We are in Houston, Texas.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring. He says Full Gear is on the way and says there will be a new "national" champion. 

The Opps come out and interrupt Tony. Joe says, "Houston, we have a problem". Joe says Tony will say he had nothing to do with what happened last week but he finds it hard to believe. Tony says he respects Joe and Joe tells him to shut up. Joe says there are consequences for actions and says the consequences involve him. 

Security come out. Joe says Tony is just going to get more people hurt. Adam Page then comes out. Joe says now we can take care of 2 problems at once. Eddie Kingston and Hook then come down and The Opps leave.

Page says he can forgive The Opps for getting confused. He says Hangman is right here. Page says he is Joe's problem and says if he wants to handle his problem, he will beat his @ss. Hook challenges The Opps to put their titles on the line tonight. Joe agrees. Tony Schiavone then says it's official.

Blood and Guts Advantage Battle Match 1 - Orange Cassidy vs Claudio Castagnoli

There's a best of 3 series here and the winning teams get the advantage in Blood and Guts.

OC hits topes on CC to start. He hits mounted punches on the rails. CC gorilla press throws him into the ring. CC"s head is banged off the buckles and he is thrown throat first into the ropes. The match then officially begins.

CC pops up OC and is armdragged. OC's tope is caught. CC drops OC gut first on the rails. CC throws him back into the ring after carrying him up the steps. OC's slingshot is caught. OC is on CC's back with a sleeper. CC splits OC's fingers then giant swings him. We go to PiP break and return.

CC euros OC. CC suplexes him. OC puts his hands in his pockets and CC karelin's lifts him. CC lifts him up by the pants and hits shots in the corner. OC 2nd rope diving headscissors him with his hands in his pockets. OC dropkicks him with his hands in his pockets. 

OC backslides him for 2. OC pump kicks him but mostly misses. OC spinning ddt's him on the floor. OC spinning ddt's him inside for 2. CC sunset flips him and holds on for a sitout powerbomb for 2. 

CC crossfaces him. OC hurricanrana's him then is hit with a muso. CC low diving euros him for 2. CC hits euros. CC tries to deadlift superplex him from the 2nd rope but OC hits a stunner. CC pops up OC and OC forearms him. CC pop-up euros him for the win.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. CC's being all serious and OC did his stupid pockets spot multiple times. It also went a little longer for the opener.

Renee interviews Mark Briscoe, Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis. Mark says he challenged Kyle for his TNT Title 2 weeks ago. He said he got a response from Don but he wants one from Kyle. Mark wants a No DQ match with him. Kyle says he likes it. Don says he wants something in return. Don says Mark has to join The Don Callis Family if he loses. Mark says it's making a deal with the devil but he says he won't lose. He says Don made a deal with the devil and he's got it.

The Young Bucks, Don Callis and Josh Alexander are interviewed about the million dollar trios match at Full Gear. Renee asks if they have joined Don Callis. Don says when he saw The Bucks treated as jobbers, he decided they would get the treatment they deserve. He says when you are with him, you are with The Family. The Family then walks in and Okada greets them. The Bucks says it's a lot and they need more time. Don then says we need to give them their space. Okada makes a goofy face and says, "don't take too much time".

AEW Women's Tag Title Tournament Quarterfinals - Mercedes Mone and Athena vs Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron

The heels hit the faces from behind. Mone hits mounted forearms on Harley. Ath foot chokes Har in the corner. Mone chokes Har on the ropes and knees her in the face for 2. Ath forearms Har down then hits knees to the back.

Ath hits mounted forearms on Har. Har backdrops Mone. Willow comes in and hits lariats on Mone. She sends Ath into her then corner splashes them. She sends the heels into each other and 2nd rope dropkicks them. The heels take stereo enzugiri's. Willow drops Har into a splash on Mone for 2. 

Ath dropkicks Willow off the apron. Mone backcrackers Har. Mone holds the ropes open for an Ath tope on Willow. Ath spinning drops Mone into a splash on Har for 2.

We go to PiP break and return. Mone hits 2 suplexes on Har then Har escapes a double suplex. Har then does a double crucifix bomb on them. Willow hits a double lariat. Willow hits corner lariats on Ath. Willow corner cannonballs Ath then spinebusters her for 2.

Mone crossbodies Willow for 2. Willow side slams Mone. Mone takes shots from the faces. Har hits soul foot then is hit with a gordbuster. Willow lariats Ath. Mone backcrackers Har and crossfaces her. Willow knocks Ath onto them to break it.

Ath and Willow trade forearms. Ath step up enzugiri's her. Willow lariats her. Willow death valley drivers Mone then misses a corner cannonball. Someone lost a hair extension in the ring. Ath is holding both opponents in the ir and fallaway slams both for 2. Billie Starkz comes down and wants Ath's title. Kris Statlander comes down and lariats Billie. Willow powerbombs Ath and Har twisting neckbreakers Ath to win.

Thoughts: Athena and Mone losing here really makes no sense. They put them together for no reason whatsoever over Ath/Starkz just to lose. That's just pure stupidity. The match wasn't bad and was definitely better than I expected. It was very fast paced with a lot of action. Someone lost their hair extension in the ring during the match.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring. He says Tony Khan announced a casino gauntlet match at Full Gear for the AEW National Championship. Tony says it's been 40 years since the National Championship has been on TBS. He says two wrestlers have signed up for it so far and it's Bobby Lashley and MVP.

Tony interviews The Hurt Syndicate. MVP says the National Title is history in AEW. He talks about people who held the NWA National Title. MVP says when it comes to iconic, who is more iconic than Lashley? He says who is better than Shelton? He says both men. Tony asks what happens if they face each other. MVP says The Hurt Syndicate wins and the AEW audience wins.

The Demand comes out. Ricochet's mic seems to give out. He says they want to give The Hurt Syndicate credit where it is due. Ric says every time he grabs the mic, he says, "I told you so". He says he told us he would do everything to make sure The Hurt's never win gold again. 

Ric says The Hurt's are making him mad. MVP says no one cares what they say. MVP says the only thing they do well is get beaten by them. MVP threatens them if Ric doesn't shut up. Ric says the only thing they need to know is The Demand will be met and Ricochet will walk out National champ.

Thoughts: Another title is the last thing AEW needs. I think most people could not name all the champs now and another title just adds to the confusion (and the AEW Unified Title situation is very confusing). It's not the end of the world. It won't change things but it's just unnecessary. I think because AEW is so poor at coming up with angles and programs, they just make titles instead to set up matches. I also think they give people title reigns to placate them and to keep them in their own universes away from other people and titles. I also didn't like them implying that this title had the same lineage as the NWA National Title, which is still active.

Jack Perry and Luchasaurus talk. They say there are things more important than money. He says he knows The Young Bucks are going through a rough patch. He then puts money on a box and stabs it with a knife. Lucha goes to grab it and Jack says to leave it.

Blood and Guts Advantage Battle Match 2 - Darby Allin vs Daniel Garcia

DG waistlock takedowns him then paintbrush slaps him. DA side headlocks him. DG grabs the ear and double throat thrusts him down. DG hits boots to the gut and foot chokes him. DG chokes him with the turnbuckle connector pad. DA puts DG's arm into the ring post then bites and elbows it.

DA tope con hilos him through the ropes. DA shotgun dropkicks him into the rails. DG traps him in the ring skirt and hits forearms. DG throws DA into the steps knee first.

We go to PiP break and return. DA trips him into a grounded guillotine. They trade grounded sleepers. DG hanging sleepers him on the 2nd rope. DG superplexes him then holds on. DG reverse ddt's him. 

DA is tripped up top and lands back first on the buckles. DG dropkicks the steps into DA's head. DA is busted open and Pac lriats him outside on the floor. DG hits chest slaps. DG sharpshooters him. DA then sharpshooters him. DG then taps out.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time and was already. Darby took some nasty looking bumps as usual and picked up the win. Darby also got busted open here. I was fine with this one.

Pac attcks Darby from behind after. Pac facekicks him. Orange Cassidy comes out and hits Pac. Wheeler Yuta then nails OC and DG helps beat him up. Roderick Strong and Jon Moxley come out. Kyle O'Reilly also comes out. Pac tombstones OC and CC neutralizers Darby. Roderick Strong then somehow scares off all the heels without a weapon which is just odd. 

FTR come out to talk minus Stokeley Hathaway. Cash says they won a 4-way to become #1 contenders to the tag titles. Cash says they should have been 3x champs in London but Brodido took it from them. Cash calls them out and says they have a bone to pick with them.

Renee and Stokeley Hathaway are in the back. They are in front of Brodido's locker room and Stoke says they are locked in and he's been trying to get them out all night. FTR then go up to Bandido's family at ringside. Dax tries to talk Spanish to them. He asks how old Bandido's grandma is and takes the mic away from her when she answers. He says if they are talking Day of the Dead, she takes the cake.

Dax takes the title from her again and says she's probably embarrassed to call Bandido and Gravity their familia. Dax says if she's good, they will adopt her as their abuela. Dax says they should seal it with a kiss and she slaps Dax. Gravity then fights with FTR. Brody King then punches through the door and grabs Stoke.

Dax beats up on Gravity in the ring. Brodido come out and FTR runs.

Women's Blood and Guts Advantage Battle Match 1 - Megan Bayne vs Mina Shirakawa

Toni Storm is on commentary. Meg piefaces MS on the ropes. Mina hits forearms and tries to shoulder her over. Meg shoulders her over for 1. Mina dropkicks Meg in the knee then buzzsaw kicks her. Mina dropkicks her then dropkicks her off the apron. Mina top rope plancha's her outside.
Meg 2nd rope fallaway slams Mina. 

We go to PiP break and return. Meg misses a corner charge. Mina kicks her off the ropes. Mina trips her the springboard tornillos her for 2. Meg germans her. Mina high kicks her on the apron then suplexes her on the apron. Meg 2nd rope superplexes her. 

Mina headscissos her into the buckles and spinning forearms her from behind. Mina top rope diving slingblades her for 2. Marina Shafir comes out and sleepers Toni Storm on commentary. Meg flying lariats Mina then running sitout powerbombs her to win.

Thoughts: Meg got the win as expected here. It was alright enough but nothing too great. It just didn't get the time.

Meg holds Mina for shots from Shafir after. Toni then chases the heels off with a chair. Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue then attack Min and Toni from behind. The other girls in blood and Guts then come down. Statlander drops Mone on the ramp with a forearm. The faces stand tall.

AEW Trios Titles - The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs) vs Adam Page, Eddie Kingston and Hook

Joe avoids Page. KS and Page forearm each other. Page facekicks him. Page hits chops and forearms. Page corner lariats KS and KS flying corner facekicks him. Page lariats KS for 2. Hook corner lariats KS then northern lights suplexes him for 2. 

Hobbs boots Hook. Hook hits forearms. Hobbs backbreakers him twice. Hook overhead suplexes Hobbs. We go to PiP break and return. Joe does a trapezius hold on Eddie. They say Hook is injured on the floor. Joe running back elbows Eddie.

Joe double chops Eddie's neck and trapezius holds him again. Joe misses a senton on Eddie. Hobbs and Page get in. Page springboard lariats KS on the apron and pulls Hobbs out. Page's plancha on Hobbs is caught. Hobbs is pushed into the post. Page top rope moonsaults Hobbs for 2.

Page forearms Hobbs then topes KS. Eddie running STO's Hobbs. Joe running lariats Eddie. KS does an STO to Hook. Eddie tries top rope Hobbs but is hit then german'd by KS. Hook pounces Page on the ramp and says, "cowboy sh!t, my @ss". Page spinning forearms Hobbs on the stage twice. Hobbs world's strongest slams him off the stage through a table. 

Eddie is double teamed inside. KS facekicks Joe on accident. Eddie exploders KS. Hobbs rams Eddie into the corner. Hobbs torture racks Hook and submits him.

Thoughts: It was a good main. Hook's back was injured and they submitted him with a rack. We got a big table spot as well. I had no problems with this and I liked it.

We see Page down and being worked on as the show ends.

Overall thoughts: I didn't like the opener as Orange did his usual comedy and brought down a serious match. The women's tournament tag match was fine but the result was odd. Darby/Garcia was also fine and was the usual Darby match. Bayne/Mina was alright enough but closer to average. I liked the main. This had a lot of okay wrestling here. We also had the announcement of the AEW National Title, which I don't think is necessary. I would give this a 6 out of 10 overall and I thought the show was fine.
