5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Quarter Final Blue Stars Match - Suzu Suzuki vs. Bozilla
Boz his her from behind and hits a bunch of punches. Boz bites her then hair throws her. Boz hits a corner splash then throws Suzu on a suplex. Boz sentons her for 2. They trade chest forearms. Suzu trips her and sends her into the seats outside. They fight in the stands. Suzu spits something at her.
Boz bangs Suzu's head off the apron then Boz is sent into the seats. Boz hits chest forearms and headbutts Suzu. Suzu throws a chair at her. They get back in the ring and trade chest forearms.
They lariat each other on the ropes and Boz samoan drops her. Boz running knees her against the ropes. Suzu hurricanrana's her off the buckles. Suzu superkicks her then Boz lariats her.
Boz release germans her then death valley drivers her for 2. Boz powerbombs her then Suzu gets a pin attempt off of it for 2. Boz piledrivers her for 2. Boz misses a vader bomb. Suzu hits a tequila shot for 2. Suzu hits superkicks to the head then does a headbutt flurry. Suzu buzzsaw kicks her for 2.
Suzu germans her twice and wins.
Thoughts: I don't like Boz losing again but it was okay. They did a lot of brawling early on. Boz really got some air on the hurricanrana off the buckles spot and Suzu had to chop her down to get the win. It was fine but it did run a bit long.
They hug after. Boz says Suzu is a perfect leader and they shake hands and bow.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Quarter Final Red Stars Match - AZM vs. Hanan
They start off fast. Han is tripped and AZM goes for the pin. They each get pin attempts in. AZM pulls her off the 2nd rope with an armbar. AZM corner dropkicks her for 2. AZM stomps her. Han hits chest forearms and AZM dropkicks her.
AZM legsweeps her, chest kicks her and double stomps her. AZM is suplexed over the top. Han 2nd rope plancha's her. AZM tiger feints under the bottom rope and hurricanrana's her outside.
Han sweeps her on the apron then hits a bridging ddt on the floor. They trade forearms in the ring. Han leg lariats her then fameassers her for 2. Han cuty specials her for 2. AZM gets a 2 count on her and Han running back elbows her. AZM double stomps her then pulls Han's arms back. AZM buzzsaw kicks her for 2. AZM top rope diving double stomps her for 2.
Things slow down and Han runs into a high kick. AZM is on the 2nd rope and Han backdrops her down. AZM rolls her up for 2. Han does a pin attempt for 2. Han twisting ddt's her. AZM canadian destroyers her for 2. AZM cranks the arm back and taps her out.
Thoughts: They started off very fast and slowed down some as it went on. It wasn't boring and was full of action but it would have been nice if AZM did more to work the arm before submitting her with an armlock.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Quarter Final Blue Stars Match - Momo Watanabe vs. Ami Sourei
Ami knocks Momo over then hits chops. Ami machine gun chops her then splashes her on the ropes. Momo trips her into an ankle lock. Momo pulls Ami's leg around the the ropes then kicks the rope into her leg. Momo leglocks her.
They trade chops for leg kicks. Ami double chops her and torture racks her. Momo is put in reverse tree of woe then splashed. Ami running lariats her for 2. Momo suplexes her. Momo is put up top then Ami superplexes her.
Ami corner lariats her then suplexes her. Ami swats away high kicks then lariats her. Momo trips her into a leglock. Ami then ropebreaks. Ami goes up top and Momo's buddies grab her. Momo b-drivers her on the apron. Momo hits another b-driver in the ring for 2. Momo misses a high kick and Ami blue thunders her. Momo no sells it and buzzsaw kicks her. Momo kicks AZM in the face for 2. Ami blue thunders her for 2. Momo rolls her up off landslide ttempt then half and half suplexes her. Momo then does a wrist-clutch, half-nelson suplex and wins.
Thoughts: It was alright. They worked pretty well together. Momo worked the leg some early but forgot about it in the end. Ami did her usual chop and lariat focused offense here.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Quarter Final Red Stars Match - Bea Priestley vs. Rina
They lock up. BP clean breaks her and is spit on. BP backslides her for 2. BP forearms her down. Ri is tried up in the ropes and BP poses on her then embarasses her. BP kicks her in the back. BP knocks one of Ri's hair extensions off.
Ri cradles her off a suplex attempt for 2. Ri hip throws her then running facekicks her. Ri basement dropkicks her for 2. BP suplexes her. BP pumping knees her on the ropes for 2. Rina rolls her up for 2.
Rina headscissors her into an octopus. She then grounds her with it. Ri northern lights suplexes her and 2nd rope double knee drops her for 2. Ri misses a top rope double stomp then runs into BP's foot. BP 2nd rope double stomps her back then does a grounded sleeper.
Ri hits back elbows. BP superkicks her then Ri facekicks her down. BP hits a german. Ri hits forearms then abdominal stretch drivers her for 2. Ri top rope double knee drops her for 2. BP ddt's her then buzzsaw kicks her for 2. BP hits germans on her then Ri gori bombs her for 2. BP uranages her for 2. They roll each other up for 2 counts. Ri jack knifes her and pins her.
Thoughts: It went long. There wasn't much of a story to it or anything and they didn't lean that much into the face and heel work either. No one botched anything but it was an average match.
Akira Kurogane & Kikyo Furusawa vs. Ema Maishima & Yuria Hime
KF and Ema lock up. KF armlocks her then side headlocks her. Ema drops down and KF trips over her. Ema armdrags and dropkicks her. KF dropkicks Ema in the knee. Akira gets in. Ema hair throws her then Akira dropkicks her.
Akira hair throws her and calls for Hime to get in. Hime and Akira trade chest forearms and flurry each other. Akira russian legsweeps her for 2. Akira hits chops and forearms in the corner then basement dropkicks Hime. She goes for the pin but KF blind tagged in.
KF hits dropkicks on Hime then ankle locks her. KF rolls her up and ankle locks her but Hime ropebreaks. Akira dropkicks Hime then KF headscissors rolls Hime into a leglock. KF ankle locks her and Ema breaks it up.
KF takes a double dropkick then Hime leg lariats her. Hime does a reverse pedgiree and hits the devil's kiss. Hime then headscissors her. Hime pulls on both arms while doing it and taps out KF.
Thoughts: I liked it. It was short and aggressive. Akira was really great here showing total hate for Hime. It was a fun tag and left me wanting more.
Akira goes after Hime post-match.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Semi Final Blue Stars Match - Saori Anou vs. Suzu Suzuki
SA step up enzugiri's her and germans her for 2. SA top rope dropkicks her three times for a 2 count. SA dragon suplexes her. Suzu drops down and headkicks her. Suzu then PK's her. Suzu knees her on the ropes and running facekicks her.
Suzu drive by kicks SA on the apron. They fight on the apron. Suzu hits a big forearm then piledrivers her on the apron. Suzu sends SA into the seats outside. SA fisherman suplexes her on the floor then Suzu running knees her. They trade forearms on their knees and then get up and trade. They both take their gloves off and hit forearms. SA step up enzugiri's her and fisherman suplexes her. Suzu no sells it and buzzsaw kicks her.
Suzu goes up top and gets hit. SA hurricanrana's her off the top. SA then hooks the leg and does an armbar. Suzu germans her then SA germans her back. They then each hit more germans. Suzu alley oops her into the buckles then germans her. Suzu tequila shot's her for 2. Suzu germans her for 2.
SA escapes a german and does a backslide into a bridge pin to win.
Thoughts: There was a fair bit of no selling various germans here which I didn't like. I also don't like Suzu doing apron piledrivers that are meaningless. But, they were stiff and aggressive with each other and that's the kind of wrestling I like. There were a lot of hard shots and bumps here and I still liked it despite its issues.
They shake hands after and Suzu slaps her.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Semi Final Red Stars Match - AZM vs. Saya Kamitani
Saya running boots her in the corner and throws her out. AZM is thrown into the seats outside. Saya throws stuff at her outside then sits in a chair inside waiting for her. Suzu dropkicks her off the apron and springboard crossbodies her.
Saya dropkicks her off the buckles then stomps her. Saya puts her foot in AZM's head on the ropes. Saya does a sharpshooter while holding the arm. AZM hits chest forearms then Saya forearms her down. AZM headkicks her while she hangs over the apron.
AZM PK's Saya then 2nd rope double stomps her on the floor. AZM top rope dropkicks her and Saya does a weird sell on it. AZM tries to slide under her and is double stomped. AZM traps Saya's leg and germans her then Saya dropkicks her.
They go head to head and AZM hits chest forearms. Saya goes for a spinning heel kick but AZM counters it with an armbar. AZM top rope double stomps her for 2. Saya drops her with a big forearm then she northern lights suplexes her for 2. Saya gets a 2 count then spinning high kicks her. Saya corkscrew kicks AZM's back for 2.
AZM canadian destroyers her then rolls her up for 2. Saya corkscrew kicks her. AZM high kicks her for 2. Saya rolls her into a blue thunder for 2. Saya ki krushers her for 2. AZM la mistica drops her. AZM gets a 2 count on a roll up then rolls her up again and wins.
Thought: It was a good match with a super hot crowd. They had a lot of fast paced action here and both took a beating. They could have done some things better thought like making the canadian destroyer mean more and I didn't like that slide into the double stomp spot. The match was what you would hope it would be.
Saya beats her up after and they grab each other by the hair.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Semi Final Blue Stars Match - Sareee vs. Momo Watanabe
Momo comes out first, waits for Sare then forearms her down in the aisle. Sare is sent into the seats. Sare's head is banged off the bleachers. Momo then foot chokes Sare. Momo eye rakes her in the ring and throws her out. Momo is sent into the seats and Sare throws a chair at her.
Momo's head is banged off the East sign. Sare gets booed for it. Sare and Momo's seconds then fight and get involved. Sare is sent into the seats. Momo boots her around and foot chokes her. Momo PK's her for 2 and Sare low dropkicks her. Sare hits mounted forearms and a headbutt.
Sare stomps Momo and stands on her back. Sare chest forearms her and they trade forearms. Sare hits chest shots then takes a forearm flurry to the head. Sare slaps her and hits more chest forearms.
Momo chest kicks her down. Sare dropkicks her against the ropes then dropkicks her through the ropes. Sare top rope dropkicks her for 2. Sare step up enzugiri's her. Momo high kicks her. They fight on the buckles then Sare superplexes her. Sare 2nd rope double stomps her.
Sare germans her and Momo no sells it. Momo cradle tombstones her for 2. Sare crucifix bombs her for 2. Sare hits a headbutt flurry. Konami trips Sare from the outside. Momo PK's Sare. Sare then runs at her and armbars her down. Momo ropebreaks.
Sare octopuses her. The girls seconds get in the ring and fight while Sare keeps the hold on. Sare double stomps her then top rope double stomps her for 2. Momo holds her arm and hits chest kicks. Momo then curb stomps and punts Sare. Momo buzzsaw kicks her for 2. Momo forearms her and Sare hits a nasty uranage. The ref is pulled out on the pin. Konami comes in and germans Sare. Momo swings a bat at Sare and takes another uranage. Ruaka hits Momo witha box on accident then throws a box in. The ref gets grabbed by Ruaka. Momo chairs Sare then does a half and half suplex for 2.
Momo hits a wrist-clutch half-nelson suplex then holds on for another for the upset win.
Thoughts: The two matched up well together and the crowd was super hot again. Sare didn't get cheered but she dealt with it a bit better than she had on previous nights. It was a good stiff battle and Momo winning added to it. Both took a beating here with lots of suplexes on their necks.
Momo laughs on the mic after and taunts Sareee. Konami then gets on the mic. Sareee then talks to them and gets booed again. Konami ends up hitting Saree and sprays her in the face with spray paint. Konami then rubs a photo in her face. Saree then does a rough throws, gets headscissored and Konami is pulled off. They appear to agree to a title match.
5STAR Grand Prix 2025 Semi Final Red Stars Match - Natsupoi vs. Rina
This is maybe the biggest match of Rina's career, so we will see how she fares.
They each avoid shots early. Ri offers a handshake. Ri slaps her hand away and spits at her. Ri then hair throws her. Poi hair throws her back. Poi basement dropkicks Ri for 2.
Poi spin kicks her in the gut and headhunters her. Poi dropkicks her through the ropes. Poi goes up top and Rinathrows her down hard to the apron. Ri then double knee drops her off the apron. Ri pulls Poi's arm around the ropes and spits at the ref.
Poi is sent into the post. Poi superkicks Ri then Poi's arm is chaired against the post. Poi superkicks her on the apron then germans her on the apron. Poi top rope plancha's Ri outside. Poi misses a cartwheel splash off the top and Ri basement dropkicks her.
Ri reverse suplexes her then runs into Poi's superkick. Ri hits some slaps on her. Poi hits a big one and they slap each other. They then slap each other at the same time. Ri running facekicks her for 1.
Poi germans her for 1. They trade forearms. Ri northern lights suplexes her for 2. Ri STO's her then 2nd rope double knee drops her. Ri top rope double knee drops her for 2. Ri does a grounded octopus. Poi la magistral's her but Ri turns it into a pin attempt. Poi release germans her then spin kicks her in the face for 2.
Poi top rope cartwheel splashes Ri for 2. Ri backslides her and does a jack knife pin. Ri gori bombs her. Poi escapes a gori bomb and rolls her up for 2. Rina abdominal stretch bombs her for 2. Rina grounded octopuses her. Ri then grabs the leg as well. Poi I guess submits and Rina wins.
Thoughts: The two matches before this were really good so it was going to be hard to live up to it. Rina did a lot of knee drops in the first half and stuck to the octopus in the finishing stretch. They did some okay stuff here but I didn't think it was great. It was okay enough though. Rina winning kind of was a surprise but they were clearly pushing her all tournament long so it was believeable that she could win.
Rina talks on the mic after and does Poi's "Bye Poi" taunt. The winners of all the blocks come out and Rina has words for them. Momo then talks on the mic as does Anou. Momo isn't impressed. AZM has words for Rina. Rina then closes the show on the mic.
Overall thoughts: It was Stardom at it's best here. They had a super hot crowd all night long which made everything feel big time and the girls really put some work in while not going too crazy. There was only one somewhat weak match here and that wasn't even that bad. AZM/Saya and Anou/Suzu were the best matches on the show with the Momo/Saree match not far behind. The main was fine too and I really liked the Yuria Hime tag. I'm giving this a rare 10/10 as they hit the ball out the park here and provided a classic show that felt like we were back in the All Japan Women's days. Go check this one out.
