WWE NXT Level Up 10/14/2022

WWE NXT Level Up 10/14/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/10/wwe-nxt-level-up-1072022.html

I'm really sorry for the delays on these. Fridays at 10PM is a bad time for me.

Tank Ledger and Ikemen Jiro vs Bryson Montana and Duke Hudson

This is Tank's debut. Him and Jiro are wearing hats and posing together. Tank has a leather vest on and points with two fingers. Duke and BM also posed together. Yes, Tank's last name sucks.

Jiro is thrown back on a lock up. Jiro headlocks Duke and is shouldered over hard. Duke side headlocks Tank and they shoulder battle. Duke knees him in the gut. BM gets in and Tank corner splashes him. Tank hits a big slam. Jiro gets in and kicks BM's leg then BM takes a double back elbow.

Tank and Jiro double splash BM. BM neckbreakers Tank after Duke distracts. BM holds up Tank for Duke's kicks to the gut and Tank fights off a 1v2. Tank backdrops BM and tags out. Jiro gets a hot tag in and hits BM and Duke with jacket punches. Jiro slingshot sitdown moonsaults BM then step up enzugiri's BM for the win.

The match was okay. Tank did well in his debut. He's not tanky at all, but he gets what he is doing and already looks like he has been wrestling for a few years. He also clearly has personality and charisma and I really like his chances of succeeding.

Myles Borne is interviewed. He said Raaj pushed him to the very end last time and he dreamed to get that first win. He thanks the WWE fans for supporting him. He says he looks up to Chen and wants to win, but he has to fight one step at a time. He says he wants to pick up the victory here so he can get on NXT, Raw and SD.

Myles Borne vs Dante Chen

Chen has a new pose. Borne had a weird entrance here. It seemed like the music didn't start until he was half out there.

Borne takes him down and rolls him on the mat. Chen goes up and over in the corner and armdrags him. Chen runs at him from behind and Borne blind backflips over him. Borne then firemans carries him and hits a nice dropkick. Chen goes for a hiptoss but is rolled up then Chen works his arms on the mat. Borne armdrags him then Chen pump kicks him in the side of the face.

Borne hiptosses him and hits a nice belly to belly. He rolls over him then hits another nice dropkick. Borne lifts him up for a high double hunderhook ddt and on the landing, he puts his arm in the way for the drop and Chen lands face first. I don't think that one will stick.

Borne was good as usual. He's above these short matches at this point and seems ready enough for NXT. He's good in the ring and he has a good look, but he doesn't have much personality yet and I don't know if his physical limitations are part of that or not.

Ivy Nile vs Lash Legend

Lash grabs her by the hair and knees her. Lash corner splashes her then Ivy tries to sunset flip her but is blocked. Lash then picks her up by the head and spins her into a drop. Lash cravates her then Ivy rolling armbars her into a pin attempt. Ivy hits a crossbody and Lash blocks her armdrag and clubs her.

Lash butterfly suplexes her for 2. Lash pulls her arm against and over the ropes. Lash pounds and stomps onn her then Ivy ties up her legs and rolls her up for 2. Lash misses a pump kick then lariats her. Lash bangs Ivy's head off the mat. Lash misses an elbow and Ivy shoulders her over. Ivy hits kicks and an enzugiri then hits her jumping kick. Ivy then suplexes her. Lash has her in a reverse ddt then Ivy flips backwards and dragon sleepers her to win.

It was one of Lash's better efforts and I think it says a lot of Ivy to be able to make that happen.

Overall thoughts: It's Level Up. It's a short show with little happening and that's what this mostly was. Tank Ledger did well in his debut and Myles Borne continues to impress.
