A bunch of NXT wrestlers were cut this weekend including Gigi Dolin, Cora Jade, Eddy Thorpe, Jakara, Riley, Oro, Javier Bernal, Gallus and Dani Palmer. I was disappointed about Dani being cut and somewhat disappointed about Riley being cut. I get most of the other cuts.

We see various wrestlers arrive. The Culling walks behind NQCC if they arrive. Wes Lee's crew has words with The Culling. Wes then runs into Zachary Wentz outside.

Hank And Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) & Joe Hendry vs. DarkState (Cutler James, Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin)

The heels bring the fight before the bell. Dion hits shots on Tank then spinebusters him for 2. OG bangs Tank's head off the buckles. Tank then crucifixes Cutler. Hank shoulders over Cutler and Tank sentons Cutler for 2. Joe gets in and hits a delayed suplex on Cutler for 2.

Cutler back elbows Hank then Dion does the same. Hank and Tank hit corner splashes on Dion, bulldog him then hit a double bodyblock. Joe fallway slams Dion. The faces then pose. We go to PiP break and return. Hank gets pushed off the top. Dion splashes Hank then pulls his hair. 

OG backbreakers Hank. Hank takes splashes in the corner then is backdropped. Cutler short arm lariats Hank for 2. OG powerslams Hank for 2. OG misses a corner spear and goes into the post. Tank and Dion go at it. Tank knocks Dion down a bunch of times then overhead belly to belly suplexes him. Tank cannonballs DarkState off the apron. Tank bubba bombs' Dion for 2.

Both teams fight. OG is pulled out by Hank, then Hank is puled out too. Shugars distracts Hank and Hank goes into the post. Joe fallaway slams Cutler. Trick Williams comes out and trips Joe. The ref sees it and does nothing about it. Dion clips Tank. Tank is thrown into a powerbomb and pinned.

Thoughts: The wrestling was fine but the finish was dumb. The ref openly saw Trick Williams interfere and hit Joe and did nothing about it. It did save Joe from getting pinned, but it was bogus.

Karmen and Thea talk. Karmen says she's wasting too much time worrying about love and says the women's division is too deep. Thea says you need to be strong. Jaida asks what Thea knows about it. She says she's small and a little chihuahua. Jaida says she told Karmen to dump Ashantee months ago and says she's too soft. Karmen says Jaida choked at Stand and Deliver. Jaida says she will see her tonight.

We see Shiloh Hill and Chris Island working out in the back. We also see Timothy Thatcher and Sean Legacy working out.

NQCC talks in the back. Dempsey says they have one unified goal and it's get to take the title from Oba at Battleground. They then do a group cheer.

Zaria vs Kelani Jordan

KJ dropkicks her and is piefaced. KJ hits punches. KJ high kicks her from the apron. Zar catches her tope rope diving headscissors. KJ is picked up then sunset flips her. Zar drives her into the corner with corner spears. Zar slaps her in the back then KJ does it back to her. KJ hits corner spears. Zar gutbusters her.

KJ slaps Zar and knocks her out of the ring. KJ 2nd rope twisting legdrops her over the 2nd rope. Zar goes out and catches KJ off the buckles. KJ diving headscissors her off the steps.

We go to PiP break and return. Zar hanging sleepers her from the buckles. KJ throws her down. KJ's cartwheel back elbow is caught. KJ flips out of a german then hits the cartwheel back elbow. KJ spinning ddt's her for 2. KJ misses a 450 and is speared for 2.

KJ legslices her for 2. KJ backrolls her and Zar is pulled out. KJ asai moonsaults her outside. KJ is pushed into Sol Ruca outside. Sol catches her. Zar then spears KJ through the rail. Zar hits an F-5 and wins.

Thoughts: I liked this one. The two matched up well and had the idea of this right. The spot at the end with KJ going through the rail was nice as well. KJ tried to show a little more spirit than usual here.

Tony D is in the back and Wes Lee's crew walks in. Wes asks how the family is. Tony says if someone knows about stabbing a brother in the back, it's Wes. Wes said he'd do it again if he had to. Wes says Tony is less confident and is afraid to be in the battle royale as he doesn't have the family anymore. Tony tells him to take a shot if he's a tough guy. Wes says he has a battle royale to win.

Trick Williams heads to the ring.

Stephanie Vaquer and Lola Vice talk in the back. Lola says it'll be tough at Battleground no matter who wins. Lola has confidence in SV walking in out and of Battleground as champ. Giulia walks in. She said she hasn't forgotten and will see her at Battleground. 

#1 Contender's Battle Royal

Elijah/Elias is the surprise entrant in the battle royal. They call him Elijah here. Eli sings a song on his way to the ring. Page comes out to talk trash to Elijah. Chris Island is immediately thrown out by Lexis King. Shiloh Hill throws out King after.

Page and Eli fight outside. Elijah hits shots on Charlie Dempsey then lariats him over the top. Swipe Right does their pose and Inamura pounces Brad Baylor over the top. Trick jumping neckbreakers Inamura. Ashantee Adonis tries to throw Trick Williams out. Ashantee hits superkicks on multiple people. He tries to throw Shiloh Hill out but Trick Williams throws out Ashantee over Hill.

We go to PiP break and return. Zachary Wentz threw out Ricky Smokes over the break and Tyson Dupont was thrown out. Timothy Thatcher hits euros on Ethan Page. Page high kicks him and throws him out.
Shiloh hits punches on Shawn Spears. Niko tries to sacfice himself for Shawn and is sent out. Ridge Holland throws Shiloh to the apron. Trick hits shots on Hill then pump kicks him off the apron. Je'Von Evans spears Tavion Heights from the apron.

Inamura chops up Trick. Wentz boots Tyriek Igwe out of the corner. Brooks Jensen puts Igwe over the apron and stupidly jumps over the top to lariat him and gets eliminated with him. Wentz handspring jumping knees Wes. Ridge knocks Tavion off the apron with a forearm. Ridge is pounded on by Josh Briggs and Inamura. He's then chokeslammed onto Inamura's knee.

Ridge and Briggs fight on the apron. Ridge pulls Briggs into Inamura's charge and Briggs is sent out. Inamura is really bothered by throwing out his partner. Evans comes off the top and takes a jumping knee from ELijah. Sean Legacy is superkicked by Wentz while Wes throws Evans. we have 4 people trying to skin the cat. Wentz is lariated over the top by Page.

We go to another PiP break and return. Ridge and Inamura trade forearms. They lariat battle and lariat each other on the ropes. Trick lariats Ridge and Inamura over the top for the double elimination. Joe Hendry's music then hits and he comes out. Elijah sends Trick over the top for the elimination. Joe and Trick fight and security breaks it up.

Shawn Spears throws Elijah over the top. Sean Legacy springboard dropkicks Spears. Legacy pump kicks Evans. Evans bounces off the bottom rope and germans him. Evans is pulled to the apron and hangs. Evans springboards and is caught with a Legacy superkick.

Legacy step up kicks Evans in the corner. Page tries to throw Legacy out. Evans cutters Legacy then bounces off the ropes and corkscrew kicks him out as Page holds the ropes. Borne, Page, Spears and Evans are the final four.

Evans buckshots in and takes a Borne powerslam. Borne powerslams Spears. Page kicks Borne from the side then Brone overhead belly to belly suplexes him. Evan is on the 2nd rope, gets dropkicked and is on the apron. Spears superkicks Borne.

Spears and Evans are on the apron. Page kicks Evans on the apron. Evans does a double springboard onto Spears and Page. Evans os cutters Borne. Evans' double os cutter is blocked and he is thrown out by Page and Spears. Evans goes into the edge of the commentary table face first.

Spears tries to skin the cat in, Borne dropkicks Page out and he takes Spears with him. Myles Borne wins!

Thoughts: This was an absolute shocker and it's nice to get that once in a while. I wish it would have been built to a bit more but it's nice to see. Borne's super talented and it's about time someone noticed. It was your usual battle royale and wasn't too much of note.

Tavion and Wren celebrate with Borne after. Charlie Dempsey doesn't seem super excited though. 

Jordynne Grace is interviewed. She says her and Giulia fought of the arena last week but it stays in the ring this week. She says he has the power advantage. Izzi Dame comes in and mocks her. She says Grave is one of the strongest but not the biggest. Lash then walks in, without Jakara Jackson, who was released. Grace says she will see both of them on the other side when she wins the battle royal.

Jaida Parker vs Karmen Petrovic

They lock up and go to the ropes. JP slams her. KP legsweeps her and legdrops her. KP hits a kick on her and JP goes out. KP topes her. JP hits a nasty looking spinning back elbow then running headhunters her for 2. KP is laid on the 2nd rope and JP step up buttpresses her. JP hits a twisting neckbreaker for 2.

KP's arms are pulled back and JP sits on her shoulder. JP double throat thrusts her. KP hits flying forearms then lariats her. KP sliding kicks her in the corner. KP 2nd rope slingblades her for 2. JP running hip attacks her and wins.

Thoughts: I liked it. JP busted out new offense here with the spinning back elbow, the twisting neckbreaker and the headhunter. KP busted out a new 2nd rope slingblade as well. The crowd liked it but Jaida's a local so she's popular.

JP beats up on KP after. Thea Hail comes out on the apron and JP running hip attacks her. KP goes for a high kick and JP walks away.

Joe Hendry talks to Ava in the back. Ava says this thing with him and Trick has to end. Joe says he's not backing down from Trick. Ava says Joe is facing Trick at Battleground in 3 weeks for the TNA Title. Ava says the contract signing is next week.

We get a spotlight video on Out The Mud, who haven't been around much lately. They walk behind some fences. They talk in a parking garage. Price says they got sloppy and needed to take a break. Nima says they are up and coming back. Price says they will take the tag title for themselves. Nima says they will take the gold.

Wes Lee is on the phone with his crew behind him in the back. Wes says, "every man has a price".

Josh briggs talks to Yoshiki Inamura. Inamura says he knows he disappointed Josh. Inamura says he's going back to Japan. Josh says he doesn't want him to go. Inamura says he wishes he was a better partner for him and gives him the leather vest. He says goodbye.

Brooks Jensen and The Culling go up to Briggs. Brooks says he's lived that feeling and it sucked. He says Inamura is better off now, right Briggs? He says Briggs always thinks its the partner but maybe the problem has always been Briggs.

Thoughts: Jensen and The Culling coming in was a great callback and I'm surprised that was remembered.

NQCC talk in the back. Dempsey says it's time for them to get serious. Dempsey says he needs to get ready to face Oba. Borne says he won the battle royale and Dempsey says it has to be him facing Oba. He then calls him a meathead and says he will stretch him and make him beg for mercy. Oba Femi comes in. He says he's impressed and says he will see him. Dempsey says he's facing Oba. Borne says the title match will be his but Dempsey can show him how it's done. Borne brings up Dempsey saying he can stretch out Oba a few seconds ago and make him cry for mercy. Borne says it could be a triple threat if Dempsey can beat Oba. Oba says he's done with triple threats but will see Dempsey next week. Dempsey is mad and says thanks a lot in mocking fashion.

Thoughts: NQCC hasn't done squat lately and the group is failing just as Diamond Mine did. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the beginning of the end for them. These guys all need to work on being bigger personalities and being serious technical wrestlers is not the way to do it.

We go to Chase U. Chase is with Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors. They say Chase should get rid of the polo. They say they have new clothes for him. Chase isn't sure and puts on a new longsleeve sweater. Kale and Uriah like it. Chase says he will try another one on. Chase then comes out with a track suit. Chase says he rocks with it.

Thoughts: It's not the old Chase U but Chase U has been around forever on this show and it's good to see it alive and well again.  

WWE NXT Women's Title #1 Contendership Match - Jordynne Grace vs. Giulia 

G = Giulia, JG = Jordynne Grace

G and JG trade forearms. G hits bad forearms and chops in the corner. G then hits a straight punch. JG forearm and chop flurries her. JG flips her from the side slam then hits a big ending for 2. JG hits a lariat flurry in the back of the head. G STO's her for 2.

G shotgun dropkicks her. JG sweeps her on the apron. G pulls her down then throws her back in. JG is tripped on the 2nd rope and goes down. G then does a bad bridging neckbreaker on the floor from the apron.

We go to PiP break and return. JG spinebusters her for 2. G does a king crab hold to her. G hits some headbutts. JG belly to belly suplexes her. They trade forearms. G slaps her. JG slaps her then slams her. JG hits another slam then hits a michinoku driver for 2. G goes up top and is hit. JG 2nd rope superplexes her. JG then hits a jackhammer for 2. G then hits a pendulum ddt and a glorious driver. G does an octopus. JG alley oops her from the tombstone position. G no sells it. JG hits a made in japan and wins.

Thoughts: Wow. I was shocked Giulia lost here. Is it because she's on Raw now? I dunno, but it doesn't make a ton of sense. It wasn't that good of a match Giulia being pretty sloppy here. I didn't like the no sell off the tombstone alley oop either.

Stephanie Vaquer comes out and holds her title up in Grace's face after.

Overall thoughts: The opener was okay but had a bad finish. I liked Zaria/Kelani. The battle royale was your usual battle royale but had 2 nice surprises with Borne winning and Elijah appearing. Jaida/Karmen was fine and Grace/Giulia wasn't that good. We also had Inamura leaving and Jensen shoving it in Briggs' face in a great moment. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall as it had some issues. They really dropped the ball on Vaquer/Giulia. Borne winning was fun but was random. Inamura leaving leaves Briggs in limbo again and the matches for Battleground are looking weak so far.
