TNA Impact 11/28/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/11/tna-impact-11212024.html

Matthew Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan are our commentators. There's all dark matches on tonight as this is airing on Thanksgiving.

The System (Moose, Eddie Edwards and JDC) vs PCO, Sami Callihan and Joe Hendry

This is from October 2024 though it didn't air on TV.

Joe says he's here with The Death Machine and PCO, who is already dead. He says the crowd will chant we believe and says they believe in Joe Hendry.

Eddie takes a running shoulder from Sami. Sami slams Eddie then legdrops him. Eddie eye pokes PCO and PCO facekicks him. PCO lariats him over. Eddie grabs Sami by the hair and the two sides stand off. Everyone goes out to fight.

Alisha Edwards gets on the apron, Brian Myers distracts Sami and Moose facekicks Sami. Alisha chokes Sami on the ropes. Sami suplexes Moose. Joe hits lariats on Eddie when he gets in. Joe fallway slams Eddie. Eddie goes for  standing ovation on Eddie and Moose breaks it up. Moose fallaway slams Joe. PCO ddt's Moose. Eddie superkicks PCO. Sami lariats Eddie.

PCO chokeslams JDC then Sami short piledrivers Eddie. Joe hits a standing ovation on Eddie and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a short one here that was to the point. The heels got some offense and cheating in then the faces won. It wasn't much of note.

Jordynne Grace vs Dani Luna

This is from June 2024. Jody Threat is on commentary. Dani and JG lock up. Dani goes at her and misses then goes into the corner. JG side headlocks her. They shoulder battle and Dani shoulders her over. Grace then shoulders her over. They go face to face. JG slaps her and they trade forearms.

JG throws her out and topes her. Dani doesn't go down, gets thrown in then Dani topes JG. JG jackhammers Dani on the floor. JG kind of takes a back body drop on the apron.

Dani hits a slingshot blue thunder for 2. Dani spinning back elbows JG. JG does a regalplex then hits a made in japan for the win.

Thoughts: It wasn't that good. They didn't have a lot of chemistry together and the crowd didn't care. It was slower and not much happened early on.

We see The Good Hands, Sami, PCO and Xia playing poker in the back. Hotch is all in on a hand and Xia folds. Sami says he's all in. Sami thinks he won the hand with aces and eights but PCO has a "flush royale" and wins. The Good Hands accuse them of cheating. Sami says PCO would never cheat and pulls a card down from PCO's pocket. Santino Marella then appears between these people. He says he will make a tag match between them next week to solve this. Xia says she lost everything and asks what about her. Skyler says no one cares as she's a little girl and she pies him.

The announcers say this is the time of year when you think about what you are thankful for. And they say the X-Division is one of those things. They talk about Moose's Turning Point match tomorrow. They say let's take a look at some of the x-division wrestlers.

Leon Slater vs Trent Seven vs Mustafa Ali

This is from June 2024. Leon suicide dives Ali and his guards as he enters. Trent throws Leon out. Trent hits a rainmaker on Ali for 2. Leon top rope crossbodies Ali. Trent backhands Leon. They trade chops. Leon leg lariats him. Leon and Trent go up top and fight

Ali then pushes both opponents off the top to the floor. Ali rolls in to a neckbreaker on Leon. Trent hits chops on Ali. Ali back elbows him and bangs his head off the bottom buckle. Trent hits a 2nd rope emerald flowsion and Leon breaks it up with a springboard splash.

They all trade chops. Trent punches Ali then back body drops Ali over the top. Ali takes a big bump for it. Ali chops Trent. Trent splits Leon's fingers and hits an emerald flowsion for 2. Ali pulls Trent out. Trent chops the post when Ali moves. Leon tope con hilos both over the post.

Leon hits a swanton 450 but Ali throws him out on the pin. Ali then pins Trent.

Thoughts:
It was a shorter one. Trent still found a way to get his 2nd rope emerald flowsion in on this. Leon had 2 nice dives and Ali had a nice bump over the top. It was fine for how much time it got.

Mike Bailey vs Jake Something

This is from October 2024. Jake misses a charge. Mike front kicks and dropkicks him. Mike corner facekicks him and hits chest kicks in the corner. Jake body blocks him. Jake lifts him up by the head/ears and throws him out. Jake curls Mike outside. Hammerstone encourages Jake.

Mike facekicks Jake on the apron. Mike legsweeps him then does a corkscrew asai moonsault on him outside. Hammer grabs Mike's foot and he gets tripped when trying to get in the ring. Jake rolls through a hurricanrana, gets wept and takes a running ssp. Mike hits a kick combo.

Mike rolls up Jake for 2. Mike PK's him then hits a standing moonsault double knee. Mike enzugiri's him and takes a hard shot to the back of the neck. Mike facekicks him. Jake steps on his foot and hits a big shot. Mike kicks Jake on the buckles then sitout powerbombs him for 2. Jake hits a wild top rope sitout powerbomb for 2.

Jake charges into Mike's knee. Jake spears him through the ropes and they go out. Hammer tries to hit Jake and misses. Mike canadian destroyers Jake. Mike is pushed off the top by Hammer then superkicks Jake. Jake forearms him and wins.

Thoughts:
I was surprised to see Jake win here. I wasn't a fan of this. It started out okay but they did way too much and brought it down. Mike should not be taking top rope sitout powerbombs nor should be kick out of them. I didn't like the canadian destroyer not putting Jake out either.

First Class (AJ Francis and KC Navarro) vs Rhino and Joe Hendry

Joe says he was told AJ complained to HR about Joe. He said Joe was too mean on the mic. He tells everyone not to chant, "AJ Sucks" and of course, the crowd does. He says not to chant for the gore either and the crowd does. He says AJ hates it when you chant, "we believe" most of all. Joe says they believe in him and Rhyno.

We go to break and return. Joe and KC start us off. Joe shoves him back. KC flips over Joe's back while he tries to back body drop him and does a cool flip. KC does the carlton dance and Joe shoulders him over. Joe suplexes KC.

Rhino and AJ get in. They shoulder battle and Rhino shoulders him over. AJ shoulders over Rhino then stands on him. Rhino is whipped into an AJ facekick. AJ stomps on Rhino. AJ running knees him in the corner and KC gets a 2 count.

AJ is lariated over the top. Rhino tries to tag in Joe but AJ pulls Joe down from the apron. KC rakes Rhino's eyes. Joe tags in and lariats KC over. He F-5's him then hits an AA on AJ. KC is caught off the buckles by Joe and takes a fallaway slam. AJ hits a big spear on Joe then Rhino hits a big spear on AJ. Joe hits a standing ovation on KC and wins.

Thoughts: It was a good tag and I liked it. AJ had a great spear here and Joe looked good throwing him on the AA and doing various power spots. I didn't expect much out of this but thought they did a good job here.

Casket Match - Moose vs PCO

This is from July 2024. PCO knocks Moose over then gets jumped by The System since there's no DQ's. Myers hits a big lariat on PCO. Eddie shining wizards him. Moose spears PCO. PCO is put in the casket. They try to close the lid but Joe Hendry comes down. The heels of course start focusing on him instead of winning.

Joe cleans house on The System then chokeslams Moose. Alisha Edwards gets in the ring. PCO puts his hand on her throat and Moose spears Alisha when PCO moves. PCO chokeslams Moose then PCO hits a top rope moonsault on Moose. Moose is put in the casket and PCO closes the lid to win.

Thoughts: This was one of the shortest casket matches I've ever seen. There was virtually no wrestling here with tons of interference.

Nic Nemeth vs Sami Callihan

This is from September 2024. Sami nails Nic as it starts and sitout powerbombs him for 2. Nic superkicks him. Nic goes out and we go to break. We return and they are outside. Nic hits punches on Sami. Nic headbutts him out there. Sami eye rakes him then backdrops him on the apron. Sami chops the post when Nic moves. Nic tries to corner splash him in the ring but misses. Sami bites Nic's fingers. Sami back elbows him.

Sami trap holds Nic. Nic jawbreakers Sami. They double clothesline each other down. Nic and Sami trade shots. Nic fameassers Sami for 2. Nic hits elbow drops on Sami. Sami cutters Nic for 2. Sami goes for a superkick but Nic beats him to it. Nic then hits a danger zone and wins.

Thoughts: I wasn't too interested in this one. Sami was not winning and it was a slower paced match. It did get more than enough time though.

Overall thoughts: It was a weird show as all the matches were old yet never seen so they had little to do with what is going on currently in the company. There were no new storyline developments on this minus one segment and the show didn't build up tomorrow's Turning Point PLE much. Doing this show the night before a PLE was a mistake. The wrestlers put in more effort than I expected in some of these matches though the casket match was a joke and Grace/Luna wasn't good. Nothing was must see here. Apparently, this didn't even air until either 9pm or midnight in the US which probably hurt the rating. I would not recommend it and would give it a 5 out of 10.
