Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/09/aew-dynamite-9172025-september-to.html

Bryan Danielson, Taz and Excalibur are on commentary. We are in the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA again.

Adam Page vs Josh Alexander

They hockey fight to start. Page pounds on him in the corner. JA hits forearms then Page chops him. Josh running facekicks him then goes for the ankle lock. Page springboard lariats him on the apron. Page plancha's out and is hit with a forearm. Josh kind of brainbusters him on the apron then misses a crossbody on his back on the apron.

Page moonsaults off the apron onto him, gets caught and ends up doing an enzugiri to him. Page lariats him over the rail. Page hits chops and Josh crossfaces him against the ropes. Page lariats Josh over the top then plancha's him.

Josh stalls outside and we go to PiP break. We return and Page hits chops. Josh running facekicks him. Josh corner forearms him. Page fallaway slams him and kips up. Page death valley drivers him for 2. Page misses a buckshot lariat. Josh hits 2 germans in the ring, one on the apron and Page flips out of one on the floor. Page the exploders him on his head on the floor against the rails.

They get back in the ring. They trade forearms on their knees then get up and trade. Page pop-up sitout powerbombs him for 2. They fight on the 2nd rope and Josh hits a green bay plunge for 2.

Josh ankle locks him and Page ropebreaks. Josh boots him on the apron. Page hits deadeye on the apron. Page top rope moonsaults him outside. Lance Archer grabs Page and Page hits the worst spinning forearm ever on him. He then back body drops Rocky Romero on the floor, missing Lance. Page buckshot lariats Josh and wins.

Thoughts: I didn't like it all. They did way too much here then went on for another 5 minutes. Josh got suplexed right on his head on the floor and was back up to beat the countout count in. Rocky Romero also took a back body drop from the apron to the floor which didn't look fun. Page won as expected here.

Page says he didn't spill blood to win the title just so MJF could change the stipulations of his matches. He says the most important word in All Elite Wrestling is the wrestling and that's what he's here to do. He says he's the AEW champ.

Kyle Fletcher comes out with Don Callis. Kyle says he runs AEW. He asks what he has to say about his challenge. Page tells him to get in the ring if he wants to speak to him. Kyle gets in the ring and asks what he has to say.

Page says he sees a man full of potential yet he can't put on his socks (Kyle isn't wearing socks). He says Kyle is built like a brickhouse. He says he's fast and strong. He says he sees himself 6 years ago in him and sees him as full of potential. He says he's not ready.

Kyle says he's heard that his whole life. He says he is told he hasn't reached his prime yet but he says his prime is now and will continue as long as he pleases. He says he's ready to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders and he's ready to be champ now. Page says he will give him a shot if he's ready. He says he needs him to do it himself and face him alone. He says he needs him to leave Don Callis and The Family behind him and find some socks.

Kyle says he has his word that it'll be man vs man at All Out but he's leaving with the title. He says he won't fail like he did. He says he will say his full name.

MJF does a promo after Collision on Saturday. He said the night before was his wedding. He says no honeymoon can start until Mark Briscoe is dead. He said his wife told him if he left they were done. MJF says he's married to the game, hate and ending Mark Briscoe. MJF says he will give Mark the same answer he did on his wedding night, "I do, I do, by God, I do".

Renee talks from earlier in the day. She tells The Bucks they are in the 500,000 tag match tonight. She asks what they will do if they win the money. One of them says they will be doubling their money on slot machines and the other says they will be door-dashing from Morton's Steakhouse. They go to sit next to The Dark Order and The Order says the seats are taken. They then go to sit next to Brandon Cutler. He says he should have said this to them a long time ago, "shut up Young Bucks".

Jon Moxley comes in. He says nothing has changed. He tells them to show up to win.

Mercedes Mone and Emi Sakura vs Riho and Alex Windsor

Mone and Riho hockey fight on the corner. Emi hair throws Riho. Riho cartwheels out of one then is slammed. Riho 619's Emi then Alex russian legsweps Emi for 2. Alex lifts Riho into a headscissonrs on Mone. Alex lifts Riho into a corner dropkick on Emi then Riho jumps off her back to forearm Mone in the corner. Alex cannonballs the heels off the apron. Riho then plancha's them off the top.

We go to PiP break and return. Mone meteora's Riho in the corner. Riho spinning headscissors Mone. Alex and Mone hovkey fight. Alex corner lariats her then flying lariats her. Alex stun guns Mone. Alex is bridged on the ropes and Riho top rope double foot stomps her. Riho dropkicks her through the ropes.

Mone flips Emi onto Riho off the top for 2. Riho does a bad ranhei on Emi for 2. Alex and Riho put stereo submissions on the heels and Riho taps out Emi with a half-crab.

Thoughts:
It was fine but random. Nobody knows or cares that Emi is Riho's teacher and Emi hasn't been seen on this show for a long time. Riho's team won as expected because Riho needed some kind of momentum going into the Mone match after she randomly returned.

Ricochet and The Gates of Agony are interviewed outside. Ric says The Hurt Syndicate are cowards. He says he will tell his men to stay in the back and tells Shelton to have his men stay in the back. He says after he embarrasses him, they will have all the momentum going into Toronto. Ric says they will have no choice but to respect them.

We get a video on FTR vs Cage and Copeland, talking about the titles they have held and their history.

FTR and Stokeley Hathaway come out. Stoke says the video package was BS. He says Toronto won't be a dream match but a fight, a fight the FTR will win. Stoke says he hates this place.

Dax says this could and should have been a dream match. Dax dares someone to come out and fight. Dax goes up to a fan and threatens him. He then goes up to someone else. Dax argues with another fan. FTR knock over a camera man and beat up two guards. Refs then come out to stop it.

Thoughts: We saw this already and it felt like a waste of time.

The Hurt Syndicate are interviewed. Shelton says if Ric can leve his boys in the back, he will leave his boys in the back and put Ric on his back.

Ricochet vs Shelton Benjamin

Ric hits dropkicks in the corner to start. Ric clubs on him then dropkicks him out. Ric fosbury flops him outside. Ric springboard 450's him for 2. SB step up knees him in the corner, sends him into the corner and Ric goes over the top to the floor.

Ric is sent into the rail and apron edge. Ric is backdropped on the rail edge. SB does a nice throw on him. SB goes into the commentary table. Ric running dropkicks him off the apron.

We go to PiP break and return. Ric jumps off the top, sweeps SB and pumping knees him for 2. Ric hits chops then enzugiri's him in the corner. Ric's springboard is caught and he takes a belly to belly overhead suplex. SB germans him. SB release germans him. SB suplexes him for 2. Ric double stomps him then pumping knees him. Ric spin kicks him in the face and SB superkicks him.

Ric hits a top rope spanish fly for 2. Ric grabs his golden scissors. SB stops it and lariats him. SB grabs the scissors and breaks them. The Gates of Agony distract and Tora headbutts SB. Ric then pin SB.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. It was mostly flying and superkicks as expected and the interference spot at the end wasn't good.

MVP comes out and swings his cane at Kaun. Lashley then fights with Toa. SB superkicks Ric. Refs then come out to stop it.

Hook does a video on a rooftop. He says he appreciated everything Samoa Joe did for him. He says Joe replaced him before his body was cold. He says he knows how it works - you get injured and it's the next man up. He says maybe it's time for him to stand on his own, or maybe not.

Tony Schiavone interviews Don Callis and Kyle Fletcher in the parking lot. Don puts over Kyle. Don says he will bring the title home to The Family. Kyle says they will have their hands on the title in 2 weeks. Kyle says he's got this and promises he's bringing it home.

They fight with kendo sticks in the aisle. Toni hits stick shots on her outside. Skye hits some in the ring. Toni hits her in the gut with the stick. She hits her with a cookie sheet and a sign. Skye hits her in the butt with a cookie sheet then staples her in the butt. Skye then staples her in her female parts.

Toni staples Skye down low then in the butt. Toni hip attacks her off the apron. We go to PiP break and return. They fight on the top of the rail. They both end up crotching themselves on the rail and trade punches there.

Skye hits her with a sign that has a street sign underneath. Skye is swept up top. They reveal a table with mouse traps on it. Toni grabs cheese from it and give it to the commentators. Skye's hand is put in a mouse trap.

Skye superkicks Toni on the apron and powerbombs her onto the mouse trap table which doesn't break. Toni bangs Skye's head off a chair between the buckles. She then chairs her. Toni ddt's her for 2.

Toni hits Skye with an electric fly swatter. Skye powerbombs Toni through a trash can. Toni shoves a chair in Skye's face. Toni hip attacks a sign into Skye. Toni short piledrivers Skye and wins.

Thoughts:
Toni dressed up as The Sandman here since they are in Philly. There were a lot of cutesy spots here with them attacking each other in the genitals. I didn't really care for that. It was a hardcore style match with mostly weapons shots and not a lot of wrestling.

Julia Hart and Thekla attack Toni after. Kris Statlander comes out to help and is double teamed. Jamie Hayter comes out to help. Jamie drops Thekla with a forearm then lariats Kris on accident. Hart STO's Jamie. Thek then running spears Toni and does a bridge over her.

Willow Nightingale is interviewed. She says wrestling is crazy and nutty. She says she tries to stand up for the good and make it a good place. She says people who defy it should be punched in the face. She says she wants to fight Marina Shafir. Harley Cameron comes in with a guitar. She sings and tries to get her to make up with Kris. Willow rejects it and tells Harley to watch her back in regards to Kris Statlander.

$500,000 Tag Match - The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) abd The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli) vs The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs) vs Bandido and Brody King

The money for this is on the commentary table. The Bucks had an intro with their real names and goofy photos of them on monitors.

Band shoulders Nick over. Nick walks up the buckles and corkscrew armdrags him down for 2. Nick backslides him and tries to get help from his brother on a pin attempt. Band dropkicks Nick. King slams Nick, drops Matt on him and sentons both together. Band dances and King stops him. Band is thrown onto Matt's knees.

Band tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Yuta. Yuta hits forearms on Joe then Joe hits leg kicks. Joe rolling ankle locks him. Yuta ropebreaks. Joe hits punches on Yuta. KS chops Yuta in the corner. Yuta 2nd rope dropkicks KS.

CC euros KS in the corner. KS hits a forearm flurry on CC then corner dropkicks him. KS sleepers CC. 6 of the 10 start fighting in the ring. The Bucks are knocked off the apron then tope'd by King. Hobbs double clotheslines The Bucks.

KS STO's CC. Band top rope moonsaults the heels outside. Band top rope splashes CC for 2. We go to PiP break and return. Band top rope tornillos Nick. Matt corkscrew dives on King outside. Band takes a sliced bread and a running knee for 2.

Band is double hiptossed into the ropes and does a double armdrag off of it. Band does a pop-up cutter on Matt. Hobbs comes in and double flying shoulders Mox and CC. Hobbs hits corner lariats on the heels then hits a corner splash on them. Shafir distracts Hobbs. Yuta chairs Hobbs.

Hobbs throws Yuta out. Hobbs lariats CC. King corner splashes The Bucks in the corner. King corner cannonballs Matt for 2. King top rope superplexes Matt.

Matt and Mox hit moves at the same time. CC giant swings King, somewhat. Joe lariats CC then is ddt'd by Mox. Hobbs spinebusters Mox then Yuta springboard elbows Hobbs. KS takes a double superkick, as does King. Band hits a double hurricanrana on The Bucks. Band hits a reverse GTW on a Buck. The Bucks block a monkey flip and one Buck holds the other's foot on the ropes so they can pin Band.

Thoughts: It was the same match it always is with a lot of fast paced spots, flying and people come in and out. It was fine but nothing super memorable.

The Bucks grab the money after and sniff it. King beats them up and Band joins in. The Death Riders send KS into the rail then Joe into the steps. Hobbs is group stomped in the ring.

Darby Allin comes out to help. He gets on Mox's back and punches him. He then dropkicks him in the corner. Darby is then hit from behind by Daniel Garcia in a hoodie. DG is supposed to curbstomp Darby into a chair but somehow misses. DG then curbstomps him into a chair. DG then stomps and pounds on Darby. DG and the heels leave to close the show.

Thoughts: Eh. I guess it's an upgrade for Garcia as he will surely get in more high profile matches but it isn't going to get him any more over.

Overall thoughts: I didn't like the opener. The women's tag was alright. Ricochet/Shelton was an indy style match and I didn't care for that either. Tony and Skye had a hardcore match with a lot of spots involving female private parts and I didn't think it was serious enough. The main was fun but nothing we haven't been seeing. The big moment of the night was Daniel Garcia turning heel and joining The Death Riders. It will get him in bigger matches but I don't think it will help him get more over. I don't think they are doing a great job of making the upcoming PPV feel like a big deal. I thought it was an average night for AEW and I'd give it a 5 out of 10 overall.
