Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/09/wwe-evolve-9172025.html
We are at the Performance Center, Robert Stone and Pete Rosenberg are on commentary.
The Vanity Project do a video to start. They say the odds are stacked against Jackson Drake tonight. Smokes says Brooks Jensen is a loner and unpredictable. Bryce says Keanu Carver doesn't give a d@mn. Drake says Keanu has everything but intelligence and strategy. Drake says he says it and then backs it up. He says they aren't just getting a title shot tonight, they are becoming part of his history.
Carlee Bright does a promo with Kendal Grey before the match. She says Diggs is the most athletic woman on the roster and people see her as a happy go lucky girl. She says it doesn't mean she can't hang with the top athletes on Evolve.
Layla Diggs is with Masyn Holiday and says Carlee Bright is the model superstar. Diggs says it's nothing personal and says Carlee is the perfect person. She says she will do whatever it takes to make sure the best woman wins.
Carlee Bright vs Layla Diggs
Diggs has Masyn Holiday with her and they dance as usual.
LD snapmares her and grabs a headscissors. LD hammerlocks her. LD fireman's carry takeovers her then does a reverse bow and arrow. CB kips up, armdrags her and armdrags her off the casadora. CB headscissors her but LD cartwheels out. LD sunset flips her and does an unusual bodyscissors takedown. They try to dropkick each other at the same time and kip up together.
CB jumping neckbreakers her off a missed lariat for 2. LD hits knees to the back then flipping sentons her. LD catches her crossbody and slams her. CB tries to move out of a standing moonsault but gets landed on.
CB misses a 2nd rope moonsault and takes a leg lariat for 2. LD forward cartwheels face first into the buckles. CB tornado ddt's her for 2. CB hits an overdrive on her and wins.
Thoughts: They had some encouraging moments but some green moments as well. LD was not supposed to hit that standing moonsault and things could have been a bit cleaner. These girls really need to be on here doing this matches weekly though so they get better. I thought this should have been a bit better than it was.
We go to break and return. Kendal Gray and Carlee Bright talk on the might. KG tells her all her hard work is paying off. KG says she will keep the momentum and has Wendy Choo on her mind. She says she will smack the smile off her face. She says Choo is the craziest woman she has seen but she's going for the Evolve Title when she beats her. She says she's the only person who can beat Kali Armstrong and doesn't care when it is, because the title will be hers.
Kali Armstrong comes out. She says KG has a lot of fire in her. She says she's talking big and bad and making herself sound real tough. KG says she is tough. Kali tells her to get past Wendy Choo because she calls her out because she if Choo doesn't break her, she will because she's different.
Tate Wilder and Ridge Holland interrupt and fight each other. Stevie Turner says if they think they are so tough then prove it and fight now.
Tate Wilder vs Ridge Holland
Tate's head is banged off the apron. Tate hits forearms inside and is rammed into the buckles with corner spears. Ridge hits knees to the gut and an uppercut.
Tate hits two dropkicks and sends Ridge out. Tate slingshot plancha's him. Tate is sent into the post. We go to break and return. Ridge headbutts him then is sent out. Tate kneelifts him. Ridge lariats him down from the apron then bangs Tate's head off the mat.
Tate hits punches then Ridge overhead belly to belly suplexes him. Ridge germans him and hits another overhead belly to belly for 2. Ridge elbow drops him. Tate hits some shots. Ridge spinebusters him then half-crabs him.
Tate hits up kicks then 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him. Ridge slams him and misses an elbow drop. Tate corner lariats him then gets headbutted. Ridge forearms him. Tate back body drops him then backdrops him. Tate 2nd rope swantons him.
Tate hits a step up enzugiri for 2. Ridge slams him then hits a corner cannonball. Ridge gutwrench powerbombs him and wins.
Thoughts: It was okay. It was mostly them throwing shots at each other and Ridge suplexing him around. Tate needed to show a bit more personality and fire here but he did good in this longer match with his experience level.
Marcus Mathers and Aaron Rourke do a sit down video on the back. AR says they are more alike than people think. They say they think the other is cool. MM says they have wrestled on the same shows and think they have chemistry. They say to expect grit, aerial artistry and you won't know what they will do. AR says they will stop at nothing to climb the ranks of evolve.
It's GAL talks to Jamar Hampton in the back. Gal says they need to bring the stud-a-meter to Evolve. Gal says Jamar is a 10 on it. He says Marcus Mathers is a 3 at most. He says Rourke is a 2.5. Jamar agrees. He says they are weak and frail and GAL says they will fail.
Keanu Carver says he's not going back to the streets and he's taking what's his.
We go to the back. Wendy Choo has Kendal Grey down in her hold and Grey is out. People then check on them.

Drake pounds on BJ and chops KC. BJ shoulders Drake over then KC lariats Drake over the top. KC and BJ shoulder battle for a bit. They butt heads and Drake pushes them into each other. Drake clips KC from behind then lariats him from behind.

Drake enzugiri's KC. KC no sells it. Drake is on KC's shoulders and BJ spinning heel kicks him off the top. KC 2nd rope superplexes BJ then Drake top rope swantons KC. KC catches Drake's tope and forearms him down while he's bridged on the bottom rope.
Bryce Donovan comes out, pushes KC into the post and facekicks him. BJ running lariats Drake for 2 when Bryce pulls BJ off. BJ grabs Bryce and Bryce punches him. Drake flying knees BJ for the win.
Thoughts: It got a lot of time which was nice. The match was better than I expected and decent for what it was. I didn't love the shenanigans but I guess it protects BJ some. I thought we might have gotten a rare upset here as neither KC or BJ really needed to lose. I'm not sure what happens next with any of the three guys now.
Stevie Turner watches in the back. She says it was a great show. She then says let's see what the plans are for next week. Her planner has an "I Quit Match" sticky note in it which she thinks is from Wendy Choo. She says it's not a bad idea and wonders how she got in here.
Overall thoughts: It was an okay show. We had 3 new matches here. Carlee/Diggs should have been a bit cleaner. Ridge/Tate was okay and was mostly strikes and suplexes. The main got a lot of time. It was fine and worked out better than expected. Drake retained and it's not clear who is next for him. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 mostly for the main.
