Thoughts: I didn't like it. It went long and was slow. They had MK work Rei's hand but then both forgot about it and they had the match they usually have. I was disappointed as I expected a good one out of this and we didn't get it.

Thoughts: At least Ken was smart enough to use dirty tactics here with TY, who had been using them all tournament. It was the typical TY match and wasn't that great as usual. There was little but throat thrusts here.

TY celebrates big for his win after.

Thoughts: Kuma could have sold his ankle a little better here but I liked it overall. Sho worked the ankle for most of the match and we got some hoss style wrestling in between. This is one of the longest matches Kuma has had in AJPW and I hope he gets more as he put out a good performance here.

Champion Carnival 2025 Block A Match - Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Hideki Suzuki

Davey takes him down and grabs the ankle. HS gets on top then HS goes for the arm. They get back up and Davey goes for the kimura. Davey rolls him up then gets his back. HS enzugiri's him then Davey backslides him for 2. Davey tries a bridge but it is blocked then HS bridge pins him to win.

Thoughts: It was all technical and mat wrestling as expected. There were only a few actual moves that weren't takedowns, submissions or pin attempts in this. I didn't think it was that interesting.

Champion Carnival 2025 Block A Match - Kento Miyahara vs. Jun Saito

Ken cradles him then catches him with a triangle. Jun ropebreaks. Jun 2nd rope chokeslams him for 2. Jun hits a big slap then running knees him for 2. Ken lariats him. Jun lariats him then hits a jackhammer for 2.

Ken throws him off of him and hits a pumping knee. Jun then spears him. Jun sliding knees/kicks him then facekicks him. Ken hits a flying knee then straightjacket germans him for the win.

Thoughts:
There wasn't any great logic to it but the match structure was okay. There weren't any real heels or faces here and Jun didn't play his size up much. They had a traditional main event style match here and Jun showed some promise in this one.

Ken then talks on the mic after and poses.

Overall thoughts: The opener was filler. The second match got a decent bit of time and was a good one. Omori vs Ren was acceptable. Kikuta/Rei was a low and slow disappointment. Yoshida/Kengo was the same match we always see with Yoshida. I liked Kuma/Shotaro and they didn't go too long with Davey/Suzuki but I didn't like it that much. The main was okay. I'd give this a 5 out of 10 as there was a mix of good, average and bad here.
