Big Japan Pro Wrestling 1/2/2022 New Year 2022

Hiroyuki Suzuki & Takuho Kato vs. Kazumasa Yoshida & Kazumi Kikuta

What I saw of this really wasn't too bad with Kato and Suzuki showing some energy and power and Kikuta hitting some hard shots.

Fuminori Abe, Kazuki Hashimoto & Kosuke Sato vs. Koju Takeda, Kota Sekifuda & Tatsuhiko Yoshino

Koju got his tights wedged up early and got spanked. Abe did a nice spinning kick into the corner on Kota and they traded forearms. Kota ducked a wind-up punch then abe blocked his pele style kick into an ankle lock. Abe then hit a wind-up punch and was pele kicked. Sato and Yoshino had a nice little exchange that ended up in Yoshino taking a falcon arrow, then he hit one back on Sato. Yoshino hit a real nice swanton bomb on Sato and Sato did a nice reversal into a front choke that won the match. This was fast paced and wasn't too bad for what it was.

Lighttubes Death Match - Crazy Lovers (Masashi Takeda & Takumi Tsukamoto) & Toshiyuki Sakuda vs Akira Hyodo, Drew Parker & Yuki Ishikawa

Takeda got blasted with a couple of tubes to start. Parker did a flip dive over the top through an empty area of the light tube filled ropes. Hyodo and Takeda botched a go-behind spot and Hyodo slipped and fell into tubes.

Hoyodo went through a bunch of tubes then had a chair slammed on him while he had a chair over his face. Takeda grabbed some tubes then Hyodo speared the tubes into him. Parker DDT'd Takeda off the top rope. Sakuda tried to go Ishikawa's back and senton a tube but it didn't break. Parker took an ugly piledriver off the apron through chairs and Takeda's team won with double submissions.

There wasn't any great logic to this as expected and people like Hyodo really do suck but they kept the action fast paced and it made it better.

TLC Death Match - Isami Kodaka & Ryuji Ito vs. Hideyoshi Kamitani & Masaya Takahashi

This isn't a TLC match, but more of a match with TLC weapons. Kami and isami set up a table and were sliding chairs on it then under it to hit each other. Kami sat Isami on a chair then shoulderblocked him into the table behind it. Kami stood on a chair that was on top of a table. He tried to pick up Isami but Isami pulled it out and he went back first onto the table. Kamit tani came off the top and sat on a ladder on Ito's stomach but hurt his wrist in the process.

Isami and Ito threw chairs at Kami's head. Isami set up a ladder in the corner and climbed but Kami superplexed him off of it. They traded some moves and Isami won it with a fire thunder in a match that wasn't anything special.

BJW Strong World Heavywweight Title - Takuya Nomura (c) vs Yuji Okabayashi

Yuji won this with a top rope splash. Nomura worked the arm early. Despite that, he forgot all about it for most of the match and Yuji did as well and it ended up playing no part in the match. I thought Nomura shouldn't have had the control over the match that he did and I thought Yuji should have been the one in control. I liked the striking exchanges they did but I thought it ran too long.
