WWE Main Event 2/6/2025
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/02/wwe-main-event-1302025.html
Sonya Deville vs Natalya
Sonya got the fired the day this aired so this is her last WWE match. I was never a big Sonya fan and I'm not a big Pure Fusion Collective fan so I'm not very upset about it.
Nat goes up and over SD. Nat leapfrogs her as she slides under. SD boots her away and goes out. SD turns away from the ring outside to talk to Shayna and Zoey and Nat baseball slides her. SD kicks Nat off the apron then Shayna and Zoey stomp on Nat outside.
Sonya hits shots on Nat in the corner. She bulldog chokes her then throws her down backwards. SD walks on Nat. Nat cradles her then SD lariats her. Nat throws her off.
The two trade shots. SD spin kicks her and Nat lariats her for 2. They trade pin attempts. SD crucifixes her. Nat throws her off the dragon sleeper. SD fisherman suplexes her for 2. Nat gets distracted by Zoey and Shayna. SD tries to roll up Nat and Nat reverses it to pin her.
Thoughts: It was acceptable and nothing much of note. They kept it moving though and it made enough sense without any obvious issues.
The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) vs Alpha Academy (Otis and Akira Tozawa)
JC = Julius Creed, BC = Brutus Creed
JC shoves Otis in the corner. Otis shoulders him and BC over. JC knees him out of the corner. Otis is pounded on by both Creeds. Otis double shoulders The Creed's over. Akira is in on Otis' shoulders and he spins Akira into them. Otis then gorilla press throws Akira out onto The Creed's.
We go to break and return. JC has a bulldog choke on Akira. JC stomps on Akira. Akira hits a double ddt on his opponents. Oits gets the hot tag in. He knocks over BC twice then spinning back elbows him. Otis back body drops JC. Otis drops JC with a shot. Otis does the caterpilla elbow drop on BC and his pin is interrupted.
BC overhead exploders Akira. Otis corner splashes BC. Otis slams BC then JC slams down Otis. Ivy Nile pushes Maxxine Duprii into the post outside then JC jumps up top and superplexes Akira. BC then top rope moonsaults Akira and wins it.
Thoughts: It was a good match as expected with a lot of action and some nice spots. These guys gave a pretty good effort here despite this being a throwaway match and I enjoyed this. This met my expectations and was one of those fun WWE Main Event hidden gems that make the show worthwhile.
Overall thoughts: There were only 2 new matches as usual. The women's match was acceptable and the tag match was good as expected. The show was nothing must see but the new matches only totaled about 12 minutes or so and wouldn't be the worst way to spend your time.
