5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block A Match - Ruaka vs. Yuria Hime
Ru steps on her foot to start. Hime running facekicks her. Ru shoulders her over. Ru hair throws her and foot chokes her twice. Hime hits chest forearms. Ru eye rakes her then Hime basement dropkicks her for 2. Ru forearms her down.
Hime sleepers her. Ru forearms her down. Hime hits facekicks on her then Ru running lariats her. Ru hits a sliding lariat then Hime cradles her for 2. Ru is tripped into the ropes then Hime facekicks her there. Hime legdrops her for 2.
Hime hits forearms on Ru. Ru lariats her then fisherman suplexes her for 2. Ru double arm chokeslams her and wins.
Thoughts: It wasn't bad. It was nothing too special but Hime tried and showed some fire and it didn't overstay its welcome.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block B Match - Momo Kohgo vs. Ranna Yagami
Ran hits a bunch of chest forearms to start. Momo fires back then Ran gets more in. Momo armdrags her and basement dropkicks her. Momo works the arm and knee drops it. Momo cranks Ran's arm back. Momo then ties up Ran's arms.
Ran dropkicks Momo then PK's her for 2. They trade chest forearms. Ran hits chest kicks and drops her. Ran kicks her in the back then armbars her. Ran kicks her arm. Ran hits knees to the gut and does a weird drop on her for 2.
Ran is tripped into the ropes and is hit with a 619. Momo springboard dropkicks her. Momo armbars her and Ran ropebreaks.
Momo superkicks her then sideways double underhook suplexes her for 2. Ran high kicks her then buzzsaw kicks her for the win.
Thoughts: There was a lot of armwork here that didn't really go anywhere. The match wasn't boring though and I was mostly okay with it as it held my interest.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block A Match - Ami Sourei vs. Miyu Amasaki
They lock up and Miyu rolls her. Ami boots her in the gut then slams her. Ami hits another slam and then a 3rd for 2. Ami chops her while she's tied up in the ropes. Ami splashes Miyu while she's between the ropes. Ami then half-crabs her.
Ami chops her in the corner and misses a splash. Miyu flying knees her then basement dropkicks her. Miyu scholar collars her and Ami ropebreaks. Ami shoulders her over then half-crabs her.
Ami racks Miyu. Ami corner splashes her then sliding lariats her for 2. Ami goes for a suplex and Miyu ddt's her. Miyu then hits another ddt for 2. Ami suplexes her then running lariats. Ami blue thunders her for 2. Miyu rolls her up for 2 then does a surprise pin attempt and wins.
Thoughts: I was alright with this one. Ami connected on her moves. Miyu was the underdog all throughout here and only won via a surprise pin which made sense with what they were doing.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block B Match - Momo Watanabe vs. Hina
Hina running dropkicks Momo then hits a bunch of chest forearms. Momo pulls her down by the hair. Hina blocks a PK and rolls her up for 2. Hina is then thrown out. Momo PK's her from the apron. Hina is then sent into the seats.
Momo kicks her in the back inside the ring. Hina hip throws her. Hina flying knees her in the corner then neckbreakers her for 2. Momo whips her into the ropes and kicks her in the back. Hina backrolls out of a meteora then does a crab on her. Hina switches to the stf and Momo ropebreaks.
Hina hits STO's for 2. Momo puts her in tree of woe and kicks her there. Momo PK's her for 2. Momo high kicks her then does a b-driver for 2. Hina does a wrist-clutch, half-nelson uranage then fisherman suplexes her for 2.
Hina STO's her then jackhammers her for 2. Hina misses a top rope frogsplash. Momo punts her in the face for 2. Hina takes a buzzsaw kick. Momo package tombstones her but Hina no sells it and pins her to win.
Thoughts: I liked it minus the finish. The package tombstone shouldn't be no sold. It would have just been better if she rolled her up and then we could have gotten the same result. The two kept things moving and worked alright together here.
Momo hits her with her bat after then shoves the ref over.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block A Match - Saya Iida vs. Bozilla
They go face to chest. Boz kneels down to be on level with her. They lock up from there and Saya is pushed over. Saya shoves her and hits forearms. They shoulder battle and Saya gets nowhere. Saya hits chest forearms and Boz shoulders her over. Boz hair throws her. Saya corner forearms her then takes a pop-up drop for 2. Saya gets on her back with a sleeper. Boz throws her over then Saya hits a sliding back elbow.
They trade chest forearms. Boz then forearms her over. Say lariats her from behind then clips her. Saya sliding lariats her for 2. Saya gets thrown down from the top. Boz cradle shocks her for 2.
Boz hits a corner splash then misses on. Saya hits chops. Boz then chops her back. Saya hits more chops. Saya sliding lariats her twice for 2. Saya goes for the pin but Boz just picks her up and backbreakers her. Boz full-nelson backbreakers her for 2.
Saya running lariats her then hits a bunch of strikes on the ropes. Boz lariats her. Saya sunset flips her and tries a pin. Boz sitout powerbombs her and wins.
Thoughts: The size differences were pretty wild here as Saya looked like a midget against her and had no real believable way of winning. They gave Saya some offense here but it just prolonged the inevitable.
Boz hits a short arm lariat on her after.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block B Match - Sareee vs. HANAKO
Sare waistlocks her and hits a chest shot. Hana backbreakers her. Sare running dropkicks her then Hana shoulders her over. Hana side headlocks her. Sare side headlock takeovers her. Hana headscissors her.
Hana goes for a guillotine and Sare takes her down. Sare indian deathlocks her. Sare stands and stomps on her back. Sare then foot chokes her. Hana corner splashes and slams her for 2.
Hana crabs Sare and Sare ropebreaks. Sare rolls her up for 2 then low dropkicks her. Sare top rope dropkicks her for 2. Sare is put up top. She headbutts Hana. Hana 2nd rope superplexes her and then holds on for more suplexes for 2.
They trade chest forearms. Hana lariats her over for 2. Sare rolls her into a double stomp. Sare then double stomps her off the buckles for 2. Hana spinning drops her with a head and arm choke for 2.
Sare rebound germans her then step up enzugiri's her. Sare does an octopus. Hana then submits.
Thoughts: I would have liked to have seen Hana throw Sareee around a bit more and use her size against her. I think Sareee did an okay job fighting as the smaller wrestler here and it was alright.
Sareee talks to Hana on the mic after. Hana gets mad and grabs her. Hana grabs the mic and grabs her belt. Sareee then talks more as Hana leaves.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block B Match - Konami vs. Suzu Suzuki
Suzu poses on the ropes during intros and is nailed. They trade forearms outside. Suzu is sent into the post and the seats. Kon chokes her with an umbrella. Kon kicks her in the back. Suzu trips her in the corner and running knees her.
Suzu kicks her in the back then running boots her against the bottom rope. Kon high kicks her on the apron then is pulled off of it. Suzu throws her into the seats then hits her with an umbrella. Kon's head is banged off a table outside.
They trade forearms in the ring. Suzu headbutts her and Kon headbutts back. Kon high kicks her and both fall over. Kon fisherman suplexes her. Kon is handed spray paint but Suzu knocks it away. Kon germans her for 2.
Kon diving kicks her off the top for 2. Suzu rolls her up for 2 then hits a tequila shot for 2. Suzu goes up top. Kon tries to use spray paint on her but Suzu ends up using it on her. Kon takes a running powerbomb for 2.
Suzu germans her three times and wins.
Thoughts: I liked this one. They kept up a good pace, they went after each other aggressively and the crowd was into it. It went better than I expected and was a nice little fight.
Suzu then talks on the mic after.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Block A Match - Saori Anou vs. Aya Sakura
Aya hits chest kicks to start and SA facekicks her. Aya hits more chest kicks then SA dragon screws her. SA does a figure eight to her and Aya ropebreaks. SA stands on Aya's leg on the ropes then baseball slides it. SA hits some bad kicks and Aya rolling triangles her.
Aya chest kicks her against the bottom rope. Aya running knees her against the ropes for 2. They trade chest kicks for facekicks. Aya chest kicks her down and takes a step up enzugiri. Aya suplexes her then takes a fisherman's suplex.
SA top rope dropkicks Aya then fisherman suplexes her for 2. SA goes up top and is kicked. Aya top rope plancha's her outside. Aya spinning heel kicks her in the corner then dropkicks her off the ropes.
Aya flying knees her off the top for 2. SA germans her. SA ties up one of her legs and armbars her. SA then chokes her with her leg. SA slaps her then Aya slaps and kicks back. SA wheelbarrow germans her for 2. SA headhunters her while holding the arm and pins her.
Thoughts: It was what it looked like it would be and was a decent match. Aya stood up to Anou and they traded a lot of kicks here. Aya had a good showing and showed some guts before going down.
They both talk to each other on the mic after.
Overall thoughts: I was okay with every match on this card. Boz/Saya had the most issues as Saya was just too small for her but they worked it the best they could and it was watchable. The main was fine and Konami/Suzu was probably the match of the night. Momo/Hina beat my expectations as did Miyu/Ami. I'd give this a 7 out of 10 as it was filled with shorter but decent matches. It was a good show overall.
