WWE Monday Night Raw 4/5/2021

Drew comes out to talk to start the show. He talks about Mania only being 5 days a way. He said him and Bobby are going to rip each other to shreds. Drew talked about how his mom pushed him to keep on. He said he would beat Bobby at Mania, then Bobby came out.
Bobby says Drew's time is over and said he felt fear when Drew was in the hurt lock. He said he felt him shake and quiver and at Mania, there was nothing he could do. Drew offered to fight him now but MVP said that will happen at Mania, where Drew will lose. Drew said he would run him down and MVP said Drew might not even make it to Mania.
King Corbin then came out. Corbin said he started something last week and will finish it tonight. He said there is no Mania or WWE title for Drew as he will whoop him tonight.
The New Day talks with Riddle in the back. Riddle said what Omos did to them was wrong last week. Riddle started saying he never saw anyone get thrown as high as they did and they made jokes about being high. The New Day then did their swiveling and he did it too. Riddle called Sheamus "pretty diesel and quite stinky" and said Ali is a little more sticky. Kofi then said he wanted milk and cookies. This was horrible. Riddle's becoming so annoying that even I want to deck him.
Xavier Woods with Kofi Kingston vs AJ Styles with Omos
AJ gets the early advantage with a big hiptoss. AJ rolls him into a calf crusher. Kofi gets on the mic and throws it Omos. Kofi gets in the ring and makes a distraction then Woods rolls up AJ for the quick win. This was a total waste of time.
Bad Bunny and Priest arrive in what we are told is a $3 million dollar Bugatti. Bunny isn't rich enough to afford that.
Braun Strowman comes out and talks with the cage lowered. Braun said he has always been called stupid. He says Shane doesn't know what he has gotten himself into and said Shane is locked in the cage with him at Mania. Braun said he would beat Shane for everyone who has ever been called stupid. He said he would put Shane in a bodybag at Mania.
Shane then came out. He said he let him choose the match at Mania to test Braun's intelligent. Shane said Braun's pick wasn't stupid. Shane said you would think this match would favor Braun, but he is not a normal man and will outwit him. He then said Braun will look in the mirror after Mania and say, "Man, I am stupid".
Handicap Match - Elias and Jaxson Ryker vs Braun Strowman
There are no tags here. Braun clears out Ryker early, then Ryker gets back in and Elias knees Braun. Braun takes a double backdrop and Elias hits a diving headbutt on him off the top. Elias then top rope elbows Braun. They double pin him but get thrown off on the pin attempt. Shane comes down to ringside.
Strowman splashes both in the corner then slams both. He then pins both in the rare double burial. Elias is so much better than this.
Miz and Morrison get interviewed in the back. They are carrying around paint cans. They said they have a masterpiece to make and go up to Bad Bunny's Bugatti. they then paint "Hey Hey Hop Hop" onto Bunny's car, amongst other things.
We go to break and return to Bunny seeing his car. Miz and Morrison then jump him and throw him into another car. Pearce and others then shoe away Miz. Well, Bunny doesn't have to worry about the car. Miz and Morrison did this on live TV like idiots and can be sued easy for damages.
We see an interview with Rhea Ripley from earlier in the day. Man does she look awful. Rhea says she knows what she is doing and said they need to get along tonight or risk getting ripped apart.
Rhea Ripley and Asuka vs Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler with Reginald
Asuka and Shayna puch each other and Asuka knocks her down. Asuka wants to tag but Rhea isn't interested until after she gets nailed and loses control. Shayna hammerlocks her but gets thrown on a slam.
Rhea fires on Nia and Asuka gets in and is bodyblocked. Nia misses a splash in the corner and gets a codebreaker and both tag out. Nia gets knocked off the apron and Reg evades a shot by Rhea. Rhea gets her back thrown into the apron as we go to break. Back from break and Shayna works Rhea's leg. Rhea continues to get her leg worked over.
Asuka eventually gets in for the hot tag and hip attacks both opponents, then hits a nice sliding knee. Asuka goes up top but Rhea knocks her off and slams her face/body first onto the floor. Shayna then knees Asuka in the face.
It makes sense that Rhea would let her get beat up and even beat her up herself, but it doesn't make sense that she would wait until the match was mostly over to do it. Why not just nail her from the start if you were going to do that anyway?
Cedric goes up to MVP in the back. Shelton joins him and they put him against a box. Ceric calls MVP a crippled passed up has been. Cedric says he might not beat Bobby tonight, but he will give him a scar to remember him by. He said he was also cheering on Drew to beat Bobby. Shelton tells him to keep his crippled @ss out of the way.
MVP is then interviewed. He said he isn't concerned in Bobby, but he is disappointed by Cedric and Shelton. He takes credit for their tag title win and their fancy suits. Lashley then comes in and sees what happens and says he was "break his @ss in half".
Nia, Shayna and Reg are interviewed in the back. They said they are ready for Mania then Lana and Naomi come in and Mandy and Dana come in. Natalya and Tamina and The Riot Squad then comes in. Billie then comes in and says she doesn't have a prtner, but Carmella is reviewing her resume. They say the winner between these teams in a tag team turmoil match on Saturday faces them on Sunday for the tag titles.
Bobby Lashley vs Cedric Alexander with Shelton Benjamin
Shelton immediately jumps Bobby with Cedric. MVP is on commentary. Bobby of course clears off Shelton and the match starts as normal.
Bobby slams Cedric and corner spears him. Bobby throws Cedric. Cedric is then thrown outside. Bobby suplexes Cedric in the ring and throws him out again. Cedric then gets slammed into the post outside.
We go to break and return. Cedric hits a nice dropkick but takes a flatliner. Bobby is distracted by Shelton and goes into the post, then Cedric dives on Bobby on the outside twice. The second dive sends Bobby into the barricade hard. Cedric handsprings off the ropes into an enzugiri then missile dropkicks him from the top.
Cedric is popped up and takes a weird bump. MVP yells at Shelton from the booth then Bobby pop up powerbombs Cedric. Bobby then wins it with the full nelson. He doesn't get let go and Shelton jumps him again but takes a flatliner. Bobby then puts Shelton in the full nelson and throws him away.
Cedric and Shelton looked like goofs here by getting handled 2v1.
Damian Priest talks to Bad Bunny in the back then they came out. Priest says Miz and Morrison crossed the line. He said we should make the Bunny/Miz match a tag match with Miz and Morrison vs Priest and Bad Bunny. Bunny said he has a bunch of good memories watching WWE. He said he used to like The Miz but Miz has been disrespecting him since the first day. He went off in spanish and said Miz crossed the line. He said he will show him how to respect him at Mania. He said he will shut his mouth and kick his @ss.
Miz and Morrison then appeared on the tron. They said they accept the challenge and left in a limo. I don't get why this wasn't a tag match from the start.
Mustafa Ali and Sheamus talked in the back. Ali didn't want advice on Riddle. Sheamus said they don't have much in common except their dislike for Riddle. Riddle then rode in between them on a scooter.
Riddle vs Mustafa Ali
Sheamus is on commentary. They went to the mat early then Riddle did a beautiful gutwrench. Ali dropkicked Riddle and gets back body dropped over the top. Riddle grabs Sheamus' hat and Ali russian legsweeps him for it. Sheamus says "that's what you get" and it's hard not to agree.
We go to break and return with Ali choking Riddle with his boot. Ali is on Riddle's back and Riddle rams him into the buckles and then just falls backwards and knocks him off. Riddle gets some kicks and an exploder, then a senton. Ali pus him in the Koji clutch and Riddle powers out into a fisherman's buster for 2. Ali escapes a triangle.
Ali did a gutbuster from the suplex position and slaps him. Ali goes for a swinging DDT off the ropes but is caught with a broderek and pinned. Sheamus stands on the announcers table and they argue. This wasn't a bad match at all.
Drew McIntyre is interviewed in the back. He said Corbin has a big head yet doesn't make smart decisions as he is not too smart. Drew says Corbin is a dangerous guy but he will take him out then get his title back against Lashley.
Drew McIntyre vs King Corbin
Lashley is watching in the back and interviewed. He is asked if he would rather face Corbin or Drew. He promised to put Drew to sleep when he puts him in the hurt lock.
Drew shoulders out Corbin early. They trade punches and Corbin gains control. Drew is thrown into the buckles hard. Drew comes back and overhead belly to belly suplexes Corbin then neckbreakers him. They go outside and Corbin goes into the post and stairs.
We go to break and return and Drew hits a weird looking northern lights suplex. Corbin hits Drew on the apron and Drew gets run into the post off the apron. Drew gets his head banged off the table and Corbin takes control for a while. Corbin hits a bunch of elbows then uranage's him for 2. Corbin sideslams him for 2.
Drew comes back with a headbutt and a future shock ddt. Corbin superplexes him from the top and they trade punches after. Corbin hit a deep six for 2. MVP tells him to take him out, not try to beat him and gives him his cane. Drew then hits a claymore kick and wins it. Drew and Lashley stare down to end the show.
The main went too long. They really tried to push that Corbin was going to win this here but we all knew that wouldn't happen.
Overall thoughts: Raw's been worse lately but this wasn't good or interesting. The show just dragged.
