WWE 205 Live 3/12/2021
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/03/wwe-205-live-352021.html
Ever-Rise joins the commentators at the booth. The Bollywood Boyz come out for their usual entrance and hug E-R.
Mansoor and Curt Stallion vs The Bollywood Boyz
This is an odd pairing since Mansoor and Curt fought last week. The announcers bring up that the BollyRise partnership hasn't been working well. Parker says the announcers are just stirring the pot. Mansoor takes a double back elbow from the Boyz. He comes back though with a double dropkick on both and hits a great dropkick.
The Boyz hit a double suplex on Mansoor and Sunil chinlocks Mansoor. Samir comes off the top with a diving back elbow then Sunil drops an elbow off the top on Mansoor. Mansoor comes back with shots and lariats on the Boyz and is basically 1v2'ing the Boyz at this point. Mansoor hits his slingshot neckbreaker on Sunil and Curt blind tags himself in. Curt then headbutts Samir and wins it. Curt and Mansoor then stare down in what was a total squash of the Boyz.
We see the same Jordan Devlin promo we saw on NXT this week with him coming to challenge Escobar. Nigel compares it to the "Real World's Champion" angle with Ric Flair in the 90's.
August Grey vs Ariya Daivari
Nese and Atlas are banned from ringside. They shove each other to start and exchange headlock takeovers. Grey hurricanrana's Ariya and we get another headlock. Ariya dropkicks Grey off the apron and then takes a neckbreaker from a bridged position on the apron to the floor.
Back in and Ariya spins Grey with a lariat. They trade punches and Ariya turns Grey's version of the unprettier into his own unprettier. Ariya goes for a splash from the top and misses. They then double clothesline each other, knocking each other down. Grye comes back with a jawbreaker and a neckbreaker then he does something almost like a northern lights bomb. Grey hits a twisting suplex for 2.
Ariya takes an iconoclasm from the top then frogsplashes him from the top. Grey hits a very very odd move that I've never seen before. It starts with like a buckingham drop/tequila shot and ends in backdrop style slam. Grey STO's Ariya on the apron then tope's him on the outside. He walks the top for his twisting crossbody but Ariya moves. Grey goes for a sunset flip but Ariya holds the ropes and gets caught. Ariya argues with the ref and gets caught with a superkick. Ariya goes into the buckles chest first and Grey rolls him up with his feet on the ropes to win. Ariya is shocked by it.
I didn't think the match was too special but Grey using Ariya's tactic of getting leverage off the ropes on him was a neat finish.
Overall thoughts: As usual, 205 Live is very limited by its length. It wasn't a bad show and you can only be so bad anyway in 30 minutes, but it wasn't that good either.
