WWE LFG 6/22/2025 Season 2, Episode 1

The last episode is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/05/wwe-lfg-5182025-episode-15.html

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/06/wwe-lfg-6292025-season-2-episode-2.html

This aired at 10PM on a Sunday. WWE hasn't mentioned this at all except for saying it airs today on their Twitter. Michelle McCool has replaced Mickie James as a coach and everyone thinks it's because of The Undertaker, who is her husband. Harlem Lewis, Trill London, Summer Sorrell and Haze Jameson have joined the show and all four have appeared on Evolve already. Jasper Troy, Leigh Laurel, Troy Yearwood and Tyra Mae Steele are off the show. Jasper and Tyra have joined NXT and Leigh/Yearwood has joined Evolve. Dani Sekelsky is now Dani Rae. The show is now 60 minutes instead of 90 minutes, which I sadly would say is a good move.

They say it's LFG vs NXT in a new season premiere.

Shawn Michaels greets the coaches. Michelle McCool says she's excited to be a new coach and says it's game on. Taker says there will be a difference between how he and McCool handle things.

Shawn tells us there are new members of the show, 2 winners and one LFG Coach Championship. Shawn says we will have a draft and McCool gets to pick first because she is new. Bubba tries to get her to pick BJ Ray. Booker says that would give McCool a huge advantage and calls this nepotism.

We see Tyra Mae Steel preparing for a match with Nikkita Lyons. They say this is her debut match but that's not true.

We see edited clips of Nikkita Lyons vs Tyra Mae Steele. Tyra hit a nice gutwrench on Lyons then won with a nice side roll into a pin.

Tyra is excited after. Zena says that should have been her spot and said we will see more aggression and less ditziness in Season 2.

We then see edited clips of Jasper Troy vs Dante Chen which is also not Troy's debut as claimed, though it appears to be Troy's NXT TV debut. Unlike Tyra's match from earlier, we know where this match came from.

We see Oba Femi cutting a promo on Troy after.

Anthony Luke says it's his time to shine now and says nobody but him can stop him.

Shawn Michaels gathers the crew and coaches and says we have a draft.

We go to break and return.

Drake Morreaux is wearing alligator leather boots. Summer Sorrell says she isn't like the other blondes. She says she wants to be 1 of 1. She says she's more confident and just better. Trill London says he's comfortable in his own skin and is artistic but he loves wrestling most. Haze Jameson says she's known as the wild child and likes to have a good time. She says buckle up as it will be a fun ride.

Dani Sekelsky said she let people walk all over her in Season 1 and got complacent. She says she wants to be on Taker's team.

We see the wrestlers do rolls in the ring.

Anthony Luke says he doesn't look like The Rock, he looks like himself. Bubba says he wants to see how serious everyone is taking everything. Taker tells Shiloh to dog it and not do his best. Bubba takes the bait and says Shiloh didn't impress him in the ring today.

Taker is asked about his strategy with Shiloh. He says Shiloh went to the finals and he doesn't need to risk injury. Booker yells at everyone for chattering and says they are all acting like it's a game.

Bubba tells Elijah Holyfield not to get caught up in the BS. Elijah says everyone is a fool who needs aced. Taker says Elijah is a protege. McCool says Harlem is super aggressive and says Zena is the one to beat. We see two of the girls botch a hiptoss and everyone reacts. Haze says she knew something wasn't right and Tatyanna says it's her fault.

Haze says there's no point in getting mad. They then botch it again but Haze catches herself this time.

The judges talk. McCool wants Harlem vs Chris Island and Penina vs Dani.

Penina does a promo in the ring. She says she's called P-Nasty because she tosses girls around. She says other girls are out of their mind if they think they have a chance. She tells anyone to come get their issue if they think they have a chance. Dani Sekelsky comes out. She says no one has questioned her toughness or power. Dani says she was an NFL cheerleader and she's tougher than half the NFL players she met. She says LFG is wide open and says may the best woman walk away with the contract.

Taker talks to Dani in the back. He wants to see aggression. He says he doesn't do flips and flopping, he tells stories. Dani says her and Penina have different charisma and opposite characters.

Dani Sekelsky vs Penina Tuilaepa

Dani trips her and side headlocks her. Dani hits Penina in the gut then Penina backhands and backbreakers her. Penina chinlocks her.

Penina clubs on her then bangs her face off the mat. Penina hair throws her. Dani hits chops and dropkicks. Dani does hell's gate and Penina powerbombs her out of it. Penina samoan drops her and wins.

Thoughts: It was short. What we got was okay but they really didn't get to do a lot and it was just a sample of what a longer match between the two would have been like.

Dani says she tries to be like Rey Mysterio. She says she's willing to take hits from people and will keep bouncing back.

Harlem Lewis says he was brought in to beat @ss. He says he has the intensity and aggression others don't have. He says he's p!ssed off and enraged 24/7. He says he's Harlem Lewis 24/7. He says he never wanted to work a 9-5 job.

Chris Island says he feels honored to face Harlem and says she's a killer.

Chris Island vs Harlem Lewis

They lock up. HL backs him up in the corner and piefaces him. CI slaps him and tries to take him down. CI hits a slap and is knocked over. HL headlocks him then shoulders him over. HL chinlocks him.

We go to break and return. CI side headlocks him then HL hits a nice backdrop out of it. HL stomps and pounds on him then sends him hard into the corner. CI fights back and is hit. CI tries an up and over but is lariated from behind for 2.

HL chinlocks him. HL slams him for 2. HL waist locks him. CI hits shots on HL. CI criss crosses him and shoulders him over. CI hits a nice double leg slam. CI is dropped throat first on the ropes then HL nukes him with a giant lariat. HL then hits a jackhammer and wins.

Thoughts: I liked it. It looked like a real fight and Lewis looked like a bad mofo that you don't want to mess with. His lariat was pretty nasty. CI didn't have quite as good of a showing as he has had in the past though.

Lewis is interviewed. He says his mom was crying when he was told he got signed by WWE. He said he had WWE parties as a kid and says she loves wrestling. He says him and his mom are on bad terms though and haven't spoken since Christmas.

The legends are going to make their picks in the draft. McCool picks Penina for her first pick. Bubba is shocked and Booker rolls his eyes. McCool says she's a star and Booker says this is ridiculous. Booker says he put all the work in and she comes in where he left off. He says it's underhanded. He says McCool is playing chess and not checkers and wishes Penina luck on her future endeavors.

McCool makes her first male pick and it's Anthony Luke. Booker says that's f*cked up and says she's d@mn right he's a winner. Luke hugs McCool and Booker says, "Look at this motherf*cker". He says he's selling out too and says this is a bunch of bullsh!t. Booker goes off and says he should have won Season 1. Booker then leaves as the ring announcer asks if he is coming back.

Thoughts: Worked or not, it was entertaining and got a good laugh from me.

Overall thoughts: It's a different show from last season. It's sped up which is a plus as last season dragged a bit at times. It still has issues with things being worked-work's though. We only got 2 new matches here and clips of 2 others. I'd say it's more watchable so far but I still wouldn't say it's must see TV. If we can stick more to the in-ring stuff though and less of the behind the scenes fake drama (other than Booker going off in funny rants), the show will be better. I wouldn't recommend this one outside of Booker's rant at the end.

  1. When I saw Harlem that first time he wrestled on Lvl Up, I said to myself, "he's a pretty good for how new he is." Glad this episode confirmed I have a great eye for talent. I mean he looks the part of a badass, he's aggressive, he bumps and sells really well, he does the little nuanced things pretty good for a rookie too. Honestly, I don't see any major weakness. I think for him it's just a matter of gaining more experience. I really don't think he needed to be on this show because he's honestly ready to be on NXT, but I think they probably put him on this show to springboard him directly to tv with since they're obviously high on him.

    1. I agree. He looks ready for NXT and I haven't seen any major holes in his game.
