Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/02/impact-wrestling-2162021.html
Tables Match - Deaner vs Jake Something
Jake Something may have the dumbest name in wrestling. Deaner jumps on him and bites his nose. Jake hits a clothesline to the back of the head and Deaner does a nice sell for it. Jake grabs a table on the outside and has it dropkicked into his face. Deaner has the table half-way in but Jake pushes down on his end and the other end goes in Deaner's face. A table it set up bridged across the ropes in the corner and Deaner drop toe holds his face into it. That was a really cool spot that I hadn't seen before.
Deaner then catapults him into the bottom of the table. Striker makes a good point and says "it's almost good when they don't break" in reference to the table. The two fight on the apron in front of the table. Deaner cannonballs him from the apron but Jake catches him and forearms him. Deaner slides the table into Jake's face.
Deaner puts the table leg on Jake's throat and slams it into the ground while the table is upside down. Deaner goes up top, Jake joins him and Deaner ends up bringing down Jake by hair. Jake hits a nice sitout powerbomb. Jake lifts up Deaner in a powerslam on top the steps and when Deaner gets out, Jake lands akwardly on the steps.
The two fight up on the ramp. Jake tries to hit a powerbomb but is low-blowed. Jake crawls down the ramp then Deaner runs down it and gets slammed into a table behind Jake. Pretty good match here with the two being creative with the table spots and making a fun match out of it.
Jake celebrates in the ring then Moose spears him through a table. Moose grabs a chair and gets on the mic and says there won't be a show until he gets a title shot. Scott D'Amore comes out and tells him to knock it off and leave. Scott says Moose isn't cleared to wrestle and he isn't here anyway. Jake comes back out and Moose threatens him.
Scott agrees to give him a title match. He made Moose's TNA Title that he carries around an official title and signs him to a match against Jake later on.
Winning Team Fights in an X-Division #1 Contenders Match - Willie Mack, Trey Miguel and Josh Alexander vs Ace Austin, Chris Bey and Black Taurus
Trey slaps Ace early. Everyone throws Ace into the buckles. Taurus and Willie do flips and rolls to evade each other. Josh foward rolls Taurus with him on his back. Taurus runs up the buckles and corkscrew dives Josh. We go to break and come back with Josh getting worked over. Bey tries to hurricanrana Josh but he gets caught and powerbombed on Josh's knee.
Trey backflips into a headscissors, a double stomp then a rocking horse on Ace. Ace's head is placed in the top rope and he is superkicked. Bey is on the apron sitting and Josh crossbodies him and both go out. Willie does a pop-up forearm to Ace.
Ace does a canadian destroyer DDT onto Willie who takes a n awful looking bump. Taurus spinning racks Trey then does a nasty backbreaker to him. Taurus then taks a hard release german from Josh. Bey does a slingshot outside to in DDT on Josh then Willie hits a release exploder on Bey. Bey does a springboard cutter to Mack and wins it. His team will now compete for a #1 Contenders Match for the X-Division title next week. There wasn't much story here and it certainly wasn't a smart match but it had non-stop action.
Trey walks past Sami Callihan in the back. Sami said he doesn't have what it takes. Sami accuses him of thinking of quitting and flaking out. He calls him the weak link on The Rascalz and Trey finlly nails him as people come to break it up.
The Decay of Rosemary, Taurus and Crazzy Steve did a promo. They said they preach patience and now it is time to rejoice. They said Black Taurus will bring treasures when he wins the X-Division title. They talked a lot of nonsense but it was a good promo.
Tony Schiavone, Tony Khan and some of the AEW roster were on the Jaguars field. Tony said he likes doing charity work for Impact with paid ads and said the people with him had more star power than all of Impact's roster. They hyped up tomorrow's Dynamite card.
Havok and Nevaeh talked in the back. Havok said they don't need to break up even though they have lost but Neveah said she needs time. Kaleb with a K and Tenille Dashwood then drop in again. Tenille tried to talk her into teaming with them but Havok said she wasn't interested and walked off.
XXXL(Larry D and Acey Romero) vs The Good Brothers
Doc fallaway slams D. Doc tries to double clothesline his opponents but Acey doesn't go down. D puts Karl in a chinlock. Doc gets tagged in and beats up on D. Doc high kicks D and the Good Brothers hit the magic killer for the win. This match wasn't very interesting with almost no highlights.
James Storm and Chris Sabin are still hanging out at Johnny Swinger's poker room and doing well apparently. Shera and Roju come in and Roju loses immediately. Roju is wearing a sling on his head after the bottle shot from last week. Sabin said there will be no fighting because they don't want to get kicked out. Swinger then interrupts and said he wants to see them fight and would take bets on it.
FinJuice are in the back and The Good Brothers come in. The GB's said they are the best team in the world and FinnJuice put them over. Then they accuse them of being hungover.
Eddie Edwards vs Brian Myers
Brian said he can't wrestle tonight and his attorney did a video. He said Impact has an unsafe working environment and unsafe conditions here and these lead to Brian losing his eye sight in one eye. He said he has a clause in his contract though where a replacement for him can be made.
Eddie Edwards vs Hernandez
Eddie topes Hernandez during his entrance. Eddie is on the apron and Hernandez sweeps his leg, making him do a back bump on the apron's edge. Brian then takes a couple of cheapshots. Eddie gets pounced and superplexes Hernandez up top. Eddie does a shining wizard from the top and wins. This was pretty quick and I'm not really sure why Hernandez is being used a joke these days.
Matt Cardona and Myers run into each other in the back. Scott D'Amore then comes in. Scott said he talked to Myers' lawyer. He said the lawyer didn't read the contract and that Myers was cleared when he said he wasn't. Scott then said next week Myers would fight Edwards in an "Eye for an Eye" match. He then said Cardona would be the ref.
Kimber Lee and Susan with Deonna P. vs Jordynne Grace and Jazz
Susan and Jazz have a boring section to start. Deonna chokes Jazz over the bottom rope and ODB comes down to attack her. The ref kicks out ODB and Deonna. We go to break and come back. Jazz is put in a tazzmission and Jazz hits a bad spinning high kick. Jazz gets put in a chinlock. I don't even know what Jazz did to get out a corner charge but it looked awful. Grace and Susan get in and Grace beats up on Susan. Susan gets double gordbustered. Susan gets german suplexed and bites Grace's ankle before putting her in an ankle lock. Grace hits a last falconry on Susan and thankfully ends this. This was not good. It looked really low rent. Jazz wasn't good in her primse and is worse now and this Susan thing is an embarassment.
Grace and Jazz talk in the back then they find ODB laid out. They accuse Deonna P. of being involved.
TNA World Heavyweight Title - Moose vs Jake Something
Jake jumps Moose during his entrance and we immediately go to break. We come back and Moose is thrown into the rails. Moose does a nice single leg dropkick on Jake. Jake is on the apron and Moose sweeps him down. Jake is thrown chest first into the buckles. Jake lariats Moose and Moose tries to flip for it but doesn't do it well. Moose gets michinoku drivered for 2.
Jake gets sat on the top rope and is dropkicked. Moose suplexes him off the top. He charges into Jake and gets pop up powerbombed. Jake and Moose trade shots and Jake gets pump kicked. Jake then takes two hard uranages and a spinning clothesline. Moose then spears him and wins it. This was fine and maybe even a little bit good. Nothing wrong with this at all and they made Jake look good.
Jake takes a chair shot after and Rich Swann comes out to pound on Moose. Moose throws Rich and security breaks it up. Scott D'Amore comes out and says these two keep going at it and it never goes anywhere. He said they will finally fight at Sacrifice for the Impact title.
Overall thoughts: This gets a thumbs up from me. They had a couple of good matches, though the women's match was lousy.
