WWF Superstars of Wrestling 6/13/1992

We are in Lexington, KY. Mr Perfect and Vince McMahon are our hosts. They make horse racing puns ala The Kentucky Derby

Tatanka vs Barry Horowitz

They lock up and Barry is shoved back. Barry says Tat pulled his trunks. Barry hits forearms and punches. Tat leapfrogs him then hiptosses him. Tat then hits a nice dropkick and a lariat. Barry eye pokes him then jawbreakers him.

Barry hits a euro. Tat kind of picks him up like a gorilla press and throws him down. Rick Martel does an inset promo. He says it was easy to outsmart him and ays beating him will be another feather in his cap. Tat jumping chops Barry and slams him. Tat hits a top rope chop. Tat then samoan drops him for the win.

Thoughts: Barry got a lot in and looked like he had a shot here at one point. That was nice to see. I liked Tatanka's dropkick in this. 

WWF Update

Mean Gene Okerlund talks about Papa Shango's curses. We see Papa Shango's interview from last week where he made goo come out of Gene's sleeves. Gene says he doesn't know what to say about last week. He says there is one man brave enough to speak out and it's The Ultimate Warrior. The Warrior says Papa must see the force of the warriors who do believe in him. He says Papa putting curses on those who don't believe makes him weaker. He says even if he stands a skeleton, he's still the skelton of The Ultimate Warrior.

Shawn Michaels vs. Craig Brown

Sherri brings out the mirror for Shawn. CB hammerlocks SM and is tripped. SM messes with CB's hair. Shawn and Sherri do an inset promo. Shawn says he can't imagine what it must be like going through life as Bret Hart. He says he will take Bret's IC Title.

Shawn hits a waterwheel drop and his head banged off the buckles. SM then checks in the mirror outside. SM hits punches then dropkicks him. SM hits a superkick then a backdrop for the win.

Thoughts: CB only got one thing in here in this squash. Shawn I think debuted the mirror here on Superstars and checked on it after CB bangs his head off the buckles.

WWF Event Center

The Repo Man does a promo. He says dogs have ruined his business all his life and he has the answer - a choke collar. He says the dog can't do anything once he has it on. He says one dog in particular is under his command and it's The British Bulldog. He says he might turn him into a  lap dog.

The Texas Tornado does a promo. He says if you are the best here, you are the best anywhere, but sometimes you lose priority and goals. He says he's re-dedicated to his life and Jesus and says he will take it back to the top. he says he will prove he's the champion and says he's doing it for you.

We see our first Razor Ramon promo. He says he comes from a gutter and has no education. He says hwo needs it? He says he's a success. He says he came to the WWF and says he wants the world and everything in it.

The Natural Disasters (Earthquake & Typhoon) vs. The Executioners (Executioner #1 & Executioner #2)

The Ex's look identical and don't exactly look very tough. The Ex's hit The ND's from behind. They hit stereo dropkicks and both get knocked over when they try to shoulder The ND's. The ND's block slams then hit backbreakers. Quake hits a hard lariat on an Ex on the apron. Ty then steps on Ex's gut. Ty hits a corner lariat then does a throw.

Ty clubs an Ex then hits a suplex. TY hits a corner splash then Quake splashes Ty's back. Quake elbows an Ex in the head. An Ex takes a double shoulderblock. Quake hits a powerslam and a butt drop. Ty then hits a splash and gets the pin.

Thoughts: It was all squash as expected. The Ex's were kind of a fun little jobber team though.

WWF Event Center

Skinner says it's summertime and he likes it when it's nice and hot. He says things are heating up in the WWF. He says he has Virgil on one side and "Crunch or Crush" on the other. He says everyone wants him and he says to come and get it. Skinner says he's been beaten up by snakes and alligators since he was a kid so it might as well be WWF superstars.

Paul Bearer and The Undertaker do a promo. Paul says Taker has chosen his victims selectively. He says if he happens to ovelook one, one should not come looking for The Reaper. He says Berzerker and Fuji came to his side and once you come, you can never leave.

The Mountie vs Bill Koby

Mountie sings his theme before the match. Mountie boots him then slaps him. Mountie puts Bill in tree of woe and boots him. Sgt. Slaughter does an inset promo. He says Sunday is Flag Day and says it doesn't mean much to Mountie. He says nothing will mean much when he gets a hold of him. Mountie dropkicks Bill then pins him with a foot on his throat.

Thoughts: It was a quick squash here wasn't much of note.

Mountie grabs his super shock stick after. He boots Bill around while on the mic. He asks if Bill knows who he is. Mountie then makes him say who the better man is between him and Sgt. Slaughter. Mountie says his answers are good but it's not his lucky day. Bill then runs for it before Mountie can shock him. Mountie then asks for his music to be played.

The WBF Championship is live tonight. 

Mean Gene interviews Randy Savage in an empty arena. Gene says he bent the rules to win the title. Macho says he has bent the rules a time or two and reserves the right to do it in the future. He says he's a survivor and doesn't apologize for that. He says he doesn't need to do that though against technical wrestlers. He says he does what he has to when he faces the dirtiest player in the game. He says keeping the title is most important. He says he will bring Ric Flair all the way down for coming after The Madness. He says he's the champ and Ric is not. Macho says he lives on a lighting bolt and won't apologize for it.

Gene asks Macho if he will do whatever it takes to keep the title. Macho says he will and says he will rock Flair. He says there's nothing Flair can do about it. 

Kamala vs. Dale Wolfe

Kamala has Harvey Wippleman and Kim Chee with him. Harvey gets on the mic beforehand. He says never has one man been so feared by so many. He says we will meet that man and its the mighty Kamala.

They lock up and Kam throws him down. Kam hits chops then headbutts him. Kam stands on Dale's gut then chokes him. Kam chokes him with his leg over the top rope. Kam hits a double throat thrust. Kam hits a splash on Dale's back then can't figure out whether to pin his back or chest. Kam picks up the win eventually.

Thoughts: It was all squash here as it should be with Kamala mostly doing chops.

El Matador vs. Mike Samples

They lock up. Mike backs him up on the ropes and Tito blocks his punches. Tito side headlocks him. Tito does an inset promo picking Danny Pedilla to win the WBF Championship. Tito armdrags Mike and armlocks him.

Tito hits punches and slams him. Tito hits a back body drop then flying forearms him in the back of the head to win.

Thoughts: It was a short one that didn't accomplish much.

Mr. Perfect calls The Big Boss Man on the phone. We see pictures of Boss looking all bruised and banged up from Nailz. Perfect asks how it felt and Boss says it was rough. Perfect says he's happy Boss' career is over. Boss says he's gonna be back and Perfect says he's even stupider than he thought. Perfect then hangs up on him.

Nailz vs. Ron Cumberledge

Nailz chokes him in the corner and eye rakes him. Nailz hits boots to the ribs and rakes his face. Nail hits a hard lariat. Nailz then submits him with a chinlock.

Thoughts: It was a weak way to win but at least Nailz did come across as rough and vicious here. Nailz did absolutely nothing wrestling wise.

Nailz chokes Ron with his nightstick after.

They bring the stretcher out for Ron after.

WWF Event Center

Papa Shango does a promo. He talks to his skull and says he's a pain to Warrior. He says Warrior will become his zombie and mindless troll. He tells him to beware and says to beware of Papa Shango.

The Legion of Doom and Paul Ellering do a promo. Animal says there's a lot of great teams in the WWF. He says of all the teams, there's only one #1 team and it's them. Hawk says the WWF sets them up and they knock them down. Paul says he returned and says if Hart or Genius stick their noses in his business, it'll be Paul's business.

Overall thoughts: It wasn't much of note. The matches were all squashes and there were no new big developments outside of Razor Ramon's first vignette. It was a pretty boring episode and I wouldn't recommend it.
