WWF Superstars of Wrestling 5/23/1992

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/07/wwf-superstars-of-wrestling-5161992.html

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/08/wwf-superstars-of-wrestling-5231992.html

We are in Syracuse, NY and it's almost time for Memorial Day.

Mr. Perfect and Vince McMahon are our hosts. Perfect says a ringside physician died after Warrior puked on him last week. Perfect makes more vomit puns.

The Undertaker vs Bill Pierce

Bill hits Taker from behind and backs off. Taker grabs him by the throat. Take chokeslams him and keeps the choke on. The Berzker and Mr. Fuji do an inset promo. Fuji says he will put Taker six feet deep. Berzerker says he will kick his teeth in first then do that.

Taker hits a big boot on Bill. Taker walks the ropes and clubs Bill. Perfect rips Warrior for getting sick last week. Taker tombstones Bill and gets the pin.

Thoughts: This wasn't much of note. I think Taker is supposed to be the face here yet he was choking Bill which wasn't very face like.

WWF Update

Mean Gene Okerlund talks about Papa Shango's curse on The Ultimate Warrior. We see clips of Warrior getting cursed and then throwing up. Gene says he doesn't believe in dark powers but says it's hard to doubt the powers that Shango has over Warrior.

Papa Shango does a promo. He says he put a curse on Warrior and now owns his spirits. He says he now owns him.

Virgil vs Duane Gill

Gill eye pokes him and punches him. Virg catches him and atomic drops him. Virg running lariats him. Virg slaps Gill then kicks him in the leg. Virg somehow flips Gill with one of his legs and bangs Gill's head off the buckles. Gill goes and over. Virg hits a hard back elbow. Virg puts him in the million dollar dream and puts him to sleep.

Thoughts: It wasn't a good squash. Neither guy really hit their stuff clean here and it was a sloppy bout.

Money Inc. (Ted Dibiase and Irwin R. Schyster) vs Jim Powers and Mark Kay

IRS calls the crowd tax cheats and says they need to know that cheating on your taxes is illegal.

Jim side headlocks IRS. Jim catches IRS's boot then atomic drops him. Jim then hits a lariat. Mark gets in and wristlocks IRS. IRS eye rakes him. Mark takes a double back elbow.

Mark's head is banged off the buckles and Ted lariats him. IRS forearms Mark off the ropes. Mark is punched in the gut then powerslammed by Ted. IRS flying lariats Mark and pins him.

Thoughts: Jim got more offense in than he took which is rare. Mark had a decent look to him but him and Jim lost as expected.

Sean Mooney hypes up the 6/6/1992 Boston Garden show.

Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair do a promo. Perfect says the title will go around Flair's waist. Flair says they will say Macho was the shortest lived champ of all-time and will say Flair kissed Liz. He says they will say Liz made the moves and is back with Flair.

Macho Man does a promo. He says Flair is a living legend but he will be disassembled in the middle of The Garden. He says he won't let himself, the fans or Liz down. He says the only thing that gets down is when he kicks Flair like he never kicked him before. He says Flair, Heenan and Perfect will get beaten up.

The British Bulldog vs Barry Hardy

They lock up, Barry lets go and poses. Davey shoves him in the corner. They shoulder battle. Davey hiptosses Barry then armdrags him. Davey slams him. Davey chinlocks him. The Repo Man does an inset promo. He says dogs ruined his business his life but says Davey won't as he has a choke collar for him. He says he can take the bite out of a dog.

Davey suplexes Barry then chinlocks him. Davey powerslams Barry and wins.

Thoughts:
It was a short one as usual here. Barry didn't get much in.

We go to a picnic with Flair, Perfect and a girl. Flair says they style and profile and enjoy the best life has to offer every day of their lives. Flair says Liz won't leave him alone. Flair says Liz is permanently on the outside looking in. Perfect says he should cut her some slack but Flair says she's out. Flair says Liz is leaving messages on his answering machine. Perfect then plays an answering machine message. It has Liz saying she missed him and says she will give him an extra special homecoming. Perfect says Macho bought the cow and Flair gets the milk for free. Flair says Liz has nothing for him. He says Liz isn't coming back but the belt is.

Sean Mooney hypes up the 6/6/1992 Boston Garden show.

The Mountie and Jimmy Hart talk Sgt. Slaughter. This is the same promo from last week.

The Berzerker and Mr. Fuji do a promo. Berz says he told Taker they were the most dangerous men in the WWF. Berz said he told him he was the toughest. He asks Taker how it feels to get his head caved in.

The Undertaker and Paul Bearer do a promo. Paul says they tried to put an end to Taker but now they pay. Taker says you attack the body but the soul is eternal.

The Mountie vs Bobby Knight

Mountie grabs the mic and sings his song. Perfect says Liz won't leave Flair alone. Mountie boots and slaps Bobby. Mountie flying back elbows Bobby then bangs his head off the buckles. Sgt. Slaughter does an inset promo. He says he wants to do a Memorial Day salute to the people who died and says Mountie will surrender. Mountie hits a dropkick on his opponents and sits on him to win.

Thoughts: It was the usual Mountie squash. He hit a nice dropkick at least and they built up the Mountie/Sarge feud here.

Mountie pulls out his super shock stick and threatens the jobber with it. He goes after the ref and the jobber leaves. He then asks for his music to be played so he can sing it.

Mean Gene Okerlund interviews The Ultimate Warrior on the stage. Warrior says any weakness in his condition lately has been turned into a greater strength. He says he's not in control of his destiny, it's the Warriors behind him. He says the voodoo Shango possesses is a challenge that they must survive. Black goo then comes out of Warrior's head. Warrior then walks off.

Thoughts: There's no defending or explaining this angle. It's a bad idea on paper and wasn't much better in reality. I don't even know how you fix this. Maybe Warrior starts holding a body part during a match and they attribute it to Shango's curse. The trick would be to not go over the top like they did here and make it more of a mystery as to whether it was a curse or an injury. Would it work? I don't know, but it'd be better than black goo coming out of Warrior's head.

The Bushwhackers (Luke and Butch) vs The Dublin Destroyer and Vince Sola

I was hoping The Destroyer was a masked guy, but nah. He is of a decent size though.

Butch hits Dublin in the gut and double throat thrusts him. Butch clubs on Sola then Sola takes a battering ram. Butch then picks up the win.

Thoughts:
It was a really short squash and honestly a waste of time. It meant we didn't have to deal with a long Bushwhackers match though atleast.

Kamala vs Kerry Davis

Harvey Wippleman gets on the mic before this starts. He introduces Kamala. Kim Chee has a red mask on.

Kamal slaps his belly and shoulders over Kerry. Kamala chops him and chokes him. Kamala spin kicks him then hits double chops. Kamala splashes Kerry's back and grabs the pin to win.

Thoughts: It was all squash as expected. Kamala did his wildman character well here and definitely wrestled the part. If nothing else, it was something different.

WWF Event Center

Sean hypes up the 6/6/92 Boston Garden show.

The Genius and The Bev's say they will be victorious. Blake tells the LOD to get their stupid haircuts ready and come down to Boston so they can show what LOS is all about. Beau says The LOD has no class and says all people hear is screaming from them. Beau says they are still the only undefeated team in the WWF.

The LOD and Paul Ellering do a promo. Hawk calls The Bev's fish against sharks and Paul says he will knock genius down like a jack in the box if he sticks his head in.

Overall thoughts: There was little of interest going on wrestling wise as usual. This had the infamous Ultimate Warrior segment with black goo coming out of his head from Papa's Shango's curse. It was a bad idea on paper and not much better in reality. Virgil also had a bad squash where neither he or his opponent came off well. I wouldn't really recommend this one as it wasn't that interesting.
