WWE Monday Night Raw 5/10/2021

Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke and Asuka vs Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler and Charlotte Flair

Rose is splashed in the corner by Nia to start. The faces dropkick all the heels. Reg gets on the apron and backflips off of it when the girls come after him then we have a 6 woman argument. Alexa Bliss' music plays and she is riding a swing that somehow magically appeared. Bliss says she and Lilly the doll wanted to keep an eye on someone.

We go to break and return with Flair putting a headscissors on Rose. Rose kind of fights back and Nia picks her up and just randomly drops her so she can tag out. Dana gets in and hits a bad hot tag then cartwheel elbows SB. Dana gets backbreaked by SB then SB does this weird sell of her leg giving out. Asuka gets in and shining wizards her and wins it in a bizarre finish to a nothing match.

Flair boots Asuka in the face after. Bliss laughs at what just happened and they have the doll makihg laughing sounds too.

Riddle and the New Day talk in the back. Riddle says their registration form for RKBro is almost done and Kofi says it is not so commonly known that this form has to be filled out. No kidding. It's the first I've heard of it in 30 years of WWE TV. The New Day talk about hitting Omos in the head with a donut and tomato. Riddle then talks about how funny it was that Orton got hit with a tomato then it is revealed that Orton is behind Riddle. TND tries to suck up but Riddle says it was funny. Riddle says he finds kicking people in the head and setting things on fire to be funny. They then say they will "ketch-up" with Orton later and they all laugh.

MVP goes up to Braun in the back and he tells him to leave. MVP wants to discuss business. MVP says if Bobby had to lose the title, he'd rather lose it to Braun. MVP says if Drew was too injured to wrestle after tonight, he couldn't be in the triple threat. Braun says he really doesn't like him.

Pearce, Miz, Morrison and Priest talk in the back. Morrison has "drip" written in his hair and Priest has an idet to make his match with Morrison more interesting. Priest says if John beats him tonight, he can pick the stip for the PPV match with Miz and Priest and says if he loses, Miz/Morrison can pick the stip. Miz doesn't like this idea then Morrison accepts it while Miz talks about why he doesn't like it. Miz isn't pleased.

Jinder Mahal does a promo. He says he is excited to be back and introduces us to Veer and Shanky, his new crew who he brought out on Main Event this week.

Jinder Mahal with Veer and Shanky vs Jeff Hardy

This match happened on Main Event last week already. Jeff charges at Jinder early and takes a big boot. Mahal suplexes him and works him from behind. Hardy comes back with a double axe handle off the 2nd rope and Jinder hits a jumping knee off a twist of fate attempt. Jinder then cobra clutch slams Hardy for the win in a very basic and lame match.

Sonya is talking to Charlotte Flair in the back.

Elias and Ryker talk in the back. They have rotten tomatoes and plan to hit the New Day and Riddle. AJ Styles and Omos go up to them and elias has a song to honor them teaming together. AJ says no tomatoes and no song and talks about his new goatee. AJ says we need to take the match a little more serious and Omos breaks a tomato saying this will be their opponents. AJ says "we hate tomatoes" and leaves.

The New Day, Matt Riddle and Randy Orton vs Elias, Jaxson Ryker, AJ Styles and Omos

We're 52 minutes into the show and we're only on our 3rd match. Where does the time go?

Riddle tries to armbar Elias early but Elias hits the ropes. Omos tags himself in and Riddle tries some punches but is thrown. Riddle tries to kick him and gets flipped, Woods gets booted down and Kofi gets a headbutt. Orton and Omos stare down but Orton rolls out.

We go to break and return with Elias pounding on Riddle. AJ gets in and is rolled up then frogsplashed by Kofi as he stands. Woods hits a top rope dropkick on Elias then is spinebustered down by AJ. Woods then gets spinebustered by Elias and then takes a nother one soon after.

Ryker then gets in and tries to hold off Woods from a tag, then Woods takes a 3rd spinebuster. Woods finally gets a tag in and Riddle exploders Ryker. Riddle hits a broderek on Elias but Omos breaks it up. Riddle tries to come off the 2nd rope on Omos but gets knocked down. New Day grab AJ by the legs outside and run around him then Orton RKO's Elias for the win. This wasn't anything special and whatever the New Day were doing with AJ's legs were very weird.

The New Day try to celebrate with Orton but he RKO's them both. Riddle gets mad at him for it, saying how can he have friends if he does sutff like this? Orton then leaves. Orton RKO'ing the New Day was based and it would have been even better if he RKO'd Riddle.

Rhea and Asuka go up to Sonya in the back. They want to fight but Sonya says they will resolve this peacefully. She announces a match between tonight and Rhea accuses Charlotte of giving Sonya the idea for this. Asuka said she already wrestled tonight but will do it again because she is ready for Rhea. Rhea says she will beat her tonight and Charlotte on Sunday.

 

Bobby Lashley and MVP get interviewed in the back. MVP calls Kevin Patrick disrespectful for interrupting them in the dressing room. MVP says Bobby proved he was already the better man at Mania and this will be the sequel tonight. MVP is asked about his deal with Braun and says he won't comment on it since it is ongoing and tells him to leave.

Sheamus vs Humberto Carrillo

Sheamus said he showed he was the baddest fella on the planet by brogue kicking Carillo and Mansoor. Sheamus mocked Pearce's idea of him giving out US title shots each week. He said you have to earn a shot at his title shot and said neither of them are on his level. Sheamus tells Humberto to come out and get his now.

Sheamus blocks a hip toss and clubs him in the back early. Humberto springboard armdrags him and dropkicks him out. Humberto tries to baseball slide him but is pulled out and thrown over the barricade into another barricade.

We go to break and return with Sheamus in control. Sheamus clubs HC's chest and gives him the dublin smile. Sheamus alabama slams him for 2. Sheamus gets on the middle rope with HC on his shoulders then HC gets off to hurricanrana him down.  HC then sunset bombs Sheamus to the outside with Sheamus getting a knee hard right into the spine.

The match was then stopped. The ref raised Sheamus' hand somehow and HC is being checked on by a nurse. This wasn't anything special and the odd ending didn't help it.

Lucha House Party got a video package/promo. they say life isn't always a party but they are here to show off and show up. They say they are always "lucha lit".

 

We get a package with Eva Marie on a car asking if she has our attention. She says this is Eva-Lution and wants to inspire other people to pursue their goals.

Cedric Alexander vs Shelton Benjamin

Cedric pushes him to start and hits a high dropkick that almost went over Shelton's head. SB gets his knee dragon screwed on the ropes. Cedric kicks at SB's leg and rolls him into a leg lock. Shelton turns it into a sharpshooter but Cedric hits the ropes.

Cedric dropkicks him out of the ring then tope's him. Cedric tries it again but Shelton jumping knees him off the apron. Cedric handspring enzugiri's Shelton and yells at him, saying he is better. He tells the announcers to say he is the best. Shelton hits an exploder out of nowhere and wins it in a night of bizarre and sudden finishes.

Angel Garza is doing a photoshoot then Drew Gulak comes up to him. He asks if AG has any respect for this buisness? He said AG embarrassed and humiliated him and AG doesn't care. AG says next time, he will shove his rose down Gulak's throat.

 

Asuka vs Rhea Ripley

Rhea blocks a backfist and clocks her. Rhea hits some stomps on Asuka then Asuka flying armbars her, but Rhea hits the ropes. Asuka tries to hip attack Rhea while she is laying the apron but Rhea moves. Charlotte Flair then comes out. Rhea gets distracted and backfisted and we go to break.

After break, Charlotte is at the booth and Rhea dropkicks Asuka. Rhea hits some kicks on Asuka's back They botch a codebreaker then Rhea highkicks Asuka. Asuka sliding knee's Rhea on the apron. Asuka and Flair stare each other down then Rhea headbutts Asuka. Rhea then northern lights suplexes Asuka for 2.

Asuka codebreakers Rhea then Rhea and Charlotte argued. Asuka came off the commentary booth and knee'd Rhea then she dropkicked her off the top for 2. Rhea hits another high kick then riptides her for the win. This wasn't too bad but I thought Asuka went down easy here.

 

Kevin Patrick interviews Drew. Drew said he had no choice but to get involved last week. He said he is toast if Braun and Bobby try to take him out. He said he will become champ again on Sunday.

Winner picks the stipulation to Miz vs Priest - John Morrison with The Miz vs Damien Priest

Priest pounds on Jomo in the corner and hits a big side slam. Jomo does some weird takedown that Priest falls on him for then Jomo does some capoiera into a knee. Jomo handstand knees him then goes up top and tries to roll with DP's help but takes an odd tumble down. Then he gets a pop-up into a punch. Miz and DP argue on the outside as we go to break.

Back from break and DP hits a jumping back elbow. Jomo lariats DP over the top then Miz cheapshots DP. Morrison does a headlock russian legsweep and flips over DP's back to pull on his neck. DP comes back with a jumping elbow then throws him on a flacon arrow for 2. Jomo flips himself off of the 2nd rope and lands on his stomach then Priest spinning heel kicks Jomo from the top for 2.

Jomo reverses a chokeslam with a pin attempt but DP gets out. Miz gets on the apron and accidentally prevents a Jomo pin. Jomo then takes a big lariat and a cross rhodes for the win. This was long and not particularly good. I'm really tired of this feud as it has been going on for months.

Miz pounds on DP after and Miz runs away on a big kick. DP then cross rhodes' Jomo.

We get another Eva Marie promo. She says she has made it and says she is a role model. She says anything is possible and life is not picture perfect.

Adam Pearce is wearing glasses in the back and Damien Priest goes up to him. DP says he wants a lumberjack match so he has nowhere to run.

Drew McIntyre vs Bobby Lashley

Bobby puts Drew in a headlock to start. Bobby pulls Drew's neck over the rope then corner spears him. We see Braun watching in the back as Bobby keeps control. Drew then started pounding on Bobby but Bobby returned it with hard forearms. Drew then belly to belly suplexed Bobby on the floor. We then go to break.

Back from break and Drew is chopping Bobby. Drew sits on the top rope and is pulled off of it, then takes a flatliner. Drew hits a big delayed suplex on Bobby but Bobby gets up and boots him soon after. Drew stands on the apron and takes a hard fall down as Bobby rams him.

Bobby puts Drew on his shoulders and rams his head into the post. Bobby charges at Drew again and is flipped into the buckles. They trade shots and Drew belly to belly suplexes him twice. Drew then neckbreakers him and kips up before hitting a spinebuster. Drew charges at Bobby then gets a crossbody.

Bobby goes for the hurt lock but ends up fisherman suplexing him. Braunb then comes in and nails Drew before powerslamming him. Braun shakes Bobby's hand after and powerslams him too. Drew then gets another powerslam.

MVP Tries to hit Braun with his cane but gets stopped then Braun powerslams Lashley through a barricade. Braun grabs Drew by the head and says he is the boss then he powerslams him. 

Drew wins via DQ here and it wasn't bad. I don't think it was their best work but they did some different stuff than usual though the finish was lame.

Overall thoughts: Not a good episode of Raw with tons of random finishes and finishes with interference. If this was supposed to excite me for the PPV, it did the opposite.
