New Japan Pro Wrestling 11/20/2025 World Tag League 2025 Day 1

YOH comes out with his title and acts wild, arguing with the ring announcer before the show. He is carried away. We are later told he challenged for the 6-man tag titles.

Monster Sauce (Alex Zayne & Lance Archer) & Zane Jay vs. House Of Torture (Ren Narita, SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

San piefaces Lance and Lance grabs him by the throat. The heels hit Lance. Lance hits a double crossbody. Lance slams his partners onto the heels. Alex spin kicks San in the gut. Alex is tripped, pulled to the outside and sent into the rails. 

San boots Lance in the gut in the corner. Ren rakes Alex's face on the ropes. Alex takes a double back elbow. Kanemaru step up enzugiri's Alex. Alex running corkscrew ssp's Kanemaru. Kanemaru eye rakes and suplexes Alex.

Alex forearms San, San falls back and low blows him. Alex step up enzugiri's Ren. Zane comes in and hits shots on Ren. Zane dropkicks Ren for 2. Ren sunset flips Zane into a leg lock. Ren then single leg crabs him. Lane tries to break it up and Kanemaru spits whiskey in Lance's eyes. Lance is pulled over the top. San puts a paradise lock on Alex while Ren crabs Zane. Ren submits Zane.

Thoughts: It was a short one and not much of note here with the heels doing some cheating and them taking the easy way out with the young lion losing.

United Empire (Callum Newman, Great-O-Khan & Jakob Austin Young) vs. TMDK (Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.)

Khan and Oiwa go at it. They trade waistlocks. Khan fireman's carry throws him. Oiwa side headlock takeovers him. CN then facekicks Oiwa from the side. CN throws Zack into the rails outside. Oiwa is sent into the rails. Everyone fights outside and Khan gets a 2 count on Oiwa inside. Khan sits on Oiwa's neck on the buckles.

CN running facekicks Oiwa. Oiwa dropkicks him. Hart gets in and shoulders over all 3 opponents. Hart corner splashes them several times. Hart lariats CN then sentons him. Zack boots CN around in the head then euros him. CN enzugiri's and facekicks him. They then double facekick each other at the same time.

Jake comes in and tornado ddt's Oiwa for 2. Oiwa backdrops him. Jake has his leg worked on then Oiwa figure fours him. Jake slingblades him. Oiwa blocks an an enzugiri and does a heel hook on Jake. He then submits him.

Thoughts: It was another shorter one without a lot of time wasted. Oiwa did almost all the work here with Zack and Hart barely getting in. 

CN pushes Oiwa down after. 

El Phantasmo, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Katsuya Murashima vs. Shoma Kato, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura

Kato and KM go at it. KM pulls him down by the arm and they wrestle on the mat. KM side headlock takeovers him and is put in a headscissors him. ELP and Shota get up in each other's faces and trade forearms. Shota shoulders him over. ELP rolls up Shota. Shota avoids a superkick and they stand off.

Tana side headlocks Yuya. Tana shoulders him over. Yuya then armdrags him. Tana htis forearms on Yuya then is slammed. Kato comes in and trades forearms with Tana. Tana slaps Kato. KM hits chops and forearms on Kato. 

KM slams Kato for 2. KM's team gets chops in on Kato. Kato running forearms ELP and misses a dropkick. ELP misses an asai moonsault. Kato then dropkicks ELP. Yuya hits a top rope chop on ELP then he gets offense in on KM and Tana. 

Yuya bulldogs ELP for 2. ELP is hit with corner attacks then he takes a double backdrop from Shota and Yuya for 2. Tana hits shots on them then takes a double dropkick. ELP step up enzugiri's Shota then dropkicks him.

KM comes in and shoulders over Kato. He hits forearms on Shota then shoulders him over. Shota takes corner attacks. KM powerslams Shota for 2. Tana and ELP go up top together and get stopped. KM backslides Shota for 2. Shota running lariats him and pins him.

Thoughts: I liked this match. Shota and Yuya looked good together. KM put out a good performance as usual and we had some fun stuff with Tanahashi in this. 

Knockout Brothers (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) & Daiki Nagai vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (David Finlay & Gedo) & Hiromu Takahashi

HT chops Ice multiple times to start. HT dropkicks him in the knee. HT whips Gedo into a crossbody on Ice and Nagai. Oskar gets mad and comes in to argue. Ice hits chest kicks on Gedo and spin kicks him in the gut. Ice corner meteora's him. 

Oskar comes in and misses a corner charge. Gedo eye pokes Oskar. DF gets in and eye pokes Oskar. DF flying euros Oskar in the corner and chokes him. DF hits corner lariats. DF sunset flips him for 2. Oskar spinning slams him. Nagai comes in and dropkicks DF. Nagai running back elbows him. DF hits an irish curse backbreaker on him.

DF powerbombs HT onto the heels outside. Nagai rolls up DF for 2. Nagai hits forearms on DF. DF lariats Nagai then powerbombs him. DF then pins him.

Thoughts: It was another short waste of time. Everyone got a quick segment in and not much else. Hiromu getting powerbombed to the outside onto people was a waste of a bump as this didn't matter at all. 

Ice and Hiromu butt heads after and Ice punches him. Ice then stands on his throat. HT talks trash, Ice comes back in. DF grabs Ice. Ice and HT fight outside. 

They announce the names for this year's Fantasticamania tour: Mistico, Mascara Dorada, Titan, Atlantis Sr., Atlantis Jr., Templario, Stigma, Ultimo Guerrero, Hechicero, Averno, Soberano Jr., Okumura, Magnus, Futuro, Valiente Jr. and Hijo de Stuka Jr.

World Tag League 2025 Block A Match - El Desperado & Shuji Ishikawa vs. Oleg Boltin & Toru Yano

Oleg and Shuji shoulder battle. Shuji shoulders him over. Shuji's team tries a double shoulderblock but only Oleg and Despy get knocked over. Despy boots Oleg in the gut and is thrown hard in the buckles. Yano then throws Despy into the exposed buckles. 

Yano eye rakes Despy and sends him into the exposed buckles again. Oleg does karelin's lift on Despy and throws him into the buckles hard. Despy hits chops on Oleg then is chopped over. Oleg is then thrown into the exposed buckle. Shuji comes in and double crossbodies the heels. 

Shuji double stomps Oleg. Oleg and Shuji trade forearms. They lariat battle. Oleg suplexes Shuji. Yano comes in. Shuji misses a corner charge and is rolled up. Yano tries to atomic drop Shuji but he's too tall and doesn't get hit. Yano hits him from behind then Shuji lariats him for 2.

Shuji knees Yano in the gut and slams him. Despy double stomps Yano off the 2nd rope then Shuji does the same. Shuji running knees Yano for 2. Despy slaps Oleg. Shuji corner lariats Oleg. The ref is knocked down, Yano low blows Shuji then pins him.

Thoughts: It wasn't real serious unfortunately. Maybe it was somewhat entertaining but this wasn't a good way to kick off this tag league. Despy was basically treated like a joke here.

World Tag League 2025 Block A Match - House Of Torture (Don Fale & EVIL) (w/Dick Togo) vs. House Of Torture (Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi)

Evil and Yujiro go at it. Both get chants from the crowd. Yujiro eye rakes him and chokes him in the corner. Chase then chokes Evil. Evil's head is banged off of Chase's knee. Togo trips Chase from the outside. Chase eye rakes Fale. Fale shoulders him over. Evil bangs Yujiro's head off the sign in the stands. Chase and Fale also fight outside.

Fale misses a corner splash. Chase running forearms Fale. Fale hits Chase in the gut. Chase dropkicks Fale off the buckles. Evil corner lariats Yujiro. Yujiro bites Evil's hand and reverse ddt's him for 2. Evil then bites Yujiro's hand.

Evil goes into the ref when Yujiro moves. Yoshinobu Kanemaru runs in. He shares his whiskey with everyone. They all drink. Evil spits the whiskey at Chase. Chase ddt's Yujiro on accident. Fale elbow drops Yujiro and Evil sharpshooters Yujiro. Yujiro taps him out.

Thoughts: It was a bunch of heel nonsense as you would expect, then everyone came in and drank whiskey during the match. Yujiro had it sprayed in his eyes and that lead to finish.  

The heels then all make friends after. 

World Tag League 2025 Block A Match - Satoshi Kojima & Taichi vs. Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI)

Tai and Goto lock up. Goto side headlocks him. Tai facekicks him then Goto shoulders him over. Koji takes a double shoulderblock then Yoshi is hiptossed onto him. Yoshi baseball slides Tai in the knee. Goto stomps the knee. Tai's legs are split. Yoshi elbows Tai's knee.

Tai is double clubbed on. Goto stomps Tai and clubs him. Tai hits head chops. Tai boots him out of the corner. Tai enzugiri's him in the corner. Koji chops Goto in the corner then flying forearms him in the corner. Koji 2nd rope elbow drops him for 2. 

Koji spinning forearms Goto and ddt's him. Goto lariats him off the ropes. Yoshi gets in and chops Koji in the corner. Koji hits a koji cutter. Tai hits Kawada kicks on Yoshi. They trade chops. Tai drops him with a forearm.

Tai takes his pants off. Tai takes corner attacks then a headhunter + russian legsweep combo. Tai is held by Goto for a dragon screw. Yoshi does a figure four variation on Tai. Tai is hit with a superkick and then an ushigoroshi. Yoshi running lariats Tai for 2. 

Goto is hit with a sandwich lariat. Yoshi superkicks Koji. Tai brainbusters Yoshi. Koji running lariats Yoshi then Tai hits an air raid crash on Yoshi and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a good enough tag as expected here. We got four guys who are good at tag wrestling and they produced good results. Tai was said to have injured his leg coming into this and it was worked on for a lot of the match before Tai and Koji squeaked this one out. This was by far the best thing on here but that's not saying that much. 

World Tag League 2025 Block A Match - Drilla Moloney & Shingo Takagi vs. Gabe Kidd & Yota Tsuji

Yota and Shingo trade wristlocks. Shingo shoulders him over then Yota shoulders him over. Gabe and DM go at it. Gabe wristlocks him. DM headflips out and Gabe barks at him. Gabe overhead throws him but DM gets back up. They shoulder battle and then trade chops. DM hits a nice dropkick. They go out and DM takes an exploder on the floor. Yota bangs Shingo's head off the commentary table then Shingo does the same to him. Gabe sends DM into the seats and they fight in the bleachers. Gabe's head is banged off the sign.

Shingo is sent into the rails and has his head banged off the sign in the stands. DM is sent into the post. Gabe stomps DM. They trade chops. Gabe lariats him for 2. Yota hits corner spears on DM. Shingo throws a chair in and Yota catches it. DM suplexes Yota. 

Shingo hits a flatliner and ddt combo on Yota and Gabe. Shingo goes his taunt, gabe hits him from behind and does his own vrersion of it. DM then hits him from behind and tries to do it but Yota interrupts him. Yota then tries. Shingo double lariats his opponents then him and DM do Shingo's taunt.

Yota and Gabe take stereo slams then stereo top rope elbow drops for 2. Shingo does the WAR special on Yota. DM chops Yota in the corner. DM boots him out of the corner and drives his face into the mat. Gabe chops and headbutts DM. Gabe corner lariats him. Gabe backdrops DM for 2. DM hits corner lariats. Gabe rebound lariats DM for 2. 

Gabe and Shingo trade forearms. Gabe hits a couple of headbutts and is lariated. Yota superkicks Shingo then DM hits Yota with a spinebuster. All four men are down. Yota and DM stare down. They block each other's moves. Yota chops him then DM superkicks him. Yota headbutts him and both go down. Gabe and Shingo double lariat each other. Shingo backdrops him. 

Yota flatliners Shingo then curbstomps him. Yota pumping knees Dm in the corner. DM death valley drivers Yota. Gabe flying knees DM and all four are down again. Shingo and Gabe trade shots then hold each other for lariats. Shingo forearm flurries Gabe. Gabe slap flurries and punches him. DM rolling spears Gabe. Yota running lariats DM. Shingo lariats Yota then running lariats Gabe for 2. Gabe takes a coriolis and is pinned.

Thoughts: It was a good tag. It was all action here and it had a lot of the issues these guys have with selling since the next guy could step up when the first man went down. It was hard hitting and the four work similar styles so the rhythm was there. I enjoyed this and it was what I hoped it would be.

Shingo talks on the mic and says him and Drilla don't have matches for 1/4. Shingo wants to make a team name. Drilla says they should be called "War Dragon".  They do a poll over their team name though I couldn't understand Shingo's suggestion for their name.

SHO then pops up in the ring after.

Overall thoughts: The main and semi-main saved this one. Oleg's match was all goofing around and House of Torture's match wasn't that much off as it was all heel tactics. The other tags didn't get much time though I liked the Tanahashi match. I'd give this a low 6 out of 10 just for the two top matches being good and I'd save it was a little above average.
