AAA Triplemania XXXIII 8/16/2025

We are in Mexico City, Mexico.

WWE now owns AAA and has an English feed for this with JBL, Konnan and Corey Graves.

Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Dorian Roldan, Nick Khan and Marisela Pena are in the ring with banners of the Pena's.

They do the Mexican national anthem. 

We see Rey Mysterio, Hijo del Vikingo, The Judgment Day, Dr. Wagner and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr arrive.

La Parka had a Thriller ripoff song with girls dancing and an aztec mask.

Parka and Laredo Kid start us off. Park dances and Kid step up enzugiri's him. Park goes up and over him then dances. Park headbutts him and Kid hits him. Kid flying forearms him and michinoku drivers him. Kid top rope 450's him for 2. Park hits a suplex then Joaquin Wilde comes out. Wilde slingshots in and hits ddt's on Kid and Park.

Wilde reverse ddt's Kid then does a pin on both Kid and Park at the same time. Kid beats up Wilde in the corner and the most recent Abismo Negro comes out. Kid satellites on Negro and gets chopped. Negro one arm gorilla press gutbusters him. Negro hits a double suplex on Park and Wilde.

Taurus (The original Taurus is in AEW so this is a new one) is next in. He spears Kid and Negro. He hits shots on Park then rolls him and slams Wilde onto Park's knees. Wilde hits a tilt-a-whirl armdrag then is lauched onto the top rope and headscissors Negro. Kid is doubled on by Taur and Negro.

Aerostar is next in. Aero handspring back elbows Taur. Aero rolls into a cutter on Wilde. He springboard double stomps Negro's back then topes him outside. Kid totally misses a tornillo off the top. Aero throws Kid over the top and eliminates him.

Mecha Wolf is next in. Wolf hits a double flying clothesline. Wolf throws up Aero and punts him in the back. Wolf michinoku drivers Taur. Cruz del Toro is next in. Cruz hits a springboard dropkick. Cruz top rope diving headscissors Negro.

Wolf takes a double back elbow then Wild is thrown onto him. Cruz asai moonsaults Wolf. Wolf green mists Wilde and throws him out for the elimination. Otis of Alpha Academy is next in, making his return from injury. Otis lariats Park and Taur then he bodyblocks Wolf. He pop-up drops Cruz then catches Aero off the top. Otis then dangerously dumps Aero over the top for the limination. Otis does a worm elbow on Negro.

Pimpinela Escarlata comes out. Pimp tries to kiss Negro then walks the ropes and does a headscissors + armdrag combo. Pimp tries to kiss Otis and Taurus interrupts. Otis then kisses Pimp's hand and they double lariat Taur over the top for the elimination.

Otis holds Pimp's hand and Pimp tries to kiss him. Otis holds Pimp and Wolf dropkicks Otis from behind, sending Pimp out for the elimination. Otis then stands on Wolf's gut. Cibernetico is next in. Ciber uranages Wolf then hits a double lariat. Ciber chokeslams Negro then Otis headbutts Ciber. Ciber spears Otis. They mention Ciber being in The Royal Rumble in the 90's. Microman is next in, making his return to AAA.

Negro misses a cannonball on Micro and Micro twists Wolf. Micro flying headscissors Wolf then slaps him. Ciber and Micro square off. Ciber grabs the mask and is hit. Ciber is sent to the apron. He fights off opponents. Otis lifts Micro and Micro boots Ciber off the apron for the elimination.

Omos is next in after not being on TV anywhere for a while. Omos shjoulders over Wilde, chokeslams Parka and Negra then lariats Wolf. Omos shoulders over Otis. Micro taps Omos on the leg. Omos looks around and doesn't see anyone because Micro is too small. Micro runs at him and Omos boots him down.

Omos lifts him in the air and puts him on the 2nd rope. Everyone gangs up on Omos and he fends them off. Omos eliminates Cruz and Negro together. Octagon Jr. is next in. Omos is double teamed. Omos facekicks Otis and knocks him down. Micro then 2nd rope splashes Otis and pins him. Otis is eliminated. JBL calls him a dummy for doing that to the man who was helping him.

Micro dances, Omos grabs him from behind and throws him out on Cruz and Negro for the elimination. We are down to Parka, Oct, Wolf and Omos. Wolf takes a double superkick. Omos takes double kicks. Oct is popped up into a dropkick on Omos. Wolf bottom rope tornado ddt's Park then Oct top rope tornillos Oct.

Park rolls into a cutter on Oct. Wolf leg kicks Park. Park hits an odd pop-up spinning fire thunder driver on Wolf and throws him out for the elimination. Omos is double teamed. He lariats Park. Omos boots Oct off the apron for the elimination. Park and Omos are the last two. Omos shoves him away. Park hits a bunch of shots then tries to dropkick Omos off the apron. Omos throws Park over the top by the head/throat and wins.

Thoughts: Omos winning makes sense and he was entertaining here but this is the downside of AAA and WWE working together. Unless Omos is going to be wrestling regularly here, he shouldn't be winning this and I don't think he will be around much. The Omos/Microman spot was a classic moment and absolutely hilarious. Pimp and Otis were funny as well. This went a little long but it was really entertaining and had a nice mix of everything. This was great.

Chuey Martinez interviews Dragon Lee in the back. He talks in Spanish. He says it's sold out and the biggest Triplemania of all-time. He then talks in Spanish.

We get a nice translated package for the next match. 

AAA Latin American Title Match - El Mesias (c) vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.

Hijo's dad Dr. Wagner Jr. is in the front row and Mes has Dorian Roldan with him. They shove each other. Mes chops him in the corner and Hijo hits punches. Mes punches him then hits headbutts. Hijo boots him out of the ring then cannonballs him off the apron. Mes pulls Hijo's leg over the 2nd rope then he ddt's him for 2.

Mes stomps on Hijo's back. They boot each other on the apron and Mes ddt's him there. Mes hits chops and knocks him down. Hijo tries an up and over but is backdropped. Mes chinlocks Hijo as the seconds argue with each other. Mes lariats Hijo for 2.  Hijo is thrown out and Dorian hits Hijo outside. Dr. Wagner Jr then yells at Mes and Mes hits punches on Hijo in front of Doc. Mes then rips on Hijo's mask. Hijo's head is banged off the steps. 

Mes chinlocks Hijo. Hijo and Mes double clothesline each other. Hijo boots Mes out of the corner then dragon screws him. Hijo top rope splashes Mes for 2. Mes spinning forearms Hijo. Hijo powerbombs Mes then hits a michinoku driver for 2.

Dorian interrupts Hijo up top. Doc comes out of the crowd and grabs him. Dorian puts Doc's mask on and Doc hits him. Doc grabs the mask and Mes spears Hijo for 2. Hijo hits a top rope superplex then he michinoku drivers Mes for the win.

Thoughts: The work was alright and more towards average but the fun of this was Doc Sr. getting involved and Dorian taunting him. That made this more enjoyable.

We see a Judgment Day interview from earlier. Finn says he's feeling good and it's the biggest Triplemania of all time. Dom says he will be the greatest Mysterio of all time when he wins the AAA Mega Title. Rey Mysterio walks in. Dom says he's happy to see him and Rey asks really? Rey then talks in Spanish. Dom says to watch him do something he never did and win the AAA Mega Title. They then taunt him and tell him to leave.  

Lola Vice, Mr. Iguana & Nino Hamburguesa vs. The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh & Raquel Rodriguez)

RR shoves Lola off the lock-up. Lola dances and hits kicks. Lola armbars her. Lola seated springboard armdrags her. Finn gets in and wants Lola. Iguana gets in. Finn boots him. Iguana backrolls, is put on the shoulder then he bounces off the top rope to do an armdrag. Iguana back body drops JD then flying headscissors him.

Nino gets in. JBL says he's a street vendor's nightmare. JD slaps around Nino and Nino shoves him. Roxanne Perez grabs a drink cup from under the ring. JD drinks it and does a push-up. Nino catches JD's crossbody and slams him.

Nino corner splashes JD then splashes him and Finn. Lola kicks RR into the corner, they do a dance then Lola hip attacks while Nino corner cannonballs. Roxanne Perez distracts Nino on the buckles. Nino misses a 2nd rope legdrop.

JD boots Nino in the corner. Finn chops Nino. JD snapmares Nino. JD 2nd rope elbow drops Nino for 2. Finn hits punches on Nino and Nino lariats him. JD knocks Iguana on the corner and dances at Lola in a funny moment. JD chokes Nino on the ropes. RR nails Nino from the apron. Lola then cannonballs RR from the apron.

Nino double suplexes Finn and JD. Iguana is tagged in. He 2nd rope twisting headbutts Finn and hits him with his doll in the gut. Yesca bites JD's hand then Iguana walks up the ropes and diving headscissors JD. Iguana tope con hilos JD outside. 

Finn has something covered under a hood on his hand. Finn then shoves up a Demon version of Yesca on his hand. Iguana is shocked. Finn grabs Yesca and ddt's Iguana. Finn's toy eats Yesca. Nino comes in with burgers. He gives Finn one and eats one. Finn eats the burger and Iguana step up enzugiri's Finn.

Iguana is caught by the heels on a slingshot plancha. Nino then topes all of them. Lola hits spin kicks on RR and urakens her. Perez knocks Lola off the top. La Hiedra comes out for Perez but nails Lola on accident. Hiedra chases Perez to the back. RR facekicks Lola then one arm powerbombs Lola to win.

Thoughts: It was a very entertaining tag with tons of comedy from Iguana and Nino. Finn bringing out his version of Yescar was great and JBL had a blast making fun of Iguana and Nino. JBL absolutely has to be on commentary for any of their matches going forward. Heidra looked like a total idiot here though and that was not a win.

AAA World Tag Team Title Street Fight - Los Garza (Angel & Berto) (c) vs. Pagano & Psycho Clown

Los Garza had some wild aztec armor costumes on for their entrance.

Everyone fights to stat and the faces get dropped. The heels throw weapons in and the faces hit them. The heels then grab kendo sticks and the faces grabbed barbed wire kendo sticks. The heels hit shots with the kendo sticks and grab both sets of sticks. The faces fight back and Clown is dropped with a stick shot.

The faces are both put in tree of woe and hit with kendo sticks. Pag is chaired. Angel is sent into a chair in the buckle. Pag 2nd rope diving codebreakers Berto. Pag whips Angel with a belt. Clown tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Pag. Pag pop-up forearms Angel. Clown hits Berto with a kendo stick. Clown double germans the heels through 2 chairs across from each other.

Clown rips off part of his mask to show a red mask. The faces hit kendo stick shots on Los Garza. Angel has a trash can put on his head and he is hit with weapons. Clown topes Berto with a chair. Pag double jump legdrops a trash can on Angel for 2. Pag then pounds on Angel. Pag misses a top rope moonsault with a trash can.

Clown misses a charge outside and goes into the steps. A table is set up. Pag is top rope gorilla pressed through the table for 2. Clown puts a table in the corner. Clown is about to be double suplexed through it but Pag spears the heels through it.

Pag and Angel fight on the apron. Angel pump kicks him. The faces are held in the air by Angel. Berto springboard enzugiri's clown and Angel drops the faces through 2 tables outside. 

Clown is headbutted off the top but Berto. Pag grabs barbed wire. Berto gets barbed wire wrapped around him. Pag walks up the ropes and flip dives Angel outside. Clown top rope spanish flies Angel and wins.

Thoughts: It was heavy on the weapons and spots. I didn't think it was that great of a match and kind of was a spotfest. There were a bunch of table spots here.

The Psycho Circus come out to celebrate with the faces after.

El Hijo del Vikingo is interviewed in Spanish.

Rey Mysterio inducts Konnan into the AAA Hall of Fame. They both talk.

Chuey interviews El Grande Americano. Grande only talks in Spanish.

They announce that 19,691 fans are in attendance. A version of Mascarita Sagrada is in the crowd as is el Fantasma and Lady Shani. 

AAA Reina de Reinas Title Triple Threat Match - Flammer (c) vs. Natalya vs. Faby Apache

Nat comes out with guards and is wearing a black singlet with "NATTIE" on it.

Flam pushes Nat and they butt heads. Nat boots Faby in the gut. Nat is thrown out. Faby shotgun dropkicks Flam. Flam flying headscissors Faby then Faby tilt-a-whirl backbreakers her. Nat trips Faby and bangs her head off the buckles. Nat then pounds on her and hits corner spears. Nat boots Faby in the corner.

Nat rolling snapmares Faby and Faby crucifixes her for 2. Faby rolls her into an inverted figure four. Nat slaps then sharpshooters Faby. Flam breaks it up with a bulldog.Faby running kicks Flam for 2. Tirantes, is the ref and he's a heel so he counts slow. Flam hits Fab from behind. Flam hits soul foot on Faby for 2. Faby armbars Flam while Nat ankle locks Flam. Nat hits mounted shots on Faby.

Nat boots Flam then surfboards her. Fab double basement dropkicks them. Nat hits mounted shots on Faby. Faby bodyscissors her. Nat and Faby slap each other. Flam takes shots from both. Flam hits a double flying clothesline. Nat spinning lariats Faby then STO's Flam.

Nat sharpshooters Faby and Flam at the same time. Faby and Flam double boot each other at the same time. Flam rolls Faby into a double stomp for 2. Flam gets stopped up top and Faby superplexes her down for 2. Faby slams Nat but Nat ankle locks her. Faby backrolls Nat for 2 then Nat sleepers her. Faby michinoku drivers Nat then Flam pins Faby with a fast count to win.

Thoughts: It wasn't great or anything but it wasn't awful. Thankfully, they didn't have Natalya win here. I'm curious if Faby will earn more bookings off of this as she's one of the better girls AAA has and she has worked everywhere. This was the first time we saw a true lucha heel ref in WWE.

Faby and Nat fight after and Tirantes breaks it up. Faby seems to challenge her for something after.

AAA Mega Title Fatal Four Way Match - El Hijo del Vikingo (c) vs. El Grande Americano vs. Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio

Vik = El Hijo del Vikingo

Grande gets a Mexican band for his entrance and he then sings that "aye, yi, yi, yi" song in Spanish called "Cielito Lindo". Lee gets like a chinese ninja with a drum and one of those dragon floats on sticks for his entrance. Lee also wore his wings out. Dom gets a big face reaction and comes out with a Rey Mysterio Sr. mask. Vikingo shakes hands with Rey and his dad backstage.

I would have to think Dom is the favorite to win this one. Dom shot gun dropkicks Vik to stat. Grande step up enzugiri's Lee. Grande and Dom shake hands. Grande hits punches on Lee then Dom is sent into the post by Vik. Lee flying headscissors and dropkicks Grande. Vik and Lee do stereo topes outside.

Lee rolls Vik up for 2 then Vik rolls him up. Vik flying headscissors Lee but Lee cartwheels out. They headflip up together and stand off. Lee is sent into the steps outside. Dom hits mounted shots on Vik then Grande does as well. Dom tries to sunset flip Lee but is double stomped. Lee hits combinacion cabron on Grande.

Lee hits the buckle into Dom's face. Dom is put in tree of woe and Lee top rope double stomps him down for 2. Lee corner dropkicks Grande. Lee goes down hard then Grande stomps on him in the corner. Grande ties Lee's mask to the bottom rope. Dom then stomps on Lee. Grande pushes him to away to stomp him then Dom pushes Grande.

Grande throws Dom off of Lee. Vik rolls into a dropkick on Dom. Gradne misses a corner charge and is kicked by Vik. Vik top rope dropkicks Dom and gets booted. Vik flying headscissors Grande. Dom and Grande take corner attacks.

Vik rolls up Lee for 2. Lee facekicks him. Vik corkscrew kicks Lee. Lee sitout powerbombs Vik then Dom canadian destroyers Lee. Grande running knees Dom. Vik top rope diving codebreakers Grande. Dom dropkicks Grande into the ropes. Grande flips him with a lariat. Lee shotgun dropkicks Grande. Vik spinning high kicks Lee then takes a rebound german. Lee superkicks Vik. Vik poisonrana's Lee. 

Vik corner meteora's Lee. Vik top rope ssp's Lee for 2 when the heels pull him out. Vik takes a double powerbomb through the commentary table. Dom and Grande fight outside. Lee topes both of them and goes over the Spanish commentary table. The commentators' audio is knocked out for a while after this.

JD McDonaught and Finn Balor mess with Dragon Lee. Dom dropkicks Lee into the ropes and 619's him there for 2. The LWO come out and fight Judgment Day. The Judgment Day are sent into the rails. Lee rolls up Grande then knees him in the face. Lee flying back elbows Grande for 2.

2 people in Grande masks come out and beat up The LWO. One of them enzugiri's Lee from the apron. Grande walks up the buckles and blockbusters Lee for 2. Grande is given a weapon to load his mask with. Lee superkicks Grande. Lee fights over the other Grande's then tope con hilos them and Judgment Day. Lee hits destino on Grande for 2. Vik breaks it up and is booed.

Vik top rope 450's Lee for 2. Dom puts on the Rey Mysterio Sr mask and loads it. Vik is back body dropped over the top. Dom headbutts Grande then Dom flying headbutts Lee. Dom top rope splashes Lee but someone in an El Ojo (AAA's main heel group) pulls out the ref. It's AJ Styles. AJ hits a styles clash on Dom. Vik top rope 630's Dom and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a wild match here for many reasons. Vik and Lee were the faces but got booed while Dom and Grande were the heels but were cheered. AJ, The LWO, Judgment Day and two more Grande's interfered. We also lost the commentators for a while when their audio got knocked out. The selling wasn't great and it definitely was more of a moves match but I enjoyed it. We got some nice highlights here and they didn't go too far with the big moves. It also felt like all 4 guys had a shot at winning this which helped. This should also help further multiple programs.

Overall thoughts: It was a good Triplemania. The opener was great and everything it needed to be. Wagner vs Mesias was okay and had some fun stuff with Wagner Sr. getting involved. The mixed tag was alot of fun. The street fight was your usual hardcore match and it wasn't that good. The women's match wasn't that great either but it wasn't horrible. The main was a lot of fun with the various run-in's and a wild crowd who was not following the script. WWE really did a great job with the production here and this event really lived up to being the big deal it was supposed to. The English commentary team was good as well. I didn't like some of the promos and interviews only being in Spanish thought but I'm less critical of this than I was When Worlds Collide as this show was in Mexico. I'd give this an 8 out of 10 and I think this one is worth seeing.
