this. He says Cope is the only person to blame. Stoke says he forgives Beth for what she did at all Out. He talks about getting speared and says he allowed Beth to do it. He says FTR is the greatest team of all time and says Beth doesn't even work here.

Dax says he won't apologize for dropping Cope and Cage on their neck and brain. He says he would never purposely hurt Beth. He said he tried to talk sense into Beth but she punched him in the nose and he thought it was Cope. He says he dropped Beth on her head on accident. 

Willow Nightingale comes out. She says it was a great apology. She said if they wrestled as good as they lied, maybe they would have won last week. Willow puts over Beth. She says women like Beth are the reason she doesn't take crap from guys like them. Willow tells them they can try the apology again or get out of the ring. Stoke says it's past Willow's bedtime. Willow slaps Stoke. Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey come out to protect Willow. FTR get dropped and Stoke is pulled out. 

MJF talks at All Out. He says he was once the biggest star in wrestling. He says he was the guy then Adam Cole can in his life. He says something is missing and he's not MJF anymore. He says he can't comeback until he stops seeing a fraud. He says Swerve and Hangman were once in his dust and now he's in theirs. MJF says he won't come back until he's the most dangerous he has been. He says he's taking back his spot his way when he returns.

The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Hologram and Orange Cassidy) vs The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero)

Don Callis gets on the mic before it starts. He says he's a world class painter and shows his artwork. He says he's been painting and will show off his new masterpiece. The painting is rolled out. Orange Cassidy is inside and has destroyed the painting.

The faces run down the aisle. OC dropkicks KT and Okada with his hands in his pockets. They then hit a double shot on him. 

Mark fights off the heels and lariats KT and Okada out. He then tope con hilos through the ropes on Okada and Holo tope con hilos outside. OC does a top rope plancha outside onto the heels. Mark hits mounted corner punches on Hech then Holo does too. Hech and Holo go at it. Holo armdrags him off the casadora then tilt-a-whirl armdrags him. Hech step up knees him in the corner and side slams him down. 

Hech does a half-straightjacket on Holo then he TKO's him. We go to PiP break and return. Hech dropkicks Holo in the knee. Holo armbreakers him over the shoulder then Hech slinshot elbow drops him. Holo headscissors Hech and then KT. 

Mark and Okada get in. Mark hits chops and forearms. Mark flying forearms him and corner lariats him. Mark fisherman busters him for 2. Mark lariats him down. OC comes in and hugs Okada. Okada clubs him and OC hits a stunner. Okada hits a neckbreaker over the nknee. Okada flapjacks Holo.

Okada and KT run into each other and stare down. OC does his weak kicks to both and does a double hurricanrana. Hech swinging hammerlock backbreakers OC. Holo top rope crossbodies Hech. Hech headscissors drops Holo and OC tornado ddt's Hech. Mark uranages Okada and takes a knee from KT. 

Holo does a cool flip in but is caught with a package tombstone. Holo no sells it and canadian destroyers him. Hech swinging hammerlock backbreakers Holo. OC orange punches Hech. Holo pins Hech with a spinning torture rack bomb.

Thoughts: The match was fine though I didn't care for OC doing his usual comedy routine. They did tie Okada's and KT's issues into this one some and Holo yet again picks up another victory. These matches are always decent.

Kyle Fletcher comes out after. He said he proved he belong in the main event at the PPV. He says he's a future champ. He says the next morning after the PPV, he felt the worst he ever did. Then he looked in the mirror and remembered who he was. He says he's on track to becoming the greatest TNT champ of all time. He says he sees dorks in the ring. He says Holo has the longest undefeated streak in AEW. He says Holo is 34-scared of Kyle Fletcher. He says he wants to get back on the horse by being the first man to beat him. He challenges him for next week. He says Holo will say his name when he beats him.

Mina Shirakawa is interviewed. She says her and Toni made a promise to each other to love and fight hard. She says Kris Statlander will get all of Mina. She says she fights or Mina and Toni and fights to win the AEW Women's title.

We get a video on the return of Jurassic Express.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs Claudio Castagnoli

Hobbs attacks from the start and hits a forearm flurry. They trade forearms for euros. Hobbs slams him multiple times. CC backdrops him. Hobbs slams him three more times. CC goes for a sleeper. They roll out together.

They trade forearms outside and Hobbs hits headbutts. Hobbs goes into the steps when CC moves. CC backdrops Hobbs on the rail top twice. We go to PiP break and return. CC is on Hobbs' back with a camel clutch and he gutwrench suplexes Hobbs for 2. They trade forearms. Hobbs corner splashes him. CC euros him then superplexes him for 2. CC hits strikes. Hobbs powerslams him. Hobbs hits a corner lariat flurry. Hobbs hits more slams. CC hits euros and lariats him.

Hobbs running lariats him. Hobbs slams him. Pac gets on the apron and CC euros Hobbs. CC then pins Hobbs.

Thoughts: It was a weak finish to an okay match here. We had tons of slams, euros and forearms in this one. I would have liked to have seen this go on and I'm curious as to how it would have ended without Pac.

Samoa Joe chases Pac away after. Hobbs lariats CC over the top. The Death Riders then jump Hobbs. Joe helps out Hobbs. dam Page comes out. 2 of the The Death Riders stupidly run on a 4v1 and Page takes out the other two.

Tony Khan has an announcement. Tony does his usual thing where he stares into the camera. He says they will crown the AEW Women's Tag champs soon. We then see the title. We cut to Renee, who then shows the titles off.

Thoughts: This is a bad idea. AEW has too many titles, few women's tag teams and little time for the women as is. This isn't going to help it. TNA and WWE haven't done that well with women's tag titles and I don't see AEW doing much better. AEW really only has 3 consistent women's tag teams right now - Ford/Bayne, Anna Jay/Tay Melo and Hart/Skye along with some people who are aligned but not regular teams (Athena/Starkz, Mina/Toni and Kris/Harley). They have a lot of work to do in that department and that work is better done long before a division is set up.

AEW Women's Title - Kris Statlander (c) vs Mina Shirakawa

Yuta comes out. Kris shoulders Mina over then Mina shoulders her over. Kris standing moonsaults her for 2. Kris side headlocks her  then Mina headscissors her into a russian legsweep. Mina ducks a lariat and shimmies. Kris backdrops her. 

Mina hits mounted corner punches. Kris single leg dropkicks her then running euros her. Mina dropkicks her in the knee. Mina drives Kris' knee into the floor from the apron. Kris is then sent into the steps and has her head banged off of it. Mina then corkscrews over the steps onto her. Kris backdrops Mina on the apron.

We go to PiP break and return. Mina slingblades her. Mina tornado ddt's her. Mina works the knee. Kris corner euros her and corner jumping knees her. Mina rolls her up for 2. Kris high kicks her then ki krushers her for 2.

Mina hits dragon screws. Mina top rope diving slingblades her for 2. Mina figure fours her. Mina hits forearms and kicks. Mina urakens Kris. Mina goes for a figure four, Kris boots her away then does a seatbelt pin to win.

Thoughts: Mina was consistent with the leg work a little here but she lost as expected. I thought it was average and nothing too memorable. This was a random one.

Yuta and Harley congratulate Kris after for winning. Claudio, Shafir and Mox then come down. Yuta hugs Kris and holds her arm up. Harley doesn't know what to make of all this. Kris lariats Yuta down. Shafir swings at Kris, Kris gives Mox the finger and runs. Harley then follows Kris.

Darby Allin then comes out with a flamethrower. The Death Riders stare down Darby and Darby shoots the flamethrower at him. Mox trips over the steps. Darby asks Mox when he will realize he won't quit. Darby wants an I Quit match with him at Wrestledream. They announce Darby/Kris vs Mox/Shafir for next week.

Overall thoughts: It was a very heavy wrestling edition of Dynamite. Most of it was fine but it was almost all random matches here with no build. The announcement of the women's tag titles was the big news here and I don't think it's a good move. They did alright with setting some things up here though for the future. I'd give the show a 5 out of 10. It was average for the most part and there were a lot of matches on this happening for no real reason.
