WWE NXT 2.0 5/10/2022
WWE NXT Women's Tag Titles - Toxic Attraction (c) vs Wendy Choo and Roxanne Perez
Wendy climbs up on the top rope when T-A isn't looking and crossbodies all of them before the bell rings. Gigi gets her arm worked over. Perez is kind of sitting on Gigi and Jacy comes in and neckbreakers her. Perez gets her faced pressed on the ropes.
Wendy gets in and belly to bellies Jacy then corner splashes her. Jacy is thrown out then Perez topes her and Gigi as we go to PIP break.
We come back from a PiP break and Choo hot tags to Perez. Perez thesz presses her then headscissors her into a russian leg sweep. Mandy Rose gets in the ring then Wendy spears her. Perez goes for a code red by Jacy superkicks her and Toxic Attraction wins it. Wendy attacks T-A after then Mandy drops her with a belt shot to the back and she takes a 3v1.
It wasn't bad but not special or that great.
We see Grayson Waller and Tiffany Stratton shopping together. Waller says FRazer got lucky on his win and they rip Chase U. Tiff calls Bodhi a dork and Waller says there is nothing more dangerous than the two of them.
We see Joe Gacy with minions as he comes out to address the world.
We go to the Diamond Mine dojo. The Creed's are mad that Strong tainted their win with interference. Strong says they should thank him. The Creed's say they want the Viking Raiders and they want to beat them the right way. Strong says he is going to bring in someone to help them get to the tag titles. And that man is Damon Kemp. The Creed's say new members are a group decision and Julius says the ycan talk about it later.
Joe Gacy comes out with the druids. Gacy said anyone can open themselves to real change. He said two guys have seperated themselves from the pack and committed to Gacy's cause. He says his expansion has begun and change takes place one person at a time. He invites Bron Breakker to join them. He said pain awaits those who resist.
Bodhi Hayward is warming up Andre Chase in the back. Sarray comes in with subtitles and says she can't stand Stratton and Grayson. Chase says he can't understand and Bodhi says she wants a mixed tag match tonight. Bodhi is asked how he knows Japanese and he says it's because he is attending Japanese class at Chase U. Sarray yells more, he says he thinks he understands and says he will make the match now. In subtitles, Sarray then says that is a teachable moment.
We went to an Ivy Nile Challenge where they did push-ups. Someone leaves as they can't keep up and she says by the end of the night, she will be the last one standing.
We see the girls in the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament. They introduce the girls.
NXT Women's Breakout Tournament- Sloane Jacobs vs Fallon Henley
Fallon takes her down early and Sloane does a nice forward roll in a pin attempt on her. Sloane misses a dropkick and then barely hits another dropkick. Briggs and Jensen come out to support Fallon then Sloan running kicks Fallon. Fallon facebusters her then does the Briggs and Jensen spot where she slides out and punches her.
Fallon takes a chinbreaker then they both flying facebuster each other at the same time. Sloane hits back elbows and neckbreakers her. Fallon does a shining wizard and wins it. Fallon raises Sloane's hands after.
It really wasn't anything too special and neither really impressed.
LdF is interviewed. Santos said AJ Gallante should not have been in their meeting last week and said he became fair game. Santos said AJ could not survive in LdF's streets. Santos says you don't get involved in their business and walk away, much less walk again. Cruz is told to go start the car.
We see another promo for Alba Fyre.
Cruz del Toro is in the parking lot. Tony D'Angelo appears in front of him then Cruz is pulled out of the car and beaten up. Tony then opens up his car trunk and Cruz is thrown in there. Tony says they are sending Santos a message.
Amari Miller vs Alba Fyre
Alba has new gear. She pulls her down and we go to an inset of the Ivy Nile Challenge with people doing burpees. Amari counters a hiptoss with an armdrag then runs up the buckles and armdrags her.
Amari kind of neckbreakers Alba with her own arm. Alba superkicks her then does a weak tornado ddt. Alba superkicks her again and Amari trips her then PK's her. Alba hits a gory bomb then swantons her for the win.
Alba didn't get much in here. They treated this as a re-debut for her and it felt like Amari was going over with her getting put over so much here. Amari looked okay here.
Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes arrive. Solo Sikoa greets them and locks them out of the building. They say they are getting in though.
Cora Jade is interviewed. She is asked if she is nervous to face her idols and said she is. She says she is a different girl but is ready. She said Natalya thinks she is the gatekeeper and she will bust that gate open.
Solo Sikoa came out. He said this is supposed to be Carmelo's and Trick's time, but it is his time now. He said he got next on the North American title shot. Cameron Grimes then comes out.
Grimes says he respects him and says he understands he wants a shot. Grimes says it's him and Hayes 1v1. He says Solo will get the next shot if he wants it. The crowd really liked Solo here and didn't like Grimes for some reason.
Grimes then gets jumped by Trick and Hayes from behind. solo turns around and watches then comes in to stop some of it. Solo clears both men off.
LdF is in the parking lot and sees Cruz's car is open with no one in it. They are worried about it and Santos says he knows what this is. He calls Tony D'Angelo, who is with his crew. Tony asks who it is. Santos says whoever did this to Cruz is in big trouble. Tony pretends he knows nothing about it and says his man AJ is missing too. Santos says word is AJ Gallante is in rough shape. Tony says if AJ is let go, he will let Cruz go. Tony says they should settle it in a match next week and he agrees.
Santos said he has sealed his fate. Tony said nobody talks to him like that then threatens him. Santos says "f**k you", but it is beeped out then Tony flips the table.
Nathan Frazer is interviewed. He said he is excited for NXT UK's 200th episode. He said beating Waller was the highlight of his life. Xyon Quinn walks in and tells him to run straight and keep his head up. Wes Lee then comes in. Xyon said he put Wes in his place and threatens to do the same to Frazer. Frazer said he didn't understand. Wes says Xyon didn't get under Frazer's skin but got under his. Xyon asks if he wants to go through the pain again with him and Wes says he will be there.
Bodhi asks Chase if Sarray is going to compete in her schoolgirl gear. She then transforms and Bodhi and Chase also transform. Bodhi is in a wig and a cut off shirt while Chase is wearing blue now. This was funny.
Tiffany Stratton and Grayson Waller vs Sarray and Andre Chase
Tiff and GW are wearing near matching pink. They are confused by the transformation. Waller rolls out of a wristlock, kips up then armdrags Chase to start. Chase kips up GW into an armdrag then hiptosses him. Sarray chases tiff around the ring then gets forearmed coming in.
Sarray trips her then indian deathlocks her. Sarray does the C-H-A-S-E-U stomps with Chase in a cool moment then Sarray does the "teachable moment" taunt with him. We go to break and return. Waller spinning forearms Chase. Waller backflips Tiff then Waller walks the ropes and froggy elbows Chase.
Chase backdrops Waller then Sarray gets the hot tag in. She hits Tiff with forearms and three nice dropkicks. Sarray then tries to dropkick her through the ropes but Waller saves Tiff. Chase trips Waller then Sarray dropkicks Waller through the ropes, which should be a DQ due to the intergender violence.
Tiff comes in and slams Sarray then does her twisting vader bomb splash. Bodhi sets off an airhorn and distracts Tiff, then Tiff plancha's him. Tiff gets back in and is rolled up for the Sarray and Chase win.
It was entertaining but I didn't like the intergender violence. That should have been a DQ, as otherwise, the guys are dumb for not beating the crap out of the girls. This was the best Sarray looked in a while.
We go back to the Ivy Nile Challenge and they are doing lungues with "bulgarian bags" on their shoulders. Two guys drop out.
Von Wagner and Robert Stone are interviewed. Von gives Stone the mic. We see clips of Von injuring Jensen and Jiro. Jiro then jumps Von and the fight is broken up.
Arianna Grace is warming up in the back and so is Nikkita Lyons.
Toxic Attraction says they want to check in on Indi Hartwell. They said they can't imagine what she is going through, then reveal it's because no man has ever left them. They call her a loser and tell her to find Wendy Choo.
NXT Women's Breakout Tournament- Nikkita Lyons vs Arianna Grace
Grace does an inset. She said Lyons is the favorite, but she has competed in judo and jiu jitsu tournaments and beauty pageants. She said not to write her out.
Lyons kicks her then backslides her. They roll on the mat and Lyons trips her but gets armbarred. Grace gets lifted from the triangle position and dropped. Grace stretches the arm on the rope then drops knees on it. Grace puts her in an anaconda vice and is wearing some seriously high bottoms.
Lyons hits some nice kicks then german suplexes her. Lyons spin kicks her in the face then does her jumping split on her to win it.
This was short and Grace did look better than in her debut. Nothing wrong with it but it didn't have a ton of time.
The Ivy Nile challenge is now onto battle ropes/pull-ups. We are down to one person left. Ivy tells him to keep going until he can't anymore and they do pull-ups while wearing a chain. The guy can't keep up and falls.
The Viking Raiders do a promo on the Creed's. They say they respect them for not wanting a tainted victory. They said they have honor and respect. Ivar says respect and honor will be put to the side. They said the raid is coming next week and said Ragnarok awaits.
Tony D vs Santos Escobar is next week. Bron Breakker will answer Joe Gacy's invitation as well.
Cora Jade vs Natalya
Natty side headlock takeovers her then kips up. Cora then kips up out of a headscissors. Cora tries to use the ropes to flip out of a wristlock but doesn't land the flip. Cora then armdrags her.
Cora hits some forearms then uses Natalya and the ropes to do a headscissors. Natty rolls out as we go to PiP break. We return with Cora doing a cobra twist and getting thrown off. Natty surfboards her and Cora rolls out of it then basement dropkicks her.
Cora slaps her and tries to slide between the legs and gets caught. Cora bounces off the 2nd rope for an armdrag then pumping knees her on the ropes. Cora then tornado ddt's her for 2. Cora kind of swantons herself off the top to get out of the way then takes a spinning lariat soon after for 2.
Natty pounds on her in the corner then suplexes her and her leg hits the bottom rope. Natty works the leg and bangs it off the post. Natty tries to figure four her around the post but gets rammed into it. Cora step up kicks her then bounces off the bottom rope and double stomps her back for 2.
Cora hits a sliced bread #2 for 2. Cora sharpshooters her but Natty gets out. Cora gets caught off the 2nd rope then put in a sharpshooter. She gets close to the ropes and passes out due to the pain.
I thought this was good match. They worked Cora having an injured leg then being sharpshootered. They did some nice play with Cora idolizing Natty here as well and it was a fun underdog vs vet match. Good stuff.
Natty offers her hand after and they hug to close the show.
Overall thoughts: I thought this was a good show. the oepner was fine, the main was good, Nikkita's match was okay and Bodhi getting transformed was funny. I also liked the stuff with Tony D.
