Dramatic Dream Team 1/10/2022 - Sweet Dreams 2022 Tour in Osaka Day 2

I skipped two matches here.

Shunma Katsumata vs. Yuya Koroku

Shunma wore boxing gloves out here but took them off. He has odd cow pattern shorts on. Yuya is a face rookie. He hit some nice Ricky Steamboat style armdrags to start. Yuya worked the arm and had it in an arm ringer, but Shunma walked through the ropes and tied him up in them.

Shunma tied up Yuya to the post outside and grabbed his boxing gloves to use him like a punching bag. Yuya ate more boxing punches then went back to work on the arm. Shun continued with the body punches and took a fujiwara armbar. Yuya missed a moonsault from the top and took a crossbody, a high kick then a death valley driver but still kicked out at 2. Shunmda then hit a frogsplash on the stomach which makes sense since he was working it with punches for the win.

This was a good match. Yuya looked very good here and Shunma as always is a smart worker.

Antonio Honda & Toi Kojima vs. DISASTER BOX (HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi)

Harashima won this with a meteora. Honda did a bunch of veteran dirty tricks early and Kojima did 1980's babyface offense. Owashi tried to do some athletic stuff but couldn't then he and Honda had a chop battle. Honda grabbed the mic and teased kissing Kojima. They then pulled their opponents in and played love music and they almost kissed each other. Harashima snapped out of it though and it led to the finish.

I wish they had just done the comedy from the start so I could have skpped this.

Kazuki Hirata & The Bodyguard vs. Pheromones (Danshoku Dino & Yuki Ino)

I tried to watch this but Dino was doing Dino stuff like pulling up Hirata's trunks and sticking his hands in them and I wanted no part of it. A darn shame too since Ino vs Bodyguard sounds like good stuff.

Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida vs. Burning (Jun Akiyama & Tetsuya Endo)

Ishida a smaller guy who did some sumo in college and does not look like a sumo wrestler whatsoever. He only just debuted in October 2021 and was playing the junior here to Higuchi. Ishida and Jun did a sumo challenge early. Jun did some veteran bullying around of Ishida early and Higuchi and Jun double brain clawed the other. Ishida had a nice palm strike rush attack and showed some fire here. They did a weird spot here where Higuchi and Ishida had Endo up for a double vertical suplex. Isihida let go and then just kind of pushed Endo down.

Engo hit a nice shoulder tackle here with sumo mannerisms but soon after Endo caught him in a moss covered three handed family credenza and won in a random finish. Ishida is a little silly but he's a decent looking guy with some meat to him and he's got a lot of energy. I think he will do just fine and I'd watch him again.

Akito, Chris Brookes & Yuji Hino vs. The 37KAMIINA (Konosuke Takeshita, MAO & Yuki Ueno)

Brookes and Mao did the indy respect-off spot early and then we got some silly brawling around the ring. Everyone should have been counted out but wasn't and then we had a legitimate tug of war between the two teams with a giant rope.

They went back in the ring and Akito was thrown in the corner. One of his opponents had his leg through the ropes so Akito did a dragon screw leg twist on it. Brookes and Mao had a bad strike exchange where Mao totally missed a punch and they sold it anyway, then he did a nice jumping legdrop on a standing Brookes. Ueno got caught on a crossbody by Hino and took a big fallaway slam then a senton.

Takeshita and Hino had a nice forearm exchange and they had a lariat war. Hino then dropped him on his neck with a german. Takeshita rushed at him and got flipped with a lariat. Later on Akito was working on a figure four then Ueno hit a flying knee at him and knocked him down. Mao got thrown in the corner and did his nice SOS kick. Mao and Ueno tried to bodyslam Hino together but ended up getting bodyslammed by him at the same time.

Brookes launched himself over the top rope into the ring and caught Takeshita with a cutter. Takeshita and Akito had a messy section then Takeshita won with an unusual cobra clutch stranglehold type of move. The match didn't have much story to it and the goofing around with the rope wasn't good nor was the finish. I really did like the Takeshita and Hino sections though.

Overall thoughts: Eh, it's DDT. You see some flashes of brilliance and potential then you get gay comedy. If they just stuck with the wrestling more, I'd enjoy the shows a lot more. Can't recommend this one but I really did like Yuya vs Shunma.
