AEW WrestleDream Saturday Tailgate Brawl 10/18/2025

I reviewed WrestleDream here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/10/aew-wrestledream-2025-10182025.html

We see The Death Riders group up backstage and head to the ring.

The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta and PAC) vs The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Tomohiro Ishii and Kyle O'Reilly) and Roderrick Strong

RS backs on DG in the corner then is thrown backwards. DG side headlocks him. They trade chops. DG takes chops and kicks from RS and Kyle. Kyle armdrags Yuta. Yuta takes a chest kick + basement dropkick combo. Yuta slams OC. Pac legdrops OC off the buckles.

Pac flips over OC. OC armdrags Pac off the hiptoss then rolls him up for 2. OC puts his hands in his pockets and dropkicks him. Pac tilt-a-whirl backbreakers OC. TI and CC go at it and trade chops. CC shoulders TI over. TI suplexes CC and CC lariats him.

Yuta hits downward elbows on TI. TI is stomped on in the corner. TI double lariats Yuta and DG. OC double hurricanrana's those two then stunners Yuta. OC top rope diving lariats DG. OC tornado ddt's Pac. OC PK's CC. CC giant swings him. OC climbs onto CC's back and the faces do triple submissions.

CC airplane spin drops OC for 2. Yuta hits punches on Kyle in the aisle and DG sends Kyle into the rails. OC is double teamed on in the corner. Pac running boots OC. Pac cravates OC and OC armdrags him off. CC karelin's lifts OC.

Yuta stomps OC then suplexes him. Yuta elbow drops CC from the buckles. DG hits mounted corner punches on OC. CC chinlocks OC. OC hurricanrana's CC. RS comes in and leg lariats then uranage backbreakers DG. DG is pulled off the 2nd rope into a Kyle kick. Yuta takes a hiptoss backbreaker and a PK. DG is dropped onto Yuta.

CC double lariats Kyle and RS. TI comes in and hits germans on the heels. TI germans CC. Pac rebound germans TI. They forearm each other and OC top rope diving ddt's Pac. TI sliding forearms Pac for 2. CC throws RS over the rail then Yuta flying knees Kyle.

TI running lariats Pac. TI is clipped by Yuta then Pac flying knees TI for the win.

Thoughts: It was a long opener that went close to 20 minutes here. It was acceptable for the most part but not anyone's best work. OC screwed around as usual. Pac really didn't fly much here. This went a lot longer than it needed to.

Hook and Eddie Kingston vs The Frathouse (Griff Garrison and Cole Carter)

Hook has some new ugly tattoos. LFI do an inset promo. Sammy says they are in charge and not Eddie. Rush says when you mess with the bull, you get the horns.

The Frathouse are sent into the rails and beaten outside. Hook hip throws GG then GG takes a double shoulderblock. Cole hits a dropkick on Eddie. Eddie's head is banged off the buckles. GG corner splashes Eddie. Eddie back elbows him then 2nd rope shoulderblocks him. Hook and Cole fight. Hook lariats him and exploders him.

Cole and Eddie do stereo exploders. Jacked Jameson is thrown in and Eddie chops him. GG spinning forearms Cole when Hook movies. Eddie uraken's Cole and Hook submits Cole with the redrum.

Thoughts
: It was pretty much a squash here with The Frathouse losing as expected. It didn't do a lot but get Eddie and Hook on TV here and further this feud with LFI. W

We see The Costco Guys at a bar. They chant for the waiters to bring the food. They end up getting beaten up by Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero after Rocky asks if Mama Justice wants to go viral with him. The older Costco Guy is hit in the head with a tray.

Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron

Ford has a giant mallet with her.

Ford throws down HC twice. HC takes her down and hits mounted shots. Ford side headlocks her. Willow shoulders Ford over then hits corner lariats. Willow lariats Ford for 2. Ford takes corner attacks then a basement dropkick.

Meg and Willow fight. Willow rolls up Meg for 2 twice. Willow hits a double clothesline. The faces hit stereo step up enzugiri's. Willow drops HC onto Ford. Meg double suplexes her opponents. Ford top rope moonsaults onto the faces outside.

Willow is sent into the rails and Ford chest kicks HC outside. Ford chokes Meg on the ropes. Meg hits corner spears on HC. Meg slams her. HC takes corner attacks and a suplex. Ford moonsaults off of Meg's back onto HC. Ford chinlocks HC.

Megs chops HC then sliding lariats her. HC spinning ddt's Meg. Willow and Ford get in. Willow lariats her several times. Willow corner backsplashes her then hits corner lariats. Willow pounces Meg. Willow spinebusters Ford for 2. Ford hurricanrana's Willow. Ford is then thrown into a cutter on her for 2.

HC backcrackers Ford. Meg flying lariats HC. Willow death valley drivers Meg. Ford cutters Willow. Willow and Meg trade forearms. Meg pump kicks her then Willow lariats her off the ropes. Meg 2nd rope diving lariats both opponents.

HC rolls Meg out of the electric chair. Meg spears the post when HC moves. Willow cannonballs Meg off the apron. Ford hits some kind of GTS variation with a kick on HC. HC backdrops Ford. Willow doctor bombs Ford and pins her.

Thoughts: It was average. I don't love Meg and Ford losing but I'm not that surprised. It got a little more time than needed. HC got to do more than usually does here and did alright with it.

FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey)

We only have 4:25 for this. FTR beat up KK to start. KK evades them. Mike is tagged in and hits a top rope double dropkick. Mike boots FTR over then him and KK hit stereo dropkicks and stereo germans. FTR take double lariats over the top. KK and Mike hit stereo plancha's outside.

Cash catapults Mike into the steps outside. KK is in the front row and trades with Dax. He then springboard lariats him off the rail. KK dropkicks FTR off the apron outside. Dax lariats KK. Both teams do suplexes over the top to the floor. We have a minute left and they say to join them on HBO Max to see the finish.

Thoughts: We didn't get a finish for this on the pre-show as it ended on the PPV. I get why they did it as they wanted you to buy the PPV, but I don't know how many people really took the bait.

Overall thoughts: I was really surprised there weren't any real promos or interviews here. Those are necessary for pre-shows as they help hype up the show. The main was the big story on this one as you didn't get to see the ending unless you ordered the PPV. That took some guts to do and I don't know if it really paid off. The opener was the best thing on this one but there was nothing must see. I would just give this one an average rating with a 5 out of 10.
