New Japan Pro Wrestling 11/28/2024 World Tag League 2024 Day 8

Masatora Yasuda vs Daiki Nagai was supposed to open the show but Yasuda got injured and will miss the rest of the tour.

Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) & Shoma Kato vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, Alex Zayne & Katsuya Murashima

Taguchi won with an ankle lock on Kato. This wasn't much of note with everyone getting their segment in and heading out. Alex hit a nice corkscrew asai moonsault onto two people which I haven't seen him do in a while. This didn't get much time and was just filler.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Shingo Takagi & Yota Tsuji) vs. United Empire (Callum Newman, Jakob Austin Young & Jeff Cobb)

CN = Callum Newman

Cobb catches Yota's flying headscissors then Yota tries it again and hits it. Cobb takes a double shoulder then hits his own double shoulder. Cobb steps on Yota's gut then CN chinlocks Yota.

Jake hits shots to Yota's gut and euro flurries him. Jake 2nd rope dropkicks him for 2. Jake steps on Yota's gut. Yota forearms him then hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Shingo and Cobb go at it with shoulders. Shingo hiptosses him then shoulders over Jake. 

Shingo tries to hit a ddt on Cobb but gets slammed. Cobb then standing moonsaults him. Jake tries a running boot on Shingo but shingo blocks it and dragon screws him. Bushi comes in and knocks Cobb off the apron. Bushi dropkicks Jake in the knee. Bushi kneebreakers CN and CN step up enzugiri's him.

Bushi takes corner attacks and CN PK's him for 2. Bushi rolls up CN then CN superkicks him. CN running knees Bushi and wins.

Thoughts: This wasn't much. It didn't get much time and Bushi went down pretty easy. We didn't see much of anything here.

Shingo and Cobb push each other after. Newman has words for Yota on the ropes.

BULLET CLUB (Chase Owens & KENTA) vs. TMDK (Kosei Fujita & Zack Sabre Jr.)

Oiwa is with Zack and Kosei. Kenta hits Zack from behind to start. Kenta takes a euro and chop from his opponents then Chase takes a double back elbow. Chase's arms are stomped into the mat and he takes a double kick. Kenta pushes Oiwa onthe outside as Kosei stomps on Chase.

Chase sweeps Kosei on the apron. Kosei is sent into the rails. They get back in. Kenta back elbows Kosei then goes out to hit kicks on Zack. Kosei chops Chase in the ring then Chase dropkicks Oiwa through the ropes. Kosei hits a nice dropkick on Chase.

Zack facekicks Chase and Kenta when he gets in. Zack snapmares him, twists his neck and dropkicks him in the back of the head. Chase sentons Zack. Zack does an octopus on Chase and Chase pump kicks him. Zack hits a face kick and takes a pumping knee. Zack pele kicks the arm and lariats him over. 

Kenta is tagged in and goes after Oiwa outside. Kosei is sent into the rails outside. Kosei moonsaults Kenta off the apron. Kosei springboard dropkicks Kenta. Kenta grabs the ref. Kosei tries to hit Kenta but misses and nails the ref. Zack gets double teamed, Oiwa gets on the apron and is facekicked off of it.

Oiwa comes in the ring and beats up Chase then he gets double teamed. Oiwa double lariats the heels. The ref then calls a DQ on him.

Thoughts: This was so stupid. Oiwa got beaten up the whole match despite not being in it. Kenta grabbed the ref and he didn't care and Kosei chopped the ref an he didn't care. But he cared when Oiwa beat up the heels. This was a piece of garbage.

Shota Umino, Tiger Mask & Tomoaki Honma vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Gabe Kidd, Gedo & SANADA)

The faces are sent out. Gabe sends Shota into the rails. Tiger fights off a oduble team in the ring. He legsweeps Sanada then spin kicks him. Tiger chases Sanada in and out of the ring then Sanada kicks the rope in his crotch. Gabe bangs Shota's head off the seats then chokes him with a fan's towel.

Sanada chairs Honma in the gut as they fight outside. Shota hits forearms on Gabe outside then gets bitten. Sanada and Tiger get back in the ring. Gedo tags in Tiger. Gabe gets an eye rake in as well.

Tiger hits shots on Gabe and is bitten by him. Gabe then flips off the crowd as they boo. Tiger hits kicks on Gabe. Shota is tagged in and he running back elbows Gabe. Shota tornado ddt's Sanada.

Shota fisherman suplexes Sanada. Shota and Gabe trade forearms. Shota dropkicks him in the knee then Gabe suplexes him. Shota no sells it. Gabe lariats him then Shota exploders him.

Gedo and Honma get in. Gedo eye rakes him then Honma bulldogs him. Honma misses a falling headbutt then Ged osuperkicks him in the face for 2. Gedo eye rakes Honma.

Gedo is sent into a flying Honma shoulder. Honma 2nd rope headbutt drops Gedo and wins.

Thoughts: We don't see Honma hitting the 2nd rope headbutt drop much. It was an acceptable match here with the heels being heels and the faces making their comeback on them to win. It was also nice to see Honma get a win.

Shota and Gabe fight after. Shota sends Gabe into the seats and Sanada walks off on his own. 

World Tag League 2024 Block B Match - The Natural Classics (Stevie Filip & Tome Filip) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito)

HT = Hiromu Takahashi

Tome forearms HT over. They shoulder battle. HT stomps his foot. Tome is pulled out and sent into the rails. HT crossbodies Tome off the apron then HT running crossbodies Stevie outside. Naito cravates Tome then HT chops up Tome.

Stevie is tagged in. He stomps on HT then slams him. Stevie follows it up with an elbow drop. Stevie chops HT over. Tome slams HT into a legdrop. Stevie kicks HT in the back. HT takes a boot into a springboard kneeling swanton. 

Stevie hits chops on HT. Tome chinlocks HT. HT dropkicks Tome in the knee then dragon screws him while hooking the arm. Naito gets in. He back elbows and baseball slides Tome. Naito neckbreakers him. Tome spinebusters Naito.

Naito and Stevie trade forearms. Stevie final cuts Naito for 2. Tome tope con hilos HT outside. Tome hits an air raid crash on Naito and Stevie tope rope ssp's Naito for 2.

Steview takes a double team, taking a spinebuster, a lariat and a jacknife pin from Naito. HT is popped up and ddt's Tome. Naito uses HT to tornado ddt Stevie. Naito hits destino on Stevie and wins.

Thoughts: Action wise, it was one of the better matches on the card. It was fine. The Filip's are just missing some personality and character and it makes it hard to really care about them. 

Naito lays his feet on Stevie after.

World Tag League 2024 Block B Match - Oleg Boltin & Toru Yano vs. United Empire (Great-O-Khan & HENARE)

Hen and Oleg start us off. They trade forearms. Hen forearms him then Oleg shoulders him over. Yano comes in and takes a turnbuckle pad off. Yano avoids getting sent into it. Hen hits him in the back of the heead. Yano tries to pull Hen's hair but he has none. Hen then sentons him.

Hen hits shots to Yano's gut. Khan mongolian chops Yano and uppercuts him. Khan sits on Yano's neck on the buckles. Khan mongolian chops him and stands on his chest. Yano pull Khan down by the hair.

Oleg comes in and shoulders over Khan. Oleg karelin's lifts him then corner splashes him. Oleg slams him then splashes him for 2. Khan rolls Oleg from the spinebuster position. Oleg slams Khan down then fireman's carry takeovers him. Oleg then fireman's carry takedowns him.

Khan karelin's lifts Oleg. Hen comes in and hits a gut punch and a chest kick. Oleg release germans Hen on his head. Yano helps out Oleg and belly to belly suplexes Hen. Hen is then catapulted into an Oleg belly to belly. Hen spinnng back elbows Yano and knees the exposed buckle when Yano moves. Yano tries pin attempts on him for 2.

Hen lariats Yano over. Yano takes a superkick + pump kick combo from his opponents. Oleg hits a double dropkick on his opponents then Yano spears Hen from behind for 2. Yano misses a low blow from Hen then is headbutted. Yano takes an imperial drop and is pinned.

Thoughts: It was a decent tag here. Oleg had one of his better showings so far and they did a good job of incorporating the wrestlers various styles into this. 

World Tag League 2024 Block B Match - House Of Torture (EVIL & Ren Narita) vs. TMDK (Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste)

TMDK get nailed by the heels before it starts. Evil chokes Mikey with a hammer and Shane is sent into the post. Shane is sent into a fan and Mikey is choked with a chair. Evil is sent into the rails and the belly finally rings.

Evil is sent into the rails more times then Ren is sent into the seats. Mikey chairs Evil. Shane hits kicks on Ren in the ring and Ren eye rakes him. Shane is sent into the exposed buckle. Gedo chairs Shane in the gut outside.

Shane gets his legs split. Shane is sent into the exposed buckle again. Shane chops and forearms Ren. Ren rolling armbars him. Ren is sent into the exposed buckle. Mikey comes in and double lariats the heels. Mikey lariats the heels in the corner then hits another double lariat. Mikey ddt's Evil for 2. 

Evil takes a powerbomb + uranage combo for 2. Shane hits euros on Evil then Evil fisherman suplexes him. Ren flying facekicks Shane in the corner. Ren chokes Shane then flying knee presses him for 2. Shane is on Mikey's shoulders. He superplexes Ren and his own partner powerbombs him. Mikey sliding lariats Ren for 2.

Ren grabs hte ref and pushes Mikey into Shane then ref. Gedo comes in and interferes. Mikey takes corner attacks then a chop to the crotch off the 2nd rope. Ren top rope diving knee presses Mikey for 2. Evil low blows Shane. Mikey takes a double suplex.

Mikey lariats Evil over then spinebusters Ren. Ren hits Mikey with the push-up board and facebusters him to win.

Thoughts: It was the usual HoT BS with interference and weapons usage. It was the same thing we have seen a million times over and it was not that good. 

World Tag League 2024 Block B Match - Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jado vs. Just 4 Guys (Taichi & TAKA Michinoku)

Taka and Jado go at it. Jado clean breaks him. Taka slaps him and they shoulder battle. Taka eye pokes him, shin kicks him then is shouldered over. Taka takes a double bakc elbow then Tai takes a double shoulderblock. Jado and Tana do air guitar and get hit from behind.

Taka eye rakes Tana outside. Jado is sent into the post. Taka rakes Tana's face. Tai hits kicks on Tana for 2. Taka side headlocks Tana then headscissors him. Taka then kimura's him at the same time. Tana ropebreaks.

Tana tries to fight out of the corner but is double teamed. Tai abdominal stretches Tana and pulls on his gut. Taka hits knees to Tana's head. Tana hits forearms and gets slapped. Tana 2nd rope twisting crossbodies Taka.

Jado is tagged in. He shoulders Taka over then dragon screws Tai. Jado lariats Taka over. Taka eye pokes Jado and takes a bridging ddt for 2. Taka superkicks Jado over. Tai corner facekicks Jado. They lariat each other. Tai spin kicks him and kicks him in the head for 2.

Tai does a stretch plum on Jado and Tana breaks it up. Tana hits shots on both opponents and takes a double boot. Tai tries pins on Jado. Taka hits chest kicks on Jado. Tai hits chops and Jado hulks up. Jado lariats him over. Tana is tagged in. He flying forearms Tai. Tana slams him and 2nd rope swantons him. Tana forearms Tai then Tai lariats him. Tana hits twists and shouts on Taka. Tai backdrops Tana then Taka running knees Tana for 2.

Taka facelocks Tana. Tana dragon screws him. Tana cloverleafs Taka while Jado has Taka in a crossface. Taka step up knees Tana in the corner then superkicks him for 2. Taka michinoku drivers Tana for 2. Tai puts Jado in stretch plum while Taka does a headscissors + figure four on Tana. 

Tana rolls Taka up for 2. Tana michinoku drivrs Taka for 2. Tana slingblades Taka and Tai. Jado cutters Tai. Tana high fly flows Taka and wins.

Thoughts: It wasn't that far off from a legends style match. They tried to put a good match together and definitely followed the formula. It wasn't great or super memorable, but it was okay for what it was and I was okay with it.

Tai shakes hands with both opponents after. Jado and Tana talk on the mic to close the show and play air guitar together. House of Torture gets sick of it and attacks them. Evil talks trash on the mic and they pose on the faces to end the show.

Overall thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this one. Nothing was that great here. The main and Oleg's tag were the best matches on this one but they weren't must see. The Kosei Fujita tag was total garbage and the other HoT tag wasn't much better. I'd give this a 5 out of 10 as it was pretty average.
