The rookies are working on evolving as a character today.

Shawn Michaels talks to the rookies and coaches. Elijah isn't wearing a shirt and Bubba says Elijah will not wear a shirt for the rest of the season. Shawn says he wouldn't wear a shirt if he looked like that either. Shawn says they want to see something different. He says you must evolve a character to survive in the business and says they want to see something new from the rookies. 

Booker says Sirena needs to be an aggressive heel. Bubba said Zena should try a powerslam move they were working on. Bubba tries to get Sirena to act like a heel. He says cool moves don't make him hate her. Booker says Bubba knows his stuff and he trusts Bubba to teach Sirena. Sirena says Bubba just p!ssed her off.

Booker works with Penina and Tatyanna. Tat wants to show that the person she used to be is no longer here. Booker says it's about finding a move Tat can do 10 out of 10 times.

McCool says Anthony Luke is trying to get away from being The Rock. Luke says Booker was an inspiration and he used to wear gloves like Booker. He says he wants to wear gloves. Chris says he got rid of his vest. Elijah wants new gear and wants to do a flying shoulder out of the spear. Shiloh says he put his tooth back in.

Sirena Linton vs Zena Sterling

SL has a new red top and skirt. We go to break and return. SL gets in her face and yells at her. She piefaces her. They lock up and SL kicks her in the back then wristlocks her. Zena snapmares her and armlocks her. Zena then rolls her up for 2.

Zena armdrags and armlocks her. SL side headlocks her then Zena rolls her into a pin attempt. Zena grabs the leg and SL boots her away then kips up. Zena tries a rebound lariat then armdrags her into an armlock.

Zena armlocks her. SL hits boots in the corner. SL bronco busters her and grabs her by the chin. SL bulldogs her. SL split leg drops Zena off the bottom rope. SL gets on her back with a chinlock and pulls her arms back. They double clothesline each other.

Zena hits lariats then backsplashes her. Zena hits gutwrench powerslam and throws her down. SL rolls her up and pins her.

Thoughts: SL wasn't too bad as a heel but she didn't look good at all. She's really limited, she's a bit sloppy and just not super strong. Zena got a little better towards the end but it was a basic and not so interesting match. 

Tatyanna Dumas vs Penina Tuilaepa

PT slams her then side headlocks her. PT shoulders her over. Tat backslides her then armdrags her. PT slams her while in an armlock but Tat holds on. PT samoan drops her for 2. PT hits corner spears. Tat's head is banged off the buckles. PT chinlocks her.

Tat leapfrogs her and PT hits a big spear to win.

Thoughts: It was short and simple. The only big moves here were a spear and a slam from PT. Nobody botched anything though or looked bad. 

Anthony Luke vs Chris Island

Luke does indeed have gloves on. CI goes for the leg and Luke backs off. Luke knees hims in the gut then side headlocks him. Luke shoulders him over then side headlock takeovers him.

CI does a side headlock takeover. Luke backdrops him then CI cradles him for 2. CI rolls him up for 2. CI misses a kick on the ropes and is clipped. Luke pulls CI's leg around the ropes then Luke knee drops CI's leg. Luke does a toe hold and CI boots him away.

Luke powerslams him then half-crabs him. CI upkicks Luke. CI hits punches then criss-crosses and shoulders him. CI back elbows him then monkey flips him. Luke clips him from behind then does a backdrop into a uranage and wins.

Thoughts: I liked it. It was the best both guys have done yet. CI showed some fire and moved well and Luke was very smooth and made it look so easy. They also did tie the leg into the finish some here as Luke clipped it before dropping him.

Luke says he lead him to a great match after.

Bubba tells Taker he has a spot in mind for tonight's Elijah vs Shiloh match. 

Elijah Holyfield vs Shiloh Hill

This one is in front of a real crowd. Hill side headlocks him then shoulders him over. We get some Eli chants and Eli hiptosses him. Eli side slams him for 2.

They trade waistlocks. Eli is pulled into the corner face first and Hill lariats him. Hill swinging neckbreakers him for 2. Hill double throat thrusts him then hits a backdrop into a neckbreaker for 2.

Eli punches him in the gut hard then flying shoulders him. Eli slams him then spinebusters him for 2. Hill hits a double underhook twisting drop and wins.

Thoughts: It was a shorter one but it was a power match and everything looked good here. It wasn't much but them doing big power moves and it worked out as well as it could have. I just wish they got more time as they were doing well.

Bubba asks if Taker was going to pick Elijah in the 2nd round. Taker said he had had to take Hill and said it hurt when Bubba picked Elijah. Elijah says he was shocked to hear a big pop.

The coaches award points. McCool gives Penina a point. Booker says Sirena stepped up and gives her a point. Taker says Zena is the one to beat and she says she needs to be prepared for it. Taker says everyone wants a shot and Sirena will get his vote. Bubba gives Sirena a point.

Taker says Elijah gets his vote. Booker says something has to change for Chris this season. Chris says he's right and says he will give them what he wants. He says Elijah stepped up. Bubba says Elijah improved the most. McCool gives her vote to Elijah, so Elijah gets all 4 votes.

The standings are: Team Booker = 2 points, Team Undertaker and Team Bubba = 1 point and Team McCool = 0 points.

Thoughts: If I was awarding points, Elijah and maybe Penina would have gotten my vote. Penina didn't get much of a match though as hers was short.

Sirena talks to Bubba. She says Bubba helped her dig deeper and push her. Sirena says she was p!ssed off. Bubba says his job is not push her button but to kick it.

Shiloh is eating pizza and his fake tooth breaks and falls out. He laughs about it and they talk about next week's show.

Overall thoughts: We only have 60 minutes this year and we only saw about half the roster this week. It was almost all wrestling based this week and I liked it because of it. I still wouldn't say it's great or anything you need to see, but the show is a lot better than it was last year and it's a lot more watchable. I thought the episode was okay overall.
