Sam Gradwell vs Kenny Williams
Kenny came out on crutches and in clothes. He said he had an accident and injured his knee. The GM said he had not heard of this but did hear that a pair of crutches were missing and said to start the match.
Williams got rushed and flurried with a big forearm and slam. He was thrown chest first into the buckles then grabbed Sam by the hair and hit a nice forearm. Kenny raked the eye and hit him in the injured leg, then did a rebound lariat. Kenny raked the back then used the ropes to jump on him while he was laying flat down. Sam hit some clotheslines and a big back body drop.
Sam hit a reverse STO for 2. Kenny tried to roll him up from the sunset flip position but Sam sat on him and won it.
This was short and fast paced and was good for what it was.
Kenny then nailed Sam with the crutch after and beat him with it. Kenny then grabbed scissors and cut off Sam's mohawk then kissed his head. Oh he's gonna pay for that. Kenny then laughed about it like a total jerk in a good segment.
Gallus was in the back and laughing at their segment from last week where they took over Supernova Sessions. Wolfgang wasn't happy and said they'd watch and see what he's going to do to Devin.
Xia Brookside was interviewed. She was asked if she considers herself a positive role model like Amale and flipped out. She said this isn't fair and her daddy (Robbie Brookside) would hear about it.
Dave Mastiff and Jack Starz talked. Dave told him he needs to do an hour of free squats to earn a jacket. It was revealed Dave forgot all about it and Jack did 2 hours of squats. Dave then said Jack has to replenish and had to eat some huge sleeve of cookies or crackers. In the third challenge, Dave forced Jack to streak and Jack said no, running outside the building.
Sam Gradwell went looking for Kenny Williams. He kicked open multiple doors and couldn't find him.
Angel Hayze vs Emilia McKenzie
Angel is a decent looking girl and kind of looks like Britt Baker. Angel hiptosses her and EM arm throws her. EM put a chinlock on her. Angel hit some nice forearms then a sling blade. EM hit a nice knee to the gut then a spinning neckbreaker. She then back body dropped her for 2.
Angel hit a big superkick and EM dropped her on her front from the wheel barrow position for the win.
Angel got most of the offense here and is still very green, but it's developmental and that's what this is for. This wasn't good.
Nathan Frazer was interviewed. NF said Die Familie needed to get a taste of their own medicine when he beat Teoman. He said he was scared against Ilja and said he can hang with the main eventers. He then challenged Ilja for the NXT UK Title.
Die Familie talked. Teoman felt like he let his crew down and said he isn't a loser. Charlie Dempsey said maybe the loss will bring them closer together and Teoman said nobody will stop them and that's a promise.
Myla Grace vs Stevie Turner
Stevie didn't clean break in the corner. Myla jumped over her back and armdragged her down. Stevie hit a Thesz Press for 2 and facewash kick while Myla was on the ropes. Stevie chinlocked her and Myla came back with some clotheslines. Stevie got sat on the 2nd rope and Myla 619'd her. Then she hit a nice tornado ddt off the bottom rope.
Stevie hit a step kick then hit a bad side effect to win.
This was a real short one with Myla mostly getting worked on. Myla looked better here than last week but both still need a lot of work.
Sid Scala said he was inviting Meiko Satomura next week to the ring and giving her a thank you gift for what she has done in NXT and Japan.
Mustache Mountain talked about being champions. They said they know how good Smith and Carter are then Smith and Carter said they would be the next champs. Trent said he was addicted to winning and said the titles will go back on the peak of Mustache Mountain.
Jordan Devlin vs Wolfgang
Wolf does a nice double arm takeover. Devlin runs into him and goes down. Devlin then tries to shoulder him and gets sent outside. They brawl outside. Devlin tries to slingshot in but is caught with a suplex. Devlin was on the apron and Wolf charged at him but went over the top and hit the rails. Devlin moonsaulted him off the apron and was caught but was able to push Wolf into the post.
Wolf sold the arm and Devlin fujiwara armbarred him. Devlin stood on Wolf's hair and pulled both arms. Wolf gorilla pressed him but his arms gave out, though Devlin just dropped like he would anyway. Wolf then tried a moonsault off the 2nd rope and Devlin had his feet up.
Devlin kicked Wolf's arm from the apron. Devlin did a nice slingshot tornillo into the ring on Wolf. Devlin kicked and slapped him around then took a great bump off a catapult to the outside. Wolf fired back with some nice punches then back body dropped him.
Devlin called timeout but was splashed then took a single axe handle from the top. Wolf then senton'd him for 2. Wolf went for a spear but got the turnbuckle instead. Devlin headbutted him then did a slingshot cutter for 2. They traded shots and Wolf hit a great spear. Wolf went up top but Devlin hit a big spanish fly on him...for 2. Devlin then hit a 450 for the win.
I didn't like the finish here at all as this was an otherwise good match. They just forgot about the armwork and Wolf not going down to the spanish fly from the top was bad. I liked the general of the story though as with a hurt arm, it was more believeable that Devlin could win.
Overall thoughts: This was just a so-so episode of NXT UK. I really only liked the opener.
