WWE Main Event Episode #449 5/5/2021

Mustafa Ali vs Ricochet

Ric dropkicks him to start and they go outside. Ali chops him out there. Ric springboard clotheslines him for 2. Ric does corner punches to him and then gets reverse electric chair dropped out of the corner.

Ric gets put in a single leg crab but hits the ropes. Ali ties up Ric's leg in the rope and ring apron and stomps him. Ali tries to splash the leg from the top but Ric moves. Ric shooting star presses a standing Ali in a cool spot.

Ric hits some strikes then does a huge lariat and a dragon suplex. Ali tries to pin Ric with his feet on the ropes but Ric turns it around and pins him by grabbing the ropes.

Credit to them for trying here and doing some neat stuff when they didn't have to. It wasn't great and the finish was kind of odd.

Jeff Hardy vs Jinder Mahal

Speaking of odd, this is an odd one. Veer and Shanky are here with Jinder. They were on the Superstar Spectacular, which I covered here: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/01/wwe-superstar-spectacle-1262021.html

Shanky's a tall young dude. Jinder superkicks Jeff early and knees him in the back. We are told Jinder was out for a year with a knee injury. Jinder dangerously throws Jeff over the top. We go to break and return with Jinder in control. Jinder suplexes him for 2.

Jeff hits a chin breaker and mounts a comeback. Jeff then does his legdrop to the gut on Jinder. Shanky's paint on his head is blurred out for some reason. Jeff goes for whisper in the wind but Jinder ducks and he misses hard. Jinder then running knees him. Jinder then wins it with a cobra clutch slam as his mouth bleeds.

This wasn't anything too special. It was cut short by a commercial and they didn't work that great together.

Overall thoughts: As usual, it's WWE Main Event and nothing here was must see. The only real thing of note was Shanky and Jeer's debut as Jinder's seconds.
