We are in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tony Schiavone and Matt Menard are on commentary. 

Toni Storm comes out. She says Athena is a history making woman but she's annoying. She asks if she needs to spend all of her time attacking her and talks about Athena's various nicknames for herself. She goofs around and makes dirty puns as usual. She says she prays that she will be leaving Forbidden Door with her @ss print on her face. Athena tries to attack her but Toni catches her. Billie Starkz then helps out.

Athena hits her from behind and tells her to pray she doesn't care for the fraud she is. She says pray that she doesn't tell the people how much of an idiot she is. She says if AEW is where the best wrestle, why is Toni sitting at the top. Billie takes Toni to the ring.

Athena tells her Toni her days are numbered. She says she will take the division to new heights. She says it's time for timeless to become forever. She then takes Toni's spotlight and poses. Mina Shirakawa then comes out. She goes after Athena. Toni germans Billie. Athena wants to talk it out and dives onto security. They then escort her out. Toni then kisses Mina and picks her up.

We get a video on Page vs MJF. 

The Death Riders (Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta) vs Jetspeed (Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight)

The faces hit stereo plancha's while the heel's are entering. Mike chest kicks Yuta. Yuta takes a double hiptoss then a double gordbuster. Yuta then takes a double basement dropkick. Yuta hiptosses Kevin then rakes his eyes. Yuta throws Kevin backwards.

Mox comes in and boots Kevin in the corner. Kevin is thrown out then his head is banged off the commentary table. Mike's head is then banged off the commentary table. Yuta fisherman suplexes Kevin for 2. Mox punches and knees Kevin.

Yuta knee drops Kevin for 2. Yuta drops downward elbows. Mike tags in. Mike spin kicks Yuta in the gut, axe kicks him and chest kicks him. Mike running ssp's Yuta for 2. Mike chest kicks Yuta. Yuta splits Mike's toes and stomps his foot. Mike crane kicks Yuta. 

Mox takes a double dropkick. Kevin's dive on Mox is swatted away. Mox germans Mike on the apron. We go to PiP break and return. Mox backbreakers Mike. Mike armdrags Yuta and tags out. Kevin hits euros on Yuta. Kevin goes up and over him then slams him. Kevin does a splash for 2.

Yuta pounds on Kevin then Kevin dropkicks him. Mox and Mike trade forearms then chops. Yuta and Kevin then trade. Mox cutters Mike for 2. Kevin springboard lariats Mox. Mike PK's Yuta then standing moonsault double knees him. Mike buzzsaw kicks him for 2. Yuta is hurricanrana'd into a sitout powerbomb.

Mike and Kevin do stereo dives for 2. Kevin superkicks Yuta and Kevin backslides him. Marina Shafir pulls out Yuta and ends up getting sent into the steps. Yuta flying knees Mox on accident. Mike spinning high kicks Yuta. Kevin does a top rope 180 splash but Shafir distracts the ref on the count.

Mox hits a death rider ddt on Mike on the floor. Yuta low blows and back rolls Kevin to win.

Thoughts: It was a longer one it was pretty slow to start. It got a little better as it went on. I don't love Mox having trouble with people who are so much lower on the card than he is.

We get an old school music video of The Outrunners getting back to basics with "Brother Nature". They dressed up in army fear and workout then play frisbee. We also see them fish and roast marshmallows. This was fun and totally out of 1980's Memphis.

Ricochet vs Ace Austin

Ace left TNA a few months ago and is debuting here. AEW has a lot of people like Ace and it's hard to see him breaking out of the $100,000 All-Star Tag scene.

Ric shoves Ace and Ace shoves him back. Ace hits punches. Ace trips him and kicks him in the back of the head for 2. Ace dropkicks him. Ace handstands on the apron and kicks Ric. Ace misses a helicopter kick off the ropes.

Ace goes to springboard and the ropes are shaken. Ric elbow drops him. Ric stomps on Ace then does a Steve Austin elbow drop on him. Ric 619's Ace then springboard lariats him for 2. We go to PiP break and return.

Ace hits his helicopter kick off the ropes for 2. Ace goes up top and The Gates of Agony come out. Ace is crotched up top. Ric suplexes him down then running brainbusters him. Ric running ssp's him for 2.

Ric death valley drivers him for 2. Ace rolls him up for 2. Ric hits a flying knee. Ric gets crotched up top. Ace headscissors him off the buckles. Ace lariats him over the top. Ace then fosbury flops Ric and Kaun outside. Toa goes into the post when Ace moves. Ace backrolls Ric for 2.

Ric goes into Kaun on the apron and Ace gets a 2 count on Ric. Ric eye rakes Ace then pulls him down by the hair. Ric hits a spirit gun on Ace and pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like Ace losing here. There's no reason to debut him on a loss. The match was fine though with the two flying around and Ace doing his usual offense. He's not off to a good start in AEW though.

The GoA hit a T-gimmick on Ace after. 

The Hurt Business is interviewed. MVP says Brodido and FTR are fine tag teams but asks if they look like they care who wins. MVP says they will hurt whoever wins. Renee asks if they are on the same page after the drama with MJF. MVP says there's no drama, just the drama the idiots on the internet draw up. He says they are champs and will stay that way.

Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong are interviewed. They are asked if Cole being out plays into their match. Hologram and Tomohiro Ishii come in. Kyle says they will get back in their groove like The Conglomeration did. Strong says until he gets his hands on Kyle Fletcher, everyone will pay. Kyle tells Hologram that Strong is going through stuff. He says they are going out after and will have a celebration.

Paragon (Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong) vs Lee Johnson and Blake Christian

RS wristlocks Blake. Blake cartwheels out and reverses it. RS chops him down. Blake is double teamed in the corner and Lee is whipped into a chop. Kyle suplexes Blake for 2. Kyle then hits mounted shots. Kyle chest kicks both opponents down.

Lee takes a backbreaker + 2nd rope double knee drop. Lee hits forearms on Kyle. Kyle grounded guillotines him. Blake fosbury flops RS through the ropes. Lee PK's and standing moonsaults RS for 2.

Blake top rope diving lariats Kyle. Kyle knees Lee in the gut. Blake takes a uranage onto Kyle's knees. RS dropkicks Lee then backbreakers him. RS olympic slams Lee. RS hits running forearms on Lee. RS pumping knees him. Lee then takes a double team shot. Kyle flying knees Lee off the apron. Blake enzugiri's RS from the apron. Blake handsprings and runs into an RS jumping knee. Blake takes a high/low and is pinned.

Thoughts: I liked it. It was fast with a lot of athletic stuff here and it ended before it went too far overboard.

Ishii and Hologram come out and congratulate Kyle. Strong walks away and wants Kyle to come with him.

FTR is in the back and they have beaten up Bandido. Brody King comes in and fights with FTR. King throws Cash in the ring then lariats Dax into the ring. King chops down Dax then corner splashes both FTR members in the corner. Stokeley throws powder in King's eyes and King takes a shatter machine from FTR. Bandido's mask is then put on Stoke.

Skyflight are interviewed. Darius says Don Callis sent his crew after him. Sky lays a challenge out for next week. Leila Grey says they will f*ck him up. Daniels says she needs to put money in the swear job and she gives him $10.

100.000 Dollar Four Way Match - Penelope Ford vs. Kris Statlander vs. Anna Jay vs. Julia Hart

Hart did a rope walk headscissors on Kris. Ford did a handspring backflip back elbow in the corner. Anna 2nd rope diving blockbustered Kris. Kris had 2 girls on her back and dropkicked. Hart and Ford missed stereo top rope moonsaults at the same time. Anna hit a gori special. Kristhen ended up winning with a headscissors + armbar on Hart.

Thoughts: It was what you would expect. It didn't get a ton of time. They didn't botch that much which was good but with so many people involved, this was only getting so far quality wise. Anyone could have won this one.

Kris got jumped by Skye Blue and Thekla after. Queen Aminata came out to help. Tay Melo and Megan Bayne (with her headgear on) then came out to join the fight. Harley Cameron then came out with a chain on a bat and returned with a facemask on. 

Kyle Fletcher, Hechicero and Lance Archer do a promo. Kyle talked about Hiromu Takahashi appearing on Dynamite. He says his TNT title reign is just getting started. He says Hiromu will join a list of legends he mopped the floor with when they fight at Forbidden Door. Lance says he heard Skyflight challenge them. He says whether it's one or all of them, they will die. Kyle then says he hopes they keep making Don Callis proud.

Kris Statlander is interviewed. Kris throws popcorn in the air and says we won the big one with $100k. Harley Cameron comes in and jumps on Kris. She says she was inspired by her. Harley has 2 suggestions for how Kris should spend her money. Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta walk in. Mox says "d@mn right" and Yuta says great work out there.

Juice Robinson vs. Bryan Keith

BK armdrags JR then wristlocks him. JR side headlock takeovers him. JR shoulders BK over. JR armdrags and hiptosses BK. JR slams BK then leg lariats him. JR is thrown over the top.

We go to PiP break and then full break. JR back elbows BK out of the corner. JR hits punches on BK then lariats him. JR spinebusters him for 2. Austin Gunn and Big Bill fight outside. Gunn is sent into the rail then Bill charges into the rail when Gunn moves.

JR punches BK then ddt's him for the win.

Thoughts: It was an average one. It didn't really get the time or the spot on the card to develop into anything. 

Anthony Bowens is interviewed. AB says he has to keep hearing about Max Caster. He says he was supposed to be the star when The Acclaimed broke up. He says he represents the company and you. He asks why Max keeps getting opportunities when all he does is lose. He says he can't stand Max's chant. 

IWGP World Heavyweight Title #1 Contendership Match - Nigel McGuinness vs. Hechicero vs. Lee Moriarty vs. Daniel Garcia.

Thoughts: Nigel ended up winning this one with the London dungeon on Lee. Nigel was so obviously winning here with Hechicero being the only other person having a shot. This was one of the most ridiculous matches I've ever seen. The wrestlers paired off and just did holds or roll-ups most of the match. It looked like people were just playing wrestling and rolling around like they were in bed with the other. There were multiple multi-person submissions as expected as well. This made wrestling look like such a joke and was embarrassing to watch.

Renee interviews Nigel in the ring after. He's asked if he's ready for Zack. He says it's a dream match for him and Zack. He says they will make the dream a reality. Garcia is talking to Matt Menard while still in the ring. Nigel says Garcia was close and was a second away. Nigel says Garcia's heart will take him a long way in this business. Nigel asks if Garcia will be in his corner at Forbidden Door.

Overall thoughts: I didn't like this show at all. It got off to a slower start with the long opener and as usual, the show was filled with random and close to random matches without big stars around. The main was a fake and silly looking mess with 4 people trading holds and rolling around without actually trying to win. Ace Austin also naturally lost in his AEW debut like a true superstar would. I'd give this one a 4 out of 10.
