Thoughts: It was an okay opener with Nagao getting some surprising nearfalls on Rei. There were too many people in it and not enough time so we didn't get anyone's best work here.

Sho rolls out of a powerbomb then ankle locks him. Sho grounds him with it and Davey taps out.
Thoughts: I was surprised to see Davey lose here. It wasn't bad. Davey did his usual stuff and Sho held onto the ankle lock until Davey tapped. I thought it was alright. Davey was in control for most of this until the finishing stretch.
Sho does a promo after and says, "break a leg". Davey says Sho was the first man to make him submit in AJPW. He says he needs to work on his submissions and says the ring being smaller helped out Sho. He said he might have been able to survive but he had to save himself for the rest of the tournament. He says he can still make first place and says he still loves Zen Nippon. Davey says he wants him in the ring again.

Thoughts: Like the last show, it was one of Xyon's better matches. These two did not look like a good match on paper but they stuck to the heavyweight stuff and did okay with it. They didn't reinvent the wheel here, but there were no botches, they had a few highlights and they generally did seem to work well together.
Xyon does a promo after. He says he came to Japan for an opportunity and saw The Saito's. He says Jun is hard-hitting and strong and he can't wait for the next match. He says he's had a hard couple of days with some losses but he's still standing and nothing will keep him down.

Omori low blows Ren and Honda at the same time when the ref isn't looking. Ken's team is all stacked up in the corner and MK's butt is rammed into them. Omori's team fails on the tower of doom spot and Omori is double powerbombed by his partners.
MK flying hip attacks Omori then Honda hits a big lariat on Omori. Ren spinning falcon arrows Omori and pins him.
Thoughts: It was what I expected. You could tell by the spot on the card and by so many people being involved that it wasn't going to be great or super serious and it wasn't. I suppose it was okay enough but if you were looking for a classic, this wasn't it.

Thoughts: It was a good one and Mike's best match so far in AJPW. Yuma wasn't going to do all the crazy indy stuff and it forced Mike to settle down some. It made for a much better match. The two worked pretty well together and I'd really like to see them do this again on a bigger star.
Mike does a promo in the back after. He says he was close but it slipped away. He says it hurts as he knows he is better than that. He says he's coming back stronger next time and says there's no way out.

AB goes up top and is superplexed down. AB no sells it. Yuma flips him with a lariat then brainbusters him for 1. Yuma does a fisherman buster for 2. Yuma twisting fisherman busters him and wins.
Thoughts: Like all Blanc matches, he did his whole moveset. Yuma also sadly brought some of the comedy when this didn't need it. I thought it dragged on too long, I thought Blanc did way too much and Blanc's no selling wasn't good at the end. It had a lot of potential and Blanc has the tools of paper but he's just not there as a worker yet. If he could just smarten up as a wrestler and work on selling and being more fiery, he'd have a contract somewhere tomorrow.
Yuma talks on the mic after. In the back, Blanc talks. He says he doesn't know if he can still win the tournament. He says he's a kid who wanted to be a wrestler and says he's here in the main of an AJPW show. He says he's proud to represent himself today.
Overall thoughts: The opener was okay for what it was. Yoshida/Suzuki was lousy as expected. Davey/Ashino wasn't bad. Xyon and Jun had a surprisingly decent match. I guess the trios match was okay. Yuma/Mike was good as Yuma kept Mike in check. Blanc/Aoyagi went too long and Blanc did too much without selling much as usual. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 as the semi main was good, Davey's match wasn't bad and Xyon/Jun was a decent heavyweight match. Maybe Mike/Anzai is worth seeing but it wasn't their best work possible.
