WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2/15/2022

The show opens up with Toxic Attraction texting each other. Mandy is at the pool. They talk about the show through texts.

Weaponized Steel Cage Match - Pete Dunne vs Tony D'Angelo

Dunne doesn't really get an entrance. Tony is driven in a maybach as the announcers argue over whether it was a legit purchase or not.

Dunne enzugiri's him then throws him into the cage. Dunne then breaks a chair over his back and Tony falcon arrow's him on a trash can. Tony hits him with a kendo stick then Dunne slams Tony's fingers in a tool box. Dunne then takes a wrench to Tony's fingers.

Tony tries to throw Pete over the cage then superplexes him as his body is on the top. Tony gets zip ties and ties up Dunne. Tony hits some punches and sticks the end of a hammer in his mouth and pulls. Dunne jumps on him and tries to triangle him with his arms tied up, but Tony powerbombs him. Tony then DDT's him for 2.

Tony picks him up for a powerbomb through a table and Dunne gets a guillotine choke. Tony then cuts off the zipties to cut himself free. Tony grabs a crowbar then gets powerbombed through a table. Pete gets his cricket bat and breaks it over Tony's back. He then hits the bitter end for 2. Tony low blows him and does a spinning brainbuster for 2.

Dunne find a crowbar and hits him with it. Dunne then hits another bitter end for the win.

This was a really good one. They did a little too many kickouts but it was short and violent with some cool spots.

Cora Jade was called by Raquel Gonzalez. She called her to wake her up at 5 to train for the Dusty Cup. We then saw them train in the gym. Cora had food and RG slapped it away. They then train at the park and RG says they will do it again tomorrow.

The announcers talk about the Dusty Cup. The Creed Brothers and Malcolm Bivens talk. They say they put in the work. they said MSK is only chasing green marijuana and said MSK won the Dusty Cup last year because they weren't in it. MSK then did a promo, saying they walked in as the new kids and walked out Dusty Cup champs. They said they would make history tonight.

We saw Hayes and Trick Williams arrive from earlier.

NXT Women's Tag Titles - Toxic Attraction (Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolan) vs Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta

India and Persia are wearing matching silver and get jumped when they enter the ring. T-A hits flips on them off the apron. Persia hits a fallaway slam then Jacy takes a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker into a lariat. Manyd gets up on the apron then Indi falls from the top rope to the floor. Mandy gets thrown out for trhowing Indi in.

We go to PiP break and return. Persia gets the hot tag and beats up Gigi then german's her. Persia puts both opponents on her back and samoan drops them. Perisa and Jacy roll outside then Persia goes into the steps. Jacy trips Indi getting in then they hit a high/low on Indi for the win.

This was just okay. Nothing too special but nothing to obad either.

Wendy Choo and Amari Miller are talking backstage and Wendy asks if she has a partner for the Dusty Cup. Amari says she has a partner though. Wendy gives her a thumbs up then puts it down and runs into Dakota Kai backstage. She asks if Kai wants to team up but Kai is talking to herself.

Grayson Waller and Sanga arrive with police for LA Knight's arrest. 

We see Briggs and Jensen at a bar. Briggs says Jensen owes him money for the Valentines Day dates. Jensen said it was nice and Briggs isn't happy. Jensen says he was told "he is like a little brother". They ask the bartender what this means and Jensen isn't happy to hear that he is friendzoned.

LA Knight arrives and Waller brings the police in. He showed the police what happened. Knight then shows his own evidence of Waller attacking him. Knight says the order says that Waller can't touch Knight. Waller said in Australia, these are one way orders then the police leave. Knight then beats up Waller and Grayson is thrown on him.

Persia and Indi talk in the back. They say it's not over and they can still win the Dusty Cup. Duke Hudson then brings Persia with him.

Tomasso Ciampa said Dolph thinks he is better than him because he has been down in NXT. Ciampa says Dolph has mistaken his loyalty for fear. Ciampa says this is his home.

Carmelo Hayes says he is NXT's breakout star. Trick confirms this and Hayes says he is the "A Champion"

NXT North American Title - Carmelo Hayes vs Cameron Grimes

Grimes gets money flying for his entrance. They trade holds early. Grimes hits a nice back body drop and then gets his leg whipped to fall on the apron. Grimes is laying on the 2nd rope and Hayes springboards backwards for a leg drop.

We go to a PiP break and return. Trick Williams interfered during the break. Hayes crossbodies Grimes and Grimes flips with him to slam him. Hayes and Grimes trade shots and Grimes hurricanrana's him. Grimes did a very stiff swinging drop on him. Hayes hits a big codebreaker then a springboard twisting lariat.

Grimes was posing and got back elbowed then did a jumping roll over Grimes' back just to get superkicked. Grimes hit some kicks and Trick distracted him. They blew a spot where Hayes was supposed to run into Trick then Grimes hit a top rope crossbody for 2. Grimes hit a running M. Bison spot on the apron and nailed Trick when Hayes ducked. Hayes then pushed Grimes into the barricade with him hitting his head.

Hayes did a la mistica drop and crossfaced Grimes. Hayes then won soon after with a top rope legdrop on Grimes' neck. This wasn't bad. The swinging side slam spot and the apron M. Bison stomp were the big highlights here, along with Grimes getting his head banged off the rail. The final leg drop off the top was also pretty good looking. The crowd loved this.

We get a hype video for the Creed Brothers vs MSK.

Io and Kay Lee Ray talk in the back. KLR wants her to team with her and she agrees. Io then grabs the bat and starts destroying stuff. Zoey Stark then runs in with a drink and Io smashes it. Io says she likes KLR.

Dusty Rhodes Classic Men's Finals - MSK vs The Creed Brothers

MSK got a DJ for their entrance that remixed the Dusty Rhodes theme and their theme.

Malcolm Bivens and Diamond Mine hyped up the Creeds and said "It's Diamond Mine forever". Bivens had a towel that said "Never give up" then on the back it said, "Nah, you should".

MSK double teamed Julius to start with kicks then a double stomp on the back. Lee then did a tope con hilo on Julius and landed on feet. Lee did a backflip move but was caught and hung on the ropes. Julius then shouldered him off the apron and he landed on the commentator's table.

We go to PiP break and return. Brutus goes into the bottom buckle face first. Nash then slides under him and does a german. Nash is on the apron and Lee pushes him while he does an SSP then Nash swantons Julius and dropkicks Brutus. Lee then sprial taps Julius for 2.

Nash hits a big double stop on Julius and Nash topes Julius but is caught with his fireman's carry slam move. The Creed's then got the win soon after when Julius hit a lariat on Nash.

This was good. The finish was a little sudden and the match could have gone longer, but the Creed's hit hard and MSK did their usual flips.

We got a Nikita Lyons vignette. She said she is debuting next week and said to watch out for the Lyons' roar.

Imperium did a promo. The crowd chanted "WALTER" and Gunther said he is setting his sights on the NXT Title match tonight as he wants gold. Solo Sikoa then came out. He said he doesn't care about the mat being sacred. He said on the island, he finds the biggest and baddest dude and slaps the taste out of their mouth. He then said he would wipe the mat with the ring general and make him his b*tch. Sikoa then walked back. That should be a good match.

Dolph Ziggler was interviewed. He said he's going to kick the door down to Ciampa's house next week.

Hayes and Trick talk in the back and run into Pete Dunne. Dunne says he is still N-A champ...for now.

NXT Title - Bron Breakker vs Santos Escobar

Bron lights a Vengeance logo on fire for his entrance.

Santos is thrown back early and gives Bron a big dropkick. Bron does a nice gator roll into a delayed vertical suplex. Bron blasts Santos with a lariat and Santos topes him soon after. Bron was then rammed into the steps.

Santos takes control for a little and running double knees Bron in the corner. Santos did a slow beat down and yelled that this is his time. He tried a punch but got blocked then Bron hit some punches and shoulders. Bron did a tilt-a-whirl drop. Mendoza and Wilde got on the apron and got hit. Wilde was lariated over. Elektra Lopez was on the apron then Dolph Ziggler came in and superkicked Bron, but Santos only got 2.

Ciampa went after Dolpg and they brawled. Santos did a tornado ddt and took a big spear soon after. Bron then gorilla pressed him into a slam and won it.

The heel section wasn't that great here but Bron's comeback was good and it was an okay main event.

Overall thoughts: A good show with 4 of the 5 matches being good and the women's match being passable.
