WWE Main Event 3/17/2021
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/03/wwe-main-event-3102021.html
As always, Main Event is a recap show that usually has 2 new matches. It is mostly a B-show version of 205 Live, since all of the smaller guys end up on here.
Lince Dorado with Gran Metallik vs Akira Tozawa
Lince springboard armdrags him early. Lince handsprings into the ropes and is dropkicked in the back. Tozawa senton's Lince for 2 and takes a couple of slaps. Lince hits a running headscissors and titl-a-whirl backbreakers Tozawa. Lince flying crossbodies him off the top for another 2.
Lince misses a moonsault attempt and Tozawa comes back with a spin kick, then he does his flying back elbow off the top for 2. They go up top and Tozawa is knocked off before Lince beats him with a top rope shooting star press. This was slow and neither guy put much effort into this, though I certainly don't blame them since no one watches this and this didn't matter.
Humberto Carrillo vs Angel Garza
If you say Carrillo's name fast, it kind of sounds like Alberto Del Rio. They go to the mat early as Garza gets his bow and arrow reversed. HC hits a flying headscissors then springboard armdrags him to send out Garza. We go to break and return. Garza kicks HC in the back multiple times and pushes him out. HC gets put in the tree of woe and is dropkicked.
Garza ties up HC's legs then stretches the arm in a Regal stretch type of move. Garza puts him in another armlock and grabs his face on top of it. HC mounts a comeback with a springboard back elbow then a spinebuster. He then standing moonsaults Garza for 2. The two double crossbody each other at the same time, colliding in mid-air. Garza hits a big right hand then hits a wing clipeer for the win. This was fine for what it was, but what can you do when there is no story, no time and no crowd?
Overall thoughts: It's Main Event. The matches are just filler. It's rarely ever a must see show but Garza/Carrillo was fine.
