Jimmy Uso vs Michael McGillicutty

Matt Striker said that this one came about with Mike talking about how great he was and Jimmy Uso saying to prove it by showing it in the ring.

"You can see the silver and black ring gear, which is inspired by the Oakland Raiders." - Tony Dawson

Jimmy Uso got the win with a top rope splash. Strong match here that got around 10 minutes. This was two guys going back and forth showing their skills. Mike looked really good as usual and Jimmy was good too. I liked Mike's lariat to the back and the Uso superkick was nice. This is the kind of match that you watch Superstars for as it was a hidden gem. Good stuff here that is worth a look. Rating:***

Kaitlyn and Layla vs Aksana and Tamina Snuka

Hey, we got THREE Layla matches this week. This was a pretty good week.

 

Matt Striker said this one got started as Kaitlyn soiled Aksana's make-up, Layla and Tamina tried to break it up and they agreed to a match.

They said Layla tweeted that she won't wear her knee brace anymore as she is more explosive without it.

Kaitlyn won with a spear. The finish was a little sudden and no one was really ready for it. The match flow was also a little bit off which hurt this. Nothing too special here unfortunately and they really could have used more time. The crowd didn't care at all.

Overall thoughts: The opener was pretty good and the diva's match was so so. Still, this is a good Superstars.
