CMLL 4/10/2026 Viernes Escpectacular

Note - The big news of the week is that Catalina has left CMLL, likely for WWE/AAA. With WWE buying AAA, it was a given that CMLL wrestlers were going to get signed and this is one of the first defections. Catalina had been with WWE before though, so she might do a little better than others. AAA definitely needs more girls and she should be in a good spot when she debuts there.

Guerrero Maya Jr., Okumura & Raider vs. Los Viajeros Del Espacio (Futuro, Max Star & Valiente Jr.)

Maya and Fut go at it. They some some basic holds. Fut spinning armdrags him then does a regular armdrag. Maya shoulders him over. Fut trips him then Maya tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him. Oku and Val get in. Val cartwheels over him. Val hits kicks and step up enzugiri's him. Val slips on a rope walk but recovers and diving headscissors him. Raid comes in and springboard elbow drops Val. 

Fut cartwheels over Raid. Raid pumping knees him. Raid springboard tornillo's him. Raid sperkicks Max. Max pulls Raid down. Max top rope diving headscissors him. Fut goes up and over Oku. Fut spinning headscissors Oku.

Val top rope tornillo's Maya. Val walks up the ropes and springboard diving ardmdrags him. Maya then topes Val outside. Fut spinning satellite headscissors Raid. Fut is sent out and Oku cannonballs him off the apron. Max is on the 2nd rope and Raid 2nd rope springboard headscissors him.

Raid asai moonsaults Max outside. Val is double teamed in the ring. Raid hits mounted corner punches on Val then corner splashes him. Oku running cutters Val. Fut comes in and is ganged up on. Fut is running powerbombed over the top into the ring by Raid. Max gets triple teamed and is held in the air for a codebreaker. Val then gets ganged up on. Raid clubs Val's chest on the ropes. Raid reverse suplexes him from the 2nd rope. 

Val is triple teamed in the corner. Val walks up the ropes and diving headscissors Raid outside to the floor. Max and Fut then hit stereo springboard moves and stereo tope con hilos outside. 

Raid electric chair backbreakers Val and Fut breaks the pin up with a top rope double stomp. Maya spears Fut. Max superkicks Maya. Val jumps off Oku's back to get up top and top rope spanish fly Raid. Maya takes a 2nd rope springboard headscissors. The faces get stereo 2 counts on the heels. Fut and Max hit 2nd rope moonsaults outside. Val 2nd rope hurricanrana's Raid and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a longer opener. The faces did a lot of flying as expected. It didn't quite get the flow it should have had. The faces were a bit tough to tell apart there as they all wore similar colors and they all have longer pants on. I thought it was average to maybe okay. The camera's were having a hard time keeping up with all the action.

Keyra & Zeuxis vs. Garra Negra & Tessa Blanchard

1st Fall - Garra and Z lock up. Z trips her and surfboards her. Garra ties up Z's legs in like a prison lock and Z messes with her hair to break it. Z stomps Garra's hands then flying headscissors her. Z and Garra trade corner attacks. 

Tess comes in. Tess flying headscissors Z then slaps her. Tess boots her over the 2nd rope and slingshot splashes her. Key breaks it up with a kick on Tess. Key armdrags Tess then rolls her into a pin attempt. Key boots Tess in the face in the corner. Garra then pulls Key down by the hair. Key is double stomped on. 

Key dropkicks Garra. Garra flying headscissors her and Key rols her up for 2. Key camel clutches her and lets go for some reason. Key pounds on Garra in the corner. Z pump kicks Garra and Garra takes a double dropkick. Tess takes a double high kick then Z meteora's Tess and pins her. Zeuxis' team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - Key bites Tess' hand then pulls on her neck. Tess is choked over the 2nd rope. Garra is held for chops then choked over the 2nd rope. Garra takes a double boot. Tess fights off corner attacks and then gets double stomped on in the corner. 

Garra top rope double crossbodies her opponents. Z is sent into Key. Tess cutters Z and Key. Garra topes both opponents outside. Tess top rope plancha's both opponents outside. Z powerslams Tess on the apron and Garra backcrackers Z. Key rolls up Garra while holding the ropes and pins her. Zeuxi's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: Keyra's team mostly dominated here en route to victory. It wasn't that much to speak of but nobody botched anything. It was average.

Garra complains on the mic after about Keyra cheating to win. She challenges her to a singles match. Keyra and Zeuxis get back in and Garra runs away. That made her look weak.

There's an MLW vs CMLL event on May 1st.

Lightning Match - Valiente vs. Star Jr.

Val chops Star. Star  takes him down and chops him. Val rolls him up. Val is tripped and Star splashes his arm. Val chops him. Star chops and boots him. Star dropkicks Val. Val cornr splashes Star and Star corner lariats him. Star chops Val from the apron. Val triangle springboards and armdrags Star off the apron to the floor.

Val is sent into the rails and lariated. Star cannonballs Val off the apron. Star knees Val in the face. Star top rope crossbodies Val and Val backrolls into a pin on him. Val suplexes Star for 2. Star slingshot flipping neckbreakers him then sentons him for 2.

Star chops him. Va is sat up top and Star hits wild slaps on him. They fight on the 2nd rope. Star hurricanrana's him down. Star springboard swantons him for 2. Star rolls him and double stomps him in the back of the head for 2. Val pop-up powerbombs Star for 2. Val spinning sitout powerbombs Star and pins him.

Thoughts: It wasn't that good. They were rushing and not hitting things clean at all. Val's style also just didn't fit in this kind of match here. I was surprised by Valiente winning here.

Atlantis Jr., Esfinge & Flip Gordon vs. Galeon Fantasma (Barboza, Difunto & Furia Roja)

AJ = Atlantis

1st Fall - AJ came out with two celebs I'm guessing. AJ and Roja go at it. AJ is triple teamed in the corner and escapes. AJ spinning headscissors Roja and armdrags him. Esf springboard diving headscissors Roja. Flip springboard crossbodies Dif then springboard slingblades him. Flip handstand walks and does tricks. Dif and Barb dropkick him as he does it. Flip is triple stomped on. Esf tope con hilos the heels outside. Flip springboard swantons outside. AJ powerslams Dif. AJ top rope frogsplashes Dif and pins him.

2nd Fall - Flip springboard double dropkicks the heels. His tope con hilo is caught outside and he is held in the air for a Dif apron double stomp. Esf is sent into the rails outside. Dif rips AJ's mask. Dif facekicks AJ. Esf is held for chops from Roja. Flip is popped up then Roja headbutts him down. 

Esf takes corner attacks. Esf is held in the air for a top rope Dif double stomp. AJ is double flapjacked. Barb is popped up into a corner dropkick on Esf. Roja corner cannonballs the faces in the corner. Flip is triple gorilla press thrown into the faces in the corner. The heels pick up triple pins. Difunto's team wins the fall. 

3rd Fall - Esf is put in tree of woe and takes a triple team. Flip is held for chops on Roja. Flip boots Roja out of the corner and 2nd rope diving headscissors him. Flip hits a springboard cutter on Roja. Dif is monkey flipped by AJ. AJ step up enzugiri's Roja for 2. The faces hit triple sunset flips for 2 counts.

The faces do triple roll up's for 2. The heels then try triple pin's for nearfalls. Esf superplexes Dif down. Flip springboard swantons Dif for 2. Barb dropkicks AJ in the corner. Dif takes a triple gorilla press into his partners in the corner. Flip and AJ do topes outside. Esf springboard splashes Roja twice and pins him.

Thoughts: It was an okay tag that got more than enough time to play out. None of the faces do anything too crazy flying wise so we didn't get any major wild spots. Flip's team was the favorite and won but this match doesn't really matter that much and it wasn't a very high profile bout. Difunto was creative as usual and really sticks out compared to the other wrestlers.

CMLL 2026 Universal Tournament Semi Final Seven Man Elimination Match - Mistico vs. Angel de Oro vs. Niebla Roja vs. Hechicero vs. Stigma vs. Templario vs. Neon

Oro is sent into the rails before everyone gets in. Neon double springboard headscissors Hech on the ramp. Hech spinning powerbombs Neon on the ramp. Mist enters and jumps off the tron onto Oro and Hech. Roja and Hech trade and Hech twists Roja's neck with his legs. 

Roja enzugiri's Hech in the corner. Hech corner lariats him then Roja spinning forearms him. Roja dropkicks him. Roja bodyscissors Hech over the top. Temp and Oro trade forearms. Temp walks up the buckles and springboard diving headscissors him. Temp then topes Oro outside. 

Neon and Stigma go at it. Neon superkicks him in the gut. Neon pumping knees him then Stig lariats him. Stig hits punches on Neon. Stig bulldogs him. Temp hits forearms on Stig. Stig jumps off the apron and la silla's Roja outside.

Mist comes in. Mist handspring back elbows Temp. Mist springboard diving headscissors him. Mist tornillo dives him outside. Hech and Neon fight. hech rips Neon's mask. Hech drops Neon off a spinning headscissors. Hech surfboards Neon.

Hech hits mounted corner punches on Neon then hits corner lariats. Neon orner lariats him. Neon hiptosses him and 2nd rope double springboard headscissors him. Roja and Oro tease fighting but then hug each other. Mist and Neon then hit springboard diving headscissors on them. Mist and Neon then hit stereo topes.

Stig top rope crossbodies Temp. Temp superkicks him. Stig 2nd rope tornado ddt's Temp. Stig pop-up sitout powerbombs Temp for 2. Temp buckle bombs Stig. Hech step up knees Temp in the corner. Stig toyota rolls Hech for 2. Stig enzugiri's Hech from the apron. Stig splashes Hech off the buckles for 2. Hech step up knees Stig in the corner and swinging hammerlock backbreakers him. Hech pins Stig. Stigma is eliminated.

Neon and Mist go at it. Mist flying headscissors Neon. Neon top rope diving headscissors him. Mist springboard crossbodies him. Neon and Mist stare down. Roja boots Neon over. Roja puts Mist on his back and rocking chairs Neon at the same time. 

Temp and Roja trade. Roja pop-up kicks him. Temp rolls up Roja for 2. Temp powerbomb backbreakers Roja and pins him. Niebla Roja is eliminated.

Temp hits forearms on Oro then is michinoku drivered for 2. Oro toyota rolls and Temp cradle shocks him off of it for 2. Temp and Oro trade forearms and superkicks. Temp pumping knees him then topes him. Hech chops Neon down. Neon superkicks him. Neon standing moonsaults him for 2. Hech flips Neon into a pin attempt.

Hech misses a move and is sent out. Neon topes him. Temp and Mist trade forearms. Mist spin kicks him and kicks him. Temp superkicks him. Temp powerslams Mist. Mist top rope spanish flies Temp for 2 and both men are down. Temp catches Mist's springboard. Temp hits a GTS. Temp sitout gordbusters Mist for 2. Mist springboard canadian destroyers Temp. Mist la mistica's Temp and submits him. Templario is eliminated.

Oro is on the 2nd rope and Neon springboard tilt-a-whirl armdrags him down. Neon misses a top rope moonsault. Oro rolls him into a rocking chair and submits him. Neon is eliminated.

Hech dropkicks Mist then stomps him. Hech rips Mist's mask. Mist then goes to rip Hech's mask and Oro stomps Mist from behind. Oro and Hech double team Mist. Mist top rope corkscrew diving armdrags Hech. Mist's tope is caught by the heels outside and he is dropped throat first on the rail.

Hech pulls Oro down inside. Oro crucifixes him for 2. They trade pin attempts. Mist springboard double crossbodies the heels. Mist 619's Oro then springboard diving headscissors Hech. Mist springboard headscissors Oro then topes Hech. Mist tornillo's Oro outside.

Mist springboard headscissors Hech off the 2nd rope. Mist top rope spanish flies Oro for 2. Hech swinging hammerlock backbreakers Mist. Oro top rope splashes Mist and pins him. Mistico is eliminated.

Oro and Hech are the final two. Oro spinning headscissors Hech then topes him outside. Oro top rope crossbodies Hech. Hech blocks a code red and powerbombs Oro off of it. Hech basement dropkicks Oro. Oro rolls up Hech for 2. Hech blocks Oro's flying headsscissors. Oro gets a 2 count on him.

Oro enzugiri's him off the apron. Oro moonsaults him off the buckles outside. Hech dragon screws Oro around the ropes then stomps his leg over the 2nd rope. Hech is on the 2nd rope. Oro 2nd rope diving headscissors him. Oro top rope splashes Hech. Hech rolls Oro and grounded surfboards him. 

Hech and Oro trade shots. Oro facekicks him for 2. Hech flapjacks Oro then rolls him around the ring for 2. Hech headscissors drops Oro and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a longer match as expected. The first part had a lot of people coming in and out as they pleased and we had a lot of flying. The eliminations eventually started kicking in. I was surprised to see Mistico not make the final two and Hech winning was a surprise. It wasn't officially a torneo, but there was little difference aside from the wrestlers having official teams. It was just okay as it dragged a bit and got a little old after a while. 

Overall thoughts: They only had 5 matches here so everything but the lightning match got more than enough time to play out and went longer. It definitely made for a slower paced and more drawn out card. The main was easily the match of the night but nothing was that great here. I wouldn't really recommend this one but I think I would give it a slight 6 out of 10. It was above average.
