ICW No Holds Barred Volume 24 4/1/2022
It's Wrestlemania Weekend in Texas and ICW is running in New Jersey for some reason.
They have chain ropes, platforms on the posts and other weapons around the ring.
Tank vs Neil Diamond Cutter
The Rev is out there with Tank. He said revenge is the best revenge, not living well. He then introduced Tank. NDC came out with a staple gun.
They sit down on chairs and hit each other with empty water jugs. Tank then starts headbutting him and NDC hits him with the jugs multiple times. Tank is on all fours and NDC sentons his back with a board with poppers. Tank then comes back with a popper bat shot and chokeslams NDC on the popper board. Tank hits NDC in the nuts with a jug then uses a sickle on his nuts.
Tank puts the sickle on NDC's head and cuts him up. The crowd chants "over here" to get Tank to do it their way. NDC then staple gun shots him and they trade a popper bat shot for a popper nunchuk shot. Tank chokes NDC with the nunchuks then sickle's him in the mouth. Tank then licks the sickle.
Tank bangs NDC in the head with a jug then takes some barbed wire nunchuks to the head. NDC find some records and breaks one over Tank's head then stabs him with it. Tank throws NDC through a door then NDC pushes Tank into a carpet strip barricade. NDC then rolls-him up for the sneaky win. Tank gets mad and bangs a door piece over his head after.
The finish worked as NDC is small and he shouldn't be able to beat Tank fairly. The match wasn't too special otherwise with Tank getting most of the offense in before losing.
The SAT vs The Carnage Crew
I don't know how good this would have been in 2002 and I'm really not too confident on it in 2022.
Somone in the front row is getting everyone annoyed by yelling. Devito tells everyone to f-off and wrestles with Jose. Devito continues to go at it with a fan and calls for a fan to be kicked out. The fan runs into a light fixture.
Jose armdrags Devito around and Jose flicks him off. Devito argues with another fan and the Maximos go after the Crew. The Crew hit double flapjacks. Devito and Joel bang each other off the wall and Loc chairs Jose. Loc misses a baseball slide to the outside and gets a chair to the face. Loc takes a michinoku driver and Jose topes Devito. Joel swanton bombs Loc then Loc elbows him through a door. Loc then backdrops an SAT member through a door.
Joel then takes a magic killer. Devito dropkicks Jose. Loc gets death valley drivered onto a chair. Then Devito hits a side effect. Jose climbs the platform and hits a top rope flatliner on Devito to win it.
This was not too good. They spent too long arguing with the fan and the lack of ropes hurt them.
The SAT talked on the mic after and they hugged.
Isaiah Broner vs Tommy Vendetta
Broner spears him through a door to start then stands on his chest. Tommy gets a gusset plate put in his head then is release german suplexed. Broner headbutts him as he sits on a chair in the front row then Broner bangs his head off a door shard. Tommy then speared while on a chair and falls over. Broner hits him with a tube then Vndetta fires up and flurries on him. Tommy then chairs him.
Tommy breaks some tubes on his back then is thrown off of Broner's shoulders into the seats. Broner crossfaces him on the ropes then chokes him with the chain ropes. Tommy throws a chair at his head and they slap each other on their knees. Tommy hits a pumping knee then breaks some tubes on his head. Broner then lariats a tube into his face and flips him on it.
Broner puts some lego's on the mat and swinging side slams him on them for 2. Tommy throws a couple of tubes at his face then piledrivers him on the legos. Tommy then hits a twisting piledriver on the lego's and wins it.
There were some good parts to it though it did go a little longer than it needed to. The tube lariat was the big highlight here.
Kasey Kirk vs Danny Demanto
Danny is with Mittens, his lackey. Kasey hits him with tubes during his intro. She then climbs the platform and dives on him outside. Danny hits a swinging flatliner but then gets a gusset plate in his head. Kasey then squeezes a lemon in his cut and pours salt on it. Danny then comes back with a backbreaker.
They go outside and Kasey gets a gusset plate in her head. then has salt poured on the cut. Mittens (Danny's buddy) holds up Kasey for a shot but ends up getting hit in the head with the popper bat. Danny then breaks a tube over her head and stabs her with it. Kasey's face is covered in blood and she jumps off the top with a codebreaker. Danny does a sitout dominator for 2.
Kasey breaks tubes over his head for 2 then Kasey takes a 2nd rope sitout dominator through a door...for 2. They hit each other over the head with tubes then Kasey drops a chair on him from the top to win it.
I didn't like this at all. They did too much and it just wasn't believeable.
Azrael attacks Danny after and Mittens as well. The Sandman! then appears and does his big entrance. He spits beer at Azrael and gets it all over the camera. Sandman slowly gets into the ring and canes Azrael.
Two fat boys going at it here. We have salt on the mat, a door, a popper bat, light tubes, carpet strips and other goodies.
They run into each other sumo style and Satu breaks some tubes on Jeff. Satu stabs Jeff with a tube then Jeff hits him with a gusset plate board. Jeff rubs salt into Satu's wounds then throws him into a door. Jeff then sto's him on a tube. Satu hits a belly to belly.
Satu gets out a giant blade and cuts up his head then slices his mouth. Satu then rubs salt in his mouth and cannonballs him into a door. Jeff breaks a tube over Jinn's head then Jinn does it back. Jinn then steps him with something and Jeff hits glass with a badminton racket on Jinn's back. Jeff punches Jinn a bunch of times.
Jinn cracks a beer open and spits it at him. They then sit down on chairs and hit each other with vinyl records. Jinn then running headbutts him. Jinn then gets backdropped on a trash can for 2. Jeff butterfly piledrivers him on tubes but honestly sits in them just as much.
Jeff gets a knife and stabbs Jinn with it then licks it. A knifeboard is set up on chairs and Jeff gets rock bottomed through it for the Satuu Jinn win.
It dragged a little towards the end but it was entertaining. I wish we could have gotten more lariats and big guys splashing each other but that's life.
Bobby Beverly vs SHLAK
They ram into each other with tubes to start and hit each other with some. They then lariat each other down at the same time. Shlak hits him with tubes then throws some longer tubes at him and they get stuck. He then double axe handles a tube bundle in BB's face.
BB headbutts some tubes in Shklak's head then Shlak rubs tube pieces in his head. Shlak then scratches at his wounds and bites his hand. BB brakes a tube bundle on Shlak's back then throws a bundle of long tubes at him. Shlak then does the same and BB does it to him. They crash into each other with tubes then BB takes a stiff backdrop for 2. BB then gives him a suplex back and Shlak slams tubes in the back of his head to break the count.
They trade headbutts and try some pin attempts. Shlak picks up tubes and gets crossbodied then gets splashed with tubes. Shlak then gets backdropped through a door for 2. Shlak gives him a stiff chokeslam through chair seats. BB gets a bunch of tubes put on him then Shlak elbow drops him off a platform for the win.
This was short and sweet and was good stuff. I liked them colliding into each other with tubes and I liked them just throwing tube bundles at each other. The backdrop suplexes were also real stiff here.
John Wayne Murdoch vs Atticus Cogar
JWM talks on the mic then Cogar comes from behind with a tube stack and nails him. Cogar then hits him with more. JWM stabs him with a knife then hits him with a barbed wire, light tube crutch. JWM then headbutts tubes into his head. JWM then pushes a gusset plate in him and slams him on tubes and throws some tubes at him.
JWM stabs him with knives and scrapes them on his head. He then throws tubes at his back and stabs him with some knives. JWM misses a kick and AC hits his back with tubes. JWM hangs off the top rope and AC asai moonaults him. AC puts skewer sticks in JWM's arm and stabs him with something.
AC throws tubes at JWM from the ring to the outside then stabs him with skewers again. JWM gets a gusset plate put in his arm then gets hit with a tube bundle. JWM gets more skewers in his head and gets hit with another tube bundle. JWM hits some punches and an elbow then popper bats him in the gut. JMW then piledrivers him for 2. AC air raid crashes him on tubes then headlock drivers him on tubes for 2.
A door gets bridged on chairs and tubes are put on it. They both climb up on a platform and JWM canadian destroyers him off the top through those. Bobby Beverly and Eric Ryan I think then comes in and beats up on JWM then Cogar picks up the cheap win. He puts a Circle 6 shirt on JWM and leaves.
AC wasn't great here and this one wasn't too special. At least the dirty finish was not for nothing though as it starts up a new angle.
American Deathmatch Championship: Eric Ryan (c) vs Dale Patricks
Someone throws a bra in the ring at Dale. He throws it out and someone throws it back in.
Eric hits him with tubes during his intro and then Eric goes into the tubes. Dale then fire thunders him for 2. Eric gets his head slammed on tubes which breaks them and Dale breaks a bundle over Eric's head. Eric knees some tubes into his gut and throws him into tubes on the ropes. Erci then slams a bundle of tubes on Dale and punches a few in his face.
Dale goes into the tubes then Eric puts some tubes in Dale's shirt and stomps them. Eric throws a tube bundle at him. Dale catches a bundle thrown at him and hits him with it. Dale breaks a bundle over Eric's head then Eric does it to him. Dale underhook powerbombs him then chokeslams him for 2.
Dale gets tubes put behind his head and is dragon suplexed then Eric suplexes him for 2. Eric stomps on Dale's head and the ref stops it in a lame ending that was out of nowhere.
Ref stoppages can be okay but they are a tough one to pull on a deathmatch show. It just looks silly when people are getting stabbed with knives and stuff but that doesn't stop it while stomps to the head end it. The crowd doesn't enjoy these finishes and it's just not what fans are used to. And this is the 2nd time in the last 3 shows we had a bad finish like that in the main. As for the match, the two don't bring a ton to the table but weapons shots and the weapons stuff loses it's coolness as it goes on.
Overall thoughts: This was a long show at over 3 hours. Shlak's match was the best and seeing Sandman was cool, but the tag match wasn't good and I didn't like the intergender match. There was a lot of clean-up and set-up after each match which made the show go longer.
