Vic Joseph and Booker T are on commentary.

Oba Femi comes out to talk. Oba says destiny will always arrive just like him. He says it's time to take his rightful place on the throne. He says people say they never believed they could do it when they win the title, but he always believed he could do it. He says he's backed by destiny.

He says all of this belongs to him now and he says he will rule as he sees fit. He puts over Trick but says he has a ceiling. He says Oba has no ceiling. He says Eddy Thorpe is a piece of work and a rat and a deceiver. He says Eddy can go and annoy someone else.

Tony D'Angelo interrupts. He congratulates him and says he's in the big seat now. He says his personal favorite accomplishment he listed if being the longest reigning N-A champ. Tony says his personaly favorite note is "The Don 2, Oba 1". He says he's the one man to defeat Oba. He says when he decides to go for the title, he will be The Double Title Don.

Oba says it's good Tony found his confidence but says Tony got dropped by Santa Claus last week. Oba says he needs to worry about the N-A Title more and leave him be. Tony says he will take care of Ridge Holland. Ridge comes out. He says Tony is in better shape than the last time he saw him. He then gives him a framed photo of him beating up Tony last week. Tony says "let me come sign it for you". Tony and Ridge then fight and security breaks it up.

Eddy Thorpe hen hits Oba from behind and ddt's him. Eddy punches Oba in the back of the head with a strap on his fist.

Oro Mensah and Dante Chen talk in the locker room. Ethan Page interrupts. He asks if they saw his interaction with The Rock. He asks Dante what he did last week then says, "it doesn't even matter". He says he can smell the jealous in the locker room. Dante says no one is jealous of him and says none of them even want him in there. Page talks about what he did to Evans and Dante pushes him. Dante says he will go to Ava and get the match made.

We see various wrestlers arrive.

Stephanie Vaquer vs Shotzi

They trade waistlocks. Shotzi trips her then is tripped. Shotzi wristlocks her, SV headflips out then wristlocks her. They trade wristlocks more and then stare down. SV snapmares her then flips off the ropes to armdrag her. SV rolls her up for 2. SV ties her legs up but Shotzi stops her. Shotzi ties her legs up and then does a backslide for 2.

Shotzi step up enzugiri's her. Shotzi hanging headscissors her over the top rope. Shotzi top rope crossbodies her for 2. Shotzi boots her out of the corner and SV dragon screws her. SV bangs Shotzi's head off the mat with a headscissors. We go to break and return.

Shotzi hurricanrana's her off the 2nd rope. Shotzi knees her in the face and brazilian kicks her for 2. SV hits a soul foot. Shotzi corner la silla's her. Shotzi tiger suplexes her for 2. SV hits facewash kicks then corner meteora's her. They trade forearms. Jacy Jayne gets on the ropes. She is pulled in and takes a double headbutt. SV headbutts Shotzi then is hit by Fallon Henley with a title. Shotzi then pins SV.

Thoughts: It was pretty average for the most part. Shotzi could have been a little cleaner in this one. The finish wasn't the best.

The NXT girls locker room talks in the back. Sol Ruca tells Kelani Jordan things will turn around. Zaria says KJ needs to use her losses as motivation. Cora Jade comes in and says she would have been #1 contender if Kelani wasn't in the match. She says Kelani is the same little girl. Cora then slaps her.

We go to PiP break and see Steph Vaquer grabbing Jacy and throwing her down. We see Steph walk past someone who looks like the biggest girl I've ever seen. Steph appears to go looking around for someone and then runs into Ethan Page.

Oba Femi talks to Ava in the back with Stevie Turner and Mr. Stone nearby. Oba wants Eddy and says "we give him a title shot" if he wants one. Ava says she won't reward Eddy's bad behavior. Mr. Stone tells Oba not to let Eddie play him. Oba puts Stone against the wall. He says he's the NXT champ and if he wants Eddy, he gets Eddy. Ava then agrees to an Oba/Eddy title match next week.

Ethan Page vs Dante Chen

Page nails Chen as he does his pose. Page then stomps on him. Chen hits shots in the corner and clubs on Page. Chen hits a backfist and superkick. Chen pump kicks him. Page cutters Chen for the win.

Thoughts: This was short and wasn't necessary. I'm not sure why they buried Chen like this.

Page pounds on Chen after. Page takes Chen's boot off. Page puts Chen's foot between the steps and the ring. Page then boots the steps into the foot.

Je'Von Evans then comes out and beats on Page. Page hits him in the jaw and drops him. Page tells him to smile for him then Evans' mouth starts to bleed again.

Dion Lennox congratulates Oba on becoming champ and says he will challenge him for the title one day.

Shawn Spears talks to Rizzo in the back. He says The Family doesn't understand Rizzo. Izzi Dame walks in and says neither she or Rizzo need Spears. Rizzo says she had this handled.

Karmen Petrovic and Ashante Adonis talk in the back. He says it's a new year and a new start and he wants to be official. They then kiss.

We see a video on Giulia winning the NXT Women's Title last week. She says the belt is shiny and heavy and means she can take on new challenges. 

DIY are interviewed. They say they are the 2x tag champs. They say they are here for Fraxiom. Ciampa says they were told they are the greatest tag team in NXT history. Johnny says they have to be 10 steps ahead and said they may face Fraxiom someday. Johnny said he asked for tickets to see Fraxiom up close in person. Ciampa says there will be no problems and you can trust them. 

#1 Contender to the Women's Tag Titles - Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) vs The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn)

Alba wristlocks JJ down then yanks on the arm. JJ flips out of it and wristlocks her. Alba chops her. JJ hits shots to the gut. JJ walks up the buckles and armdrags Alba. She then dropkicks her. Lash knocks over her opponents. Lash lifts up Isla by the arm.

Lash corner splashes Isla then JJ corner hip attacks Isla. Isla headbutts JJ in the gut. JJ slingblades Isla. JJ cartwheel elbow drops Isla. Lash drops JJ onto Isla for 2. Isla gets on Lash's back and Alba boots Lash in the gut.

Alba foot chokes Lash. Isla does the tarantula on Lash but Lash knocks her off. Lash knees Alba in the gut. JJ gets on Lash's shoulders but Alba knocks her off, sending her into the buckles. Isla meteora's JJ off the apron. Alba headscissors Lash. Alba swantons her opponents off the top.

We go to break and return. Lash swings Isla into Alba then fallaway slams her. Lash drops Alba onto Isla. Lash chokeslams Alba for 2. Lash lariats Alba then slams Isla. JJ gets on Lash's shoulders and crossbodies both opponents for 2. JJ takes a backcracker then a top rope swanton.

Alba superkicks JJ. JJ headbusters Isla. Lash holds Alba up then JJ cutters Alba. Lash then gets the pin on Alba.

Thoughts: Lash and JJ tried hard here but it was only just okay. I was surprised to see them win as it's kind of a burial for main roster girls to lose to NXT girls. Lash and JJ did alright here in a match they needed to do well in.

Lexis King looks at his Heritage Cup trophy with Ava. He sees his nameplate get put in. Charlie Dempsey comes up to him. He says he finally did it. Wren tries to say King hit him low. King says it was an accident. Wren chants for a rematch and Ava agrees. We then hear someone get slammed into the rollaway door. Ridge and Tony D are fighting outside. Security breaks it up. 

Masha Slamovich of TNA is in the seats watching the show.

Cora Jade vs Kelani Jordan

Cora pushes her and is pushed back. KJ slaps her then dropkicks her. KJ tiger feint armdrags her then hits mounted punches. KJ chases her around the ring.

KJ low crossbodies her for 2. KJ is crotched up top then thrown off the top. Cora stomps on her. Cora dropkicks KJ while he's in the ropes. Cora step up knees her in the corner.

Cora chinlocks KJ. They trade forearms. KJ facebusters Cora. KJ does reverse curb stomps. KJ gets rough and stomp flurries her in the corner. KJ hits a bunch of wild shots on her. The ref grabs KJ. Cora eye rakes KJ then hits a double underhook ddt for the win.

Thoughts: It was interesting to see Kelani get fired up and beat up on Cora. We haven't seen a lot of that. It seems like we will see this again as Cora won in a cheap way. The match was just average and KJ didn't get to do a lot of her best offense here.

Eddy Thorpe is laughing on video. He says he will wait as he has stuff to say. He says "what a good night at work". He says he set the bait and Oba took it again. He said it's so easy and Oba is so predictable. Eddy says all we be well when he is crowned NXT champ. Eddy says Oba will be overthrown next week. He says he will go celebrate.

Briggs and Inamura talk to Fraxiom. Briggs says they went about this wrong. He says they saved them 2 weeks ago but it didn't get their attention. He says they have their attention now and says they have next. OTM walk in. Nima says they are talking to the wrong ones as Fraxiom won't be champs. Nima says when they get the gold, they won't give it up. Price says if they step to them they will drag through the mud. Inamura asks if they mudwrestle. Inamura is asked if he's a comedian. He says he's not and they all fight.

Thoughts: Yeah, I don't know what this was but it didn't make Inamura look good. Inamura really reminded me of Jackie Chan here for some reason.

Trick Williams does a tweet saying he needs to figure out what his next move is.

NXT Tag Titles - Nathan Frazer and Axiom vs OTM (Lucien Price and Bronco Nima)

NF has a face protector on. Ax hits shots on Price. Ax hits kicks to the leg. NF gets in, runs the ropes and is shouldered over. DIY is watching in the stands. Nima bangs NF's face off his knee. Nima hits corner spears.

Nima hits NF in the gut. Nima comes off the top rope and does a reverse curb stomp on NF. NF enzugiri's Price. Price takes a ddt then NF lifts Ax for a kick on Nima. Ax hits chest kicks on Price.
Price hits a big lariat on Ax. We got to break and return. Price corner lariats Ax. Nima does a head and arm hold on Ax. Ax top rope crossbodies. Nima backrolls while holding him. Ax turns a fallway slam into a crucifix.

NF and Price get in. NF hits forearms. NF ddt's Price and enzugiri's Nima. NF running ssp's Price for 2. Price hits a hard uranage on NF and pushes him into a Nima reverse slam on NF. NF is popped up and forearms Nima off of it. Price takes a legsweep + top rope dropkick for 2. NF topes Nima and Ax ties up Price's arms. NF guillotines Nima at the same time.

Price chops Ax. Price uranages NF onto Ax for 2. NF takes a a boot + twisting drop for 2. Nima gets crotched up top. AX enzugiri's him up there. NF top rope splashes Price through a table and Ax hits a top rope spanish fly on Nima. Ax golden ratio kicks Nima and wins.

Thoughts: It was a good match here as usual from NF and Axiom. It was probably the best thing OTM has been involved in and shows that they are ready to be featured more on the show. Ax and NF did lots of flying here and kept this one moving fast.

Roxanne Perez heads to the ring. We go to break and return. She talks in the ring. She said no one expected her to hold the women's title for 276 days. She said she had 9 title defenses and says the division continues to uprise with each defense. She says she just wanted to make women's wrestling special. She said she wanted to make a women's division we could be proud of and thinks she did that. She says this is the best women's division in wrestling today.

She says she is here without her title as Giulia was the better woman. She congratulates Giulia and says it's what the fans wanted as sad as it makes her. She says the women's division without her as champ is even sadder. She says no one will love the division more than her. 

She says without her, the division will be lost. She says NXT doesn't deserve her and neither do the fans. She says the fans needed The Four Horsewomen in the past but this gen only needed one.

Bayley then comes out. Bay says Perez is at a crossroads and can either be where she is or adapt. Perez says she didn't ask for her advice. Bay disagrees and says she was asking for advice at the age of 14. Bay says the division will be fine with Kelani, Cora and Jaida. She says we're bigger than that. Perez says Bay's like Natalya and Punk. She says it shows Bay is like everyone she used to look up to. She says Bay set records but Perez broke them.

Perez says Bay was her role model but she could be hers now. Bay says the biggest difference between them is that Perez will be stuck here while she wins the title and goes to Mania. Perez slaps her, Bay takes her down and we cut away as the show ends abruptly.

Thoughts: NXT has had a big problem lately with timing the show as the final segment keeps getting cut short. They either need to have like a curfew match like they used to do in the old days or learn to time things better. I don't know what we missed here but it seemed important. The Rock got cut off last week as well.

Overall thoughts: It was an average NXT highlighted by a good tag title match. That was the only thing that was really good here though the women's tag match was close to being good. The last segment ended abruptly though I think we saw most of that. NXT has to fix that going forward. I'd give this one a 6 out of 10 but you can skip this show.
