Ring of Honor TV Episode #499 4/10/2021

Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show as usual.

Delirious does a promo. He talks in nonsense but it is translated. Delirious said he wrestled Rocky in his first ROH match in 2004. He said Rocky gave him a scar and he put paint on it to show us it. He said the scars might make him feel animosity towards him and may make him want to hurt him. As usual, Delirious talked in gibberish but they translated it.

Rocky Romero then did a promo. He said they have unfinished business and said he was an @ss in his younger days. He said he maybe needs to bring his buzzsaw kick back out. He said Delirious doesn't wrestle much while he wrestles weekly on NJPW Strong. Rocky then mock's Delirious' babble, which was cringe.

Pure Rules Match - Delirious vs Rocky Romero

They mat wrestle to start and Delirious burns a rope break on a single leg crab attempt. Rocky armdragged him and dropkicked him out. Delirious gets frustrated  and they trade chops and forearms. Delirious runs various ropes then jumping clotheslines him. Rocky eventually knocks him down with a clothesline as we go to break. We return from break with Rocky still in control.

Delirious catches a kick and neckbreakers Rocky. Rocky uses a rope break and thye trade strikes. Rocky rolling kimura's him but Delirious uses another rope break. Delirious is hung over the middle rope then dropkicked from the 2nd rope by Rocky. Delirious fisherman busters him. Delirious throws him off a fireman's carry and does a bad looking spinning clothesline or forearm. Rocky comes back with a jumping knee. The time is almost up here and Delirious closed fist punches Rocky. Rocky comes back though with a falcon arrow into an armbar and delirious taps as soon as it is put on instead of waiting 9 seconds.

This wasn't that interesting. We haven't seen either guy for a while and there wasn't any real story here despite us being told that Delirious would come for revenge for Romero giving him a scar.

After the match, Rocky starts calling out various people on the roster.

We see clips from the PPV with Brody King coming out after Rush's match. He said Rush has been coming after him for a while now and he has numbers of his own now. Tony Deppen, Homicide and Chris Dickinson join him.

The Briscoe Brothers do dueling promos against each other. They talked about they kept getting sidetracked. They said they wasted some title shots and they have unfinished business to settle before they continue on. Mark said Jay broke his nose and took out some of hs teeth. He said they have come a long way and are ready to do this. Jay said "let's whoop each others @ss" and said may the best man win. This was good.

Bandido and Rey Horus were interviewed by Quinn McKay. Rey is pulled from tonight's match due to injury and Flamita comes in and says we are all brothers and nothing will happen. He said we are all a team. Quinn says she is confused and Flamita laughs.

Lethan and Gresham do a promo. Jay said the Mexisquad is getting a pissed off Foundation and they need to get back on track.

Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham vs Mexisquad (Bandido and Flamita)

Flamita and Jay evade each others moves early and Flamita hits a running hurricanrana. Gresham and Flamit then have a fast paced segment that ends in Gresham armdragging Flamita. Gresham does Muta's puroresu love taunt

We go to break and return. Bandido does a high reverse suplex then shining wizards Gresham. Bandido then does the Muta taunt back to Gresham. Bandido kips out of a Lethal pump kick then gorilla press slams him.

Flamita double stomps Jay's arm from the top. Bandido wants to do a taunt while Jay is down, but Flamita standing moonsaults Jay instead. They argue but then hug. Jay throws Flamita into Bandido, who goes outside. Flamita then jumps up but is caught with a Gresham german suplex.

Greshman double hammerlocks both of Flamita's arms and gets a pin attempt for 2. Flamita gets his arm worked on and he hits the ropes as we go to break. Back from break and Lethal has both arms of Flamita tied up again.

Bandido ends up hitting Flamita with an enzugiri on accident. Bandido tries to apologize but Flamita shurgs him off. Flamita hits a nice forearm on Gresham then standing spanish fly's him. Bandido and Lethal trade forearms and Bandido hits a crucifix bomb on Lethal.

Lethal goes for the Lethal Injectio but is dropkicked. Bandido tries to do a satelittle move on Flamita for momentum but Flamita drops him. They argue more and almost nail eac hother. Flamita then nails Bandido on purpose and they fight. Lethal tope's Flamita then Bandido is hit with a double powerbomb for 2. Bandido is then put in the figure four and Flamita teases a tag but then leaves him and Bandido taps at 13:45. Flamita then walks out on his own and says no more. The Foundation helps Bandido up after and shakes his hand.

The match wasn't bad and set out what it accomplished to do, but just watching the tv alone, you would have no idea that Mexisquad is feuding. They haven't been on TV in months and it hasn't even really been referenced.

Overall thoughts: I didn't really care for the Romero/Delirious match, but the rest was fine.
