Heritage Cup Rules - Sha Samuels vs A-Kid

Basically, they have 6 rounds of 3 minutes and the first person to two falls or a knockout wins. They go to the mat early with Kid winning that battle. Sha slams Kid and rams him into the buckles. Sha puts the cobra clutch on while sitting on his back and Kid taps to put Sha up 1-0.

We start round 2 and Kid misses a dropkick. Sha pounds on him and slams him. Kid gets slammed on his arm, which Sha has been working. Sha goes outside and Kid hits a cool tope onto the back of his head as the 2nd round ends.

In Round 3, Kid gets some pin attempts. Sha gets a little cocky and gets dragon screw leg whipped then takes a jumping side kick for the A-Kid fall.

We are tied 1-1 going into the 4th Round. Kid hits a nice northern lights suplex for 2 then lariats Kid, which he flips for. Kid hits an enzugiri then puts on an armbar. Kid dives on Sha from the top and gets a falcon arrow for 2. Kid gets put in the cobra clutch with Sha sitting on him and the bell goes off due to the round ending, while Sha thinks he has won. Sha throws a bottle of water.

Round 5 begins with Sha running into a flying armbar. Sha almost gets the cobra clutch on but instead takes a pele kick. Kid flies at him right into a cool spinebuster but it is only for 2. Kid does a rolling armbar into a leg assisted rings of saturn and wins it in a fun match. Sha stuck to trying to get the butcher's hook/cobra clutch on all match and Kid mostly worked from behind until he won.

They did a package for Coffey vs Brown tonight. Joe said it was just a matter of time until their paths crossed. Regal said they both have pride about representing Britain and Drew McIntyre calls it the pinnacle of UK wrestling. Regal says it will be a hell of a match and Joe says this is his kingdom in a nice little package.

Walter does a video package. He said he is restoring the order of wrestling and various people put him over.

Josh Morrell vs Ben Carter

Ben does an inset saying he is having the time of his life in WWE so far but he is here to be the top star in this industry. Ben gets grounded and does a hand trick to get out of the chinlock. Josh kips up and they both headflip out of wristlocks. Josh then backflips out of a wristlock.

Ben gets hurricanrana'd but recovers and reverse STO's Josh into the bottom buckle. Ben gets put in a surfboard then rolls through it and puts Josh in one. Josh does his usual twisting flip out of the corner then hiptosses Ben for 2. Josh almost steals it on a pin attempt then is twisting neckbreakered. Ben frogsplashes him and wins it. These two worked well together and someday they are going to put on a classic together.

Joe Coffey is warming up in the back.

 

They did a press conference for the Meiko Satomura/Kay Lee Ray title match. Meiko says Ray hasn't fought her before and said she will teach her what it is like to be a real champion. Meiko says she is excited to be here and feels like she has a mission here. Ray says she has to beat Meiko to be the best. Ray speaks in Japanese and says she is the champion. She says she is the forever champion and can beat her.

They do a package on the Xia Brookside/Nina Samuels feud. 

A cameraman meets up with Tyler Bate. He says he goes outside of the PC to catch a break and to tune out. He said he is ready for new challenges.

Aleah James vs Dani Luna

Dani shoulders her down early and James tries to Thesz Press her but is slammed down. Luna suplexes her and then throws her with an unusual suplex. James does a nice springboard off the 2nd rope into a dropkick. She tries to elbow Luna and takes a hard one back. James springboards on her and gets caught and sit down powerbombed in a quick squash.

Jinny and Joseph Connors do a promo. They tell Piper to stop blaming people for her problems and Joseph said Jinny will tear her apart. Jinny says she will put her back in her place.

Rampage Brown is warming up in the back.

Gallus and Pretty Deadly do very quick promos one after the other and PD says PDOT - Pretty Deadly on Top.

Joe Coffey vs Rampage Brown

Joe tries a leapfrog but Brown runs into him and then slams him down in a cool spot. Brown hits some crossfaces. Joe hits him with some punches and stretches him while grabbing the ear. Joe drops a big elbow for 2. Joe gets hit with a big lariat and they trade shots. Joe gets backdropped and charges into Brown in the corner but runs into a double boot. Brown then does a flying shoulder block and suplexes him.

Joe hits an overhead belly to belly and then back body drops Brown. Joe splashes him in the corner then german suplexes him. Joe then throws himself at Brown's body and Brown hits the buckles and rolls out. Joe charges at Brown and goes hard into the steps. Joe holds his wrist in pain and does a double jump back in with a twisting splash. Brown kicks the hand then does a doctor bomb and wins it. They shake hands after.

The match was okay but certainly not what you would expect. It could have been a lot better but was an acceptable quick heavyweight battle.

Overall thoughts: Not an amazing episode but another solid hour of NXT UK with 3 of the 4 matches being decent.
