AEW Dynamite 1/14/2026 Maximum Carnage

We are in Phoenix, Arizona.

We see a Samoa Joe promo from earlier. He says Page is a fool and keeps trying to win back his title. Joe says him and The Opps have to defend their trios titles so he put a bounty on Page. He says the bounty has been posted and Bryan Keith comes in. Bryan says Page beat him years ago like he stole something. Bryan says he will steal something back and will make it personal tonight. He then tells him to pay up.

Pac vs Darby Allin

Pac tells The Death Riders he will do this by himself.

DA topes Pac against the rail before he enters. He sends him over the rail. DA rakes Pac's face on the rail and hits him in the stairs. They fight in the aisle and Pac is sent into a wall. DA dropkicks him. DA coffin drops him off a wall.

Pac runs from DA. He sends DA into the rails and germans him on the floor. Pac belly to belly suplexes him into the steps. The match then officially begins (lol). Pac running lariats him for 2.  Pac flips him off a back body drop. Pac germans him for 2. We go to PiP break and return.

They fight on the buckles and Pac is knocked down. DA top rope dropkicks him. DA spingboard back elbows him. DA shotgun dropkicks him into the buckles. Pac is belly to belly suplexed into the buckles. Pac top rope belly to belly suplexes him. Pac throws him with a razor's edge onto the ramp. 

Pac stands on the buckles, jumps down and holds his ankle. DA pounds on him and Pac goes out. DA top rope coffin drops him outside. DA top rope coffin drops him on the apron but lands hard himself on the apron.

DA running back elbows Pac. Pac pulls the ref in front of him and DA nails the  ref. DA sharpshooters him. Yuta comes in the ring and DA dropkicks a chair into him. DA reverse ddt's Yuta then Pac. DA pillmanizes the ankle with a chair by doing a coffin drop on it. DA sharpshooters him and Pac submits.

Thoughts: I hated this. I never liked the "match doesn't start until the bell rings" trope House of Torture always did in NJPW and I didn't like it here. Darby didn't sell squat in this as he got suplexed on the floor, into steps and off the top yet was moving along just did fine later off in the match. Darby also looked like he hurt himself off the coffin drop to the apron. This was totally indy.

Bryan Keith vs Adam Page

Bryan rarely ever wins so I don't know why Joe would want him as a bounty hunter. He also already lost to Page.

Page hits punches and BK running facekicks him. BK hits chops. Page boots him away then running facekicks him. Page hits forearms in the corner. Page lariats him from behind on the apron. Page slingshot plancha's him. Page lariats him outside and pounds on him. 

Page chops him in the ring and spinning forearms him. Big Bill trips Page. BK headbutts Page. BK pounds on him in the corner and rakes his face. We go to PiP break and return.

BK trips Page into the buckles and knees him in the face. BK exploders him for 2. Page fallaway slams him. Page drops him with lariats and forearms. Page sliding lariats BK for 2. BK rolls him up for 2. BK then overhead suplexes him into the buckles for 2. Page lariats him. Big Bill tries to trip Page on the apron. Bill grabs Page and Swerve Strickland comes down and uses a chain on Bill. Page buckshot lariats BK and pins him.

Thoughts: Page got the win as expected here. It was fine and they did a lot of strikes in this. 

Page gets on the mic after and tells BK to try and collect his bounty now. Page says Samoa Joe wasn't man enough to fight him so he hired Bryan Keith. He says he will take everything from Joe. Swerve says him and Page are coming after MJF. Swerve says his 2026 resolution is to get back on top of the mountain and to make this Swerve's house.

Kenny Omega comes out. Kenny says 3 of the greatest challengers for the AEW Title are standing in the ring right now. He says he thinks all 3 of them have something to prove. He says if the fans still believe then he believes. He says he has to win a couple of matches first before going for the title. He says he's going for the belt whether it's friend or foe. Page says there's 3 of them who want the title. Page says if they cross paths on the way to the title, may the best man win. They then shake hands.

Page and Swerve leave. Kenny stays in the ring. Don Callis comes out with Lance Archer, Rocky Romero and Josh Alexander. Don says he's always been a big fan of MJF. Don says he has to question his logic of even thinking of associating with a scumbag like Kenny. He says Kenny's back and wants the title and has to win matches. He says if he wants to wrestle, he should wrestle the man who broke Ibushi's leg in Josh Alexander. 

Kenny says he does have to win matches and beat some of the best in AEW. Kenny says he has time tonight and says he's willing to make his record look sparkly clean for the title. Don says Kenny does what daddy says and says he will face Josh next week on Dynamite, because what he says goes. 

Kenny says unfortunately it will have to be next week but they say phase 1 of him becoming champ again. He then does his line and leaves.

Brody King is interviewed in the back. Jon Cruz goes up to him. Jon tells King to tell Bandido to never touch him or punch him again. King says they have a stand by match and says he will do it. He says he will see him soon.

Brody King vs Jon Cruz

Jon throws shoes at him. Jon crossbodies him and bounces off of BK. BK chops him down. Jon comes off the top and is hit with a forearm. BK hits an over the shoulder piledriver and wins.

Thoughts: I don't really get what these stand-by matches are about. It was a very quick squash as expected.

King says he wants Bandido to beat MJF's @ss tonight. 

#1 Contender's Match - The Don Callis Family (Jake Doyle and Mark) Davis vs Jetspeed (Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight) vs The Gates of Agony (Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun) vs The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson)

Ricochet is on commentary. The Bucks dive on Jake and Mark to start. Jetspeed does stereo topes out. Jetspeed and The Bucks then do dives out. Those two teams then fight. The Bucks miss elbow drops then all 4 try dropkicks at the same time. Jake slams Kevin. Jake/Mark and GoA square off. Jetspeed hits stereo top rope dropkicks on them. They do a chicken fight spot and a Buck and Mike do stereo spinning ddt's from it. 

A Buck is caught on a tope con hilo. Jetspeed are caught on plancha's. A Buck then flip dives over Jetspeed onto an opponent.A Buck and Kevin hit stereo corner punches. Their partners then do it. Jake and Mark run into each other then take double superkicks.  Jake and Mark then both powerbomb 2 people at once. 

Kaun lariats Jake over the top and goes with him. Toa does an apron moonsault. Toa throws a Buck into the rails and apron edge. Toa then corner lariats Kevin over the rail. We go to PiP break and return.

Kevin tries to jumping lariat Jake but is bodyblocked. Mark germans Mike. A Buck sends Mark and Jake into each other. A Buck is then popped up into a double dropkick on them. Mark is double lariated over the top. A Buck flips into a cutter on Mark on the floor. A Buck then springboard splashes Mark for 2.

Kaun boots Kevin in the corner. The heels take 4 stereo superkicks. The faces then all do top rope moves on them at the same time. Kevin takes a double superkick. Mike does a standing moonsault double knee on a Buck and Kevin springboard lariats a Buck. Jake is dropkicked out. GoA take a superkick from a Buck. A Buck is held in the air for a cutter. The other Buck takes a dropkick and a corner hip attack. The GoA then hit a t-gimmick on a Buck. Mike hits an ultimate weapon on multiple people. Kevin hits a top rope frgosplash on Toa for 2.

Mike and Kaun take double Buck superkicks. Toa takes superkicks from The Bucks. Mike takes a double stomp into a sitout powerbomb for 2. Kevin takes a BTE trigger. Ricochet pulls the ref out on the pin attempt. Jack Perry then dives on Ricochet out of nowhere. The Bucks do stereo plancha's on GoA. Mike spin kicks Jake in the face then corkscrew kicks  Mark. Mike's top rope diivng hurricanrana is caught and he is powerbombed onto people outside. Mark piledrivers Kevin and pins him.

Thoughts: It was all spots and action here. The Bucks and Jetspeed were oddly working together for most of this. I was surprise to see Mark and Jake win this. There were some cool spots here and I guess I was alright with this.

FTR come out and hold up their titles at Mark and Jake. They all then fight. Officials try to break it up.  

Skyflight do a promo. Zayda Steel complains about Marina Shafir jumping her. Dante says they know The Don Callis Family operates. They say Kyle Fletcher isn't ready and says Josh Alexander is not ready for their athleticism. Sky says they should worry about what's now instead of what's next. 

Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron vs The Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue)

Thek avoids Kris and tags out to start. Kris takes down Hart. Hart wristlocks her. Kris rolls and cartwheels then side headlocks her.  Kris backdrops her. Harley is dropped onto Hart for 2. Hart boots Harley then Harley high kicks her. Harley slingblades her.

Willow slams Hart. Willow drops Harley onto Hart for 2. Willow step up enzugiri's Skye then hits corner lariats. Skye gets on her back and is thrown down. Skye takes running shots from the faces. Skye forearms Harley then Harley high kicks her. Harley is tripped into the ropes and is booted in the head by Thek. Sky does a bad springboard facebuster/cutter on Harley.

We go to PiP break and return. Thek pulls on Harley's mouth. Harley forearms her. Harley does a terrible facebuster that doesn't connect. Kris catches Hart off the buckles and backbreakers her. Skye is catapulted into the buckles. Kris running euros Thek and running corner knees her. Kris hits a ki krusher on Thek for 2.

Kris powerbombs an opponent then Skye spinning ddt's Kris. Willow spinebusters Skye. Harley codebreakers Thek. Thek takes a double team drop on her chest then a backpack senton. Harley is superkicked then takes an assisted uranage. Kris hits a double lariat. Willow lariats Thek. 

Thek hurricanrana's Willow and forearms her. Thek spears Kris. Thek curbstomps Kris and pins her.

Thoughts: It wasn't good. Harley had a very bad night here and had so many messy moments. There was a ton of things going on here and I felt it was a bit long. Thek is no doubt Willow's next challenger now.

Jetspeed are interviewed in the back. Swerve comes up to them and says he loves them. Swerve says him and Mike tore it up all around the world. He says hwen he was champ, he brought up Kevin's name. He says Kevin is the future of the business and says the time is coming. Adam Page comes in. He says they lost the chance to challenge for the tag titles but not the trios titles. Page says he told Joe he would take everything from him. He says they will see Joe on Saturday.

We get a video saying The Rascalz are coming to AEW. I don't really don't think AEW needs them and think they mostly be on Collision and ROH once the new car smell wears off. AEW just has so many people that bring the same things to the table that they do.

AEW World Title - MJF (c) vs Bandido

Band has some new kind of dragon outfit with a sword for his entrance.

Band rolls him up for 2 to start. MJF shoulders Band over. Band drops down and MJF struts. Band tilt-a-whirl armdrags him. Band corkscrew headscissors him for 2. Band legsweeps him. MJF eye rakes him. Band gorilla press slams him. Band topes MJF outside. MJF pulls bands throat over the top rope then top wristlocks him. MJF does like a reverse sitout slam on him.

Band is crotched up top then MJF throws him down. MJF gyrates. Band hits forearms. Band then dances and hits MJF. Band rolls him up for 2. Band tries to handspring and is dropkicked. MJF shoulderbreakers him. MJF arm whips him into the buckles for 2.

We go to PiP break and return. MJF suplexes Band twice. Band hits forearms and MJF hits him in the arm. Band suplexes him. Band spinning ddt's MJF. Band one-arm gorilla press slams him. MJF 2nd rope double stomps Band's arm. Band tope con hilos him. MJF takes a break over the rail. Band top rope dives him over the rail.

Band top rope tornillo's him for 2. Band poisonrana's him. Band spin kicks him then code red's him for 2. MJF blocks a 21plex. MJF facekicks him. Band slingshots and is caught with a cutter for 2. 

Band enzugiri's MJF from the apron. Band top rope ssp's MJF for 2.  MJF escapes a 21plex. MJF cradles him for 2. They trade pin attempts. Band hits a reverse GTS. Band then hits a 21plex. MJF armbars him then doe a crossface. MJF submits him.

Thoughts: It was a good match. Band did his flying and his usual offense. MJF mostly worked the arm and eventually won with a submission targeting it. They had a fasted paced match and the the two worked well together. MJF won as expected.

MJF gets on the mic after. He says he laughed when they said Band would be an AEW World champ. He says they are right and he will be one someday. He says it means he has to do this - he then hits him with the belt and pounds on him. Bordy King then saves Band and MJF runs.

Overall thoughts: The show went about 2 hours and 11 minutes. It was your usual in-ring focused show. The main was good and the best thing on here. The women's trios match had a lot of sloppy moments and wasn't that good. The 4-way was all cool moves and action and mostly worked. Page/Bryan Keith wasn't bad. The opener wasn't good at all with Darby taking his usual awful beating and none of it meaning much at all. I'd give this a 6 out of 10 and thought it was decent overall.
