AEW Dark Episode #75 2/16/2021

Jon Cruz vs. Jon Moxley

Cruz jumps Mox at the bell then headscissors him. He jumps on him in the corner but is caught and german suplexed. Mox picks him up for a suplex and just releases him to the mat, then he crossfaces him and rolls him up.

Mox rakes his nails on Cruz's back and then hits a rolling elbow. Cruz is really small and gets picked up in a nasty guillotine clutch and is submitted in a quick squash.

Bear Country vs. Chaos Project

Serp runs into Boulder early and goes down, then he tries to crossbody him but falls. Boulder gorilla press slams him. Bronson gets 2v1'd and thrown out, then is put into the rails. Serp splashes Bronson which likely didn't bug him, then Luther bangs Serp's head off of Bronson's gut.

Luther throws Serp into Bronson who just knocks him down then Boulder knocks down both CP members. Luther pops up Serp, puts him on his shoulders and DDT's Luther to take them both down. Luther stops a BC double team and Serp does a swanton bomb onto Bronson. Bronson drivers Serp while doing a butt drop onto Luther. Boulder puts Bronson on his shoulders and drops him down for the Bear Country win. As usual, Bear Country looks pretty good here and this wasn't bad.

Butcher & The Blade vs. Jake St. Patrick & Sage Scott

B&B jump their opponents early and throw them out, beating them while they wear jackets. Butcher hits a backdrop into a slam then Butcher throws his Jake into Blade's kick. Sage slaps Blade and runs for it right into a Butcher lariat. Blade and Butcher do a suplex + powerbomb combo and win it. B&B looked pretty good here as they were so much bigger than their opponents.

Renee Michelle vs. Shanna

 

This is Renee's debut. She looks like a star and will likely be on the main roster soon unless she is the absolute pits. They both work the arm early. Shanna hits some armdrags and running hurricanrana's her. Renee does a satellite headscissors into a seated armbar while Shanna stands, then is dropped down.

Shanna does Tenryu's guh punch combo then does a big running superman forearm to her. Shanna then does a high angle pedigree for 2. Shanna does a jumping stunner and dropkicks her while she is against the bottom rope. Shanna then hits a big release tiger suplex for the win. This wasn't bad at all.

Eric James & VSK vs. Alex Reynolds & John Silver

James takes a big armdrag and is double hiptossed, caught then tossed the other way. Silver runs the ropes fast and nails him with a big back elbow. VSK hits a nice right hand on Silver and James pele kicks him. Reynolds gets in and takes control back and does his usual nice forearm, then he does a cravate suplex for 2 on VSK. The D-O does a double forward flipping DDT called the Dark Destroyer to win.

Baron Black and John Skyler vs Jurassic Express with Marko Stunt

Taz tries to sing the JB theme. JB starts off with a John Woo dropkick then armdrags Skyler. Skyler takes a Luchasaurus boot then Lucha high spin kicks Black. Skyler takes a kick/brainbuster combo then Black takes a backdrop flip/powerbomb combo for the very quick win. Marko of course has to be a little jerk like usual and pushes the opponents out of the ring with his feet.

Vertvixen vs Tay Conti with Anna Jay

Tay rolling armbars Vert then does multiple shoulder throws. Then she pump kicks her right to the face. Vert hits some high kicks then Tay walks up her in the corner to knee her in the face. Tay then hits a great brogue knee and does a choke with the knee behind the neck to win easy.

Aaron Solow vs Eddie Kingston

Solow gets some shots in and takes a shoulderblock. Eddie rubs his knuckle into Solow's head and slams him. Eddie double underhook suplexes him for 2. Solow goes around a hiptoss and armdrags him, then hits a trouble in paradise kick. Solow double stomps him from the top for 2. Eddie recovers and knees him then hits a uraken to win. Solow's not really good and this wasn't anything special.

KC Navarro vs Ricky Starks with Hook

KC slingshots in and gets speared immediately for the Ricky Starks win. Starks goes over to the announcers table and does his own commentary on the finish.

Brandon Cutler vs Misterioso

Misterioso handsprings into the ropes then hurricanrana's Cutler. Then he does a flip dive to the outside on him. Misterioso puts him in, kneels on the top rope then back sentons him. Cutler springboard forearms Mist then slingshot sentons him and does a nice jumping legdrop. Mist rolls into a dropkick on Cutler. He goes up top and moonsaults but Culter gets his feet up. Cutler does an enzugiri over the top rope.

Mist goes over the top then Cutler topes him. Cutler does a springboard crossbody then crossbodies him off the top. Cutler then does a twisting crossbody off the top for 2. The match really slows down for a second and Mist backflips over Cutler then hits some kicks to the body. Mist moonsaults off the 2nd rope, Cutler moves, then he moonsaults him again. Cutler does a springboard elbow and finally wins it. I could go without seeing a springboard again for a while. Both guys seemed to get really tired out in the 2nd half.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs Ryzin

Hobbs splashes Ryzin to start then he does a powerslam into a side slam to win in a very quick squash.

Nick Comoroto with QT Marshall and Dustin Rhodes vs Fuego del Sol

Sol rolls around early and evades Nick. Nick does a death valley driver neckbreaker over the knee. Nick hits corner spears and throws Sol twice. Nick does a one hand gorilla press but Sol gets out. Nick charges into the corner and hits the buckles sternum first. Sol goes for a tornado DDT but is popped up and slammed in a cool finish.

Overall thoughts: This was thankfully only 1 hour and 6 minutes. Much better than 2 hours for an all squash match show.
