Ethan Page comes out and says look who's back. He says he found out who he was here and where he became Ethan Page. He says he still has the record of longest reigning tag champ. Page says he will finally become champ at the PPV. He said he has beaten Hendry before and can do it again. He says he will win the title and bring it back to NXT.

Frankie Kazarian comes out. Kaz says Page is wrong if he thinks he can just crawl back to TNA. He says he doesn't like him. Kaz accused him of kissing Santino's butt to get this shot. Page says he's mad that someone else got his way and it wasn't him. Kaz says he will walk out of the PPV as champ.

Santino Marella comes out. He says both are fired up. Santino says there's news about Rebellion that will affect both of them that Joe Hendry will reveal. 

Steve Maclin is interviewed. He says he will stack bodies tonight and hit Eddie Edwards with a KIA. He says he will handle The System if they pop up. He says he doesn't need people watching his back. The Northern Armory comes in. Eric Young says they have his back no matter what. Steve says he doesn't need them in his business and says to stay out of it.

Mustafa Ali vs Ace Austin

Ace is distracted and dropkicked in the corner. Ali stomps on Ace. Ali boots him in the gut. Ali high kicks him then rolls into a neckbreaker. Ali does a standing corkscrew moonsault for 2. Ace lariats him. Ace hits corner lariats.

Ace russian legsweeps him then standing legdrops him. Ace monkey flips him then then drives his head into the mat for 2. Ace is distracted by Hotch. Ali is sent out onto his buddies then Ace suicide dives all 3 of them. Ace handstands on the apron then is chaired by Ali. Ali is DQ'd.

Thoughts: I don't like openers ending in countouts and DQ's. It just gets things off to a bad start. It was a high flying and athletic match but the finish brought this one down.

Ace takes a flipping neckbreaker + samoan drop combo from The Great Hands. Ace is held against the bottom buckle. Ali goes to chair him. Mike Santana gets on the apron and punches the chair away from Ali. Ali then runs.

Ali and is his crew are yelling and heading out. Ali is helped into the car but Mike Santana is driving. Mike bangs Skyler's head off the console and drives off with Skyler.

Cody Deaner tries to talk to the crowd before his match. JDC says he didn't know Cody even worked here. He asks him when the last time he won a match was. He says Cody's contract is coming up soon and things don't look too good for him. JDC says they will offer him a position in The System as a minion. He says Cody needs to trust in The System.

Cody says it's not his choice but the people's choice. He asks if he should be their lackey. Cody says he has another choice - beat Moose for the X-Title. Moose says if Cody can last 2 minutes with him, he will give him a title shot. Cody agrees.

Cody gets a title shot if he lasts 2 minutes - Moose vs Cody Deaner

Cody hits shots on Moose. Moose facekicks him. Moose then hits a last ride. Moose hits another one, teases pinning him but pulls him up. Moose punches Cody in the head. Moose goes for a spear and Cody rolls out. Moose chases him and Cody slides in and out. Cody sends Moose out then dropkicks him off the apron. Cody then wins the shot as the time limit expires.

X-Division Title Match - Moose (c) vs Cody Deaner

Cody hits a sunset flip for 2. Moose hits a rolling spear and wins.

Thoughts: It was what it was. I would have had Cody do a surprise kick out or two instead of win the title shot the cheap way.

Cody takes some shots after. The Rascalz chase The System away with bats.

The System (Brian Myers and JDC) vs The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel)

The System take clotheslines. JDC takes a double teamsequence ending in a baseball slide. Trey stomps on JDC in the corner then Zach bronco busters JDC. Myers takes kicks from both. Zach double stomps Myers' back for 2.

Trey is thrown shoulder first into the post. BM stomps on Trey then russian legsweeps him for 2. BM back elbows Trey. Trey takes punches from JDC in the corner. JDC hits short arm lariats. JDC chinlocks him. JDC misses a slingshot legdrop.

Zach hits punches on Myers. Zack hits kicks and enzugiri's him. Zach handspring jumping knees him for 2. The faces hit stereo superkick sthen do stereo topes. JDC holds Trey foot down from the outside and Myers picks up the pin on a suplex attempt.

Thoughts: What we got was fine. Both sides got some offense in before this one ended. I assume the heels winning this one will lead to a rematch.

TNA International Tournament 1st Round - AJ Francis vs Mance Warner vs Sami Callihan

I really don't know why we need this title since the X-Title is basically the second title. It did get rid of the Digital Media Title though which was worthless.

Sami has an eye patch on and has a turnbuckle hook. He and Mance rake each others eyes and AJ double clotheslines both. AJ corner splashes both. AJ hits Tennessee whiskey on both.

Sami hits shots on AJ. Sami boots him out of the corner. Sami cutters AJ. Mance lariats AJ over the top. Mance and Sami trade then Mance eye rakes him. Sami lariats him. 

Sami paper cuts between Mance's fingers. Sami bites AJ's finger then paper cuts him between the fingers. Mance lariats Sami. Mance hits punches on Sami and eye rakes him. They duel chairs. AJ facekicks Sami then chokeslams Mance for 2.

Mance chairs Sami in the gut. Mance misses a splash on him then takes a death valley driver on an unfolded chair. Sami thumbs Mance in the eye. AJ then hits a big spear on Sami and pins him.

Thoughts: It was an entertaining tag with Mance and Sami brutalizing each other in unique ways. AJ was just kind of the third man here as it was mostly 1v1.

Santino asks Sami what that was in the back and says he poked a man's eye out with his thumb. Santino says Sami is out of control. Sami said Steph threw hot coffee in his face and burnt his retina. He says he wants this to be over as does Santino. Sami says he wants to make history. He wants a barbed wire massacre match with Mance. Santino agrees.

Ryan Nemeth vs Leon Slater

Leon pounds on Ryan. He rewind kicks him then chops him in the corner. Ryan's head is banged off the buckles. Ryan stomps on Leon then pounds on him. Ryan hits an elbow flurry on Leon. Ryan chinlocks him and throws him back. Ryan hits a 2nd rope elbow that barely hits.

Leon hits chops in the corner and corner dropkicks him. Leon twisting suplexes him. Leon handspring back elbows him for 2. Leon 619's him under the bottom rope then slingshot plancha's him outside. Ryan hits a jumping ddt for 2.

Leon hits a standing blue thunder for 2. Ryan goes to chair Leon Slater but Matt and Jeff Hardy stop him. Leon hits a leg lariat then hits a snapmare driver on Ryan. Leon hits a swanton 450 on Ryan and wins.

Thoughts: It was fine. Leon got to fly a little here and picked up the win. They also brought The Hardy's out to continue to push the Leon/Hardy's friendship. 

Mike Santana has John Skyler tied up somewhere. He says he thrives in these trenches and lives under pressure. He says if you take one of his, he takes all of yours one by one. He says Ali will have nowhere to run. Mike says Ali will use Skyler and lose him when he's done. He says he will help with the job. He teases hitting him with a shovel.

Steve Maclin vs Eddie Edwards

SM shoulders and forearms him over. SM hits lariats to the back of the neck. SM topes him outside. Eddie is dropped face first on the apron. Alisha Edwards trips up SM. Eddie blue thunders SM for 2. Alisha messes with SM. We go to break and return.

Eddie chinlocks SM. Eddie corner lariats him then short arm lariats him. Eddie armlocks him. SM hits lariats on Eddie then thesz presses him. SM olympic slams him for 2. Eddie is caught up top. SM 2nd rope olympic slams Eddie. Eddie takes a crosshairs spear. The System come out. The Northern Armory then come out. Alisha gives Eddie a weapon. Eddie hits SM with it then shining wizards him to win.

Thoughts: It was average with a messy finish. Eddie winning makes sense though.

Eric Young hands a mask to Steve after.

Joe Hendry comes out to talk. He says he usually does his spin during his entrance but he has to have a more serious talk. He says he has a serious rotator cuff injury. Joe says he always said he'd defend his title against anyone at any time. He says if you can't defend the title, you shouldn't be champ. He says you have to take the bad with the good and he was advised not to compete. He says he will defend his title though at Rebellion.

He says he will walk out of Rebellion as champ. Frankie Kazarian comes out. Kaz says he's sick of him. He says Joe won't walk out of Rebellion champ and will barely be able to walk out of the building. He says Joe is not at 100% and there's no way he can hang with the King of TNA. Kaz says Joe cares what these morons think.

Kaz says he will dispose of Page at Rebellion then beat him to become champ. Joe says there will be a Kaz/Tessa vs Masha/Hendry match one week before Rebellion.

Overall thoughts: It was the usual average Impact show. The three way was the best thing on here. The main event segment was a bit weak as well. I do think they are doing a decent job with the build to the next big show as they established reasons to care about Santana/Ali, Mance/Sami and The Northern Armory and Steve Maclin. Oddly, the women were not on this show in any real fashion. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as the main event segment was weak, opening up with a DQ was lame and there was nothing must see on this one.
