National Organization Wrestling 2/25/2023 - NOW Heavyweight Title - Lucha a Muerte - Ryan Rett vs Abdul Farid

National Organization Wrestling 2/25/2023 - NOW Heavyweight Title - Lucha a Muerte - Ryan Rett vs Abdul Farid

From: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ-nxVi4GwI

This is from Puerto Rico and the thumbnail for this had lots of blood, so I had to check it out. There is no bottom rope here for some reason. Rett pulls Farid out and they start brawling. Farid gets banged into the fencing then Rett hits a bunch of headbutts.  Rett hits some shots in the ring. Farid lays his head over the middle buckle so Rett kicks the buckle. Rett facekicks and lariats him and Farid takes a nice bump on the floor for it.

Farid gets thrown into the fencing out there and grabs a fork. Farid gets stabbed with it and starts to bleed. Farid gets forked again and again then Rett chokes him with a rope. Farid gets his head banged off a truck bed and gets choked more. Farid's bleeding all over the outdoor basketball court then he gets slammed on it. Rett hits mounted punches. Ashur Valentine (Farid's manager) distracts Rett then Farid throws powder. Farid then hits a nice lariat.

Farid topes Rett outside and Farid takes a poorly thought out back bump on the outdoor court after a Farid punch. Farid eye pokes him and just kicks him straight in the nuts because there's no rules here. Farid works him over then Rett hits a nice spinebuster. Rett hits shots and sentons him. Rett goes for his finisher and Ashur Valentine comes in and chokeslams him. Farid running facekicks Rett and shotgun dropkicks him for the win.

The first half of this was really good. It dragged a little towards the end and Rett kind of went down easy here. I didn't really get why Ashur Valentine didn't get involved from the start since there were no rules. This was a good brawl and more interesting than anything I've probably reviewed so far this year. They really got what they were supposed to do here and conveyed their hatred well. Good stuff from two people here who actually know how to work.

National Organization Wrestling TV 7/30/2022 Sabados de Furia 10

National Organization Wrestling TV 7/30/2022 Sabados de Furia 10

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/07/national-organization-wrestling-tv.html

Luis Cruz talks with someone at a show. He talks about El Mariachi and seems to say he has the cure for solving the problem that he is.

Julio Jimenez vs Bad Blood

Blood is a masked man and probably just someone under the mask for this promotion only. Julio snapmares Blood and basement dropkicks him. He then hits some armdrags. Blood is thrown into the ropes, he holds on then throws out Julio. Julio takes punches and chops on the outside. Julio throws his opponent in and then his opponent tries to elbow drop him but Julio moves, making him look like an idiot.

Blood suplexes Julio in from the apron. Blood's manager Max Money chokes Julio and takes a free shot at him. Julio goes to chase him outside and is thrown back in. Blood slams and elbow drops him and Julio hits some back elbows to the gut. Blood dropkicks him then Julio powerslams him.

Julio takes off his shirt and pulls down his straps. He hits punches and double chops him on his head. Julio hits an atomic drop then double underhook ddt's him and wins it.

Thoughts: This really wasn't anything special with just very simple work. I had to wait days to figure out who the masked man was since there were no name graphics and he wasn't anything special.

NOW Title - Bandido vs DJ Pollito

They go face to face and Bandido gives him a clean break. DJ teases punching him on the break but  Bandido avoids it.  Bandido hits some clubs on his back the stands on him for a pin attempt. Max Money,  Bandido's manager, chokes DJ from the outside then  Bandido punches him low near the gut.  Bandido then steps on him/footchokes him.  Bandido bodyblocks him then DJ comes back with a lariat. He does kicks to him as he is down then goes to talk to the fans. DJ comes out and  Bandido eye rakes him.  Bandido chops him in the stands then DJ hits chops on him in the stands.  Bandido then running double axe handles him in the back.

Bandido throws him into a door then bangs his head off a flatbed truck. Bandido hit a clear low blow in front of the ref then Max Money got some shots in on DJ. DJ hits some punches then is superkicked.  Bandido then pins him with his feet on the rope. DJ says Bandido has his feet on the ropes during the pin. The ref asks the fans and they agree.

Bandido goes up to the ref, who pushes him over DJ for 2. Bandido does a bad flying kick then wins it.

Thoughts: This really was super average and they did very little here. I didn't like Bandido getting away with the low blow and I don't know how either man wasn't counted out. The restart and quick finish with Bandido winning was also stupid.

We see clips of the 3-way tag title match where The Star Brothers lost their tag titles.

El Mariachi does a promo in the ring with an older guy. He talks about them trying to put an event together with all of the wrestling champs of Puerto Rico. They said they can't give out all the details now.

Luis Cruz and his crew comes in. Cruz calls a fan in the crowd old. Cruz and Mariachi argue over who should be the president of the company. Mariachi says he wants Jay Justice's title and he says something about Abdul Farid. Cruz talks about Mariachi's kids then Cruz has his guys beat down El Mariachi. Cruz then slaps Mariachi as he is held down and Max Money gives hit a slap too. The Star Brothers come in and break it up, then they are beat down too. Luis Cruz talks trash on the mic while it happens then the Melendez Brothers make the save. They beat up Farid and Talos and send both out.

Mariachi calls Cruz a bendejo then one of The Brothers say Mariachi is not alone. The Brothers then call for a tag title match with Talos and Farid.

The Melendez Brothers do a promo after. They say they want the tag titles. They then mention LAWE, which is another promotion that is behind a paywall, so I haven't seen it.

Overall thoughts: Not a good one here. The two matches we got weren't too good and we had already seen clips of the Mariachi angle over the last few weeks, so it wasn't a surprise.

National Organization Wrestling TV 7/23/2022 Sabados de Furia 9

National Organization Wrestling TV 7/23/2022 Sabados de Furia 9

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/07/national-organization-wrestling-7162022.html

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/07/national-organization-wrestling-tv_31.html

The show is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDJPOaqwZfc

We are told Julio Jimenez will be with us tomorrow and says there will be some big surprises tomorrow.

Title Match - Hardcore Rules - Jay Justice (c) vs El "Insuperable" Mariachi

Mariachi is the heavier guy in the full mask and Jay Justice is the bald guy with just the face mask.

Jay jumps him on his entrance then hits and chokes him with some kind of stick. Jay gets a cookie sheet and Mariachi fights him off with the stick. Mariachi hits him in the head with the pan. Jay is put in the seats and gets chopped there. Mariachi tries to ram his head into the post but ends up going into it. Jay grabs a fork and they fight over it.

Mariachi then grabs the fork and hits him in the head with it. Mariachi dances and taunts the fans then is sprayed down by a fan with a water bottle. Jay starts to bleed and Mariachi puts the fork in the wound.  Jay begs off then low blows Mariachi hard. Jay then sticks the fork in Mariachi's mouth. Jay then grabs a broom and rubs it in his face and chokes him with it.  Jay breaks the broom over Mariachi's back. Jay then gets an even bigger wooden stick and hits him with it.

Jay then pulls his belt out and whips him with it. They finally get in the ring and Jay pours thumbtacks on the mat. Mariachi spinebusters Jay on it. Mariachi grabs a cookie sheet and Jay throws powder in his face. Jay then hits him with the cookie sheet and wins it.

This was nothing but hardcore wrestling here. It was fine for what it was but wasn't anything particularly great. The spots were simple and they sold, so I was fine with it.

Tu A Tu con Jorgie Love

Love is some clear overly gay character. He talks about the show on the 24th and says he has a special guest today - Jay Justice and Luis Cruz. They take off Jorgie's hat. Luis says the boa around his neck is a duster for cleaning. Luis says he and Jay are the champions of Puerto Rico. Jay talks to a painting of a little girl on the wall. Jorgie says he doesn't know who invited Luis. Luis and Jorgie argue about how this interview was set up. Luis says Mariachi and his partner will have a shot at their tag titles in an extreme rules match. He said they will wait for Mariachi at the show for the extreme rules math. Jay says he and Luis have been waiting for the extreme rules match and says no one can take his title away in an extreme rules match. Jay yells at Jorgie after and Jorgie blows a whistle at him.

Tigre Azteca vs Maximus E

E tries to leap frog but gets punched and armdragged. They fight outside and trade punches and if I understood it correctly, these two teamed up to fight Funcion Positive and lot. E gets his shirt put over his head and he is chopped. Tigre chops him on the back then slams him inside.

E hits a nice belly to belly and Tigre backs off before taking lariats. They mess up something and Tigre does a flip for no reason. E then sentons him. Tigre hits a nice side effect and grabs the win in a quick one.

It wasn't too bad with some decent early brawling.

El Mariachi is seen on the phone. He said N.O.W. has a lot of opportunities and seems to be making a sales pitch for someone to come. Luis Cruz walks in. He shows him the title and says he has what he wants. He mocks him and makes a comment about his children. Mariachi swings at him then Jay Justice drops him with a cookie sheet shot. Cruz then talks trash as Jay hits him. He then tells him to send something to his wife and children as Mariachi is left laying.

We see clips from last week's triple threat tag title match. We then see clips of the Star Brothers promo about losing the tag titles.

Ashur Valentine cuts a promo in front of a ring while people take bumps in it. He calls out The Star Brothers. Someone starts sweeping the ring behind him and Ashur tells Abdul Farid to beat up the guy sweeping the ring. He tells the Star Brothers that this will be them on Sunday at Revancha de Verano.

Luis Cruz does a promo. Luis talks about a promoter of NOW named Felix Perez Matias. He isn't happy with him hooking up with Julio Jimenez. He calls him poor and says he is old. Luis says he is a good and honest person and says someone is going to face Ryan Red.

Bandido vs La Bestia?

I have no idea who Bandido is facing. I tried and couldn't find anything since he was an open challenger. They brawl to start and Bestia is hit with a can and has his head banged off a pick-up truck.

They get in the ring and Bandido lariats him. Bandido flips off the fans and takes corner punches. Bestia takes a nice boot in the corner for 2. Bestia then rolls up Bandido for 2 and takes a Bandido lariat. Bandido running knees Bestia then headbutts him. Bandido then corner cannonballs him for 2. Besita back body drops Bandido then splashes him. Bandido flying kicks Bestia and grabs the win.

It was short and simple and there wasn't anything wrong with it. Just an average match.

We see clips of Cruz, Leinord White and Ashur Valentine beating up El Mariachi. Luis says he needs to be handed over the presidency. We then see Luis talking to Black Trebol over the phone.

We cut to Black Trebol's hotel room. He is fighting for the title on July 24th but implies he is not interested in the total. He talks about places he wrestled in.

Aiden Grimm then does a promo. He says he respects him and says he is no longer a little boy that Trebol knew, but the champion. He said he is determined to leave the show as champ.

Trebol then does another promo on Aiden Grimm. He says he is a young man with a bright future but he will have short reign when he beats him. He says we will see if youth can beat experience.

We then see a clip of someone watching on a phone laughing.

Ryan Rett does a promo. The audio for this is messed up. He says he will be prepared.

El Bori does a promo on Luis Cruz. He said he doesn't know what he did to him but says Cruz seems to have it out for him. He talks about El Bori. He said he has made it in wrestling on his own efforts. He said only his dad believed he could make it. He talks about having to deal with Jay Justice. He said he holds a bias towards him due to his physique, but he says a real champion is proud of himself and the people and is loyal and faithful. He says you have to have balls and heart. He says on the 24th, he rights Ryan Red. He said it'll be a good time to show how well he can wrestle against him. He said he knows the fight will get heated and says he is the son of Boriken. He says he will show that it is better to give than receiver.

Luis Cruz then does a promo with Jay Justice. He says he will take the company to a new level with Jay Justice and they are carrying a cookie sheet they hit Mariachi with. Jay says no one can take the title away from him. He says the cookie sheet is a painting and a work of art that he painted. Cruz said Mariachi has a title thanks Felix the Promoter and says he won't hold it for long. This was a fun promo with Jay Justice playing up the character well.

Overall thoughts: This was a decent episode. The three matches were okay and we had a couple of good promos here. I also got a kick out of Mariachi getting nailed with the cookie sheet from Jay.

National Organization Wrestling 7/16/2022 Sabados de Furia 8

National Organization Wrestling 7/16/2022 Sabados de Furia 8

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/07/national-organization-wrestling-tv.html

This is from Yauco, Puerto Rico. This promotion only has a facebook page with no roster photos and has no name graphics. I believe this is a new promotion.

We see clips of La Revolucion beating up The Star Brothers.

Ashur Valentine does a promo though it's in Spanish. He talks about the tag team titles and tells us time is running out.

La Revolucion with Max Money vs Abdul Farid and Talos with Ashur Valentine

I believe the ref is named Nazario. La Revolucion wears the same gear, so who knows which one is which. Revolucion 1 chops Abdul in the corner. They say Abdul is terrorist from Turkey. Revolucion 2 corner spears Abdul then Abdul fights him off with a boot and a lariat. Abdul punches him and corner spears him. Talos splashes #2 in the corner and running lariats him. Talos hits bad hammerfists then a not so pretty sliding lariat for 2. Abdul chinlocks #2 then #2 comes back with a nice facekick and tags out.

Abdul takes a double suplex for 2. Abdul slams #2 then #2 powerslams Abdul off his 2nd rope crossbody attempt. #1 and Talos gets in and #1 flying shoulders him. #1 dropkicks him in the knee then they sandwich facekick Talos. Talos gets thrown into a Revucion and knocks him other then runs into the ref. He blocks Abdul's flag shot then hits Abdul with it. The ref sees Revulcion do it and disqualifies him.

Hey, this may be Puerto Rico, they may have no name graphics and a low budget, but this ref is better than most america nand Japanese refs for actually disqualifing someone when they broke the rules. I'm not even mad. No one here was real great but it was a short match and it was just average.

La Revulcion points their fingers at Luis La Voz Cruz at the commentators table after.

We get a commercial for 16 wheel hauling trucks which I found interesting. We then get an ad for a junky looking used car lot.

We see clips of who I believe is El Mariachi going after Luis La Voz Cruz then getting beaten down for it.

We see video of Luis La Voz Cruz cutting a promo on Aiden Grimm then we see clips of Grimm vs someone. Grimm either won or retained the title here.

We then see clips of Julio Jimienez and Zion RT1 vs Beast and possibly Jay Justice.

The Star Brothers do a promo on Funcion Positiva (Julio Jimenez and someone else). They mention WWC and say they want to become tag champions in N.O.W.

Luis gets on the mic again before the next match starts and says it will be a triple threat for the tag titles.

NOW Tag Titles - The Star Brothers (Michael and Ivan) vs Funcion Positiva (Julio Jimenez and Zion RT1) vs Abdul Farid and Talos

We get some stalling to start then Zion chops Abdul and corner clotheslines him. Julio and Zion throw Abdul back into the buckles then Julio side slams Abdul for 2. There's some powder on the ring and it flew everywhere when Abdul went down. Zion then slams Abdul's and Talos' heads together outside and takes a shot on Ashur. One of the Star Bros backdrops Abdul. Abdul then is slammed for 2 by Ivan the Star Brother. Ivan tags in Julio and Abdul eye rakes Julio. Abdul takes shots at his opponents on the apron. Juilio then sits in the stands and Talos chops him there.

Abdul hits a nice punch on Julio then rides the back of his neck on the ropes. Talos splashes Julio. One of the Stars is tagged in and he gets lariated by Talos. Talos foot chokes one of the Stars then corner spears him. Abdul snapmares a Star then chinlocks him. The Star Brother comes back with punches then Abdul hits a nice dropkick on him. Abdul misses a clothesline and a Star does a terrible spear that is botched. The Star Brother then neckbreakers Abdul. The other Star Brother (I think Michael) gets in and beats up on Talos. He flying kicks Talos then takes a backdrop into a neckbreaker from Funcion Positiva.

One of the Star Brothers superkicks Julio then Julio and Zion fight Talos outside. One of the Star's then ducks an Abdul punch and topes 3 people outside. Abdul grabs his flag and nails a Star Brother with it then throws the flag out. Abdul grabs the ref who is counting super slow and Abdul picks up the win and the tag titles!

It wasn't a classic but the heels were heels and the faces acted like faces. It wasn't clean or pretty but it wasn't that bad.

Luis poses with Talos, Abdul and Ashur after.

The Star Brothers do a promo on Luis. They are not happy about their match becoming a three way. They said something to the effect of they won as champions but will lose as champions too. The other brother says tag titles were unfairly taken from them.

Luis then talks again. He hypes up an event and rips El Mariachi for trying him. He says Mariachi could have won the battle but not the war. He was not happy about Mariachi slapping him. He says he is the vice president of NOW and the future president of it. He runs down some of the next card at Revancha de Verano. We get a hype package for Revancha de Verano and that's it for this show.

Overall thoughts: Not the greatest wrestling, but the faces were faces, the heels were heels, the rules mattered and they kept it simple. Some technological improvements would be welcome but I didn't mind the show. Luis was on this show a little too much, but I have a feeling he either owns the company knows someone who does.
